Best bakery I've ever been to, hands down. The bread is AMAZING. I can't rave enough about it. I always have to get at least a few baguettes, because I'm sure to finish at least one of them before I even get to my car. And that's eating it plain. Getting a sandwich on it, even more amazing. They have a chicken salad sandwich special from time to time and I would drive a hundred miles just to get that if I had to (thankfully I don't, I live up the street). The pastries are great, the main dishes are great, variety of drinks. The employees are incredibly friendly and helpful, not to mention extremely efficient. The only complaint I have is that the hours posted are not accurate. They should just remove the stated hours sign altogether. There's been a number of times that I've gotten there at 6:30 to get bread for dinner only to find them closed even though the sign states that they're open until 7. read more

I was back in the neighborhood and needed a quick fix -- so I decided to give this place another try. It was a Monday morning, and the pastry case was a sad state of affairs. Minimal choices, the signage/price tags were even missing this time. Found this to be a bit odd -- shoudln't a bakery be well stocked for the work week for the busy bee office workers?! Thank goodness there were a couple of strawberry muffins sitting in the case, but they looked awfully lonely. I rescued one but feel bad about the fate of the others. Coffee still poor quality. Friendly, courteous service, but not enough to keep me interested. :-( read more

I came here for my girlfriend's 22nd birthday to get her a cake. Her brother and I met up here around 2 and talked to one of the managers of the place. She was very helpful in the beginning in helping us decide a cake. Towards the end however she got a bit snotty with us like she wanted to rush us out of there because she already knew she had the sale. Now if I wasn't pressed for time (the birthday being only 3 days away) I would of gone some place else the moment she flipped her attitude. Granted we were asking a lot of questions, but if I'm going to spend 80 dollars on a single layered cake with a simple design I better damn well get all the attention I ask for when it comes to choice! The pastries are overpriced for what you get and the customer service is touchy at best. I support the local business of my hometown but this place pushes my patience. This place is a "go to" if you are in the area. I was working the Lemon Festival yesterday and couldn't find a good place that would serve quality food for a reasonable price. I am so glad I found this place. I only had 30 mins. for lunch so I wasn't sure if I was going to get my food on time, but glad I took the risk and ordered my food anyway. The asian lady was awesome, she put in a rush order for me and managed to get my food on time. Superb customer service! Hubs and I came here for an impromptu breakfast while the rest of our group was climbing down the street. I had a bacon & egg breakfast croissant sandwich, and he had a bacon breakfast wrap (more like a burrito). I really enjoyed my sandwich (came with a side of sliced potatoes), but he said the wrap was too much tortilla and not enough filling. Just stopped in to get out for the rain one morning before an appointment. I thought a coffee and pastry would be a good start. I got a coffee while I waited. The refill on my mug was $1 and the coffee was sub-par at best! Not a good sign. BUT! The pastries looked pretty good and I saw that they have a nice lunch/dinner menu. Pretty decent bakery in downtown Upland. The owner is very nice and friendly and great with recommendations. Me and my girlfriend have been here twice and each time the baked goods we got were very tasty! The cannolis tasted fresh and yummy and the danish I had was very flavorful as well. I just wish the place was a bit more clean and welcoming. While sitting outside we noticed a bunch of dead bugs on the window sill and the inside isn't very pretty either. Wish the place had a bit more charm like Some Crust in Downtown Claremont...but the food here is good nevertheless! Give it a try. Didn't realize roast beef sandwich would take nearly 30 minutes to make here. Would have gone elsewhere had I known they were going to forget our order. Edit: knocking the original 2-star review down to 1 star because a female manager / owner sent me a sarcastic message about can't please us. We just wanted to eat and go on to our kids' baseball game. I suppose the manager/owner was surprised when we refused her free dessert bribe after her kitchen staff likely misplaced our order. She forgot about my cheerful over-ordering desserts at first and that she walked away from my wife as we tried to get her attention to find out whether she got our order. She also forgot I politely asked about our orders about 15 minutes after the initial order. The female manager/owner tried to tell me there was a rush when we walked in. There was just not that many orders from that the large party who were waiting around. It was clear to me that the kitchen staff misplaced our sandwich order as I watched the kitchen staff frantically looking for our sandwich order when I went back for a second time to cancel the dessert orders. Also, one of the kitchen staff came out nearly 10 minutes after the "rush" was over to clarify our order with the manager/owner. Look, we were not hard to please. We would have gone to McDonald's if we just wanted fast service. We looked to support a local business and they perhaps didn't have a good morning. We came across this bakery after the farmer's market, exploring the area. The customer service is enough to make us come back, but those pastries were something else. They were highly recommended and right out of the oven. My wife had the guava cheese and I had the plantain pastry and we can honestly say we've never had anything like them. Service is amazing. The woman at the counter is so charming. I stopped for a quick coffee to-go and sat at the table outside for a second to look something up. This is a cozy cute bakery in a awesome lil old town. We had parking right in front but it's nice to walk around by all these shops. First time here and I ordered a cheese, egg,bacon bagel w cream cheese and they give you a side of fresh cooked potatoes. My hubby got a croissant It was so delicious hit the spot. We found this bakery on Yelp, and I have to say that Yelp has not let us down! We were greeted with a friendly hello by the owner who told us the special was a chicken salad sandwich, so we split it and got a few cookies for dessert to take to over to visit our family who live nearby. The roll that the sandwich was on was so fresh and delicious! This was one of the best chicken salad sandwiches I've ever had. I love Mexican wedding cookies so I ordered a couple, but I must say that this was my least favorite cookie because it was dry and hard. The chocolate chip with coconut was unbelievably tasty and moist. My husband and I split a couple cookies, so we could try them all. The cranberry raisin cookie was moist and tasty as well as the peanut butter one. I'd give this place 5 stars if it wasn't for that nasty shortbread Sandi (Mexican wedding) cookie. read more

The friendly gentleman suggested a chicken salad sandwich and it was fresh with a little container of appertizing potato salad. First off, the customer service here is awesome. I ordered a pepperoni pizza ("The American"), a bag of walnut brittle, and a giant frosted brownie with a Christmas tree on top. Walnut brittle was pretty good. I'm a total sucker for brittle and toffee, and had never had walnut. I liked it. Im not a huge brownie fan but got it because it looked so darn good and it did not disappoint! Good pizza, but I wish the crust were a little crisp. The guy at the counter was very helpful and incredibly nice. This place has the cute look and feel of an old style bakery. It is very quiet, making it a good place to come relax and do some homework or just get away for a little while. They have a shelf of books that you can flip through while hanging out. The spaghetti is very highly recommended on other reviews, so I will definitely be back to try this next time. Luis was so welcoming when we first moved here and his friendliness and superior service have never changed. The bacon and egg croissant sandwich with potatoes are a regular request whenever we come here. They make an iced coffee that's simply exceptional! As for the desserts and pastries... there's too many to name. They're all delicious.
