    Girls night out!
    Scarlette M.

Such a great spot! This bar doesn't just serve amazing drinks -- the food is just as impressive. Whether you come for lunch, dinner, or a late-night bite, everything comes out fresh, flavorful, and way better than your typical bar food. The cocktails are top-notch, creative, and perfectly balanced -- you can tell the bartenders take pride in what they do. The atmosphere is lively and welcoming, making it a great place to hang out with friends or unwind after a long day. You do have to walk up to the bar to order food, which can be a little tricky when it's busy, but the staff keeps things moving and the vibe makes it worth the wait. Overall, a fun, upbeat place with great energy, excellent food, and drinks that never miss. Definitely one of those spots you'll find yourself coming back to again and again!

The place just screams character and when all of the locals, no pun intended tell you that is where you need to go you should listen. They had dollar wing night and it started to get really busy and the service was amazing and the food and the atmosphere were just exceptional.

Great service and food a good find in uptown, wings were good and big, good amount of sauce and the fried were good

I came here on a Thursday night before a concert. It was packed. We snagged a table after waiting thirty minutes and being quick! The service was excellent for how packed it was. The staff was so kind and efficient. I got a beef street taco for $4 and house made chips for $4. Both so good and affordable! I would come back here.

I was in town for a concert and needed something to eat before I started my night. I saw the chicken sandwich in the reviews and decided on this spot. They had a special going for one of their chicken sandwiches for $9. It was cooked so well, super juicy and the bun was toasted and soft as hell. One thing I hate about sandwiches is when the lettuce is wilted. The lettuce was crunchy fresh. I also ordered 6 hot honey wings and a tropical vojito. The wings were cooked perfectly. My only complaint was the hot honey was basically just honey. But the wings themselves made up for it. Also the blue cheese was giving ranch vibes. I like my blue cheese thick and chunky. Everything came out to $30 which was a great price imo. The bartender made sure I had everything I needed and she was gorgeous. Definitely will go back next time I'm in Charlotte.

Cool bar for pre drinks before heading over for the soccer game. We had some miller and coor lights here. Great quick service. We ordered the loaded tots or fries and the chicken fingers. The crisp and firedness of the chicken was super delicious.

Wandered into this hip bar while walking in uptown. It was pretty crowded for a Sunday afternoon. It's more of a hip dive bar. Small space, so people are pretty close to each other whether you like it or not. They offer a variety of drink specials along with the normal beer, wine, and alcohol selections. They have a few tables inside, but you are mainly just standing. They do have bouncers at the door that check ID when you arrive. They do have outside seating as well for the warmer weather. It's definitely more of a casual vibe and wouldn't mind coming back. This is located in uptown, so of course parking can be hassle unless you just uber.

Absolutely stellar experience this past weekend visiting Charlotte and specifically this bar. The service was top notch and the food was INSANELY GOOD. on top of that the drinks were unique and fun and well crafted. It was so good that it caused me to be late for my flight. Best bar I visited during my time there.

They messed my order up and lied about it, seems like this has happened before. Too bad, I wanted to like the place.

We came in at a time when it wasn't really busy, but it took forever for our server to come around. Ordered two glasses of red and the cheese plate only to be told after we received the wine that there was no charcuterie -- at all. Not a "need to substitute" or "we're missing one of the items" just completely 86ed. Despite being prominently featured at the top of the menu! Since we already had our wine, we had to order something else. I went with the cheese sticks, and my mom ordered a hamburger based on what the table next to us had. When she got her burger though, despite us ordering the same as the table next to us, it was a completely different burger. She ate it anyway and my cheese sticks were okay for pub food. But overall, a really disappointing experience based on what we expected. And we had to hunt down the server to pay so we could get back to the conference on time.

By the…read moretime we got settled in, dining options were pretty limited, so we searched online and this spot looked like the best choice -- and we're glad we found it. When we pulled up, there was a police outside, which didn't bother us. If anything, it made things feel more secure. They also use a metal detector when you walk in before being seated. Don't let that scare you off though -- this place is a well-oiled machine and everything felt organized and under control. Our server was fantastic: calm, attentive, and never pushy. I ordered the country fried steak with collards and mashed potatoes with gravy, and my husband got a burger. My meal was excellent, and it came with a perfectly flaky biscuit. The tea was Southern SWEET tea, too. My husband said his burger was good for a diner, fresh vegetables and the fries were seasoned well. The diner itself is adorable, full of character and charm. Overall, we had a great experience and would absolutely come back.

Review for Midnight Diner…read more classic, retro-style diner--the kind with a counter, cozy booths, and a nostalgic vibe. The only thing missing is a waitress calling you "hon," and honestly, that might be part of the charm. I was craving a West Coast favorite--chicken fried steak--which I quickly learned is called country fried steak here in the South. Breakfast, lunch, or dinner... it didn't matter. I wanted comfort food, and this place delivered. I ordered takeout and picked it up without any hassle. They have their own private parking lot, which is a huge plus, especially for an Uptown location. It's situated right across from the Hyatt Regency and along the light rail, so I can imagine it gets very busy--particularly if you're heading to or leaving the Spectrum Center. This is exactly the kind of spot where you grab a solid meal to soak up whatever you've been celebrating. And the food? Generous. Very generous. My order included: * Country fried steak with gravy * Mashed potatoes * Pancakes * And, because curiosity got the best of me, their coconut French toast That coconut French toast was the wildcard--and it did not disappoint. Sweet, indulgent, and definitely a treat. Between that and the rest of the meal, it was a lot of food, but I was very happy. The price point is reasonable, the service was fast, and the whole experience felt easy and reliable--exactly what you want from a diner. Next time, I'd like to sit inside and enjoy the full experience, because the atmosphere looks like part of the fun. As someone still exploring Charlotte as a foodie after relocating from the West Coast, it's always nice to find places that deliver those nostalgic comfort-food moments--and this one absolutely did. Bottom line: Great comfort food, generous portions, easy parking, and a classic diner vibe. A solid go-to spot in Uptown, especially when you're hungry and want something satisfying.

Instead of wiping down the cup or providing another, server left the cup and dripping of cream throughout the meal onto the person. The menu was promising and hard time selecting. Chose the fish and chips. Was told it was a scratch kitchen and was looking forward to homemade fries - unfortunately, they seemed like they were out of a bag and served cold. The fish had so much grease my dining companions watched me squish the grease out before eating. The tartar sauce seemed like mayonnaise with a couple pieces of pickle thrown in. The coleslaw seemed like it came from a bag as well. There was nothing good about this meal except the ketchup. Sadly, we won't be trying the Bowl location.

The highlights for us were definitely the fried pickles and the cauliflower--both were good and something I'd come back for. Everything else was just alright, hence the reason I deducted a star. We also loved that there was a pool table it added a lot to the experience but I do wish it was free instead of $2 a game. Still, not a dealbreaker.
