Loco Moco with Island Fried Chicken instead
    Mikey V.

I finally came back after 20 years. It feels different but the food is still good. I remember the place being a lot busier. We went on a Friday night and it was slow. I ordered the Loco Moco but instead of the patties I went with the Island Fried Chicken and went sunny on the eggs. It was soo good with the chicken! The portions could be better. I'd prefer more chicken less rice. Or add an option for more protein. I also ordered spam musubi and I thought it was okay. I'm definitely craving that Loco Moco again

Recently ordered takeout at the Loft. We had not had this for a while, we used to order very frequently during covid and it was very good. My Niece actually catered her wedding with food from this place a couple of years ago. I was sadly surprised that my last order of KBBQ was one of the worst servings of meat I have ever had. More than half of the so called beef, was comprised of fatty substance not meat (see photo). My wife's side of salad had a bunch of water (see photo). I don't know if there was a change in ownership, but I will not be returning. To make things worse, I placed the order by phone 20 minutes before arriving and still had to wait 15 more minutes for my order.

Great food, prepared to order. I had the Katsu chicken and Kaluah pork; both were great. The service is always friendly and fast. They also offer catering, if you are in the Cypress area, stop by and try this place. Their casual island atmosphere and great food will keep you coming back.

I've been coming here for years . It's very affordable and has a decent dining area which is something I never see in Hawaiian restaurants. Usually they are fas food type dining areas . I recommend the Island style fried chicken , Korea bbq beef and Mac salad . I also love that their sides are more elevated compared to the ones from ONo and those other places . I've also had them cater My wedding which was a really affordable option. I highly recommend them for that .

    Hair. Dark short and curly

As we were enjoying our food I noticed a hair in my food. A facial hair to be exact. It was dark short and curly. Almost looked like a pubic hair. Server was notified.. then asked me if I would like to have it remade or taken off my tab which I responded to him telling him that I would like to enjoy my meal. Food was remade. Everything was fine, upon receiving the bill I notice that I did get charged for the plate... Even though I did get the plate remade. I think it should've been taken off my bill for the inconvenience of having almost put a hair in my mouth. There was no acknowledgment or anything, even an apology. Server didn't even say he'll let the manager know or he'll let the cooks know nothing just took the plate and asked if I wanted it remade. Very disappointed with today's visit.

So much food for the money. For $14.50, I got a brick-sized portion of Lau Lau pork and a cup of salmon ceviche (aka Lomi Lomi salmon). For my sides, I ordered the macaroni salad, and a double portion of the ramen salad (a vinegar, cabbage, and top ramen combination that has a nice acidic flavor to offset the pork) to avoid having rice. Had rice for lunch. This place is a great value for the money. Such a generous portion of pork that it made two meals for me. Servers made you feel like family. Only thing I'll say is that the tables, chairs, fixtures, etc. could use an upgrade when they have the money to do so. The dining room is looking a little tired.

TL;DR - Authentic Hawai'ian food (big portions), lots of seating. Interior is kind of greasy, service can be slow, but the staff is very kind. My family is from Maui, I definitely feel the entire restaurant is awesome, with conventional dishes like loco moco, etc.

Beef short ribs , Katsu chicken and island style fried chicken with cabbage , white rice and macaroni salad .

    Yes they do

    Yeah, new cook?

    Do they have poi donuts?

Unfortunately no poi donuts, but they do have a good Hawaiian-style strawberry jello-topped cheesecake for dessert!

This is a brunch place so they close "early" (2pm as of last)and the good news is how EARLY they open I think it's at 6 or 6:30 I think they charge reasonably for the serving size, quality and taste. Great for sharing too

I had driven past this place countless times and finally decided to give it a try. Since it's right…read moreby my house, I can honestly say I'll be back. I ordered the all-day hibachi with steak and fried rice, with a side of banana pancakes. The banana pancakes absolutely stole the show. They were hands down some of the best banana pancakes I've ever had. It's surprisingly difficult to find places that actually mix real banana pieces into the batter, but these did, and they were incredibly fluffy and practically melted in your mouth. I'll definitely be ordering them again. The fried rice was also really good and flavorful. The steak was probably my least favorite part of the meal. It wasn't bad, but I personally would have liked a little more seasoning. My friend ordered the crab omelet and said it was absolutely delicious, and the chai tea latte was a great addition to the meal. One thing that surprised me was the ordering process. I was expecting traditional table service, but instead you order at the counter when you walk in. That's not necessarily a bad thing, just different from what I expected. What did catch me off guard was being prompted to leave a tip before receiving any service. Maybe I'm old school, but in a counter-service setting, I'm not always sure what the tipping expectations are. The restaurant got very crowded shortly after we placed our order, and the line at the counter started to build up. It actually made me wonder whether having servers take orders at the table would help things flow a little more smoothly during busy periods. I'm not sure if it would make a difference, but it was something I found myself thinking about while watching the crowd grow. That said, the staff was friendly, the food came out in a reasonable amount of time, and it's easy to see why this place stays busy. They have a huge menu with tons of options, so there's something for everyone. Overall, I enjoyed my experience and will definitely be back. The banana pancakes alone are worth the return trip, and next time I'll be looking forward to trying more items from the menu.
