Great Loft location - Reliable & delicious! Ordered catering for my 30th Birthday Celebration (Chicken Katsu & Lumpia). Arrived at pick-up time and it was ready to grab and go. The cashier was very polite and made sure I was set with all the sauces and utensils needed. The serving sizes are huge, trays packed to the brim. My guests loved the food and wanted to know where it was from. One thing to note is that the lumpia isn't your traditional lumpia, but it is a recipe of its own (fried rolls stuffed with pork and cabbage). Had a great celebration thanks to Loft! read more

We were looking for other locations of The Loft and found this. It is a quick service style restaurant unlike the Lakewood location where a server may take your order. The menu is definitely smaller than the Lakewood location. It also doesn't advertise that you could substitute the patties with Island Fried Chicken in the Loco Moco. But I asked for it anyways and they were able to do it and it came out quick -- faster than Lakewoods location. I liked the meat to rice ratio more than Lakewoods (which had way less meat). Unfortunately it wasn't as tasty as the Lakewood location. The Spam Musubi was better than Lakewoods. The food was still good, but if I'm craving the Loft, I'll still drive farther for their Lakewood location. read more

It's been awhile since my last review. Based on recent visit & recent catered food at a friend's party. Noticed a smaller menu. Slightly higher prices as it is everywhere. My go to is Lau lau. Order came with 2 scoops of rice & Mac salad. Still a great combo. No longer effecting lomi salmon as an addition. As my previous review stated, the pork while tender could use a dash of salt. No butterfish of course. Hubby had half a loco moco. We must be getting old because we just can't eat as much as we use to. Recent catered food at a friend's- chicken teri, beef teri, Mac salad, fried saimin were all very tasty with plenty of sauce served in the side. I've had the catered food several times & it's been great every time. My friend has had mixed feelings with the fried saimin. It's very mushy half the time, great half the time. Complaints to counter person or management seems to fall on deaf ears. My suggestion would be, when ordering to go, take a peek before you leave. Was trying to think of something I haven't had in a while for dinner and landed on the Chinese chicken salad from The Loft. Once one of my faves, I always got a scoop of macaroni salad with it, so did that today too. The chicken salad was still yummy as I remembered.. plenty of dressing and a little side of extra teriyaki. However the mac salad was horrible. It used to have that wow factor and now it has that should I keep eating this because something seems a little off factor. The majority of my experience eating Hawaiian BBQ consists of takeout from L&L and a couple visits to Tim's Hawaiian BBQ back up in Davis. I tried their Loco Moco, which is supposed to be one of their popular dishes, but was thoroughly disappointed. The hamburger patties were way too salty to enjoy and the gravy was just okay. It left a lot to be desired. But I guess you get what you pay for because their prices here are very reasonable for today's economy. I paid a little over $10 for my Loco Moco. Aside from the food, I did like the ambiance of the place. I wasn't expecting it to be a sit-down restaurant where they come take your order and serve you the food so that was kinda cool. It's not a place where young kids would go to hang, which is a plus for me. I enjoyed how cozy and familiar it felt. Just a no-frills, mid-size restaurant. This was my first time ordering from this location, and unfortunately the experience was disappointing. I had just ordered takoyaki from Neighborhood Bento and was already let down to find that it was deep-fried rather than freshly prepared. I then called in an order for the chicken with mac and rice. When I saw the macaroni salad I was given, the photo speaks for itself. The food quality was so poor that I did not eat the meal at all. Overall, the experience did not meet expectations, and I regret not sticking with the original L&L Hawaiian Barbecue. This is considered as a hidden gem. Their Korean BBQ is definitely a hit!!! But the best ever is their macaroni salad, ultra-creamy and flavorful! I would've liked to give this place 3.5 stars but we aren't able to give halves haha. I used to go to this place all the time but never been to this particular location. The main thing you should get here is the Hawaiian fried chicken. It's what they're known for and honestly the best thing. I was hoping the Katsu Teri steak was gona be fire but the ratio of meat to panko breading was seriously off. It was as flat as paper and mainly tasted like a wonton strip according to my boyfriend. The place also didn't have great ventilation so it was really stuffy and hot inside. The workers there were very friendly and the food came out pretty fast. Aloha Auina La All Ono for some Lau Lau and saw this place on Yelp, so I'll keep you posted on how everything goes Okay, I ordered the 2 item com with the Lau Lau, this comes with 2 scoops rice, mac salad, and a cabbage salad with saimin (ramen for those who don't know) The cabbage and saimin salad needs help or needs to be removed for something else, maybe mixed vegetables or Hawaiian rolls, just an idea. The Rice was good and the Mac salad was delicious. So if you remembered, in the beginning I ordered the 2 item plate and ordered double Lau Lau, they charged you $4.00 for each Lau Lau but when I received my plate I only received 1 Lau Lau. Now the portion is a good size, however the Taro leaf was tough, they didn't cook it long enough. The flavor of the pork was okay, no butter fish was added, but it was served hot. The staff if friendly, I did bring up the second Lau Lau to one of the employees and they did offer to fix the problem which shows they have excellent customer service, I opt not to except the options they wanted to give to make it right I don't eat the same thing or leftovers for the next day, the did offer a credit, but not sure when I'll be back this way. The place is clean, the food is alright, I will be back to try this place again, this was my first time here and if you know me I always say try a place twice. While we generally enjoy the food and appreciate the staff at this location, they should not be out of things on the menu at the start of the dinner hour. We called at 5PM to place an order and they were out of two of the first three things we wanted to order - Kalua Pork and Kuala Lumpia. If you run out of things at this hour shouldn't you be making more of it so that this does not happen? They regularly seem to run out of Kalua Pork so make an adjustment to your food prep already! We were so irritated that we did not place an order at all and took our business elsewhere. The Loft is a "hit and miss" experience for me. Regardless, I like this restaurant when I'm craving some Hawaiian food. The interior is clean and roomy with lots of tables. However, you can smell the disinfectants used so can be a bit unappealing. The parking area is tight and limited shared among several other venues in this small plaza. The staff are friendly and service is okay. The phoned in orders are managed well. However, I recommend do check the to-go order(s) when you place more than 4 items. A couple times, I didn't get macaroni salads or sauces were missing if you asked for as a side (e.g., loco moco). We ordered: (1) Bacon Fried Rice - a MUST and highly recommended. The portion is great, lots of bacon bits and very flavorful. (2) Loco Moco - CLASSIC and worth a try. I tend always order the Loco Moco since it's my favorite dish. The hamburger patties are often times dry and over grilled. I had to specifically request the staff for hamburger meat to be grilled "medium" so it's not overcooked to have it right. (3) Veggie Saimin - SKIP this dish. The saimin was soggy and missing the fish-cake so very disappointed. read more

5 years ago I said I'd never come back because the portions are skimpy & the prices seemed high...but here we are in 2024 and I'm beelining to Hawaiian Loft after hockey practice. The taste buds have muscle memory and HI Loft has me with their mac salad and Noh iced tea. Prices are what they are. It didn't jump while the pandemic ravaged most restaurants and prices went up for everyone else. I'm happy they made it through and are still thriving. Anyone have Hawaiian suggestions, please throw them my way! I'm always open to try something new but it's nice to have a solid backup plan. read more

The prices don't feel like they've changed at all in the past years which is crazy. my family loves to eat their grilled chicken teriyaki plates. The chicken Katsu is delicious and tender with just the right amount of bread crumbs. Unfortunately they do not do a very good gravy for the Katsu but still would recommend it. They also offer a chicken, beef or mixed plate. All of their plates come with a side salad that consist of coleslaw salad mix that has crusted up ramen noodles in it. I did not recommend the salads. The ramen noodles are uncooked. Try the potato salad instead. Served on one plate. The service is always friendly. The dining area is nice for eating in. They have several televisions. read more

Loft is our go to place whenever my family is craving Hawaiian food because it is the closest to our house and our kids' schools. It was very convenient so our kids had grown up eating there or more often ordered the food to go and ate them at home. The food is always on point! Our usual order are grilled beef teriyaki, Island style fried chicken, Spam musubi, Chinese chicken salad, macaroni salad, and bacon fried rice. I had also tried their kalbi, loco moco, and Lau lau. They were all good. The service had been good whether we ordered in or out. All the workers had been polite and helpful. The ambience of the place is very casual. We ordered full catering trays for a party 50+ people. I arrived when the restaurant opened and everything was hot and ready to go. As far as food goes, this was probably the most widely appreciated cuisine. Our order was Grilled Chicken Teriyaki, Kalua Pork, Bacon Fried Rice and Macaroni Salad. We purposely kept it simple as we had other side dishes already. After this experience, it will be hard to think of another place, besides the Loft to cater another party. My kids really wanted Hawaiian food, so we stopped by since it was close to our hotel. The customer service was amazing. Food came out fairly quickly and they're so friendly. I ordered the short ribs plate for my kids (3 &5) to split. I've never seen them eat so fast. The only complaint is the Mac salad has a little too much black pepper.
