We were looking for other locations of The Loft and found this. It is a quick service style restaurant unlike the Lakewood location where a server may take your order. The menu is definitely smaller than the Lakewood location. It also doesn't advertise that you could substitute the patties with Island Fried Chicken in the Loco Moco. But I asked for it anyways and they were able to do it and it came out quick -- faster than Lakewoods location. I liked the meat to rice ratio more than Lakewoods (which had way less meat). Unfortunately it wasn't as tasty as the Lakewood location. The Spam Musubi was better than Lakewoods. The food was still good, but if I'm craving the Loft, I'll still drive farther for their Lakewood location.

It's been awhile since my last review. Based on recent visit & recent catered food at a friend's party. Noticed a smaller menu. Slightly higher prices as it is everywhere. My go to is Lau lau. Order came with 2 scoops of rice & Mac salad. Still a great combo. No longer effecting lomi salmon as an addition. As my previous review stated, the pork while tender could use a dash of salt. No butterfish of course. Hubby had half a loco moco. We must be getting old because we just can't eat as much as we use to. Recent catered food at a friend's- chicken teri, beef teri, Mac salad, fried saimin were all very tasty with plenty of sauce served in the side. I've had the catered food several times & it's been great every time. My friend has had mixed feelings with the fried saimin. It's very mushy half the time, great half the time. Complaints to counter person or management seems to fall on deaf ears. My suggestion would be, when ordering to go, take a peek before you leave. Not even sure it would matter if not prepared properly because they don't really care. Still giving 4 stars even with verified complaints.

It's been a little bit since I've last been here. In all it's good, the chicken was a bit rubbery, but the flavors are still there, and my son could care less about the texture. :P The service and ambiance are always good here, they're quick and friendly, and the place is always clean. :)

    Full order Chinese chicken salad

Was trying to think of something I haven't had in a while for dinner and landed on the Chinese chicken salad from The Loft. Once one of my faves, I always got a scoop of macaroni salad with it, so did that today too. The chicken salad was still yummy as I remembered.. plenty of dressing and a little side of extra teriyaki. However the mac salad was horrible. It used to have that wow factor and now it has that should I keep eating this because something seems a little off factor. In fact I threw half of it away and surprised myself that I ate that much of it. I hope I don't regret it in the night I have to assume they changed the recipe in the last 5-10 years. Not a good change; I won't order that again

No stars. We ordered the "Island Hawaiian fried chicken" for our 4th of July gathering. It was very disappointing. Over cooked, dry and stale. Almost as if they didn't sell this chicken yesterday and re- fried it. We didn't notice it, prior to putting it out and boy were we disappointed. I'll add pictures to show just how dry. We would have brought it back but we were hosting. There was no time to go back.

The Loft is a "hit and miss" experience for me. Regardless, I like this restaurant when I'm craving some Hawaiian food. The interior is clean and roomy with lots of tables. However, you can smell the disinfectants used so can be a bit unappealing. The parking area is tight and limited shared among several other venues in this small plaza. The staff are friendly and service is okay. The phoned in orders are managed well. However, I recommend do check the to-go order(s) when you place more than 4 items. A couple times, I didn't get macaroni salads or sauces were missing if you asked for as a side (e.g., loco moco). We ordered: (1) Bacon Fried Rice - a MUST and highly recommended. The portion is great, lots of bacon bits and very flavorful. (2) Loco Moco - CLASSIC and worth a try. I tend always order the Loco Moco since it's my favorite dish. The hamburger patties are often times dry and over grilled. I had to specifically request the staff for hamburger meat to be grilled "medium" so it's not overcooked to have it right. (3) Veggie Saimin - SKIP this dish. The saimin was soggy and missing the fish-cake so very disappointed.

They are open as the times that are posted. If there's no answer wait a few minutes and try again. Usually means they are slammed and the other phones are currently being used. Happens cause they get busy steady foot traffic. Totally worth the wait

From the moment we walked in, she stood out for all the right reasons. Her customer service skills are genuinely top-tier--she greeted us with a warm, sincere smile that instantly made us feel welcome and comfortable. Casie has such a pleasant and approachable demeanor. She took the time to really engage with us, making sure we felt taken care of without ever seeming rushed or distracted. What impressed us most is how attentive she is--she listened carefully and offered thoughtful recommendations based on what we might enjoy. If you're unsure what to order, she's the perfect person to guide you. Her suggestions were spot-on and made the whole dining experience even better. Beyond her professionalism, Casie has a wonderful personality that shines through in every interaction. She brings such positive energy to the environment--it's clear she enjoys what she does, and it reflects in how she treats people. On top of that, her beautiful complexion and confident presence add to her overall charm, making her truly memorable. It's rare to come across someone who combines efficiency, friendliness, and genuine care so effortlessly. Casie goes above and beyond to make sure every guest leaves satisfied, and that level of service deserves recognition. Because of her, we'll definitely be returning to Matiki BBQ and recommending it to others.

One woman in particular (presumably a manager or long-time employee) was shockingly, aggressively rude in a way that's hard to overstate. She barked orders and accusations at customers with zero patience, yelling over trivial things that no reasonable person could possibly know or control. Her tone was dripping with contempt, her attitude unapologetically hostile, and her behavior screamed ignorance wrapped in unearned entitlement. Zero warmth, zero professionalism--just pure, unfiltered disdain for the very people paying her bills. No one should have to endure being treated like an inconvenience or an idiot just to eat decent barbecue. The food might be worth a try if you're willing to stomach verbal abuse, but for most of us, it's not. Her complete lack of basic decency and customer service skills makes this place actively unpleasant. I won't be back, and I can't in good conscience recommend it to anyone who values being treated like a human being. One star only because the ribs themselves don't deserve zero--but she absolutely does.

But for $20, I can get a two-meat plate with high quality white meat chicken + beef + fried egg, and feel satiated until late afternoon (might be the peptides talking tho, who knows ;) ). I always call it in, and it's always ready on time. I always get the plate combo (beef + chicken breast), with kale and cabbage salad. Rice is included. I think their mac salad is good, but not worth the upcharge. I do suggest getting extra sauce on the side, as usually the one cup they give isn't enough based on the portion. I also love ordering ahead and just grab n go. This and Urban Grill are both solid options.

When I visited on a Friday night, it was packed. The shop is on the smaller side with limited seating, so I'd definitely recommend ordering ahead for pickup. I ordered all three crispy taco musubis: Wagyu Feta, Grilled Unagi, and Crispy Calamari. My ranking would be Unagi first, Wagyu second, and Calamari third--but honestly, I'd happily order all three again. Since we ordered in-store, there was a bit of a wait, but it was completely worth it. The tacos are made fresh to order, with a large seaweed sheet dipped in batter and fried until crispy, creating a unique and delicious shell. At $9 each, they're definitely not cheap..... but they were so good that I'd gladly pay for them again lol. If I'm ever back in the area, this will definitely be one of my first stops.

Was able to submit my order promptly. I received it in about 15 minutes. Very hot and fresh. I came specifically for the musubi crunchy tacos. They've been all over my TikTok page and I've been dying to try them. I'm a huge sushi lover, so the seaweed shell had me excited. I'm going to list them from favorite To least favorite. 1. Crunchy crumble shrimp taco. Crunchy Shrimp, Crunchy crumble, cilantro-cucumber pickled, rice, seaweed, crab. This had really good flavor. I know a lot of people frown upon imitation crab. I love both. Their flavor and ingredients are on point so it doesn't give cheap. I loved the combination of shrimp with the imitation crab. Topped with spicy mayo. Their mail is made in house and you can taste the love that goes into it. If you love sushi and you love a good crunch. I feel like you could eat any sushi ingredient in this seaweed fried shell and it be delicious 8.5 no complaints. Number 2. would go to Grilled Unagi Taco Unagi, rice, seaweed, crab, cilantro cucumber pickles, sesame seeds. Drizzled with teriyaki sauce. Also made in house. This was really yummy. The combination of flavors was perfect. The crunch got me every single time. Topped with their spicy mayo in heaven. I liked the texture of the Unagi. It was very soft and buttery. Not chewy no fishy flavor very fresh. 8 out of 10. Last but not least also the most expensive was Wagyu Feta Taco Wagyu beef, rice, seaweed, feta cheese, onion, crispy arugula, cilantro sauce. This taco was my least favorite. I felt like the ingredients really didn't go together. I'm a fan of Wagyu beef and feta cheese, but the flavor threw my whole pallet off. Maybe if I would've started with this taco instead of the seafood first I would feel differently. They give you a great amount of ingredients, not skimpy with the meat. Had a nice flavor. Some pieces were more tender than others. for a taco where you don't want to worry about choking while you're eating it, I would say the slices of beef were large for a taco. Maybe not a bowl but definitely for a taco. I would suggest slicing the pieces a lot smaller so that it's easier to eat. Again everything was fresh. for a meat lover. This would definitely be a goto. I really did enjoy the first two more than this one. I would still recommend for you to try it maybe eat it first before you try any of the seafood. Overall, I had a great experience if I was in the area I would definitely order here again. Quality and ingredients and great flavor. For three tacos, I paid 31.44 I half these with my sister and we were super full.
