We were staying in an Airbnb that was very close to this restaurant. We had driven, walked and biked by it multiple times during our stay, so we decided to give it a try on our last morning in town. Even if the food was horrendous (which it was not), this place is worth going to for its spectacular views of Bar Harbor. We sat outside on the deck on a gorgeous summer morning and loved the atmosphere. I tried to order The Cadillac, but was disappointed to learn that they were out of smoked salmon, which also eliminated my backup plans. I ended up ordering the French Toast, which was fine, but nothing spectacular. My wife at the oatmeal and a toasted blueberry muffin which she really liked. My daughters had the Chocolate Chip Pancakes and the Out The Dorr Breakfast Sandwich and said that they enjoyed them, Did I mention that the view is spectacular?

We stopped for brunch, on what whim. So glad we did. Fantastic seafood chowder, lobster, and smoked salmon omelet. Great service, lovely view.

Absolutely spectacular view. Easiest 5 star review I've ever given. The staff is friendly Amos and Angela are phenomenal! Can never go wrong with a Smoked Salmon Eggs Benny or a Tequila Sunrise. Perfect destination while in Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor. We will be back celebrating our birthdays. Highly recommend!!!

The view, service, and ambiance are 5 stars. The food, well...stale bread, questionable freshness of the lobster, and the steak was bland. Just tasted old. I've had frozen steaks from a cheap corner diner that had more flavor. This was not frozen but not fresh either. Save your money, if you go, get drinks and a salad to enjoy the view.

Breakfast with a view! Small menu but good variety of options. Prices were reasonable. I had the blueberry pancakes which was a huge serving - 3 LARGE pancakes. They were good. Indoor and outdoor seating available. How to order: grab a table, scan the QR code to view the menu, then order at the bar. Food will be brought to your table but you have to cleanup after yourself. Breakfast is served until 10:30.

I often find that whenever I go against what the Yelp community recommends I am disappointed. The absolute only good thing I can say about this place is the ravishing view. The food took an hour to arrive with one dish taking an impressive hour and 15 minutes. When it did finally arrive, my dish had to be returned because a not very delicious sauce was spread all over it despite my request to put it on the side. Pancakes also arrived burnt and barely edible. However, I must mention that our waitress did her best to alleviate the situation and remade the dish with no problems. Ultimately this spot was a HUGE disappointment - a waste of great views. The food is unappetizing and definitely not worth the wait. Skip this place and go to a different location.

disappointed in the taste of the food. view was amazing and service was good but i took a sip of my latte and could not believe how bitter it tasted. couldn't even take 2 more sips. eggs benedict was OK, potatoes were the best thing about my meal.

It has nice view... but that's it. Make sure you wipe your table with wet tissue. You will see your tissue turning black. I doubt they clean the table at all. I ordered egg benedict with lobster, bar harbor breakfast with lobster, apple juice, and cranberry juice. It was $69, and paid a tip upfront. Server served us food, and i never saw him after. Everything else is self-serving. I don't know what that 15% tip was for. It's plastic utensils and paper plate, so they don't need extra water and labor to clean.. just clean the table at least.. So food.. You can see in the photo how much lobster they gave me. Without lobster it was supposed to be $13, and they charged me double for that lobster. Okay fine.. it's a restaurant, not a fish market.. but it was fishy and dry. Not worth a penny. Egg benedict is supposed to be with poached eggs with runny yolk. But no.. it's just almost full cooked- but generously to say- half cooked egg. Maybe go there for coffee and take some cute pictures cuz it does have nice view and the light makes everything look pretty. But don't go here for food. If you do, just don't order lobster.

This might have been the best meal we had on our trip to Maine!…read more A lot of restaurants weren't open yet but we came across this one. We were originally only going to order some small plates , but the one entree with fried chicken looked like something my husband would really like. Cocktails were great. Our server Eli was very friendly and helpful , he answered my questions. The lobster bisque was delicious, and I liked that it had a tempura lobster garnish and the caviar in it was a nice touch too. The tempura wasn't as crispy as I would have liked it , I think only the end part was, but still very good soup. We also got some oysters which were great with the sauces on the side. I ended up getting the halibut, which I never get at a restaurant- but it was so good! With the wakame butter, bok choy, pork belly, and sticky rice. All the flavors worked so well together! Husband got the Cantonese chicken- which was delicious as well. Very crispy, flavorful. We were so stuffed afterwards otherwise we would have got dessert. We ended up taking some Togo even though we had to drive for hours the next day. We put it in a cooler and ate some for lunch cold and it was still good. We had a great meal- i definitely recommended it.

Our waiter made our experience less than stellar - his timing for serving was off ...he brought one cocktail along with the lobster bisque- to the same person . The bread service for 12 dollars was ridiculously pricey and there were 4 pieces of bread which made us get 2 orders - pretty sad since entrees were $48 - and bisque was $22...other costs were added on? Bill was incorrect and Wait staff needs training I expected a better Experience for the cost of this meal

Their menu is surprisingly diverse and everything we tried was perfectly executed with extremely fresh ingredients. Everything is made from scratch, from the corn tortillas in the tacos to the tzatziki sauce in their lamb kofta. The cocktails were also expertly crafted. Special thanks to Nicole for remembering that my kids had nut allergies and removing the pistachios from the bruschetta without my asking. It was chilly out but the patio was warmed by heat lamps and blankets were waiting for us on our seats. We ordered the midnight cocktail, a beer, the seafood chowder, prosciutto toast, patatas bravas, and duck tacos. I enjoyed all of the items, if I were visiting again I would reorder the tacos and the patatas. I know tapas typically are served as they're ready, not all at once, but each of our items were pretty spaced out so we were only eating one plate a time. I wish they were served a little closer together. I would love to come by again on a summer night to try a different cocktail and some of the other menu items. As other reviews have stated, the drinks and tapas are a little pricey, even for the area, but worth the splurge for a romantic evening or special occasion.

Due to a young toddler and unexpected moods we ordered take out every night to avoid annoying other diners. We ordered from the Bistro three out of the four nights we stayed there. The salmon and mussels were clean and fresh in taste but filled with so much flavor. I did not bloat from salt. As for the tenderloin medallions, it was cooked to the perfect temperature we requested and was tender to bite into. My only issue was the service. The first night, when I went to pick up the food, the service was great. The individual that gave me my check and food was so delightful. But the second and third night, another individual, was rude in her responses. I understand it can be busy but there wasn't a need to respond with a tone or to look at me up and down like I have four heads. The view inside the Bistro itself was beautiful and serene. It isn't a large place but definitely date night worthy. Would definitely still recommend going but make reservations when busy.

The view? Lovely. The vibe? A little... off. The place has that "it could be nice if someone cared just a bit more" feel -- not bad, just lacking that spark (or maybe a good interior refresh). My husband, on his noble quest to sample every lobster bisque in Maine, declared this one the worst of the trip -- and trust me, the man takes bisque seriously. My beet salad with picked lobster was actually quite good, fresh and nicely balanced, which saved the meal from total disappointment. Service matched the décor -- polite enough but not exactly engaged. It had that subtle "we're doing you a favor" energy, which really pairs best with... no one's martini. Speaking of which, I had to remind our server to actually add the olives to mine. Small details, big impact, friends. In conclusion: go for the view, not the vibe. There's potential here, but it needs a little love -- and a lot more attention to the bisque.

Spend that time wandering Main Street's shops, because the wait was worth the bite. The shrimp and scallop scampi arrived swimming in garlic, butter, and pasta (perfect fuel before a half marathon). My uncle's fish and chips delivered an actual deep-fried slab of fish, somehow golden and perfectly cooked.
