Great location and view! Outdoor patio is a must if weather allows! Service was kind and efficient! The food was breakfast which was good but nothing over the top just traditional fair. Gluten free options available! It's a nice out of the way breakfast spot!

I'm still thinking about the blueberry chili sauce that came with my breakfast and the beautiful ocean view. Seemed like we had to look over our shoulders to find a server but I'd still come back for that sauce. Seriously.

We were staying in an Airbnb that was very close to this restaurant. We had driven, walked and biked by it multiple times during our stay, so we decided to give it a try on our last morning in town. Even if the food was horrendous (which it was not), this place is worth going to for its spectacular views of Bar Harbor. We sat outside on the deck on a gorgeous summer morning and loved the atmosphere. I tried to order The Cadillac, but was disappointed to learn that they were out of smoked salmon, which also eliminated my backup plans. I ended up ordering the French Toast, which was fine, but nothing spectacular. My wife at the oatmeal and a toasted blueberry muffin which she really liked. My daughters had the Chocolate Chip Pancakes and the Out The Dorr Breakfast Sandwich and said that they enjoyed them, Did I mention that the view is spectacular?

We stopped for brunch, on what whim. So glad we did. Fantastic seafood chowder, lobster, and smoked salmon omelet. Great service, lovely view.

Absolutely spectacular view. Easiest 5 star review I've ever given. The staff is friendly Amos and Angela are phenomenal! Can never go wrong with a Smoked Salmon Eggs Benny or a Tequila Sunrise. Perfect destination while in Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor. We will be back celebrating our birthdays. Highly recommend!!!

The view, service, and ambiance are 5 stars. The food, well...stale bread, questionable freshness of the lobster, and the steak was bland. Just tasted old. I've had frozen steaks from a cheap corner diner that had more flavor. This was not frozen but not fresh either. Save your money, if you go, get drinks and a salad to enjoy the view.

Breakfast with a view! Small menu but good variety of options. Prices were reasonable. I had the blueberry pancakes which was a huge serving - 3 LARGE pancakes. They were good. Indoor and outdoor seating available. How to order: grab a table, scan the QR code to view the menu, then order at the bar. Food will be brought to your table but you have to cleanup after yourself. Breakfast is served until 10:30.

I often find that whenever I go against what the Yelp community recommends I am disappointed. The absolute only good thing I can say about this place is the ravishing view. The food took an hour to arrive with one dish taking an impressive hour and 15 minutes. When it did finally arrive, my dish had to be returned because a not very delicious sauce was spread all over it despite my request to put it on the side. Pancakes also arrived burnt and barely edible. However, I must mention that our waitress did her best to alleviate the situation and remade the dish with no problems. Ultimately this spot was a HUGE disappointment - a waste of great views. The food is unappetizing and definitely not worth the wait. Skip this place and go to a different location.

disappointed in the taste of the food. view was amazing and service was good but i took a sip of my latte and could not believe how bitter it tasted. couldn't even take 2 more sips. eggs benedict was OK, potatoes were the best thing about my meal.

Spend that time wandering Main Street's shops, because the wait was worth the bite. The shrimp and scallop scampi arrived swimming in garlic, butter, and pasta (perfect fuel before a half marathon). My uncle's fish and chips delivered an actual deep-fried slab of fish, somehow golden and perfectly cooked. And then the seafood pie: crispy, flaky, golden on top in a way that looks borderline burnt but is actually just butter and scallops doing what butter and scallops do. This dish was basically chowder, piled high with fish... And some more fish, with a dash of chowder. Even the blueberry beer came through; we got Orono's Wicked Maine Blueberry Ale, packed with actual blueberries floating up and down. Yes, we paid tourist prices, but we got generous, delicious portions and full bellies.

Galyns was recommended to us by the local receptionist do the hotel where we were staying in Bar Harbor. We arrived for an early dinner at 5 pm and from the initial greeting we felt like we were in someone's home. Their menu is seafood heavy and inventive. We settled on a whole lobster as an appetizer ($36 market price) which was buttery, succulent and super fresh. The rice pilaf and broccolini that it came with were the perfect accompaniments. For the main course, my partner ordered a grilled salmon and I ordered the haddock with a lemon caper sauce. A week later and I"m still savoring the haddock. Flaky and slightly meaty, the sauce was just zesty and frothy to invite you back for another bite. The capers was an added touch and really brought the dish together. As far as the grilled salmon, you can't get fish fresher than what we had. The hostess was kind enough to steer me through a refresher course on how to crack and eat lobster (with a big on of course!). The waiter was skilled and professional, knowing when to interject, provide suggestions and provide options to make our overall experience even better. I would definitely return and can't say enough good things about the restaurant. Happy eating and bon appetit!

My only request would be some overhead lighting in the place, needed a flashlight to see the food, but it was all presented so nicely, nothing to hide! I got the tenderloin. If you like lobster and steak, (which I do) the flavors were on point. I ordered medium rare and it was textbook. This has made the top 5 restaurant steaks on my list, and I've cooked, interviewed, and let's just say... been around. The chef should be quite satisfied The wine as we were told goes in order of dry to less. The Pinot noir from Oregon was absolutely perfect to pair. Miss Elizabeth B (6/25 Review),…read more I appreciate the time you took to go scorched earth on your recent review of Table Salt in Bar Harbor, ME. It was a motivating factor to visit the establishment, enjoy a lovely meal in a lovely town, and tip heavily. You claim to be a culinary source of authority. I think it's great that you own a Subway franchise in New York City, but I might hesitate from throwing around the word 'chef' too haughtily. I mean just because one wears a cowboy hat does not mean one owns cattle, am I right? Perhaps there were dishes on the menu that one could argue were overengineered, but they tasted great! And consider that you have no idea where in the culinary journey their chef is, nor what the market needs or will bear in Bar Harbor. The place was packed. Service was great. Food was divine! On a Tuesday night. Maybe next time you visit a restaurant, leave your Michelin yardstick in the trunk of your broomstick, and simply relax. Or possibly return to Bar Harbor Bicycle Shop, another establishment you experienced through your Vantablack-colored glasses and blew up on this site. I'm sure they would zealously rent you another bike if you promised to venture into Acadia and get lost. Cheers!

However, we weren't too tired to eat it, so we had the food delivered from Side Street Cafe. So glad we did it that way cuz it was terrific... and easy to arrange ! My hubby ordered their Cubano sandwich while I ordered a cheeseburger. He loved his Cubano, which came with a side of mac 'n cheese. The mac 'n cheese was light in flavor, I think because of the kind of cheese used. I prefer more flavor, but it wasn't bad either. My( burger was quite large, and it was really tasty... very nicely seasoned beef patty, and it had all the things I like... cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle.... and catsup. I was very happy. It came with fries, but I had my fill of fries with all the lobster rolls I had ordered along the way, so I didn't eat them. Plus, there was a slice of blueberry pie calling out to me, so I wanted to blow my calories with the pie... and so glad I did cuz it was another spectacular piece of blueberry pie. Against my will, I split it with my hubby. Lol. It was a great way to end our meal. (Turns out we never got dinner that night cuz we were so full from such a nice lunch.) Side Street Cafe is definitely going on my radar if we're ever fortunate enough to return to Bar Harbor.
