I had a pretty good experience visiting the Loop in St Louis Park. Beautiful restaurant and very friendly staff. It is sad to see so many restaurants struggling at the moment being under staffed which will result in longer wait time, But they did an amazing job for how busy they were! I had the Bad Hombre cocktail that was absolutely delicious. For an appetizer I had the Bang Bang shrimp which was amazing! Prefect blend of crunchy, spicy, and sweet. Plus they give you TONS of shrimp. I was expecting maybe 15 tops but we got about 25 pieces of shrimp in our appetizer. For dinner I chose to order their #6 pizza with grilled chicken, bacon, and pesto Alfredo sauce. It was phenomenal. This could be one of the most happening places in St Louis Park area for its location closer to MN downtown that makes it easily accessible for both the city and suburb folks. To begin with the parking, if you plan to save $5 on the valet parking, you will need to drive around to the adjacent common free parking behind the restaurant and it will be a good 5 min walk back to this place. Right after we entered this place, the first impression was certainly impressive. The sight of a crowded restaurant is always a positive sign on what you can expect - the Best. Since we arrived few minutes late for the dinner, our friends had already found their seating and hence I cannot comment on the wait time. The waitress who attended to us was young and energetic and had a good handle on the menu. She catered to our vegetarian needs pretty easily. We ordered a Hummus Trio from the appetizers menu and the three types of roasted red pepper and sun-dried tomato hummus, beet hummus and the garlic hummus served along were heaven. This was followed by the Caramelized Brussel Sprouts that was soy glazed. This was when we were picking up more curiosity on how better could the specialty plate be. The Kung Pao Tofu was no exception and beat the rest, hands down. The Fresno chilies on the serving was uncalled for and we totally loved it. Me and wife, both have a taste for spice and this blew us out completely. You get all good and that does cost! This place is on the higher side of the pricing with any item being $15 upward. One other thing you will need to put up is with the noisy atmosphere. Remember, we talked about this place being crowded? First and foremost: Buffalo Chicken Wontons. Don't ask questions, just order them! Now that we have that out of the way, it was my first time at The Loop and I had a blast. My hot date and I walked in and were seated promptly. I didn't know what to expect from the place overall but I was pleasantly surprised at the versatility. You could go there completely casual or all dressed up for a nice evening out. We settled on a happy medium. The server was knowledgeable about the cocktails when I asked what was popular and what she recommended. She was also smiley and seemed very sweet. It added to the experience. We ordered Buffalo Chicken Wontons to start (I could write an entirely separate review for those, I LOVE them) and eventually settled on sandwiches for dinner. I got the Juicy Loopy which was pretty good! I liked that the toppings were on the side so I could build my own burger. Overall the experience was really cool. The Loop is one of my favorite restaurants in the St. Louis Park area. They have a great variety of American bar food and I have never had something I do not like. Their happy hour is a great deal and has a variety of food and drink discounts available. Staff is always friendly and attentive. They even accommodated our large party. I would recommend the buffalo chicken wontons, nachos, lettuce wraps, and chocolate chippers. The grilled flank steak salad is my all time favorite! There is a free parking ramp close by but you do have to walk a little bit. read more

Me and my friends came here last night, we'd previously been out on St. Patricks day and had a blast dancing the night away! Tonight was different, the security staff in the past has been rude but this was a new level. From the security guards being the rudest I've ever met in my entire life to the single worst DJ I've ever heard in any bar this was the worst experience I've ever had. For context I've helped manage a large bar in a different city, we literally would train our staff on customer experience. Whatever company this is missed any indication of that training. My friend said hi to the door security guard and he couldn't even be bothered to say hi back, just looked at her ID and kept talking to his buddy. The guards on the inside were just as rude pushing past us. The DJ played nothing but gutter hip hop and nothing new or fun, definitely not the same dj's we saw on St. Patrick's Day or our other times before. If it was possible to leave a 0 star review I would. Looks like the end of what used to be a super fun and safe bar. read more

This was our first time checking this place out. I must say that I was disappointed with my dining experience. Hubby had the Smash burger, which he said was pretty good. I, on the other hand, had the Juicy Loopy. Maybe it was a fluke, but this burger was just not good. The bun was hard and dry (I know that they toast the bun but it was beyond toasted), the burger had no cheese in the middle and was dry, as well. If you are going to attempt a "Juicy" burger, you better make sure it can hold up next to all the others in town. I will give this place another try, as I know that things can go wrong. read more

Get that Minnesota 75, so tasty and still has kick! Of the menu items I have tried, I would recommend sticking with the classic bar options and go with a burger. They cook them right and sauce them up! Just make sure to have napkins on hand. Their fries are equally as delicious, and OMG whatever pickles they serve are perfect to accompany booze, the burger, or a Cuban. However I will say, if you're a Cuban connoisseur like myself, their Cubano doesn't make the cut. Overall this is still a great place to eat and drink if you're looking for a higher quality bar experience. It shows in the cocktails, and the grade of the food. A classier suburba-food option. Came here on a Wednesday night for a work dinner with a group of 8. We ordered a few appetizers to start - nachos, bang bang shrimp, and the goat cheese. All three were pretty good. I ordered one of the salads (I forget the name but it had apples, dried cherries, etc.) and added salmon. The salmon tasted great and was a decent portion size. There was also a parking garage around the corner. The food was good. I had a burger that was cooked perfectly. The french fries were also cooked properly and were well seasoned. Service kind of slow and there were about 12-15 customers in the restaurant total, maybe to just watching football? Getting tired of fees for using a card, paying extra for somebody's health insurance (glad they have it for their staff) and suggest tips on the bill the exceed the mediocre service. Had good crisp to it but wasn't a huge fan of the bun lookin style and had more of hamburger bun feel then a sandwich. There was a lot of cheese which was great! I really like this spot in West End! I'd honestly rather eat here than places like Crave or Rojo that are just a little to chain-y for me. First, I'll say we came here on NYE and at night, this place TURNS UP. They push all the tables away and make a dance floor inside with a DJ! Hit it up on the weekends if you party in this area. We've gone here a few times for apps after intramural games in the summer with friends, and I really like their patio. Our server was very sweet and kind, and attentive. They have good deals on beers! Of course, my crew ordered their New Belgium special. The buffalo chicken wontons are good--they're not the triangle wontons you're thinking of, but more like an egg roll. Not a ton of food for $12, but hey, it's West End. The loaded nachos were HUGE and delicious! Highly recommend. Smothered in everything. I like the ambiance inside, but it is a little business-casual/dressy. After dropping off our drinks, we didn't see him again until the bill came. Just food runners coming around. The chicken sandwich my bf had was great, and my mom really enjoyed the spice in the korean beef bowl. The fish and chips orders were enormous, and pretty flavorful. The one lackluster item was the mac & cheese pizza. Needed a little extra something, garlic, or hot sauce or something. This review is for their happy hour and it was fun since we sat outside in the sun! They have a great $4 Pinot Grigio and all the appetizers were $3 off. We shared the calamari and the steak lettuce wraps and both were tasty. The calamari came with a really good chili dipping sauce. The steak was tender and had a great marinade. Had lunch with a friend here the other day. We sat out on the patio enjoying a beautiful day. I was in the mood for something relatively light. I went with the Grilled Flank Steak Salad (Braised yukon gold potatoes, arugula, grilled red onion, parmesan cheese and balsamic vinaigrette - $15.99). It turned out to be a great choice. Generous slices of nicely charred, medium rare steak were well matched with the potatoes and onions and topped by a mass of fresh arugula and drizzled with just the right amount of the piquant vinaigrette. One of the best salads I'd had in a long time. Considering the portion size and quality of the ingredients, the price felt quite commensurate. Iced tea was refilled promptly by our cordial, proficient server. Outdoor seating was comfortable. Lots of free parking to be found in the West End (although at the busiest of times you may find yourself forced to take a bit of a sojourn to more distant lots or parking ramps to find a spot). All-in-all, a high-end, hipsterish sports bar that I'm likely to revisit. In fact, glancing at their dinner menu I found tempting fare that includes Fish & Chips (Fulton beer battered cod, hand-cut fries, malt vinegar coleslaw, bread and butter pickles and tartar sauce - $15.99), Grilled Flat Iron Steak (Parmesan gnocchi, roasted mushrooms, green beans, lemon herb butter and brandy cream - $21.99) and Chicken Picatta (Lightly breaded chicken breast, mushroom, pancetta, artichoke, capers, herbs and lemon-garlic cream sauce. My buddy and I went on a Friday night about 6:30 to get dinner before a movie and the place was packed! Luckily, it was warm enough and they had a table on the porch for us to eat at. I ordered a Surly Furious from their extensive brew menu, to be followed by a Fulton Sweet Child of Vine, both solid beers. We decided to get the Buffalo chicken pizza and Cubano and split them. The place was packed, so the 15 minute wait for the food was cool, but the food was pretty darn good. The pizza was thin crust and chewy, yet very tasty and the Cuban was solid. Not the best I have had, but definitely good. The fries were super soggy, but good flavor helped with that, unless they are going for soggy fries feel. Our server was super nice and I probably would have gone 3.5 stars, but it doesn't warrant a 3 star, so I rounded up a bit. The atmosphere and hipster attitude is fun every once in awhile. Came here for lunch during the work day and I love the atmosphere. Nice open layout with many options for food and drinks. I ordered a burger like I do 90% of the time which was a grilled bison patty, bleu cheese crumbles, pickled onions, mushrooms and garlic aioli. The patty was a good size and cooked nicely with a good amount of juiciness. The bleu cheese and mushrooms were ok but I would have preferred the burger without them. The garlic however, saved this burger and paired well with the burger that was a hair on the bland side. I chose to not put in the tomatoes, onions and lettuce. Chose to get a salad instead of fries to not weight me down for the rest of the work day. Salad was average for a salad and I got balsamic dressing.
