Flavor abounds! Had the trio- both gumbos and the red beans and rice. Bits of sausage in the red beans. Seafood gumbo was so delicious. The chicken and sausage gumbo was spicy but I emptied the bowl cause the flavor was so wonderful. Hubby has the fried shrimp plate. He thought the shrimp was great tasting. Well, I was raised on Cajun food. Lived in Louisiana for a long time. So when passing thru on the way home I was excited to be able to eat some Cajun food. 1. Our server must hate his job. Bitched abt his day and wanted to go home. We ordered the boudin balls. They came out small and burnt. Horrible!! My husband got the fish poboy and I got the shrimp poboy. My husband said his was ok. Mine, not good at all. The shrimp was so tiny and tasted like frozen popcorn shrimp. The batter was so salty and the lettuce and tomato was wilted and nasty. Barely ate a half of the sandwich. . The restaurant was dirty and nasty. They had shirts on display that was covered in nasty filmy dust. The place looks like it hasn't been cleaned in years. Get the Cajun mayo. EXCELLENT choice to dip catfish bites. Had Cajun pasta, crawfish etoufee, catfish bites appetizer and beignets to go. Flavor and price perfect. Transport yourself to New Orleans flavor in Colorado. Took the beignets to go for this eve and they packaged them well for us. Super helpful server. We were deceived by the fairly high previous reviews. This was a very disappointing meal. All 3 Cajun dishes I tried were totally lacking any flavor and were mostly rice with a bland broth and a few tiny pieces of meat and fish. It may have been the worst Cajun I've ever had. read more

The food here is A+. I had the crawfish etouffee and it was spectacular. It had all of the right ingredients and flavors. It had the right amount of pop to it and went exceptionally well with the bread and rice. I also had the beignets which were excellent. I'll definitely return. read more

If I lived in Frisco, I'd eat here AT LEAST once a week (probably more). Amazing! The catfish melts in your mouth and the bisque...well I'm thinking of taking a quart or more home with me (it's somehow light, rich and delicious-yes I can taste the lobster-all at the same time). Here's a quick round-up of our experience: We ordered Gumbo & Cajun Trio which included Seafood gumbo, Chicken and sausage gumbo, and Jambalaya. It was a great choice as it allowed us to sample three different typical dishes at once. We also had the Fish po boy. Tasty and filling with the flavor showing that great attention to detail in making it truly authentic was made. The standouts were definitely the Jambalaya and the Po boy. Both the dishes were nicely balanced in flavor, having that authentic Cajun taste that's hard to replicate outside Louisiana. The Beignets were served in portions of either 1 or 3, which seemed odd at first but proved wise as they were very rich. Save room for the beignets because they are incredible, covered in powdered sugar, hot, and crispy. The service was top notch. read more

We have eaten here probably 8 times over the last couple of years and it has always been wonderful until now. Ordered the VooDoo pasta and the sauce was flat, runny and had zero flavor so we sent it back and ordered the Cajun Alfredo with chicken. The sauce was also flat, runny and zero flavor. I'm not sure what they changed but in the past it had tons of flavor and the sauce stuck to the noodles. This sauce just ran off the noodles. It was really disappointing.....we always made a point of having a meal there......If I ever go back, I won't be ordering pasta and we will have to stick to the fried catfish. read more

Been visiting The Lost Cajun for over a decade now, and the Frisco location does a great job upholding their image. They've got quite a diverse menu, so you'll find something for everyone! Staff were some of the friendliest I have ever had the pleasure of talking with. This spot immediately caught our eye on a cold winter day because there's nothing better to warm the soul than a heaping portion of Gumbo. The spice level was mild enough that adding some house hot sauce and swamp salt helped heat things up. The jambalaya was flavorful and plentiful. Our favorite part was the beignet. They were clearly freshly made and we made a mess of ourselves with the powdered sugar. The staff was kind and the service was prompt. We really enjoyed the overall experience. Ok having seen all these glowing reviews, I guess I expected extraordinary Cajun food. I was very disappointed. Husband ordered the jambalaya which was very dry and looked more like dirty rice ( he found 1 shrimp). And it was just . . . well, lackluster-very little flavor. I ordered the fried shrimp, which appeared to be pre-battered frozen shrimp from a bag. Nothing spectacular here. Even the hush-puppies were dry and overcooked. Maybe it was a one off? I don't know. We had eaten here several times over the last couple years and always been blown away at how good the food was. On our way up to Steamboat Springs yesterday we went out of our way to have lunch there. We ordered an appetizer of boudin balls and two shrimp poboys. I've never been more disappointed in a meal. The boudin balls were mostly breading and greasy. The shrimp on the poboy was the toughest I've ever eaten and the sauce was terrible. When the server asked how it was I couldn't make myself say it was good. I responded, "it's different; I've never had a poboy with pickle relish on it." She said, "oh it's home made tartar sauce." The only addition to that meal was two cans of soda and the final bill was over $75.00 without tip! I don't know what's changed but I know the previous people would not have served the food we received. Given the horrible food in combination with the inflated prices, we won't be stopping in again to try something different. Really bummed that the Lost Cajun has Lost Appeal for us. :( read more

Service was superb. Food was great. That chix and sausage gumbo was really good, definite best on the table. We also tried the jambalaya and the seafood and chips platter, which were just ok. Lobster bisque was creamy and the portion was huge. The kids loved the voodoo pasta. The sausage was apparent in a few of the dishes we ordered, and it had some heat. There's a little text blurb at in the menu stating there's a 20% surcharge for to-go orders "to cover the cost of the supplies needed to package your meal." Surely, the paper box was over $3 for these guys. That's how my $16 sandwich became $23.11. Otherwise, it was pretty solid! My zydeco shrimp po-boy was on par with ones I've had in Houston and Louisiana. Nothing too crazy, but it's not like it needs to be. It was pretty quick too, as they said 15 minutes but I got there in 10 and it was ready. read more

Y'all lied! I saw the great reviews and we were excited to try this place. The hush puppies came out burnt. The oil they were fried in appeared to be old. It's so hard to mess up a classic red beans n rice but somehow this place managed to do that. Zero flavor. My son and I ate less than half of our meals. Very cute place, and had I based this review on the beignets alone, I'd give 5 stars and mention that they rival the best of the best in New Orleans. The gumbo did not. I would not have bothered to write a review but it's not ok to advertise something as "seafood" gumbo, getting customers expectations in place, and then offer a gumbo that contains very little, if any, visible seafood. I mention "very little" to be generous, but if it was there, I could not locate it. And for 9.00 a cup, leaving the false advertising out of it, one expects to get what one orders (or would not order otherwise). Secondarily, it's very awkward to have someone at the door, ready to take to go orders, who presents a customer with a bill and then points out that, after the customer signs the bill and elects not to leave a tip, that the tip section was left blank. Having this brought to my attention is awkward at best and not appreciated. Nevertheless, I did tip, because my East Coast upbringing has made me cynical about what happens to one's food when one does not act accordingly /otherwise complains. Again, not OK. As an aside, I tend to tip generously when dining in. I typically don't tip when placing an order to go. If there is something unique about Colorado that I'm unaware of when it comes to how restaurant employees are paid, please ignore the above as I am just passing through. read more

The beignets here are the best we have ever tried! They are huge, fluffy, and just right! If debating on chocolate or honey for the sauce, go with the chocolate! Also the little French bread slices that goes with the gumbos was so divine! Wish they gave more of it though! read more

My boyfriend and I stopped in here out of the blew after a day on the mountains, the food and service was amazing! We had the Voodoo pasta and Creole and they both were fantastic along with the beignets and Cajun fries. 'Nawlins, Mud Bugs, Cray fish, Mulates, Zydeco Recently, we discovered the Lost Cajun in Frico, and I suggested to the owner that he might consider Breckenridge, Vail, Avon, or Edwards. Today there is an honest 'Nawlins restaurant (The Lost Cajun) in Frisco, Breckenridge, and Edwards. In our view, the Frisco Lost Cajun is just too small, and the owner should lease a larger property. The Breckenridge Lost Cajun is difficult to find because it is on the lower lever of an older mall, whose upper tenants have left or moved. Now if one is approaching from the Blue River path, your nose will lead you to the Lost Cajun. The third location is in Edwards, directly across the street from the Gore Range Brewery. The Edwards location seems to be doing great business, and requires outdoor seating. We like the Edwards location. It almost as if one is in Mulates in 'Nawlins. All tables are presented with a complimentary sample of seven 'Nawlins dishes. We both choose the Crayfish Etouffee! I keep telling the owner that Crayfish Etouffee! Is spelled with a Y and not a W. The Edwards location looks like a 'Nawlins restaurant, and almost sounds 'Nawlins. Gotta add a lot more Zydeco to the music, and gotta add three times the Mud Bugs to the Crayfish Etouffee! The owner is doing all the serving, busing, and instructing the young "cook." We guess the owner loses ten pounds a day; and we hope that The Lost Cajun becomes a modern day gold mine. I called to place a to go order, using an online menu i found online. Ordered 4 items picked them up and was charged $84. I thought it was off but they were busy and we were hungry. Got home and checked prices, my total came to $62. Called the restaurant to ask about difference. She said my prices just changed and the she has no affiliation with website. So i asked her to state the new prices. It was a $5 difference. So now we are at $67, still not $84. She said there is a carry out fee of 15%. I said there was nothing inline about that and she did not mention when I called. She said it's on all her new menus. I told her i ordered over the phone, there was no way for me to know that. Even with 15% and 3% tax still not at $84. She then hung up on me when i asked for a partial refund. In addition, been to NO dozens of times, food was a very poor attempt, best thing was fried pickles. Stay away so you don't get ripped off too. read more
