Today's cafe - The Lost Draft. I was looking for a cafe with wifi while meeting up with my sister since she had an online meeting. Saw this place on Yelp w/ pictures of people on their laptop and glad I visited! The vibes in here are good. It's peaceful, with music playing pretty loudly that it drowns out the noise of people talking. There's a lot of seating and basically everyone that comes in here comes in to work on their laptop. Perfect for a hot day since they got the air conditioner blasting at a perfect temperature. I ordered a matcha latte with oat milk. It was okay. I think it could use more matcha as it mostly tasted like oat milk. I also ordered a carrot cake muffin which was good, not too sweet. Service was quick. I could see myself coming here again to do work as there's not many cafes in the area that allow laptop work. I'll try the coffee drinks next time. read more

I popped in here the other night about an hour before closing time, and it's very cute, though there was a section that was kind of roped off with trash bins and cleaning supplies (right by the entrance). It was odd and totally took away from the rest of the space. They have lots of tables to sit at and bar stools along the counter. As for their menu, they have coffee and tea selections along with pastries. I got a chai latte and it was very good. I swear it's almost impossible to find a café in the city that actually allows you to work. Came across Lost Draft and was pleasantly surprised--it's super laptop-friendly. They have bathrooms, tons of seating, and WiFi with purchase (they say it's limited to 90 minutes, but I definitely saw people staying longer). There's also a private phone room in the back if you need to take a call, which is a huge plus. Coffee was decent. Not mind-blowing, but solid. Great spot for the purpose it serves. read more

I'm a coffee aficionado and a long time city resident. I've been to many coffee shops across the city, but this is the first time that I've visited a place where the staff have so much attitude. I ordered a hot Osmanthus latte and received an iced latte. I wanted to raise it with the barista but they'd already started chatting with their colleague. When I finally found a table, I saw on my phone that I did order a hot latte so I told the same barista who served it to me and acknowledged that I thought I got confused. Instead of apologising for their mistake, they looked at my cup and snappily said, "You've already finished half of the drink..." (I'd only taken a few sips.) I just let it go, albeit only because I don't find it worthwhile to condescend to people with no basic decency. Pretty open space with tables and outlets below and there is a small area in the back with some tables as well. There is a booth that is like a quiet room and it's just all layed out very well. The staff that work here are nice and helpful. I asked their opinion on what to get to drink. I ended up getting a Honey Rose Latte ( hot) with regular milk. WOW this tasted delightful! And not to mention very pretty and they put dried rose petals I think they are on top to garnish the drink. I would try this drink iced too. They also had other speciality drinks that sounded wonderful. I did get the egg bites with cheese and peppers but they were not that tasty and kinda cold too. Nice vibes overall, loved the playlist they had going on, and nice place to study - if you prefer a quieter scenery, maybe this is not what you're looking for, though some noise-cancellation headphones did the trick. However, it is a bit harder to get a table on the weekends. We first started off at the bar (unfortunately, no outlets), and eventually moved to a table after a bit. They have coffee, tea, and different food items - I got the sesame latte, which was good, though I could not taste much of the sesame. My friend got the Osmanthus coffee, which was sweeter than mine, where you could taste it more. I hate leaving negative reviews, but one particular staff member was very condescending when I asked if he would recommend the strawberry matcha latte. Only to receive a drink that was very watered down... He maintained his pretentiousness with every subsequent interaction I had over my time in the cafe. I completely respect their 90 minute limit policy, however, it felt enforced sparsely despite my group and another girl arriving at the same time and only we were told to leave or buy something else. There are some kind staff, like this rlly nice girl with ginger hair, who just are clearly following the rules of the shop, but I'm genuinely baffled by the rudeness of others. Before entering I expected a cramp and dark coffee shop with limited seating. From the moment I opened the door my expectations were changed immediately. Up a few steps of stairs is a large, open space filled with writers and creatives. Most people had on headphones and focused on their screens while their fingers switched between a continuous rhythm of keystrokes and lifting coffee cups. Staff were helpful but seems a little distracted until you're very direct with placing an order or asking questions. The long bench that runs down almost the full length of the cafe was under construction. Nonetheless there was amble seating for everyone, those coming in to pick up a drink and leave and those writing the next great American novel. The food and pastries also looked delicious. Must I say, this coffee was delicious- they added rose pieces in the coffee itself but you definitely get a good strong cup of coffee, with just the right ratio of milk to coffee for the latte. Iced Osmanthus latte- 3.5/5-The Osmanuthus was good but i feel like it was too watered down with the tea and the milk doesn't pair well with ice. I should've got it hot instead. Cold brew-2.5/5- The cold brew tasted like it was the day before and it wasn't good like my S.O said. The workers were nice and friendly. They have ample seatings, big tables, free wifi, power outlets, and a restroom, making it an ideal spot to study or wfh. We were there an hour before they closed and received free popcorn. Love that their barista poured cute latte art on our cups. They also serve some unique beverages like Osmanthus Latte, which I might give it a try next time. Girl she's pricey! I appreciate craft coffee and prefer independent cafes. The drink list is small and speciality drinks are the thing here. Choose from a couple basics or one of their signature drinks. I had the honey rose latte iced with oat milk - cha ching - $10.26 . Didn't realize this would turn out to be a meal replacement coffee lol. Service- No smiles from staff when I walked in, no hello just blank stares ,so strange. Place was busy not swamped though. When it was my turn at the register the lady was very friendly and sweet. My order was ready quickly, in fact my name was called for pick up while I was still rifling through my wallet for tip money. My latte looked so beautiful, I double checked with the server that it was indeed oatmilk. I had already fallen in love with aesthetics of the latte and didn't want to hate this place based on a dairy milk mix up . I don't usually have anything sweet in my coffee but this was delicious, the honey syrup was at the bottom and I initially sipped up most of it without stirring. The rose petals on top made me not want to stir it. For $10.26 you must understand this is a high maintenance coffee, one just doesn't stir her around recklessly and ruin her beauty. The rose flavor is mild and not artificial tasting - it was quite lovely. It felt like a treat. The Cafe is spacious, lots of seats most were occupied and I didn't intend on staying when I first went in. I love the whole vibe of this cafe. It embodies the concept shop, of the bittersweet moments that come with being a writer and fretfully typing away at multiple drafts. The inside, true to its name, has a lot of bar seating that was quite full when I walked in on a weekday afternoon. I greeted the person taking my order and they didn't respond or even look at me until I started ordering. Authentic artsy city experience or what? The sesame latte was fantastic, truly captures the nutty, sweet, almost savory sesame flavors. It was slightly sweetened but not overly sweet. The texture was definitely overwhelmingly sesame as well (gritty, but creamy). While it wasn't the absolute best latte I've ever had, it definitely was a love letter to sesame. Luckily I love sesame but I would opt for one of their other signature drinks if you aren't a fan.
