Great little hole in the wall. The food was excellent (I highly recommend their jalapeno burger.) The reason I didn't give a full 5 stars was because the seat cushions in the booths have bought the farm like years ago. This quaint downtown Mt Vernon restaurant caters to the gluten-free customer. I got the chicken bacon ranch and my mom got the club. The sandwiches were good but the fresh-cut fries were AMAZING! The sandwiches were very reasonable - only 9.50. The service was great- so friendly ! They followed all the Covid rules and we sat outside in the cute alley way. We will come back. read more

Coming up to check out the tulip festival. We were so starving after being stocked in the traffic for an hour. We walked into this family business diner randomly since it's close to the festival information office. I ordered a farmers omelet! OMG, the food was so fresh and tasty !!!!! Staffs were friendly! We liked it a lot. Classic diner food, and so worth going back. Customer service is fantastic they really want you to be happy. I had the patty melt, and my man had the Reuben. The fries are yummy crispy and hand cut, we saw him preparing them. I love that the kitchen is open and you can see how clean the chief is as he cooks. Today was my second visit to the diner. On my first food was very good but the service was slow. Waitress kept us updated on our order. My husband loved the homemade soup. We decide to put in our lunch rotation. Today we return. Service was terrible. Waiter had trouble with hand held ordering computer, ended up taking it down by hand. Dont know what happened to our order. 40 mins After placing our order I went up to the cash register to inquiry about our order since the waiter seemed to be ignoring us. We were told that they have only one grill and asked for order again. My husband had ordered soup and salad and I ordered a salad as well. They said the would get right on it. After watching and waiting another 10 mins several more orders come out of the kitchen and none were ours. No one came to update up us, we walked out. I can't rate the food since we never got ours. From the time we entered the diner, ordered our food and left we had been in the diner for 1 HR and 15 mins and never got any food . read more

The Hubs and I enjoyed our breakfast. Walked right in at 9:45 am on a Saturday. I had Country Bowl special(country potatoes under scrambled eggs covered with sausage/onion gravy)with sourdough toast which was tasty and more than I could eat. He had chicken fried steak,eggs,hash browns with a homemade biscuit . We watched them shredding the potatoes! Breakfast was served Hot and fresh. What a great little gem for Mount Vernon. Cute 1950's style diner; clean, friendly staff, awesome food! Pretty cool to see them cooking right in front of you, too. Definitely get the biscuits. The breakfast bagel sandwiches were darn tasty as well. We were in and out within 30 minutes, and we were happy to take our time and not feel rushed. My Daughter and i went to this diner a few days ago. We both had the Country Fried steak and Eggs. It was the Best, The poached eggs were perfect and the whole staff was very nice and attentive. Just good diner food. Cozy inside and feels like a small town local diner. Great food to go with it too. I had the Reuben with their tomato basil soup and both were delicious. I love this place! I have been going there for over 13 years. Everything on the menu is good and the staff is always great. I really like their coffee!
