My family of 4 (with two teenagers) had a fantastic day. Jackie was our guide for the full day and she catered our tour to our interests. We didn't know what we wanted to see and do, but Jackie took care of us! We were able to do a little of everything. Sampling cocoa, roadside stand with amazing banana bread and coffee, black and red sand beaches with a swim in the ocean, and swimming at the base of a waterfall. The stops we made were not overcrowded with large tour groups. While the road is very curvy, Jackie's drove so well not one of us was car sick (and two of us easily get motion sickness). This past Sunday, we had the pleasure of the Magic Of Maui Experience taking us on the Road To Hana. We had read many people saying rent a car and drive yourself using the app, to that I say not a good idea. My wife and I were both able to enjoy all of the views and all of the sites that were pointed out to us by our amazing driver/guide/new friend Patrick! If you're driving yourself, you're missing out. From the moment we booked this the owner, Dana, was exceptional in her communication and assistance in making sure this was the right tour for us. Patrick did an excellent job of taking care of us customizing our tour and making sure we saw everything we wishes to see and things that we never would've dreamed of seeing! In the past, I've had some challenges with motion sickness and had mentioned this to Dana, and upon arrival, Patrick had actually set up so that I could ride in the front seat if I was worried about the motion sickness issue. While I decided to ride in the back with my wife, it was a very thoughtful way to begin our day. There are too many stops to call them all out, but one that really will be remembered is when Patrick took us to be up close to Rainbow Eucalyptus Trees and picked us fresh strawberry guava's, that we had never had before, but they were wonderful. Patrick also provided some insight for stops that we would've never thought of such as Uncle Russell's Legendary Huli Huli Chicken for an awesome lunch and for amazing Dark Chocolate at the all organic self sustainable cacao farm East Maui Chocolate. Magic of Maui tour was the most priceless experience I have ever had. Owner Dana took all care to listen to our needs and make sure we were well looked after. Danielle our driver was amazing and made our day so special. We wanted to spread our pets ashes somewhere but our cruise line said we couldn't bring them so I reached out to Dana and she said absolutely it would be our honor to receive them so we mailed them the week before. Our entire day as drove through all those beautiful sites we talked about our pets and laughed and joked all while knowing at the end of the road we would be sad but happy to leave them behind. Danielle took us to great cafes and we also stopped and ate amazing local foods along the road including poi mochi, fresh coconut, local made brittle and the very best pizza of my life from Hanna Fresh! We hugged the mamma rainbow tree, patted the local cats, hiked the bamboo forest, saw sooooo many waterfalls and so many turtles. When it came time to set our fur babies free we found the perfect spot and were greeted by an army of cats and given one of our ashes was Duke the cat we knew this was the perfect place for him to rest. Then we hiked down to the black sand and found a cave for Bootsie and Joey to be set free as the waves came in and took them out. Danielle had brought rose leaves and she scattered them on the ground and played her sound bowl while we said a little prayer and said goodbye. We then ended the day swimming in a waterfall we had to ourselves. Danielle took incredible photos all day and boy they were amazing. Such special memories. We laughed, we cried, we lived, we loved and we left having made a friend for life and having reveled in the beauty and spiritual vibrance of this stunning island. Magic of Maui made sure this nervous passenger handled those curves without a single second of anxiety. Absolutely worth the money for a priceless experience. Having done driven the "Road to Hana" in the past, my wife and I were looking for a company that could not only do the driving for us but to show us things that only locals might be aware of. BOY, DID THAT PAYOFF!! After doing tons of research looking for the "right" company, I came across The Magic of Maui Experience and Dana, the owner. I simply reached out to her to explain what we were looking for and within no time, it felt as if I knew her for years. Her life and energy was vivacious and her care and concern to make this a "special event" was overwhelming! She took the time to get to know "our story" and who we were so she could orchestrate the kind of tour that would fit us as a couple. She tailors each trip to her customers. (The way any Private Tour SHOULD be) It isn't about her, but it is about those seeking the help of a local to show them the time of their life!! She arrives so prepared, you would think she is Mary Poppins! Constantly, she is reaching into her "bag" and pulling out snacks, clothing, water flasks, sunscreen (safe for the coral), bug spray, towels, and even inflatable tubes...you name it, she carries it! Whatever it takes to have a grand trip, she was prepared! As we started our journey, we traveled in an Audi with a panoramic roof. Glass all around us to not miss out on anything. Our first stop was to see the monstrous turtles as they come up on the beach. These beautiful creatures are magnificent and we were warned of the laws that protect them so we kept our distance but got some beautiful pictures. Dana takes tons of pictures so that is another thing you don't have to worry about. She documented our entire journey and then sent me the photos, free of charge (unlike some companies). Pictures are priceless and only add to the joy and remembrance of the day. Thank you Dana for allowing me to simply enjoy the time and not have to be looking and stopping to try and set up selfies. She was our own professional photographer as she knew where and what to set up the "perfect shot"! Like I said, Dana caters to what works for you. If you like jumping off waterfalls or simply like to put you feet in the ocean, she makes the "Magic" happen. We walked through a Lava tube that was hidden beneath a banyan tree (and guess who had flashlights to guide us through!) We came out in a beautiful bamboo Forrest and found a hidden river and a huge swimming hole...with no one else around. We saw, and swam in a gorgeous red sand beach where the water looked like Greece. It was a majestic blue and churned through the rugged lava stone that rose like pillars up through the sea. Hidden waterfalls that were just beyond the things everyone else was at. There was so much to see, I can't share it all, but definitely know this...The Magic of Maui Experience was all that the title says!! That happens because of the GUIDES and their dedication to MAKE that magic happen. This trip hit all the expectations and felt as it you were able to grab the ring on the carousel multiple times!! This trip to Hawaii, was for our 38th wedding anniversary. Dana helped us to CONTINUE that magic that we found 38 years ago in our last trip to the island. My family and I were looking for a tour that included the road to Hana and a trip to Haleakala for either sunrise or sunset. The Magic of Maui Experience, Half Day Road to Hana and Haleakala sunset tour was worth every penny! She took family photos all along the way that we will cherish forever! Dana made our tour truly memorable! We did the reverse Road to Hana tour and highly recommend it. She catered the tour to the stops and sights we wanted to see. The van was packed with snacks, drinks, and anything you could possibly need along the way. We really enjoyed meeting her friend Randy at his coconut stand. She takes you to so many spots that feel very exclusive, with the highlight being a short hike to a spectacular secret waterfall where we were the only people. This was easily our best day in Maui. BEST DAY EVER! This is a MUST do tour!! Our guide, Matt, was amazing! We knew very little about the Road to Hana going into this but Matt knew exactly what we needed. Both of our kids had a blast and have not stopped talking about how fun their day was. His energy is nonstop! He climbs waterfalls to allow your children to jump off. He spends time entertaining your kids while you relax on the beach. He caters the trip to your wants and needs. He drops you off at the busy spots and then figures out parking. The guy simply works his butt off to make sure you enjoy the trip. Not only does he work hard to make sure you enjoy the things you do, but he also must have a PhD in Maui history because the guy knows everything. We were stopped briefly on the road due to maintenance on the road and he had us all out of the car eating crazy fruit, smelling root beer plants and playing with some sort of fly trap plant. I cannot recommend Dana and David enough!! I was referred to them from a travel agent in Honolulu in January of 2022. I was visiting Maui extremely last minute and had no ways of navigating the island. If you do not plan in advance it is difficult to navigate Maui as it is rural and many sites need bookings in advance (nothing like Honolulu). Dana and David booked me 1 day before my trip to Maui and took my family and I on an adventure of a lifetime. Given our last minute and limited stay in Maui they went above and beyond to make sure we could see and experience as much as possible. David picked us up straight from the airport and began our adventure with pit stops at jaw dropping views over looking the different islands off the coast of Maui. He drove with the utmost care and patience. As a family of 3 women, David made us feel comfortable and safe. We proceeded onto the road to Hana which was breathtaking. David was knowledgeable throughout the tour and gave us information on the island, the people, and sites we visited. The tour included snacks for the road (I will never experience potato chips quite as good as Maui Sweet Onion chips!). The tour also included visits to waterfalls, black sand and red sand beaches, wild sea turtle watching, cliff jumping, 7 Sacred Pools, private hiking trails, really off the grid yet tourist focused spots. David was patient and accommodating with all our needs (including our millions photos). The tour also came equipped towels and extra clothes in case anyone needed. Dana and David are phenomenal tour guides who really care about their guests and ensure you have a fabulous and safe stay in Maui. They're friendly, patient, down to earth, and know how to show you Maui! I highly recommend experiencing Maui with them. DA BEST!! As someone who has been on the road to Hana a few times, I wasn't quite sure what to expect when booking a tour. Let's just say that Dana did not disappoint. This was my 3rd time to Hana but it was my partners 1st, so I decided to book a tour to see what they were all about. I've looked into group tours before, but when I found out that Dana does personal, customized tours I was sold! Dana picked us up right at the condo, and took us to a great little coffee shop, and then we were on our way to experience the magic of Hana. Dana's energy is so positive and welcoming that you immediately feel comfortable with her. The best part of this tour is that Dana knows all the hidden gems along the way, places you wouldn't be able to go with a big group tour. We made a few stops before grabbing an early lunch. We stopped at Kahaku's Smoke Shak which is a small place on the side of the road that I would have never known to stop at if it wasn't for Dana. This was by far the best BBQ chicken and pork I have ever eaten! We then went on to our next few stops which included an amazing overlook that allows you to see in all directions, the black sand beach, and the red sand beach. For me the real magic happens when Dana takes you to the beautiful Venus pool and lastly to a secret waterfall. A long overdue review but my experience with Dana was in October 2018 and we intend to visit her again next trip! Communication with Dana was excellent from the start, we shared what activities we're interested in, and she curated a one day experience I could never come up with after all the research in the world. From the first phone contact to the last minute with her, Dana was a top notch tour guide who we now can call a "friend!" She showed us the best of Hana! Been to Maui 6 times but this was our first trip to Hana! If your going to see it, give her a call and make it happen! She packed everything in her backpack which allowed us a hands free experience! She had our backs with snacks, drinks, and food and ice cream stops along the way. We didn't go hungry and were never bored! She's a great conversationalist on top of it and had us giggling at some of her experiences. She has the driving and the route down pat and we never felt unsafe on those roads to Hana.
