Updated because it looks like my original review was removed somehow. Also, I continue to find more and more issues with The Maids $885 "deep cleaning" after they ghosted me when I complained the next day. I replaced my bathroom lightbulbs on the hanging light fixture yesterday and there was a LAYER of dust on the top-clearly untouched. I moved a tiny baby's toy box and there was dirt/crumbs behind it-clearly the "maid's" had not moved ANYTHING during their $885 "deep clean." Frankly embarrassing for them to even offer this service and for all intents and purposes, a complete fraud. ORIGINAL REVIEW: We scheduled a "deep cleaning" service with your company today. Prior to the appointment, we called and spoke with a friendly woman to explain two key concerns we wanted addressed: 1. A significant pile of dust on a high ledge on our second story that our regular bi-weekly cleaning service has been unable to reach. We were assured that the cleaning team would bring a two-piece tool--and ideally a third extension--to access that area. 2. Wiping down frequently touched areas such as cabinet handles, door knobs, and baseboards, particularly where our children leave fingerprints. Please note that our home was professionally cleaned less than a week ago, so it was already in good condition aside from those specific requests. We were quoted approximately $415 for the service. Upon arrival, I reiterated our priorities to the cleaning team. They informed me that they had no knowledge of the dust issue and had not brought any equipment to address it. They also implied I was mistaken or fabricating the prior conversation, stating that the owner is male and that I could not have spoken with a woman. When I confirmed I had, they pressed me for her name--something I hadn't thought necessary to note during what I expected would be a straightforward interaction. More troubling was that the team made no effort to find a workaround or solution for cleaning the dust pile, leaving one of our primary concerns completely unaddressed. I also again pointed out the smudges and buildup on doorknob areas, cabinet handles, and baseboards and asked them to clean these spots. I even demonstrated how easily the dirt could be removed using a wet paper towel. I also inquired whether they had a product or tip for removing a stain from my child's carpet, but was told they had neither the supplies nor any advice to offer. Roughly an hour and a half later, they told me the primary bathroom and upstairs were complete. However, when I checked, the problem areas still had visible dirt. I again pointed this out and asked for it to be addressed. At that point, I was told it would take an additional 30 minutes and cost $190 more. I agreed--on the condition that the job be done thoroughly. The cleaners ultimately left around 2:45 p.m., having been at our home for about 2.5 hours. We were charged a total of $885--more than double the original estimate. This evening, I noticed that the only dirty dish in the house was left sitting in the sink, unwashed, despite a completely empty dishwasher. More concerning, many of the high-touch areas I'd highlighted remained untouched. I've taken photos showing this, as well as follow-up photos demonstrating how quickly I was able to clean these spots myself using nothing more than a wet paper towel. Given how clean our home already was, I'm left completely puzzled as to what was actually done during the visit. I ended up spending my evening doing the work we hired and paid your team--at a premium--to perform. I'll also now need to find another service to address the dust issue that was entirely ignored. In short, we are extremely disappointed--both by the quality of service and the final cost. The fact that my account of the pre-service discussion was challenged, and my integrity implicitly questioned, only added insult to injury. I would appreciate a prompt response regarding how your company intends to resolve this. read more

I've used this company for over a year. They started out doing a great job. The last 3-4 times they've cleaned I've had to go around and clean things they missed. Not only that, they left my back patio door completely open and critters and more dirt got into my house afterwards. WARNING: THEY DONT CLEAN CABINETS awful. We used them before this corona pandemic started. Back in October 2019 we needed them to assist us with cleaning before our move. 80% of our dishes, INCLUDING MANY CLEAN ONES IN THE CABINET, were sloppily trashed. They did lackluster work and we were billed for $700. On top of that, we received a nasty message from whomever handles their schedules and what not. Terrible company. ***Update I forgot to update this review until now, but come to find out, when I searched The Maids website, I was actually directed to The Maids in Garland (I believe). I don't know why I wasn't directed to the one in Dallas, but I was not. I was actually dealing with the Garland office the whole time but did not know it. If you use The Maids, be sure and double check which office they send you to, it could be the difference between being satisfied and being yelled at. To be fair to the Dallas office, I changed my review to 4 stars since they reached out to me and attempted to resolve the matter (despite it not being their problem) ****Here is the original review that I will repost on Garland's Maids Yelp page I am shocked and pretty pissed after my experience with the maids. They originally told me they would send 4 people, but 7 showed up to clean a 900 square foot apartment. 900 square feet apparently costs 300 bucks, and don't expect the trash to be picked up, the trash to be taken out, or the dishes to be done. I was given an estimate of 160 (which was really high), so when I questioned my 300 dollar invoice, she explained that 160 was per hour. I accepted that, but they had only been cleaning an hour and a half. When I questioned my invoice, I told her the invoice was 40 bucks off. So they put a lady on the phone who screamed at me that I HAD to pay them so they could leave. I swear on my life, the lady actually yelled at me to pay the invoice. I told her the invoice was 40 bucks off (it was already well over 300 bucks) and she just continued to yell at me and call me a liar. After they left, I inspected everything, and I realized what a half assed job they did. Dishes still in the sink, they barely vacuumed upstairs (it was only one room and a tiny hallway. There was still trash out on the counter, a stack of hangers in the room (at least put them in the closet), The other three reviews are obviously fake and written by someone who works for the maids. I have used their service for years (3.5 at my current house alone) but it seems that recently the cleans are less thorough. If I remember correctly the branch that serves my area was recently acquired by the larger Dallas-Fort Worth franchise. It's very expensive. Complete waste of money and time. Had "The Maids" come clean my home, they didn't even do it to what they promised. I watched them not even clean on top of my kitchen cabinets when they left there was still dust up there what happened to "top to bottom cleaning"? There was also still dust on my shelves, I don't have but a few items on my shelves but they clearly just dusted around the items. One of my bathroom was completely untouched and my tile floors were sticky sounding when waked on. I'll call another company next time. read more

****UPDATE**** 7/15/16 Since talking to Jona at The Maids, she has really gone above and beyond to resolve this issue for me. I am extremely grateful for her professionalism and level of customer service she provided to me and the way she has handled this situation to make it better. I had them come back out and do another cleaning and this time it was what I had expected, the team that was here was very detailed. Everything that was discussed was done and the previous mistakes corrected. They took care of all the small things to make sure nothing was missed. If this is the level of service that's provided every time I would without a doubt recommend them to anyone and would hire them back again. Oversold and under delivered. I'm pretty upset that I paid $390 for what I would refer to as a basic cleaning... vacuuming, barely dusted (see pics), bathrooms cleaned, floors mopped. I asked for a very detailed clean due to remodeling in our home and a baby on the way in less than a month, I was told that my walls would be wiped down (they weren't), my baseboards cleaned (they weren't), my cabinets cleaned (wiped down but still lots of dusts and food stains), everything dusted (that's debate-able, some things were and some things look like they weren't even touched), vacuum (done but some areas not touched, see pics), sink cleaned BY TOOTH BRUSH (nope, I watched and see pics), bathrooms cleaned (this was actually the best cleaning of it all but still disappointed to see hair still in my sink), among other things I was promised that fell short. I understand that yes I have animals and dust and hair is inevitable in my house but that's not my issue my issue is if I had hired them to do a basic cleaning that was subpar, let alone me hiring them to do a construction detailed clean. Don't get me wrong the ladies that came were very nice and professional and I appreciate the work they did because I know we had a lot to do in our house but I was oversold on what could and would be done during the two hours they were here and I am not happy with that. If you want to hire this company for a basic cleaning I say great go for it, they are overpriced but they'll get the job done, mostly. But I do not at all recommend for any type of detailed cleaning. read more

The only reason I am giving three stars is to help people not make the mistake I made. For some reason when I called to setup, the cost I heard was an hourly rate and not a total (which is what I thought). Later I find out this happens often. So when I saw the finished bill, you can imagine how surprised I was. They did an awesome job, but for the average household this service is not affordable. Not only are their services over priced, they charge sales tax. I've never been charged sales tax for hired labor. $160/hr is a bit steep in my mind. read more

I called them for a move out service and they did a horrible job. None of the cabinets and doors were cleaned, did not cleaned the webs, and did not clean the shelves in the closets too. A super expensive and highly unprofessional attitude. The lady in the office said they come only for 3 hrs and whatever is done is done else they would charge for every single minute.A crew of 3 people to clean 2900 sqft house within 3 hrs was not enough and neither was the work satisfactory. Where is the zero star option? Watch out for these people! Who doesn't know that you can't scrub a copper sink with Comet? Huh? And when they ruin your home, they will dance behind every kind of shenanigan possible to get out of paying for the damage. The housekeepers aren't properly trained especially in luxury finishes and materials, they receive an unfair wage compared to what the owners pocket and they are working for crooks! I have now had The Maids in for cleaning approximately 8 times. I went down with knee surgery on August 20, 2015. It has been very nice to know that someone will show up every week. Unfortunately, it is always someone different. The office calls, not the cleaners, the day before the team is supposed to show up. Yes, the house is clean every time, but different teams just put in a different effort. I thought I could request a team if I really liked them, but "they were not normally scheduled in my area", so I lost the team I REALLY liked. There is also not a set time they start every week. It varies from 8-9am to 3:15pm. That is going to become a problem when I am no longer home, after knee surgery. I have a special electronic key lock door, and I can not send out a special code and delete it each week, nor will I be able to explain it to someone different every week. Hopefully, it will all work out. It has been very easy to talk to The Maids, and they have honored my every request when it comes to cleaning my home. I have a big home, and it can be a bit daunting to clean. They provide a decent service at a fair price. i will use them again and recommend them to our friends read more

Overpriced and underwhelmed. They estimated (over the phone) the time it would take and then the people tried to find things that would fill that time. Areas were unaddressed and even though promised that they would return to fix them, no one ever did. So their "satisfaction guarantee" is bogus...in my opinion. This place is a total scam. They came out to clean my home and left parts of the floor dirty, did not empty the trash, did not clean the granite countertops, or placemats. Today I ask one of the maids if they made sure the floor was really clean. Her response was I don't know but I did vacuum. I call to try to contact the supervisor and leave numerous voicemails without any kind of response. I finally submitted a letter to the corporate office and I am curious to see if they respond to my letter. You would think with 4 to 5 maids coming into a 1650 sq ft home it would be spotless right? Keep in mind that this isn't a one time problem. They have continuously not cleaned the home thoroughly since we have hired them. They have brought out supervisors serval times in the past to reclean the home. read more

When I returned the call the morning of the cleaning they told me they were understaffed and unable to clean my apartment that I had to move out of that day. I have used The Maids off and on for the last 14 years. I always come back because they really do a better job than the different companies I tried. They are so professional and polite. If there is a problem with something not being cleaned just perfectly, the office is responsive and sends the team back out. They are fast, but not careless or sloppy. I have only had one thing damaged by The Maids over the years and Jona and Bob took care of it with no drama. The only thing they could do better would be to make the team assigned to clean more consistent. All the teams do a good job, but there are teams I prefer. read more

UPDATE: I originally posted the review below and got a message right away from the owner which was great! I did not expect that. Joana offered her apologies and said they would be happy to come reclean for free. The same crew came back out and this time they took their time and were very thorough. The crew explained the previous time they were training a new duster and that makes sense now why there were this issues. Now based on a second opportunity I will use them again! Thank you @ The Maids! I hired The Maids to come to my 1800sq ft, 3 story townhome to get it looking spotless for an open house. The person on the phone, Angela, sold me this great package saying it would take 3-4hrs and they would have my house looking like it was brand new with no dirt or dust anywhere. 4 Maids arrived on time. They were done in 1.5hrs. Two went out to wait in the car and two stayed behind to ask if there was anything else they needed done because they finished early and did not want management to think they did a bad job. I quickly found they had not cleaned the basebords, cabinets or doors as advertised so I had them do this but I could tell they were in a rush to leave. At the end they asked me to call in and give a good review because they would get a bonus. Now I am all for helping people earn a living but they did not deep clean. After they left it was obvious they did not do a "deep clean" as I had paid for, $313 for 2hrs to be exact!! Dust was left in many places, windows not cleaned, spots still on parts of baseboards & doors, Window seals not wiped, the floor had not been cleaned on hands and knees as advertised because grime was in the nooks & crannies. The maids did a basic job which I already pay someone $80 a week for however I didnt need basic I needed the works but the job fell very short! They may be good for cheaper basic work but for deep cleaning I could have done better myself. read more

My elderly mother somehow found this organization in the phone book and called to have a deep cleaning. They charged her $400 for two hours of cleaning, which is outrageous for a 2400 square ft house. Four maids showed up, but after about 30 minutes some maids were missing. One maid was in two bedrooms (that were already tidy and beds made) for 45 minutes and when I went back and checked, the floor was not vacuumed. The tables, chests, pictures, and objects were not dusted. After 1 hour and 30 minutes, the head maid came and said that they would not be finished and did I want to pay for additional hours- which I assume would be at least another two hours, which may have totaled- $800 plus tax. At that point, not one bathroom was finished, not one floor vacuumed, and the kitchen wasn't finished. We continued to argue and they refused to change their rate. They finally agreed to try and finish some of the vacuuming (I had already done family room during this time). When I went to check on the four maids, this is what I saw: one maid was missing, one maid was vacuuming, another maid was holding the cord, and the last maid was watching the other two. I have varying crews which I wish would not be the case. I want a group who KNOWS what I want and how I like things done. I'm not always available to go over with the crews each time. I like my bed made a certain way, my refrigerator and washer dryer storage drawers cleaned each time, if my oven is dirty - it should be cleaned, my baseboards cleaned well. Also, we have small dogs. The maids often close the shower door where the dogs are trained to go potty on their artificial grass mat when we are away. The maids close the glass door even though I have asked each crew to leave it open. I like the maids to use my cleaning products. I've gone over numerous times that my breakfast table (which is zinc topped), is to be cleaned with Pledge furniture polish, but unless I am here I have to tell them over and over. Additionally, they never wipe the cabinet where the trash is stored. It has spills sometimes, but always has dust or dirt. It has NEVER been cleaned. I do a lot of work before they arrive, and then I have to do work after they depart. I've requested they arrive between 1-1:30 pm, but often they do not arrive until 2:30 or 3. I plan my appts around the time the maids are to be here, even the grooming appts for my dogs so I need them to be closer to the time requested. For the price I pay for each two weeks, and the length of time I've used them - there should be NO questions on how things are to be done. They began doing a fantastic job, but as time passes the quality of work is falling off. My floors are not cleaned well at all. I find dirt on my wood floors all the time, and sometimes on the kitchen floor or hallway/stairwell. Just not a great value at this time. I'm becoming disillusioned with the service. Angela is great, and the girls who clean are very nice, but the cleaning itself is not up to what I request or pay for each visit. read more

I've been using The Maids for several years now. We have a large dog and they're good about getting up all the dog hair, including in the couch cushions! And the house always smells great when they're done. I love it that they bring all the cleaning supplies with them and I don't have to provide anything! In years past, there were a few times they showed up past the end of the time window. But after I said something, they remedied that and are always on time now. Once, when the team was running behind at the house before mine, 2 of the managers showed up to clean my house so it would be done on time. I was impressed by that. The teams do change from week to week but each team has always done a great job. The Maids are also very accommodating if I need to change my cleaning date or request a certain time of day. I've recommended them to friends who have also been very happy with their services. We recently added an outdoor living area to our home and The Maids clean that for us as well. It looks fantastic when they're done and ready for guests! The Copper Team is our regular team now and we are very happy with them. read more
