My family was ordering in tonight and my mom said that she loved the lobster casserole so we had to order from here. I ordered the 8 oz piece of chicken with vegetables and the peel shrimp appetizer. My whole family seemed to love their meals so I'm not entirely sure why my experience was different. The first mistake was that our orders were placed in the wrong to go bags and our meals were mixed up even though we said that it was important. The second mistake was that I ordered the vegetables with my chicken but they gave me the potato instead. It was the saddest and smallest piece of chicken next to a potato in foil. I seriously doubt it was 8 oz. I also didn't think it was possible for chicken to be damp unseasoned, and overcooked at the same time. It was so disappointing that I couldn't finish my food which was so unlike me. Moral of the story if you're too afraid to cook chicken, you should never cook chicken. Also a little bit of flavor never killed anyone. I am beyond happy that my shrimp was really good. It wasn't overcooked or undercooked. They also gave me a lot. I would say that next time I should just order more shrimp but we all know there isn't going to be a next time. I had to add some of my own vegetables.

Food was good and hot. I had the manicotti it tasted like comfort food to me. My husband had the Hot lobster roll, he enjoyed it, the breading was good and the French fries too. We shared the warmed apple crumble with vanilla ice cream, it was delicious. The service was fast, staff friendly the ambience felt like you entered to a family house, the staff works very well together and they are always happy and laughing. The decor, seating, can be upgraded, is dark and the booth seat lack cushions.

The location is on the main strip in Provincetown. It's been serving seafood in PTown for a century. There was a 30 minute wait to be seated. Unfortunately, they did not offer a waiting area for patrons. There is a small bar that holds maybe 2 people. So we waited outside to be called. No texting or paging system to notify waiting patrons. Some tech upgrades would be nice. Once seated our waiter was very helpful with the menu. He got our water and beverages promptly. We ordered a lobster roll and pork chops. I really wanted to love this place but it missed the mark with the food. The lobster was over cooked and portion very small for the price. The twin pork chops were decent portion but over cooked as well. Probably will not return.

Stopped in here for a quick bite while exploring Ptown! Our hotel recommended it to us for dinner. Service was excellent, Domanique was so nice. The food was ok but the restaurant itself seemed old. Try the clam chowder and the lobster tacos. Not important, but the bathrooms are tiny. I'm 5'6" and my knees were touching the wall.

This was a wonderful place to eat for lunch. The menu has a large variety of options. I had the clam strips. They were breaded and fried perfectly. The batter was light and crunchy. The other 3 table mates got a different option on the menu. Looks like none of the options are bad options. Service was a little slow. Took a bit for the waitress to get the drink orders. And we waited a really long time (35 mins) to get the check and pay for our meals. When she took the last plate, we said we were ready to cash out. Waited... waited... waited.. it got to the point we were awkwardly sitting at the table with empty drinks and a group waiting for a table. Overall a great place to eat

Classic Cape Cod comfort food. Where the local eat. Comfy diner atmospher and friendly service. Menu a New England mix of American and local comfort food, Portuguese and local seafood with some Italian thrown in. The quality was better than the casual surrounding suggest. Salad green very fresh, ice tea house brewed and my Mozomambqiue chicken deliciously home style.

Ate here twice while visiting Provincetown. The service is excellent. We had seafood for dinner: fried shrimp, fried scallops and chowder. Yum! Went back today for lunch, again had excellent service, enjoyed chicken Parmesan and Eggplant Parmesan with Apple Crisp for desert. Delicious!

Salisbury steak with mashed potatoes instead of fries

My family and I have come here for our annual trips for the last five years. Every time we are able to get seated pretty much right away. This year it was especially empty which was slightly sad to see. For our entrées we ordered a lasagna, chicken fingers and french fries, seafood casserole, eggplant Parmesan, kale soup, and Salisbury steak. As always the food comes out hot and fresh. Everyone loved their dishes. This was the first time I had a fresh as opposed to frozen Salisbury steak dinner, and let me say I will never be able to look at those the same anymore. The steak was cooked medium and was served with a thick flavorful gravy. I was happy I opted for the velvety mashed potatoes as opposed to French fries as the gravy elevated the dish. The chicken tenders were crispy and moist with the tasty French fries. Pickle was crisp and fresh. My mom loved her seafood casserole as well and my friends and their dishes. Staff is as friendly as ever. We loved our waiter Steve as he was hilarious and personable. Given the quality of food and the price we will always come back again.

NOTE: our waiter was inexplicably and somewhat aggressively handsy with me. A special thank you to Elia, who helped us with our reservation, accommodated a change, and even helped with a gift card. That kind of attention and care set the tone before we even arrived. It made a real difference. The hostess at the front desk was also incredibly kind and helpful, and we appreciated that right away. We were seated upstairs in a beautiful room that felt intimate and special, perfect for celebrating the holiday. The food exceeded our expectations. We started with the crab cakes and watermelon salad, both excellent. I had the chicken, Scott had the lobster, and both were outstanding. What made the night memorable wasn't just the food, though -- it was the hospitality. You can tell when a restaurant has people who genuinely care about the guest experience, and Helltown delivered that in every way. We'll absolutely be back.

The ambience is lovely...it feels high-end without being pretentious. Food choices provide something for everyone, including those with any kind of gluten sensitivity and other dietary restrictions. Our server was excellent and all of the food was outstanding. Personally, I thought that my salmon was one of the best pieces of cooked salmon I've ever had. (I prefer my salmon raw and tend to shy away from cooked salmon because it's usually overcooked and dry.) Others at the table had the duck sliders, the special oxtail soup, the burger and a different fish dish. Rave reviews all around. Cocktails were also well done! Dessert was decadent and was plenty for sharing. I will definitely visit Joon again when I'm in town.

The green goddess dressing on the spring vegetable salad really stood out! It balanced out the sweetness of the fresh peas. I ordered the scallop and shrimp entree ($43) which came with coconut basmati rice, grilled asparagus, and a bright mango salad. I'm still thinking about the flavor on the seafood--I was practically licking the plate! My dining partner got the lamb skewer ($28) and particularly liked the side sauce it came with. We finished with the lemon tart ($13), which was like a deconstructed lemon bar. It came with a sugar cookie on the side and fresh mint. It was so good that we were scraping the bowl! The service was swift and professional. Overall, Joon's vibe is stylish, upscale, and perfect for a special night out!

The bang bang shrimp and lobster deviled eggs were both very good and set high expectations for what was to come. Unfortunately, all of our entrees fell flat. Nothing was bad, but nothing stood out either. The dishes just lacked flavor especially given the reputation. The biggest concern came when we overheard staff turning away guests with shellfish allergies because the kitchen has "shellfish all over the place." While I appreciate being transparent about allergy risks, hearing it described that way was alarming and raised questions about kitchen practices and cleanliness. For a restaurant of this caliber, that was disappointing to hear. Overall, a few strong appetizers couldn't make up for underwhelming entrees and a concerning impression of the kitchen.
