Our server Bella was incredible. Everyone in the entire restaurant was happy and she was the only server. It's very noticeable how great she is at her job. Knowing the menu and being really attentive and super nice to everyone! Props to the kitchen for getting the food out hot. It was all great! We got the flatbread, burger, kale salad, truffle fries, nachos, and Benedict. Restaurant was also very clean, smelled nice, and was warm on this super snowy day.

I was trying to get a late reservation into another restaurant nearby and they told me it was an hour wait. So I decided to see what was in the area. Around the corner was The Mayfly and it was relatively empty only with one party in there. My partner and I were seated immediately and was able to order as soon as we knew what we wanted. We tried their drinks as well as their food and it was very delicious. Although this wasn't our intended spot we were really able to enjoy our food and each other. Our waitress was attentive to us and very kind. I would definitely go back and would love to try their happy out and other dishes on the menu.

This review is solely for their Happy Hour. Finding a good happy hour deal in the city doesn't seem like a daunting task but sometimes it can be! Came here for an after work happy hour with some friends and their menu had me once I saw espresso martini. The inside is cozy and a little small and there are bar tables alll along the middle of the restaurant. Their drink specials included a few speciality cocktails for $10 and then well drinks and beers (the basics). Outside of that they also offered happy hour food specials that came with a HH cocktail for $16. (Such a steal bc it's not just the bar snacks, it's like a full meal). The food was nothing spectacular, in fact I wasn't a fan of the dry rubbed wings I got but because I was hungry I ate It anyway. We got wings, flatbread and tacos. Our waitress was super nice and attentive -- loved her! Overall, i'd def return and have already added this spot to my running list of HH spots to visit.

There are tons of great spots downtown, but I have never had such a fun brunch! The food is amazing, the drinks are crafty and delicious, and strong, I must go! I ordered the grilled cheese and the French toast, the grilled cheese was melted perfectly with bacon and tomato and a side of truffle fries, Yum! The French toast was seriously out of this world, light soft fluffy and delicious came with a side of preserves, whip cream and syrup so I tried all three! Then there was a drag bingo that was so much fun, I love the whole vibe.

The Mayfly is a great restaurant. The relaxed vibe of the restaurant is very comforting. The food is very good. I typically get the Kale salad, and it is incredible. Another great dish is the Cheese Fries. I ordered this as an appetizer, but it was so large it ended p being my meal! This is a great place. They even have trivia nights!

The food was great. I tried their kale Caesar salad and asked for chicken to be added. The bowl was small so I thought I'd be hungry but it was the perfect size for lunch. They have these amazing crouton pieces that is almost like a dust so every bite has this nice croutony texture and flavor. My wife got the grilled cheese. She saved half for later because it was a little too greasy to finish in one serving. Flavor was great though.

Brunch here was so much fun! I went with 3 other friends, and it was a great place for a group brunch. They have bottomless mimosas but we also tried out some of their cocktails, which were really well made! The spicy tequila drink was my favorite. The food was delicious as well- don't forget to get truffle fries for the table! I really enjoyed the French toast since it was perfectly crispy on the edges and soft in the middle. From the ambiance to the quality of food and drinks, the Mayfly is a great bar in the Lower East Side! I hosted my birthday party here and everyone at the event had a great time. They have one of the best deals in the city to make a party reservation. The owner and servers were kind and attentive. They played my music and took care of the cake for me, and even cut up the slices after singing happy birthday. The bartender even gave me a free shot when he realized I was the birthday girl! Overall, 10/10 experience! read more

Was trying to go to Subject next door and they even suggested we go here while waiting (we didn't end up going to Subject that night). Really friendly hostess; we got seated right away on a Saturday night. My boyfriend and I both got beers, and the service was quick and friendly. Nice spot - felt clean, spacious. I've been coming this establishment almost every Wednesday for happy hour and to listen to the dj play for at least a year now.Unfortunately, I won't be coming back due to I was accused of harassing the food server by the owner of the place. My best friends and I came for Sunday brunch yesterday around 1:30 pm. It's a really cozy and intimate spot that I can tell gets really busy when it's packed, but it was very chill and not crowded at all. CJ was our waiter, and he made sure to keep our glasses of mimosas and Bellinis coming to the table! He was super helpful in recommending us on what to eat, and he told not one lie about the food. I ordered the Mayfly burger, it was so good and cooked perfectly. My friends ordered the breakfast tacos and the eggs Benedict. Everything was absolutely delicious! Went to this place for brunch when a few other brunch spots had long waits and we saw this place was just opening up at 12 pm. The atmosphere was so cool! It was very well decorated and the bar was gorgeous. Our waitress was really sweet, it was a little slow but they were just opening when we got there so it was expected, and we didn't mind sitting and chatting. I deducted a star because the breakfast tacos I got were pretty meh, kinda plain and not much to them, but I'd be happy to try something new from there. The pickles we got as an appetizer were sooooo good tho, and my friends enjoyed their pancakes! They were small pancakes, but honestly the perfect portion size if you're not a heavy eater. They had $25 bottomless brunch, which we didn't try but would possibly come back for! Had an overall good experience. read more

Came here for a friends birthday past weekend. Some of the drinks tasted watery or no alcohol. Flavor is good but didn't taste any alcohol. We had a large party and they overbooked their reservation. We got there at 8:30pm. They told us we will have to leave at 10:30pm. It was not busy the music got better when the dj came. If we did leave at 10:30pm like they said. That was 1/3 of their business that might. But we left at 11:30pm. Not surprised that we weren't asked to leave after our reservation. Their drinks taste like juice. Some people may like. But if no alcohol taste why am I at a bar. Good place to try. Space is not that big. read more

I came here one Saturday night with a friend of mine and had a good experience. I had the transatlantic to drink, and my friend had the smooth landing, and both were great. Both of us ordered the fried chicken sandwich to eat, which was great (and so were the fries). Overall, I like the ambiance and the food / drinks, so I'd be happy to come again. read more

Last night I went to a comedy show at Caveat only to find it was cancelled due to Covid. While aimlessly wandering around the LES looking for some dinner I came upon MAYFLY and Yelped it. The menu looked nice and the place was about half full so I decided to give it a try. I was very nicely greeted by a hostess who courteously asked for my proof of vaccination. If she hadn't checked my vax status I would have walked out. I was alone and she said I could have any two-top that I wanted. Test one - passed. Once I was seated, a very nice waitperson came immediately and took my drink and food order. I'm super-fussy about how my favorite cocktail is made. I told the waitperson how I wanted it and when it came it was perfect. Test 2 - passed. I started with a kale salad that was terrific. I then had the Mayfly burger and it was also wonderful, cooked to perfection with a lot of really tasty garnishes. Test 3 - passed. I didn't ask about dessert because I wasn't all that hungry. (The kale salad was huge.) I'll be testing the desserts the next time...and there will be a next time if not many. read more

Went to the Mayfly for brunch and it was delicious. We did the bottomless brunch for 90 minutes for 25$ and the drinks were really good. Watching them make the drinks they were not shy with their pour and they did not disappoint. I got the eggs Benedict and it was so good as well even though The portions were on then small side. I suggest getting something to share for the table. Overall this place is a hidden gem and I would go back. read more

Hosted the most incredible 26th birthday party by renting out the Mayfly this weekend for about 40ish people. The staff was incredible, music was bumping, and vibes were perfect. You cannot beat a FREE bar rental with a disco ball, great drinks, and ample space for a large group. I will be recommending the Mayfly to all of my friends looking to host a party!!! read more

A new LES staple. The service is AMAZING!! The staff makes you feel like you're a part of the Mayfly family and, not to mention, the cocktails are to die for! I got the Lillian's island and a chicken sandwich and was absolutely blown away. The atmosphere is mellow for a weeknight, and pretty lively on the weekends. Definitely a fit for everyone!! I've been here a few times now, such a great addition to the neighborhood! The staff is fantastic.. everyone is so friendly! Megan behind the bar is just the sweetest and she makes the meanest espresso martini in NYC! If you like spicy drinks, I also recommend the hidden sun cocktail. great food, affordable drinks, and lovely staff!! the mayfly is a wonderful addition to the area. i had a party here this past saturday, nov 20. it was super last minute on my part but rory couldn't have been more accommodating and i am SO grateful! highly recommend having your party here if you don't have all the money in the world to throw around. there's no minimum or fee of any kind and everything on the menu is very well-priced. our server was great as well -- i can't recall her name but she was very attentive and patient with our large group. food was yummy and the specialty cocktails were amazing. i love this place and will be back :) big big thanks to the staff here y'all rock! read more

The food here is incredible! We came for a last minute brunch, and every item we got was delicious. Between 2 of us, we got the French toast, BLT with egg, and sour cream & onion dip. Friendly staff, although a little slow. The restaurant wasn't too busy when we were there, and it took ~10 min for us to get an extra fork. This wasn't a huge deal, and we're excited to go back to try more of the menu! read more

The bar tenders and servers are all great. They consistently check on your table and make sure everything is going smoothly. When you order shots they bring you bring you a back no problem. My girl always needs a cranberry Bach. Isaac holds it down and Connor makes some tasty drinks. read more

Host was nice and made an effort to keep the doorway clear and closed (very cold outside). Waitress was not very attentive and kept rushing tables out the door to accommodate other reservations. Maybe if she didn't take 25 minutes to take orders people wouldn't need more than 1.5 hours for their meals. Waitress didn't check on our table once and the host had to take our order. The burger is actually a slider but the tiny plate and even tinier table make it look bigger. Quality of food was decent, except I asked for the burger medium rare and it came well done. read more

My friends and I LOVE the mayfly! We've been for brunch and dinner and each time it gets better and better. We love everyone who works here, especially their chef Elliot. He does such an incredible job elevating the food and always makes sure we order his favorites (which we're grateful for because they quickly become our favorites too). Their espresso martinis and other cocktails are next level. Can't wait to be back soon! read more

Best place in LES! If you want the best espresso martini in town come here! Seriously super perfect. I also hosted a brunch after the American Cancer society walk with 12 people and the staff couldn't be better. All in all I'll be back a bunch! read more

Food is great, drinks at great, music is great, people are great! :) Sunday Brunch are my fav time here - esp. during football season. I was pleasantly surprised by the eggs benedict. I'm not a bacon person at all and was wondering how the bacon jam would be and it was really good! I recommend substituting with the truffle fries. My friends and I shared the sour cream and onion dip, which was the perfect way to start bottomless brunch. And the cinnamon bun is delicious too! For dinner - I LOVE the chicken sandwich and the wings. read more

The ambiance feels straight of the golden age, which is an aesthetic I'm certainly a sucker for. Even their robust cocktail menu fits the bill and is one of the prettiest menus I've ever had the joy of perusing. Staff was able to sit us a little bit ahead of our reservation which was also much appreciated. Wait staff was also very helpful and attentive, I don't think I've ever had my water glass so topped off! Starting off with cocktails, this place is a gin bar through and through and you'd be making a mistake if you didn't try one of their many options. I went with the 10,000 words, which you simply just give a spirit of your choice (I picked gin of course) and whether you antes) wanted your drink shaken or stirred and the bartender does the rest, so a bit of a surprise! I wound up with their version of The Last Word which was delightfully citrusy but I was hoping I'd wind up with something a little more adventurous app things considered. My girlfriend got the blackberry G&T, which was not only very pleasing to look at but delicious to boot. For food, we started with splitting some zucchini blossoms and beef cheek bao buns (both come in portions of 3). Both were tasty, but I love a good bao bun and these were so light and pillowy, I could have just went for an order of those for my main course. For the entree I went for the roasted half chicken, perhaps the most unassuming choice on the menu but this was maybe the best roast chicken I've ever had. Prepared perfectly, cooked to perfection, excellent portion size, and the kicker of it all was the stunning gravy that I was tempted to lick my plate for. Chicken is very easy to screw up, and they nailed it on all fronts here. My girlfriend went for the Valerie Signature burger with white cheddar and this thing did not mess around! A very rich patty, cooked to her temperature of choice served alongside some garlic truffle fries that made an American classic feel just a little more elevated. Our experience was delightful and I'd love to comeback here again, especially to check out more of the cocktail menu and soak in more of that golden age aura the place gives.
