The new improved Fried Chicken, one less piece of cluck but now fresh, perfectly prepared with seasoned asparagus & creamy mashed potatoes.

We used to be regulars at the previous Paradise Grill, because of the exceptional staff, the lovely feeling of being out in the country (in spite of a 4 minute drive from our suburban house), and the better than average food. But. (There's always a but.) The previous upper management apparently lost interest, we no longer recognized the staff, and the food suffered. And the drinks went WAY up in price. So we quit going. Another but. (A good one!) Julie and Trevor are back, the food is better than ever with a new chef turning out fresher and delicious cuisine, and it's still got that away from the world feeling. Like rediscovering an old friend who has actually improved with age, The Meadows is back. I hope they can keep this level of quality going, because if so, their previous patronage will return. After us, of course. October 3rd, 2015 So, we've become regulars again. Even though The Meadow is still open only for dinner on Friday and Saturday evenings (hope this changes, would be faboo venue for weekend brunches), we've tried to sample most everything on the menu and the specials as well. So far, so good. All the meals have been well above average restaurant fair, and given the quality and preparation, quite reasonable. Cocktails are tasty and well poured, the wine list isn't extensive but the selections are good. If you want to bring a bottle from home, corkage is $10. Perhaps the most obvious change is the attitude of the staff, they're really working hard to earn back the business. If you haven't been in awhile, check it out.

Great food!!! My husband and I were here on Valentine's Day. Everyone there was so friendly and the food was delicious!! We had the kobe burger with avacado and bacon, the filet minionettes, and the very tasty Moroccan Cake- curry and chicken! Julie was our waitress and she was so friendly. It was a gorgeous scenery at the Meadows. We will definitely be back and bring our daughter. We also want to check out the Bar and Grill next time for lunch.

Basa Seafood Express is a no frills spot that took over Dell's Cafe on Castro Valley Blvd. Offering poke, sashimi, rolls, some fried items and clam chowder. Order at the counter and a buzzer given to alert you when ready. I happened to order online and the estimate was about 30 mins but got there in 15 mins and waited. Be sure check in at the counter as your order may be ready sooner than estimated. :: SOFT-SHELLED CRAB BURGER - coated in panko and fried. Light (not greasy) crunchy crab with simple mayo, slices of red onion, tomato and spring mix on a sesame bun! 4/5 stars - I made a garlic/lemon aioli to add to my sandwich and yum! :: CLAM CHOWDER - thicker than ones I've had, tad sweet and can taste the cream. Clams present with chunks of potatoes. This was decent 3.25/5 Service pleasant and no nonsense. I'd return for the soft-shelled crab burger and clam chowder and make small mods at home. 4 tables for dine-in but most orders were for take out. Private lot parking.

I've had several complaints about things being in my bowl and dishes that were not ordered (and some I had no idea what it was) and every time I speak to a manager/employee about it it's just a roundabout "there's no way we do that so I don't know how it happened." The employees are obviously not held to a standard at all if that's how the manager approaches complaints. The employees are in the back 99.9% of the time which means they're more than likely back there living it up. Which wouldn't be an issue if there obviously wasn't signs of distraction, lack of simple detail, and a lack of caring, not just according to me, but according to a lot of people. And there's no view of people preparing your food as well which for some can be worrisome. Anytime quality of service and food is up and down as such, it's a sign of bad training and accountability. I've worked in food for 13 years so I'm just speaking from a standard I know what it should be, especially when people are spending their money to trust you with their food, health and nutrition. I've given this places several chances cause when it's done right, it is amazing. This place has a lot of great potential but needs new form of management whether that be a change of attitude or new management in general, quick. Because as a soon as a new spot opens around with better and more consistent service, it'll be playing keep up.

We visited the Hayward location. The vibe is very modern with some classic details.Along the walls are displays of Korean ceramics and fine arts. On every table there is a laminated pamphlet informing patrons about Tang Jip's philosopy and use of high quality ingredients. This set up a high expectations for the food, and fortunately, our expectations were met. The banchans (side dishes) foretold a promising meal. The taste of each dish was incredible. The kimchees were fresh and crisp. Chapchae was not soggy. Tofu skins were delicate and mild. For our entrees were had the rose tteokbokki, spicy pork + Naengmyeon combo, pork belly bossam, beef bulgogi and Soon Tofu soup combination, and dumpling soup with rice cakes. The rose tteokbokki in creamy rose spicy sauce was really tasty. The pork belly was great with the different dipping sauces and included kimchee. The tofu soup and dumpling soups were satisfying. They even included a raw egg for you to add to the tofu soup. The cold noodle was refreshing and not too spicy. The BBQ meats had great flavor, but the portions could be more especially since there were quite a bit of sautéed onions underneath. This is our only complaint. Otherwise, the restaurant delivered on its promise of top notch quality ingredients.

We got the steak sliders which came with fries on the side, and beef and mushroom empanadas listed on the specials menu on the wall. The sliders were quite delicious, and the fries were even better (thin and lightly salted), especially with the strong drinks served from the dirty bird bar. The empanadas were okay. I liked the mushroom version better, which came with a mix of onions and bell pepper. The beef empanadas came with no other ingredients except ground beef, even though the staff told us that all of the empanadas come with onions and bell pepper. And the ground beef was a bit lacking in flavor, so luckily it came with an oil-based sauce on the side which had good flavor and chunks of veggies/herbs.
