let me tell you how it works Jerrod..... If you have in fact been visiting Cabot for the past several years... You should know the days and hours of operation at The Mean Pig.... Its on the gates, door and the message. The hours are odd for a eatery, however, since the Mean Pig started its operation these have been the hours, It is a entirely family owned and operated business, the crew that arrives to get the day in order at 5:00 am is the closing crew at 6:30 pm. If they are going to be closed out of their "Normal Hours". it's posted on the reader board,the door and the meassage. As stated before, it's all family, who has family and young children who they should spend time with. after all you come from AZ to AR to spend time with yours...... The Staff, does have a GREAT Customer Service attitude about them, however at times, like all people in retail, there is always that one guy, who manages to get under their skin. at 1:00 IN THE AFTERNOON, when you got there, they were already served about 6 cases of ribs to those people who came in and took them home for their visiting family. and the beef went home the same way, large orders for family and friends visiting. WOW, that tells me it must be pretty darn good. The place was'nt full but that doesnt mean they had not served more people than you can imagine.your opioion although appreicated is very obscured, because you were already angry they were out of ribs. As far as the consistity of the texture of the Chopped pork, for some it's to course, for others like yourself, its to fine. The cooking time is a full 24 hours.... The Staff and management gave up part of there Christmas holiday to scavange cuts of meat to cook for their loyal and much appreicated customers, as it was not until the morning of the 26th did it come to attention of Management that the regular delivery truck was not going to make its usual stop. All the grocery stores in the area were bought out of the cuts of meat, that were deemed worthy enough to be cooked and served . Beans, take em or leave em... some love em some don't.... but there is a US Patent hanging on the wall in the store to show all that we take pride in our beans... Sauce is a condiment like Ketchup, Mustard, and Mayo. Some like Helimans, some like Kraft.. the sauce used at the Mean Pig is made in NW Arkansas for the Mean Pig... So with all this said, How do I know all this to be true ? because, I am the Owner/Operator. I hate you had a bad experience. This is a great place to work with, the people and the food are great! I hosted an event on April 1 and learned that morning that his father had passed the night before. True to his word, my order was delivered on time even while he was hosting his own event at the restaurant. The man is true to his word. I ordered pork, beef and chicken that day along with the sides and it was all delicious. I would not hesitate to order from him again. And as a side note, there's not a chicken patty sandwich on the menu, never has been and I'm sure never will be. I cannot imagine where Rick J. ate at on 6/16/17 but it wasn't The Mean Pig. The Mean Pig has been in business for 20 years and I really think after that long, they know what they're doing especially since they were highlighted on the Travel Channel. read more

I've been to the Mean Pig maybe 6 times , and I have to hand it to them , Its the best BBQ North of I-10 for me. Here on the gulf coast we have BBQ chains and its definitely not cooked onsite like the Pig. 1st time I ever tried them was in Cabot and they didn't even have a restaurant , they were in a trailer on the side of the road , It was great then and I bet next time I go it will be as good as ever. No! No! No! Never again. The BBQ sandwich it's self was OK, and I mean just OK, I have had worst but I have had much much better from a convenience store. So that isn't say it much for the Mean Pig. BBQ beans was nothing but warm pork in beans and nothing else. No fries.. Ha Ha no fries at a BBQ place?? No one in our family was very impressed. Everything I have tried on the menu has been amazing...from the regular menu items to a daily special. You are always greeted with a pleasant, smiling face, who is truly glad you are there. Delicious.....I kept it simple with the jumbo pork sandwich....bean....and a drink. Super clean restaurant, super friendly and attentive staff, very quick lunch time service....and most important AWESOME BBQ! I brought home the family meal pack for the family. Very delicious and fed the entire family at a very reasonable price. Came with all the sides, buns, sauces, everything you'll need. Hands down the best BBQ ever! Fast, friendly service and have never been disappointed! Baked Beans are to die for and I am hooked on the Hot BBQ sauce. Have to buy the big bottle to take home! The whole "restaurant" has a sewage smell to it..... Pulled pork sandwich was watery like it been left overs from a previous day. And you can just guess how unpleasant the employees were from having to work around a place that has watery food and a toilet smell to it. avoid! read more

Only thing wrong with The Mean Pig is they don't have a location where I am in the Middle East......I'm a Cabot resident who loves The Mean Pig. Five stars all day long. You can bet it will be the first place I stop when I get back!! read more
