I'm a bit confused and don't know what to rate this place with. I want to give it five stars badly....but I can't. Maybe if I visit again and I'm more pleased, I'll bump it up to four? I'm feeling more like 2.5-3 stars with this one. My hubby got a plane grilled cheese, he wasn't thrilled. We've had plane grilled cheese elsewhere and were amazed. I ordered the mushroom with grilled cheese. Although I should've been very satisfied with this sandwich, for me...it lacked seasoning. By seasoning, I mean salt. My sandwich was very bland. Customer service was nice, but needed some work. A young staff member came by to refill my water, but grabbed the cup from the lip of the cup. Yuck. Let's just say, I didn't drink my water after that. I think I would still return. I would probably try another sandwich and order the tomato soup to go a long with it. read more

The melt is a delicious spot here in Irvine at the spectrum outdoor mall. The food was delicious and the service was great. Big 5 took care of me and his customer service was phenomenal ! Definitely recommend this spot, ask for big 5 he's the guy who runs the show at the melt ! read more

Not sure why the reviews are sub-par. I thought it was solid. Tried the meltburger. Angus/Wagyu beef 1/3 pound patty, was good but didn't seem extra special considering it is "wagyu." It's ok because the price is not bad. The naked fries were also good. Not spectacular but good. The kids mac n cheese was super cheesy. I liked it. The place is definitely all about the cheese. The Melt...it's kind of how my wallet felt after I left here! The melt is pretty simple. There really isn't much that needs to be explained. It's grilled cheese, chicken, burgers, and Mac and cheese. After browsing the menu, I started to order. For most of us, I got the combo. Most of the sandwiches were $5.99 - $7.99. There was a sign that said if you got a combo, you would save! I was in since you get to pick your sides! I ordered the grilled cheese for my daughter that was on their menu without realizing there was a small kids menu by the register. I quickly changed my order for her to the kids grilled cheese. It comes with apples or you can pay $1 extra for fries. I ordered the spicy mission chicken and made it a combo. For the side I got the bacon Florentine Mac and cheese and a soda. The chicken was very thin and there was basically nothing spicy about the sandwich. The "fresh spinach" was barely there and I couldn't taste it. The crispy onions were also almost flavorless. Finally, I know this sounds strange, but there was WAY too much cheese! If you don't eat it right away, it becomes a thick gooey mess! My wife got the egg-in-a-hole. I made hers a combo also and got her the bacon and cheese fries and a soda. The fries were good. They were exactly what you would expect. Nothing more, nothing less. The sandwich only had egg in half of it. I don't even know how this happened. My son (who is 7) had the steak and cheese and I made his a combo also. He had the bacon and cheese fries and a milk shake. All of his food looked fine and he enjoyed it. After ordering, the bill was $52! For a walk up place, I was shocked! I paid it, and the lady handed us two cups. I asked where the cup for the kids meal was, and she informed me that it doesn't come with a drink. Say what?!?! I've never been to a place like this where the kids meal doesn't come with anything! It would be nice to be told beforehand since that's the norm. I ended up giving her my drink and had water. Then, we sat down and I looked at the bill. Turns out the "savings" for a combo is $0.35. Yay! Overall, I felt like their pricing is deceptive. Not telling you the kids meal doesn't come with a drink and getting a combo for "savings" really isn't a value. The food was fine, but I won't go back. That's too much considering the quality. There are so many good places nearby that are less expensive and so much better! read more

Yesterday Sunday Oct 22 2023. Approximately about 10:15pm. My boyfriend and I decided to try out the Melt after work. He order the original grilled chicken burger and myself a Swiss chicken burger. I was very hungry I grab the food and I took a bite. Something was off and I didn't process until my boyfriend opened his burger. And I was in disbelief Both of our chicken were still RAW. We ate RAW chicken. I told my boyfriend to give it to me. I walked out to the restaurant, I kindly said "Hi so the chicken isn't cooked, it's raw". The girl was also in disbelief and apologized. She said she can remake and I can get something else. At the end she told me thank you for being lenient even though we don't deserve it. In my opinion I feel like yelling doesn't really solve anything. My boyfriend was still hungry but didn't want to eat because we lost our appetite. The chicken was still not cook to the point where it should be. So today Monday Oct 23 2023. I walked in to talk to the manager and to get a refund. I told him I was here yesterday and the chicken RAW . I would just like a refund. He didn't look surprised or apologize. Instead he said May I see the receipt so I can see if I can transfer it to the card. I showed him the receipt. Then he asked who I was talking to I said a girl who was very cooperative and apologetic. However, the food was just not appetizing after we received the raw chicken. No comment. He said I might need to give you cash. He gave me a refund. However there was no apology or saying if we are both ok. Normally I have nothing to complain however when it comes to raw food. My boyfriend and I could highly get food poisoning from it. We both weren't feeling good that night. On top of that 2 Days before I was kinda sick and got better but then I ate the chicken. Now I'm back and forth to get sick. I wanted to human decency to say "I'm so sorry for that are both of you ok? You guys haven't got food poisoning. If anything please contact us". The customer service experience at this establishment was beyond disappointing. It seemed that there might have been some oversight in the management of the operation, especially with younger staff members on duty. There was a noticeable delay in receiving my order even though I had followed the process of keying in the transponder at the kiosk. During my visit, I observed an employee spending time chatting with a co-worker instead of attending to customers promptly. It took a while for him to acknowledge my presence at the counter, and I had to get his attention by asking about my order. It turned out that my order had been ready and waiting on the counter, but I hadn't been informed via the transponder. The situation made me feel frustrated, as I had been waiting for more than 45 minutes without any indication that my order was ready. The interaction left me feeling annoyed, angry as though the employee was not taking the situation seriously and tried to shift the blame onto me when it was brought to his attention. The way he handled the situation was very immature, and I left the establishment without a positive impression. I have vowed to never return in the future, as this experience was not in line with what customer expectation for service should be. read more

First of all I must state, I would never go here to get food for myself since I'm not a huge fan of cheesy melt foods. I go here since my son loves Mac n Cheese just like most kids his age. I've been here once before, and wasn't impressed about their service, but hey our little guy seems to enjoy it, so why not give it a 2nd shot..right??? Sure enough the same sub par service, no smile, seems like this particular employee hated her life. As I'm asking her questions on what drinks they have, she's acting like she's doing me a favor?!?! Really?? Then I watch her prepare the food...swiping the excess food ingredients on the preparation table to the ground on someone else's order...it was apparent that she didn't really care about her job and the Melt brand. Guess I'm going have to convert our son into a TLT taco eating machine or a pho slurping...cafe su da drinking 6 year old (Saigon Pearl) or possibly a vegan (Lyfe) ?!?!?!?! The food was fresh, hot, and exactly what you want when you're craving something quick and satisfying--but what really stood out was the staff. Everyone was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and genuinely seemed happy to be there. They were patient, efficient, and went out of their way to make sure my order was right. I've been here before and enjoy the food, but unfortunately tonight I came in and was very disappointed. I got the Mac Daddy pretty much minus the mac and cheese (I included a photo so you can clearly see). I actually opened one half of the sandwich and counted 3 spirals of macaroni on that side. Fried are good, fountain drinks are good and the milkshakes are great! I just can't see paying what I did for something that wasn't what it represents. I will go back and try it again sometime (not soon though) and give it another chance. Hopefully by then someone will pay more attention to detail and put more than 3 macaroni noodles in a sandwich that is known for it's macaroni and cheese. read more

Being one of the only burger places at spectrum this place definitely hits the spot. The emphasis on the cheese is one of my favorite parts in a burger, and I'm glad to see that this place feels the same way. I even got complimentary apples with my meal, a refreshing surprise. Whenever we're hanging out at the Spectrum the Melt is our go to place. It's got something for everyone and we've been going there for years. Service is fast, but the quality never misses. The Melt makes the patties juicy and full of flavor, but its not expensive, which is what makes it such a good choice at the Spectrum. Loved it! The mcdaddy and cheese bacon fries were bomb.com . My friend got the spicy mission chicken with sweet potatoes and a shake although the prices are high ( almost 20 per meal, ouch!) It says to make it a "combo" but it's not a set price. We went today around 3 and it wasn't busy so we got our food pretty quickly. The service was great. Will def. Come back! read more

Great place to stop while shopping with the kids! Got grilled cheese, a cheeseburger, and a patty melt. All was fresh and delicious. We were able to safely order and eat outside. Felt very safe.
