Happy we finally got to try The melt. Pretty easy experience here. Smooth process. Straight forward menu. All the foods were good! We got the Swiss Melt-burger, Three Cheese classic, Garlic Parmesan hot fries, Chicken Bacon mac n cheese and a Cherry Craft soda. Will be back to try the other sandwiches. I've walked by this restaurant a few times while visiting Downtown Sunnyvale, so finally decided to give it a try! This place serves all kinds of melt sandwiches, the steak and cheese melt was calling to me so decided to get that. Food came out quickly and was piping hot! Was definitely cheesy and a satisfying sandwich! Server was friendly, though you order from the kiosk and pick up when your buzzer buzzes, and also bus your tray once done eating, so it required minimal service. Allow me to double down on my previous appreciation of this chain with some dessert deets. Wound up getting all three options - rice Krispy thing, brownie thing, chocolate chunk cookie. the cookie was the winner by far. Finally a cookie with enough chocolate! Also. They have soft serve ice cream in vanilla flavor BUT only if you order from a human at the counter. It's unavailable from the tablet ordering stations just inside the door. I came here for a yelp elite event which I won't review but my husband and kids also came with me so I'll review on behalf of them. The restaurant is so neat and clean. It's modernly decorated and looks like a fun, enticing spot to eat. It is unfortunately hard to maneuver around the tables- they're sort of packed in one small section inside so good luck if you're in a wheelchair or have a stroller or need a high chair. We had a stroller but parked it off to the side and needed a high chair that we maneuvered in alright. Another woman came in a wheelchair and we helped get her situated by moving chairs out of the way but it's a tight squeeze! Now on to the food. My husband would not stop raving about his burger. He said it was the best burger he's ever had. He said it could've been hotter temperature wise but that the flavors were incredible. He's eaten quite a few burgers in his day and was raving about it all the way home and later that weekend to friends. The garlic Parmesan fries were epic as well. They were like ballpark fries but better. Lots of garlic and Parmesan and crispy- no limp/soggy fries. There was a little kick beyond the garlic- chili flakes- so the kids thought they were too spicy and we had to get another side of plain fries for them. The kids both ate up the entire half of their burger- a rare thing. They loved it. Would've loved a better apple selection or a full apple for the side instead of just a half an apple but oh well. One of my favorite places to go when near downtown Sunnyvale to catch something to eat late night. They stay open until midnight. Their food is fresh and good, with the area nicely lit even during the night. They have heaters on the walls of the front patio area. Service is fairly done by yourself with self checkout. I ordered the following: - Swiss & Shroom Meltburger: 8.5/10 The burger was really juicy and the mushroom did a really great job complementing the flavor. The patty was perfect. I did also use the tomato soup as dip even though it didn't need it but it added even more flavor. The spinach was alright, personally would prefer a different green in it. I did also include grilled onions which I thought were better than the crispy onions. - Tomato Soup: 10/10 Flavorful and perfect soup texture. Perfect for soup or to be used as dip. - Garlic Parmesan Fries: 6/10 They were alright. This restaurant was a nice find. And I only found it thanks to Yelp! We enjoyed a few items. First was the original single melt burger. Asked for the jalapeño-pickle mix on the side. One I tried it, I wished I got the double instead, it was so tasty. A little greasy, but what burger is not? Second was the melty mac. I considered grilled cheese instead, but what dish better to rate a cheese place than mac 'n cheese. I was not disappointed. Very yummy, not overly cheesy and topped with a very nice bread crumb that made the consistency perfect. Two sides we tried were the garlic parmesan fries and the tomato soup. Both were great. The fries were perfectly crispy-cooked IMO. And the right size and thickness. Loaded with toppings. The tomato soup had a nice sweetness and creamy and smooth. I forgot the fountain drink brand, but it was one of those designer brands. The diet cola was good, the lemon lime was good. The ginger ale was a little too hot for me. Root beer was super duper sweet. You enter and order at the counter, then get a pager. The service was really friendly and the foot prepared quickly. Parking garage around the corner in the back. Came here for the BTS army market and sat outside in their shaded patio area. It's really clean, a good amount of seating and had trash cans plus napkins available and TV's with sports and music playing. Got their kids meal cheese burger and it was better than i expected, especially their fries were good. I'm definitely coming back. The menu is filled with lots of things I would love to eat. The food is definitely high quality...but you pay for it. Still for the food and the service, it's worth it. The Melt is largely a burger joint with some focus on cheese and classic melts (except tuna melt surprisingly). Large enough variety to please most people including vegetarians. And absolutely love the craft soda! FOOD: I don't know if everyone has local craft soda, but here in Sunnyvale it's top notch. I especially loved the root beer but we tried a couple of flavors. Watch out for the ginger ale! It has a bit of a snap. But we also ordered milkshakes and agreed this was one of the best we've had in a long time - especially for a burger joint! The Sicilian Melt was really yummy. The mushrooms were a great addition and really popped the flavor. Ordered the mini mac and for sure the Melt does Mac and Cheese very well. Delicious food!! I thought the burgers here had the perfect Smokey flavor, and the buns were so soft and delicious. I do wish they had sliced pickles as a topping but I'm happy that they gave a pickle spear on the side as well! The three cheese classic grilled sandwich is AMAZING I know it seems simple but I'm such a sucker for a good grilled cheese sandwich! I thought the bacon cheddar ranch fries were delicious, but definitely a little heavy so very shareable! My favorite was definitely the garlic Parmesan fries, it had a really great garlic flavor and was perfectly seasoned! The service was wonderful, the staff was sweet and accommodating and the food came out quickly! Great place for friends gathering, family fast food and food definitely kids friendly. Ordered patty melt, cheddar bacon fries and strawberry milkshake to go. The waiter was nice and friendly to deliver the drink while I was waiting. And the food was ready in less than 10 mins. Smells so good and my son gave 5 stars to the fries and the drink, the patty melt has lots of onions ( maybe kids not into it, it tasted good to me). One of the best burgers in my option. I loved everything about this place. If you were to compare it to the habit, shake shack, or any of the chains like it, this one beats it by a mile! When arriving, the workers were so friendly and kind. They gave us some good recommendations and we were able to go from there. I order the signature burger which was so amazing and juicy. The meat had so much flavor inside. Side note, I forgot to add in all of the free items such as the lettuce, tomato ect. because I thought it just came with it but I ended up adding an egg and avocado and it made it so great. My bf ordered the bbq burger and he also said it was one of the most flavorful burgers we've had. My favorite thing here would have to be their garlic parmesan fries which was bursting with flavor. I would highly recommend getting these! We also ordered the cobb salad which I would skip on since the lettuce they use isn't my favorite. I thought the chicken could have been crispier (this was done-in), but there was still a nice crunch! Sweet potato fries were also solid. I would order both again. Order at the counter or on a tablet, and food comes out FAST! I loved that you can make ANY burger with an impossible patty. Also loved that they had kids meal options which always feels like a great deal when it pretty much looks like an adult meal to me with a cheeseburger/grilled cheese + fruit/fries. This is one of the restaurants that serve melty sandwiches and they open late at night. It's pretty small here compared to the one in Palo Alto. I have never ordered from that place, but I want to dine in this location. The place is quite modern and spacious. They have a fountain machine, which is branded by Alameda Soda. You'll may find these machines in different restaurants, but the soda taste is different compared to ones we usually get. Quite pricey tbh, but the food is good though. I like how they prepped the mac and cheese and it really blends well with bacon and toasted bread. Fries are good too, but honestly thought that they're garlic fries. My cousin picked me up for lunch on my visit to the Bay and asked where I wanted to go. Now I have a rule that whenever I travel to never go to a place I can go to at home. With that in mind, we ended up here. The place has both inside and outside seating and is an excellent spot to eat at. My cousin ordered the Spicy Chicken with sweet potato fries, while I had the BBQ Bacon burger with garlic parmesan fries. The burgers are made tavern style which is a nice touch for a fast food joint. The burger I had hit all the happy places a burger should. The garlic fries were good, but actually a little too much garlic for my liking. I liked the melt seasoning on it and added a lot of flavor. Note I didn't see an option to add any side sauces like ketchup or mayo, but I used ketchup from home. However the fries and burger didn't really need much ketchup as they were really flavorful and tasty without.
