    Chicken chili verde mac
    Kerri C.

I was craving mac and cheese, and boy did this spot deliver! I also had a weird craving for green chilis, and wouldn't you know it, they had a chicken chili verde mac and cheese. It was literally everything I dreamed of. If I find myself in the San Jose airport I'll definitely be back!

I'm partly embarrassed that I paid $20 for an airport breakfast burrito. Yes, it's a novel mac and cheese concept but it was nowhere near what I would justify a $20 breakfast burrito. The mac was overly soft, flavors were overpowered by the mac sauce, and tortilla was bready. This was tolerable in comparison to SJC food options, but the price is the sticking point here.

Delicious mac and cheese! It was very fresh and hot! I ordered it as a sandwich on sourdough bread.

It was delicious and convenient located in the airport. I ate where while waiting for my layover. The service was good, the choices were great. They even had breakfast Mac and cheese bowls. There wasn't a lot of seating a couple small spots but there was also a small bar to sit as well. They had both eat in and to go options.

Probably the worse food at an airport. Got the pesto chicken sandwich for $18 it was not worth $8. I get that airport food is not the greatest or cheapest but doesn't have to be this bad. The bread wasn't even legit sourdough it was some nasty store bought toast, the pesto was flavorless and simply lacked many things. Even my 7 month old didn't like trying the pasta. Don't waste your money here.

We stopped by here to grab breakfast before taking a 5-hour flight. We got the mission (bacon, sausage, ham, egg mac and cheese) and the alameda (egg and spinach mac & cheese). The portions were really huge, and the food was neatly packed in solid containers, which is great to carry with you on the flight. You can't really go wrong with mac & cheese, but these were really good and flavorful. Service was quick, and staff were friendly.

Food isn't the greatest! Good espresso martini though. Mac and cheese is not Mac and cheesin

We had a 2.5 layover so my daughter and I decided to check this place out. I ordered a beer and she ordered an espresso martini. Both drinks were perfect. Shift changed and the waitress that took over either didn't understand English or she was new. This is where it goes downhill. I ordered a second beer and my daughter ordered a Jack and diet. We also ordered two kids Mac and cheese to go. The waitress gives me the check and says go grab a Diet Coke from the case for the Jack and diet drink. I found that odd since the had a soda dispenser. We get the check and was that charged two dollars because the first waitress decided to use Tito's and didn't say anything about the up charge. So the espresso martini that's listed as $16 on the menu was now $18. Then the Jack and diet was rang up as two shots of Jamison and a five dollar bottle of Diet Coke. Again, I really do think the waitress was possibly new and did not know how to ring things up correctly. Sidenote, the mac & cheese was pretty tasty in my opinion.

Meh mushy bbq pulled pork mac and cheese for $20. Friendly and quick service. Plus one star because the lady behind the bar randomly complimented my skin and asked what else I do for it aside from eating junk food. Instagram: TianTianEats

I think this is a must try at the SJC airport but there are some improvements that can be made. Expect usual airport prices. It was $40.70 for pulled pork Mac and cheese, modelo and loaded tots. Firstly, I asked for regular tots but got loaded ones which are $10 as opposed to $6. Besides the server who dropped my food off, the staff wasn't very friendly and welcoming. I think this is particularly disappointing because these are passengers that you may never see again. It's imperative to make a lasting impression. The food was actually tasty. It had large noodles. The pulled pork sandwich had both good flavor and good texture. I didn't sense a smoked smell from it. Good roux and not too thick or runny. It's a decent portion. I didn't finish it. The loaded Tots came with bacon, jalapeño, and creamy cheese sauce. The tots were not very crispy and it was completely overcome by the toppings. This made it a mushy mess unfortunately. But again, it did have good seasoning so I gave it a pass. Good size portion again but probably not worth $10 IMO outside of the airport. Modelo was cold and crisp. Nothing more to add except it really hit the spot. Ambience was fairly quiet. There's 3 televisions above the bar. Plenty of cocktail drinks to order but only 8 seats at the bar itself. There are 4 other seats inside and 10 seats outside. The staff is very unprofessional. The manager argued with another employee about giving a customer a complimentary item due to a payment issue. This is a huge turnoff. Quality 3/5 Time to be acknowledged 5/5 Time to be served 5/5 Customer service 2/5

It took about 10 minutes for my food to be ready. The noodles were cooked well, and the cheese sauce was yummy. The pulled pork tasted like it came out of a package and was not good. Though it was airport food, I still felt like it was overpriced for what I received.

Decent for the airport. I will say if you're going to eat this make sure you leave time to walk after. Got the bacon Mac and it came out pretty quick. Comes in a black plastic to go container which is a little interesting considering the temperature of the ingredients, but it is a to go style place anyway. Taste is pretty good.. better than a boxed for sure. There's a mix of cheese and probably some velveta type cheese, but it is filling!

Tried out this place for a takeout meal to bring onto a long flight and got their BBQ pulled pork mac n cheese. The food is pretty decent for airport food and comes in a nice seal container for carrying onto a flight. Of course, expect airport prices for any food here. There are plenty of tables for eating and service/ambiance was average. Food is ready for takeout within 10 minutes.

I'm not trying to say that thick battered fish and chips are bad but this was a nice change. I also like how the filets are long thin which are easy to eat. We got absolutely hooked up with fries too with the fried fish. If I were to do it again, I would do three pieces of fish instead of two. As for the other side I got the mac salad which was not the best, didn't like it at all. My mom didn't either. Would look forward to come back and try their clam chowder and toasted bread. I also like how they give you an option of two sauces, I liked the tartar and chili garlic oil the best, bang bang was a runner up. Only reason I have 4 stars is I prefer my fish to have a crispier thicker batter, the batter looks spiced but has a very mild flavor, and the Cajun fries were not very seasoned. I prefer a heavily seasoned crispy thick batter which is definitely personal preference.

You rarely even see a working smoker around here, so the scent of that big beauty out front was welcome! We came to pick up dinner near their closing so it was empty. It's a no-frills kind of place with not much nearby, but the gentleman behind the counter was professional and efficient. You can order from the counter or the kiosk. They have both lunch and dinner plate sizes available; I wonder if they gave us end-of-day extras because those portions were impressive! Pork Rib Dinner: Served with a roll, baked beans, and potato salad. The massive pile of ribs was tender and delicious with a nice smoke. They supply big containers of sauce (sweet, tomato-based) on the side, but it's good to eat without, too. The potato salad was a chopped style, which I think I really like. The beans were pretty good, too! Chicken and Brisket Combination Dinner: Also served with a roll, baked beans, and potato salad. So much chicken! Smoked chicken can go dry, but not this one. There was a mix of moist and lean brisket; tasty, good texture, and a good smoke. I look forward to trying the rest of the menu.

I like to chop it up and mix it with the extra bbq sauce to make them little soupy bites. I think bits of the hot link would taste amazing in the baked beans which was the only thing I wasn't really a fan of. They gave me a milky taste I wasn't expecting. I was actually hoping they were soaked in the same bbq sauce as the meats. I suspect that their tangy, sweet and a tad bit spicy bbq sauce is why I like it so much. It's like a cross between a western style bbq joint and a middle eastern twist with its meats and food. Turns out, this place is mainly an Afghan restaurant! It's half eatery half a butcher shop for people to come and purchase fresh meats for some home cooking. In fact, I watched a lot of people coming in and ordering meats to go. I ordered their chili lamb kabob which was tender and juicy. It had lots of flavor from the spices but enough to where it wasn't overwhelming. I ordered it on top of a pillow of rice which was fluffy and buttery textured. It was delicious. There are sauce bottles to pair with the meats which is my favorite part. I really liked their white creamy yogurt sauce mixed with their red house chili sauce. It gave my lamb meat so much flavor and some heat. I loved my order and will definitely order two next time. I also want to try their steaks. They take their time grilling their meats so orders can take a short while. It's worth it for sure. No complaints here but I do wish they played some light music in the background for some ambiance. Things can be real quiet in here so it can be awkward dining in.
