Chocolate fondu is my favorite, it comes with an assortment of: fruits, cakes, brownies, Rice Krispies, etc. They also have fun mixed drinks. So I've been wanting to try a fondue place for a while so was pleasantly surprised my hubby booked this place for our anniversary. Neither of us had tried fondue so wasn't sure what to expect but the server was knowledgable and explained our options. We decided to go for the 3 course option of cheese with veggies, a salad and then a choice of 3 meats for a set price. We had the classic Swiss cheese to start it was so good and you're given plenty of veg to dip. The salad was what you would expect, and then the meat choice was also awesome. We had a real range from bison to duck to shrimp. We chose to cook it at the table (they give you options) and gave us the timings which were spot on. The cocktails were good also and even though we were full we had to try dessert. We chose the banana Forster as it was recommended it as very sweet but sooo good we really struggled to eat it. Went here for my anniversary and it was a wonderful decision! The restaurant is quiet, staff was amazing and the booths are very private and intimate which we really enjoyed. We felt secluded and really got to enjoy the experience in this type of setting. Being this was our first time at a fondue restaurant, we had plenty of questions. Our server was very informative and made our dinner that much more enjoyable. The food was delicious, the dessert pot being our favorite course. I had really high hopes for this because our friends were huge melting pot fans and invited us for the experience. The entire experience went downhill when it took nearly twenty minutes to fulfill drink orders for three guests. Our server would dart off before we had a chance to voice our needs leading me to believe she was either apathetic or completely overwhelmed. From the time we ordered the main courses, it took about forty minutes. Also, we had three different servers come over to assist us. There were six in our party and we were crammed into a small booth. This would be acceptable if the restaurant had been crowded- but it was mostly empty. We struggled to reach our appetizers and cheeses. The servers who made it over to us were really kind and helpful- but it was as if they didn't have the time for us. This may be a staffing shortcoming or a training deficiency. For that, I cannot speak. All in all, I can not believe two people with very long ticket times and fragmented service spent $160. I wanted to be impressed. In fact i was hoping they would do a yelp elite event again. We had reservations for 7:30. They close at 9. We had to wait nearly 45-1 hr for our table. Tons of empty spaces in restaurant. Half tables empty on a Sunday night. I was told staff had called out sick. Ok. We waited. Went to bar. No one waited on me. No one offered my son or myself a drink. Left bar. Went outside to wait as a lot of people were waiting. Finally seated. Waitress not very friendly. Super rushed. Made sure to tell me that normally they just do cheese and chocolate fondues after 8 not full meals (our reservation was 7:30). Then we got rotten broccoli like smooshy sour yellow broccoli that was greasy rotten. We asked for more veggies that were fresh and they were out of vegetables for the cheese course. Sort of a big deal as a lot of us were avoiding carbs. All we had for the cheese was the bread. Disappointing. When we ordered our meat course we were told no veggies. Just potatoes. Again disappointing. By this time son gave up on being low carb for the night. Out of shrimp. SHRIMP. Bummer. Manager did replace the 2 birthday people's meat with a lobster tail but the rest of us were just out of luck. It was sooo disappointing to be out of veggies. I still have trouble getting past that. A quick trip to get carrots broccoli and cauliflower would have been easy and made people happy. The mushrooms were good though. We had birthday people (my adult kids are a week and 12 years apart lol) so we ordered dessert. My groupon didn't include this. My fault so warning two desserts were nearly 40$. It was good. They had fruit and bananas thank goodness. The waitress rushed us like crazy. Wasn't personable at all. Never offered to get me a refill on my cocktail (that i initially had to go back to bar and find another waiter to even order and a manager to check on it before i received it) and we had to ask other servers for refills on tea and soda. She missed it on 25-50$ worth or bar tab easily. I'm disappointed i chose this place to take my family to celebrate a dual birthday. We never get to all be together often and though my daughter was super excited to be with her brother, i think everyone was bummed a little. More so me because I'm the one that footed the 200$ price tag. Plus tip. And yes we still tipped 15-20%. If the waitress hadn't treated us like we were an inconvenience and as if us being seated much later than our reservation was our fault, we'd have had a MUCH better time. First and foremost, the level of customer service from our waiter, Chase, and all of the other staff, was beyond what we would have ever expected. He was personable and was able to answer any questions we had about the dining experience. We opted in for the 4 course for 2. The cheese fondue as well as the options for dipping was outstanding. I'm giving it a 4 star review for two reasons-first, I'd say the cheese fondue has been very inconsistent depending on who's making it. But I do understand that finding staff is tough these days and I appreciate that the servers are super friendly, even if not sure how to make the cheese. Second, I have found the greeters at the front door to be rude pretty much every time I've gone here. Unfortunately, we did not have a good experience on our visit last night. Our reservation was for a birthday celebration for my daughter. All the tables for birthdays had balloons but ours did not. I did not mention it, but my daughter certainly noticed. Dinner took 3 hrs and our waiter was MIA most of the time. The manager had to stop and fill up our drinks on his behalf. The cups were dirty, and I had to get our silverware exchanged because they had cheese residue on them. We understand it's an experience. It's def not our first fondue place. But we had stacks of plates from the previous course and they never got picked up unless we asked. A dinner should not take 3 hrs for 3 courses. Maybe two tops, especially for 2 adults and 2 children. We will not be returning, as there are other fondue restaurants that provide better service, flavors, and cleaner table settings. This was the second chance we gave this location as we believe in second chances, but it still did not win us over. read more

It comes with salad, cheese, main, and chocolate courses. The California salad is the best- candied pecans, gorgonzola, and a raspberry vinaigrette. If they have the green goddess cheese- get it! It's got the green goddess dip they use in the main course- don't think its that snot- green dressing Kraft makes.. it's heaven. Yes, you have to cook your own meat for for the main course, but it's fun! Don't be lazy. I also love that they will bring you extra dipping stuff if you run out or sub meats if you have a preference. They are very accommodating for allergies/diet restrictions so just tell them before you order. But, I really love the ladies night out they do every first Thursday of the month. If you think that you're coming to The Melting Pot for just a dinner that's full of cheese - you are completely wrong! Not just consisting of a dinner - but a full-scale date experience - The Melting Pot has various options that cater to different price points. I had a Groupon for two people that was worth $45 which consisted of a three course dinner consisting of a fondue appetizer, salad, and the main entree. By also using the Yelp Check-in, we got three free chocolate covered strawberries! Combining that with the alcohol we ordered and gratuity, the total came out to be approximately $90, which would cost about $135 without the Groupon. I must say, this is an experience! The fondue we got was just exquisite. We appreciated how cheesy this place was (literally and figuratively) because we were able to dip everything we had in cheese. From the breads, meats, tomatoes, et cetera, it was all dipped in CHEESE! The experience of having the server do his/her kitchen prep in front also added to the experience. We also were thankful of how private the booths were. We didn't even realize how packed the restaurant was for a Sunday night. Everyone should try a high-end fondue experience. This place has a very nice, quiet, romantic setting with small individual booths for couples or groups. So we got a groupon and have never been to a fondue restaurant before. We had no idea that the groupon did not include any cheese/chocolate fondue, which was the whole point in coming here. The groupon only included salads and hot pot with meat and veggies. Mind blown! And not in a good way. There was a lot of confusion and explaining. Finally we opted to pay extra for the fondue experience because that's what we came here for. Way to sucker us in! So we chose the Quattro Formaggio cheese fondue. It was good. The sides to dip are simple. Chopped up bread, apple slices, some veggies. I had the Cesar salad which was very delightful. But this has been the most different Cesar salad I've ever had. It had sweet pine nuts in it, a little lemony. I'm more used to savory Ceaser salad, not sweet. it was still very delicious, but a very small portion. In fact we have never seen a smaller portioned salad before. We got the ultimate meat choices for the hot pot and chose the Coq Au Vin broth. It is a red wine broth. This was our BIGGEST mistake. Some of the meats were seasoned/marinated. Some didn't seem seasoned. But whatever we cooked in the broth, the red wine was so over-powering that everything ended up with a same taste, except for the teriyaki meat. That was the only marinated meat that stood out in the broth. We had the Caramel Toffee Crunch. It was tasty, but very simple. It came with a plate of banana slices, strawberries, marshmallows, rice crispy, brownies - all in bite sizes. Not very impressive when you think of how much you are paying for some slices of fruits and stale cubes of dessert pieces. Overall it had very simple ingredients and dipping items. TOO simple for the entire bill to cost over $80 for a couple (with the groupon factored in). We were most disappointed in the meat hot pot since you're dipping different meats with different seasonings into one broth. I think the highlight of my evening was the Cesar salad. We won't be doing this again. Although now we know how to have a fondue night at home with our friends for a lot less and using more quality cheese, chocolate, and dipping items. Oh yea, and we were charged 18% gratuity when we didn't see our waitress often and didn't get our drinks refilled 1x till the very end when we were almost done eating our dessert. read more

The service is really good. The food is not. The novelty of cooking your own food is fun for a little bit, but the whole experience could be much improved. The cocktails are mediocre at best. The seafood is not sushi grade, so let that ahi tuna get nice and gray, folks! Of all four courses, I probably enjoyed the beer cheese fondue the most. I really think that the entire experience should be revamped to have a cheese fondue starter, salad course, non-fondue entree, and fondue dessert. The meat fondue is just really not where it should be. There are a ton of options, probably too many, and then you're given a tempura batter in which to slather your meat before you cook. This is fun for a minute, but then it sticks to the pot, or falls off, and it just kind of takes away from the experience. It'd probably be better if the meat was actually good but of all the meats on our table, only the duck was edible. The steak and ahi tuna appetizing looking before they were cooked and outright disgusting when they came out of the pot. The place for a double date night and it was delicious. Make sure you plan a few hours if you're coming for dinner. We had the restaurant week menu which encompassed the items we wanted to try so it was not restrictive at all. We got two separate pots for every course of the meal which was great because we got the opportunity to try more flavors. For appetizer course we got the spinach artichoke and the quatro formaggio (although I may be remembering this name incorrectly). This course was accompanied by bread, veggies and green apples. The spinach artichoke was delicious and they gave us chips to accompany it. The green apple to dip was the only one I wasn't a fan of but they were good to eat on the side all alone haha. For the main entree we all chose separate ones but the cooking sauces were shared. I got the classic which is ideal for someone wanting to try a bit of everything. It came with chicken, pork, shrimp and angus beef. The cooking sauces we chose were the mojo and the other I can't remember but had wine in it. The mojo was good and although I dislike cilantro I did not taste any of it in the broth which I liked. The other one I wouldn't recommend because the win used as incredibly strong and despite our efforts to allow it time to cook out the wine it made little difference. The other entree named the French quarter I would recommend because it had sausage in the dish which was my favorite part of this main course. It also comes with shrimp and chicken that was Cajun seasoned. Our entrees were served with broccoli, potatoes and mushrooms. For dessert we ordered the milk turtle and citrus white chocolate. They came with a platter including pound cake, rice crispy treats, marshmallows, pineapple, strawberries and brownies. The pound cake was the best! They allow more of these to be ordered if you still have fondue so make sure to do so! The staff was very polite and the atmosphere great for more intimate setting. It's a must try! read more

Oh my, where do I start? Five of us were heading to "The Melting Pot" to celebrate my birthday. The decor of the restaurant is beautiful and very inviting. We stayed over 3 hours relaxing and celebrating. We started out the evening with two cheese fondues, Swiss and Cheddar. Both were wonderful and we had all sorts of neat items to use for dipping. We then had our salad course. I could have skipped the salad, but all our salads were wonderful, cold and crisp. We then moved to the main course. All of us ended up ordering different entrees. We also ordered two different cooking sauces, one Mojo and one oil. My entree consisted of beef filet (cut like butter), shrimp and chicken, plus assorted vegetables. We all looked at our meat portions and thought it wasn't going to be enough. We were wrong, we were stuffed when we finished. I really enjoyed the chicken cooked in the Mojo with a curry sauce topping it, major yum. It was also fun stuffing and breading our own mushrooms. Finally came the dessert course. We ordered the white chocolate and the turtle chocolate fondues. We have marshmallows(chocolate and graham craacker coated) rice crispy treats, bananas, strawberries, pound cake and cheesecake. The dessert course was decadent, hands down! As I mentioned we spent 3 hours and never felt rushed at all. Our server took incredible care of us. Been here for date night once because we got s groupon for it. The food was very expensive and portions were not amazing BUT this is a fondue place not an actual dinner restaurant. So if you want to get full this may not be a good choice unless you're willing to throw down $80-100. This place is very high class and the selection of fondues were very impressive. The one this I really enjoyed was the starter salad, some reason that was the one thing that took my breathe away! Don't get me wrong that is by no means taking away from the actual food itself but the meats were okay, especially the tuna that day was not good at all. The cheese was good, there was a few to choose from. To keep things simple, the dessert was the best part (as expected) but really for the price we really should've gotten more. We went to this melting pot because I had a bad experience at the Addison location and their recent reviews scared us a bit. Now this experience wasn't the best but unlike the last visit, they acknowledged this and went above and beyond to make sure that we still had a great time. I won't go into all of the details because ultimately we left full and happy and that's all you can ask for right? I believe our servers name was Dakota and he was amazing, he made sure we were informed of what was going on and was completely honest. Entree service started, and from that point on our service went down hill. It was not fault of our waitress, more a management issue. It seems to be no leadership tonight. I noticed our waitress be pulled all over the place and this place is not layed in a way where she would check on us. We had major issues getting water even...the front door guy doing a table count finally went to get someone to help us. Our food was wonderful, quality of the food is not in question. The dinner for 2 is 95.00 and we had that time 4, plus alcoholic beverages. We arrived at 5:45 and out at 9:00 we could have been done 8:00 easy. I enjoyed the process of a 4 course meal, I'm even fine with paying the price. The service need to be stepped up, and if they are short handed then they need to hire more people. They were not running smooth tonight at all. I will give it another try sometime, hope for great service so we can update this review to 5 stars Reasons for 3 Stars: 1. Poor Management 2. We went with friends and hd prior reservation so got seated with 5 mins of arriving. I and my husband ordered 4 course meal (seafood one), and did split it. I thought we would get the salad in two plates but we got only one and that was a bit odd, we were expecting a small portion but on two plates. Rest everything worked out well. I checked in Yelp so got 3 chocolate covered strawberries and our server probably forgot about that but Manager got it pretty quick. Our server was a nice organized guy but looked bit stressed or something was going on with him (probably overwhelmed) as it was a Saturday evening! Loved the caramel toffee dessert.
