It was confusing at first, but our waiter was patient and broke it down for me so I could understand how the menu works. The food came out in waves and for the most part was good. The cheese fondue was great, love the bread and veggies with the cheese. The meat was seasoned well but being boiled to temperature was very different for me. I rarely ever eat boiled meat so I don't have much experience in eating it so I didn't enjoy it as much as I thought i would. The chocolate fondue was awesome and love every bit of it. Their oil is always burning hot and burnd the food and the servers are smug about knowing the right temperature of the oil when it burns the food in microseconds. I visited the Melting Pot on Monday with a girlfriend and started the evening with the Black Forest old fashioned and Bavarian beer cheese fondue. The grill it yourself bratwurst, short ribs, roasted garlic Dijon potatoes and pretzel bread were definitely the best dippers the melting pot has ever offered! Now is the time to come if you're a big fondue fan. From there, we had our choice of 4 salads. We also got to pick 3 entree dippers, I opted for filet, shrimp and because I hadn't had enough cheese yet, the mushroom ravioli The cooking style for these was a mixture of Sam Adams Octoberfest beer, garlic, onion, mustard, caraway and bay leaf. They were delicious paired with 6 different finishing sauces. The filet with blue cheese sauce was perfection! Last but not least, we sampled the Black Forest chocolate fondue! We had a birthday celebration on December 26. What a great place to do it! 4 course meal, breads and wonderful cheese fondues, scrumptious salads, a main course feast for five of steak, lobster, salmon, chicken and duck for cooking at our table, and then fabulous dessert plates of cakes and berries with chocolate fondue pots for dipping. It takes a while to consume this dinner- but it's a beautiful experience for a party. There were also singles and couples throughout the restaurant, enjoying their meals. We enjoyed the cocktails. Service was very good, as the waitress explained the extensive menu, and the fondu variations, and as she added spices and herbs to our various pots at the table. We went to the melting pot for a date night and it was a night and day experience from the ft Meyer's location. We had Zac who simultaneously handled the bar and our table. The food was incredible and Zac was on top of serving and surpassing our expectations.we drove an hour and a half to get to this melting pot and we will surely be back! I have been remiss in not giving a review before now. Melting Pot is excellent at accommodating food allergies! We ate a birthday dinner in December with my daughter-in-law who has gluten, cow's milk, egg, and chicken allergies among other things. The staff did a marvelous job in guiding her through the menu. We had a two burner table and we had a gluten free pot with the MOJO Caribbean broth and one of hot oil to cook batter-coated morsels. The staff also helped my daughter-in-law choose what she should cook in her broth. She was able to enjoy all four courses. We were so pleased with the food and the service! We went back for another birthday celebration a few months later. This time there were no food allergies to consider. Our service was just as outstanding. read more

Great date night place! We had a bit of a snafu with one of our drink orders but our server, James, was amazing! He promptly fixed the issue and the night was smooth sailing after that. We had the 4 course meal starting with the loaded baked potato cheese fondue, Mojo style entree with The Land & Sea and the Classic, and finished with the Yin and Yang Chocolate. Birthday experience for my daughter and my 1st time. It was awesome and I would recommend to anyone looking to have conversation and not be rushed through a meal. I started with a cocktail- Yin & yang martini I will say I was disappointed there wasn't more alcohol in the drink for $10.95 but it was gorgeous to look at. We had the bigger night out for two and we started off with the Quattro Formaggio along with that came a variety of breads, vegetables, &fruits. I got the California salad & my daughter got the Caesar salad. Then came the entree- Lobster Tail*, Premium Filet Mignon*, Teriyaki-Marinated Sirloin*, Herb Crusted Chicken Breast*, Shrimp*, Atlantic Salmon*, Wild Mushroom Sacchetti* GF with substitutes for Teriyaki Sirloin, Herb Chicken and Sacchetti. Our cooking style was the cast iron grill. They give you a variety of sauces but we are ours plain. Next comes dessert- I believe it was a dulce with salted caramel and it came with a variety of fruit and cakes. They also brought out a beautiful plate the said Happy Birthday written in chocolate with a small birthday cake you can dip in the chocolate. My suggestions if you have never eaten here is to remember you can take home what you don't eat so go easy on the cheese. By the time we got to dessert we were extremely full. I also did not like the wine (it didn't cook off) in the cheese but our waitress said they will leave it out if you ask as well as the one that has beer in it. The new management under Celinda Norton has got this melting pot back to where it should have been from the last few times that I have visited. They actually make the fondue at the table like the old days it's part of the experience the previous management had servers bringing out a blob of cheese already mixed and it was never that fresh or as good as preparing it at the table.Celinda was very helpful and kind for my sons birthday dinner as was Jake Nugent our server. I have been to several other Melting Pot locations over the years and each time I go the novelty fades a bit more. I have to say as a teenager, the one time I got to go, I would have rated The Melting Pot 5 stars because it was so much fun the first time, fondue (cheese, meat and chocolate) all seemed top notch. As an adult with a much more sophisticated pallet, the quality and type of food just does not fit with what I would choose to drop $150 on. You are paying for the novelty not the quality. We visited on a Saturday night and the restaurant was not that busy. There were a few people in our group that had never been to the Melting Pot and they were actually confused by the menu. Our server got a bit frustrated because everyone did not want the 4-course experience but they really push you to this as it is a group experience and if all in the group don't order the 4-courses it just becomes a bit strange. First Course: The we got the alpine classic alpine and the Quattro Formaggio. The cheese was good, who does not like dipping bread into hot cheese. The Quattro Formaggio was my favorite of the two. Second Course: Salad, I ordered the chopped salad but did not eat it. It was very small and looked underwhelming, seemed like a waste as we had so much food coming. Third course: Entree, there was a group of 9 of us and we only got to choose two broths, one of the broths comes with the entree but the pressure you to order one with additional seasoning at an additional cost. We ordered the Champagne and the Mojo. I ordered raw "sushi grade" tuna with sesame seeds. I really did not need broth but they recommended I cook it a bit anyway. Unfortunately they put the mojo broth in front of me and that was not going to work with my tuna... I kept having to reach over other people to use the Champagne broth which was a little frustrating for everyone. My husband ordered the chicken breast, shrimp and fillet combo. The fillet looked very low quality and the shrimp were small. I did not try his though. Fourth Course: dessert, again similar to the cheese you can't go wrong with dunking cakes, fruit, etc. into bananas foster flavored chocolate. I am sure the people who visited for the first time enjoyed the experience but I would rather not go back to The Melting Pot again. There are far highly qualify restaurant experiences that I would enjoy more. read more

I hadn't been to a melting pot in easily 15 years. Why? You ask... because once I became unable to process wheat properly I just didn't go. I recently found out that they have gluten free bread and desserts and that almost all their dishes are GF. So tonight we tried the Melting Pot in Sarasota and had a wonderful time. The cheddar cheese dip was delicious. Salad was fresh and crispy. When I didn't realize that one of the ingredients that came on my salad was one I couldn't eat they took it back and gave me a fresh one without any issues. Very accommodating. We tried duck, chicken, sirloin and angus steak for the entree. Then we moved onto chocolate fondu. They came out with piles of little dessert dippers. The whole experience was super fun. If you try it, allow yourself plenty of time to enjoy yourself. It is appropriate for children that can contain themselves as this location is also a good dating spot. Started off well but then the server just got passive aggressive and just rude, even the table next to us said something. As a server myself I try not to say anything to management because I understand how it can get stressful. But the place was empty. We also ordered a meal for one at half that price, and a salad and main course a la cart for my husband who wasn't interested in cheese or dessert. It was good to know we could order any way we wanted. We had a shrimp allergy in the group and were able to substitute shrimp for salmon in our selection. The salmon turned out to be one of the most delicious options in our plate. You'll get a variety of sauces to dip your meat in, and a plate of side veggies. You can ask for more veggies at no charge. The food was excellent and so was the service. This is an experience type of place where you will spend about two hours eating/cooking. It's set up to share. I don't recommend it for a first date unless you really like the person and know you will be able to fill two hours of conversation-otherwise...awkward! Another thing to keep in mind is that because you cook at your table you will be leaving with a very distinctive scent of food! When we started ordering we were told we couldn't order oil as a cooking style because oil is too expensive. WHAT?! canola oil!! We asked if we could just pay the difference or an up charge.
