We went to the melting pot after my sister's wedding to celebrate. Our waiter was extremely attentive to our large party, the service was great. I enjoyed all of the fondues we chose + dessert. HOWEVER... I would NOT recommend the lobster tail. It smelled spoiled, very fishy. Other than this, everything was delicious.

I made a mistake with my reservation but the manager, Carson was able to get us taken of. Samual, our server , did an excellent job always paying close attention to our needs. What a great experience. The food was amazing as usual. We will be back. Victoria Suffolk, Va

This was a great visit to celebrate a birthday and the holiday. The 4 course meal is always a great deal. The server and trainer were very polite and professional. The atmosphere cannot be beat it is excellent for any occasion. We had the Wisconsin Cheddar for the cheese. The Coq au vin is just amazing for the base, and the milk chocolate for the desert. They really make it special when there.

Wow! I love "Virginia Beach Restaurant Week" This is my first stop at one of many amazing restaurants that is offering pre-set course meals for this week's event. Starts Jan 15th - 21st. The official website: dineinvb.com I chose "The Melting Pot" cause I haven't had it in a while, plus I love fondue. The pre- set course meal was only $35 per person and well worth it! They start with the appetizer and they give you big pile of veggies and bread. Plus you get to chose you cheese and broth Then comes the ceaser salad then main course. I just love the 6 dips that you can try. It didn't come with dessert, but you can add it on for additional $10 per person. In my book it's so worth it! My waiter was so cool and on top of everything! The atmosphere is cozy. Definitely worth the price plus I got my doggy bag! Looking forward to my next stop!

2nd year anniversary! 2nd location we've been too. The whole experience is top notch. Great one on one time with your date. We had a louder party around us so not as romantic as could be, but still had a great experience. Our waiter was great too. My only complaint is we constantly had to ask for refills. Even when he'd pass by and see they needed to be refilled. Since this is a "do it yourself" experience, I think keeping a drank refilled shouldn't be to much to ask. Also never once asked if we wanted another glass of wine! But with that said. We'd still come back and still recommend. Perfect date night choice

The Melting Pot isn't dinner, it's an experience. An interactive delicious experience. It's a romantic atmosphere with the delicious scents of cooking meat, cheeses and chocolates as you walk in the door. They have a huge wine bible and delightful cocktails. We had the alpine cheese which is a blend of cheeses a white wine and garlic base with some nutmeg to finish. Salad course is one I skip and take to go. The meats were cooked in the coq au vin style which is a broth base mixed with red wine, garlic, and mushrooms. Everything as always was delicious and tasty. And to finish the yin yang, the perfect blend of dark chocolate and white chocolate.

Had my daughters 15th birthday party here and the teeny boppers loved it! Our waitress hardly came back to check on us but we still managed to have a nice time. The kidz were so impressed and really enjoyed the dessert fondue. I booked a table for 8 people and was told if anyone needed to be subtracted from the party you would need to let them know 24 hours in advance or there will be a charge of $15 per person that does not show up, so keep that in mind if you are trying to book a large party. Also, they allow you to bring your own decorations and cake. They have a nice walk in freezer and will keep the cake in the back for you until your ready. You are also able to skip the 4 course meal and go straight to entrees or the dessert, which came in handy because these are teens here, and they were not willing to wait patiently for the whole entire 4 course meal experience to go by. They wanted to eat and dig right into the sweets the little devils! lol.

My husband took me here for my birthday and it was both of our first time at any kind of restaurant like this. We loved it! The atmosphere was chill, the food was amazing, and our server was even better! (Natalie, you're the absolute best and thank you for putting up with our shenanigans!) We're already planning on going back!

I am not sure why I haven't reviewed this place I've been here several times over the years. The waitstaff are always nice when I come. One of the waiters says hi to me all the time and knows to bring my Coke when he sees me. He has a beard, kinda long hair, young, been there at least two years. He's sweet. The food is great and there are tons of choices and combinations to choose when ordering your food. One thing I will say is that it's a bit dark in the restaurant. For me it can be difficult to read the menu because I have a bit of night blindness. Now my hubby and I do tend to get the same thing when we go. I like the mojo sauce for the meats. We both love the Wisconsin Cheddar and the California salad. The reason I took a star away...I was so disappointed to see that they took the filet off which you could order Cajun or plain and replaced it with brown sugar bourbon seasoning. It wasn't good both my husband and I were so disappointed which is why they lost a star from me. I feel they should keep the other filet and add this one and let folks pick if they want that version. Overall everything tasted good and our waitress was super sweet.

In the summer I tend to gravitate toward lighter, sweeter wines, so the flight felt like the perfect choice for the day. Not surprisingly, my taste buds traveled straight to Italy. The Italian wines on the flight ended up being my favorites, with the standout being La Doria Moscato D'Asti. It was light, slightly bubbly, and perfectly balanced -- sweet but still refreshing. If you enjoy Moscato-style wines, this one was definitely the highlight of the tasting for me. The winery itself has a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere that makes it easy to settle in and enjoy a glass (or a flight). They also offer a selection of light bites if you want something to snack on while you're tasting. I ordered the house biscuits with jam and butter, which are made in-house, along with an order of fries. Both worked well as simple bites alongside the wine. If I had been with a group, I probably would have ordered the charcuterie board -- the one at the table next to me looked very generous and easily shareable. Service was friendly and welcoming, and since it wasn't overly crowded when I visited, it made for a relaxed afternoon tasting experience. We actually stopped in after spending the day out enjoying the sunshine with my Boston Terrier, Lexi, and it ended up being a nice, laid-back way to wind down the afternoon

I booked a Valentine's Day reservation four weeks ago. Three days before the date, I received a text notifying me of a special Valentine's Day menu. I reviewed it and found it consists mostly of seafood or red meat items, with very few options other options. I immediately called to confirm whether this special menu is the only one available that evening. The restaurant confirmed that it is. This information was not disclosed at the time of booking or in the weeks following. Had I been informed upfront that only this limited menu would be offered, I would not have made the reservation. I consider this very poor customer service.

I called earlier in the day to see if we should make reservations, but was told they wouldn't be busy. Well, we got there and while they had plenty of tables at 6:30PM, but 7PM that place was completely packed! They had lots of carry-out orders happening too, which all made the kitchen a little slow. We ordered many dishes to share and all started coming out one after another over the next hour until the beef & broccoli was the last dish. Again, I attribute the slowness of the kitchen to their being so busy. At least all the food that came out was very fresh, tasty, and piping hot. Some interesting items that were quite good were their potatoes and green peppers. This dish is something I've never seen before but was pretty good! It features long julienned potatoes that they clearly soak in water before wok'ing with the peppers - that was all that was in the dish, but it was still tasty. Their Fish in Chili Oil & Bean Sprouts was really tasty and fresh! The fish is flounder. Their spicy wontons in chili oil were very popular with our group too. Service here was friendly too and helpful. Like I said, we tried many items, so many more than I just outlined and all were nice. I'd definitely return for a slightly more elevated Chinese menu from what you get at the typical Chinese-American joints.

The valet greeted us warmly, parked the car, and even opened the door for my wife -- a small but meaningful touch that set the tone for the evening. At the table, we were pleasantly surprised to find a beautiful birthday card signed by the entire staff. Shortly after being seated, John, our server, welcomed us, wished me a happy birthday, and took our drink orders. When he returned, he walked us through the evening's specials with professionalism and enthusiasm. We began with the sea scallops ($26), cooked perfectly and finished with kabocha squash purée, hazelnut, crispy sage, Honeycrisp apple, and fennel relish. The dish was beautifully balanced and outstandingly delicious. Next, we shared Zoe's Caesar salad ($14), their interpretation of the classic. Served as a split wedge with green goddess Caesar dressing, brioche croutons, chicharrón bacon, roasted tomatoes, and finely grated Parmesan, every component was fresh and flavorful. We thoroughly enjoyed it. For dinner, my wife selected the 7 oz Creekstone filet mignon ($59), cooked perfectly to medium rare and served with Boursin whipped potatoes, caulilini, and truffle demi-glace. It was a creative dish, and all the components worked harmoniously. She enjoyed it very much. I chose the local catch halibut ($54), accompanied by butternut squash risotto, crispy cider-glazed Brussels sprouts, beurre noisette, prosciutto, and toasted hazelnuts. The dish arrived piping hot and impressed from the first bite. The halibut was perfectly cooked, and the risotto complemented the dish beautifully. I thoroughly enjoyed every bite. After such a wonderful meal, we decided to share dessert and opted for the spiced fig crème brûlée ($12). This excellent interpretation of the classic was served with apple streusel crumbles and julienned Honeycrisp apples. It looked as good as it tasted, and we both enjoyed it very much. From start to finish, our experience was exceptional. I highly recommend checking out this wonderful local eatery. You'll be glad you did -- and you'll be supporting one of the preeminent restaurants in the Virginia Beach fine dining scene.

I asked if they'd accommodate a table for 1 as I didn't feel like eating at the bar. The hostess checked and said that they would and took my reservation. I arrived on time and when I gave my name, the hostess immediately smiled and said "one table for Ms Mary-Ann". Mr. Tall and handsome led me to a table that was in the open facing the kitchen. Without a word he asked if I'd rather sit at a corner table away from the main dining traffic. I really appreciated the subtle suggestion probably empathetically seeing my unsaid wish for privacy. It took some time for my server Sonya to come but she apologized as she was engaged at wine table service. Food: I ordered the charred octopus appetizer and the Sea scallops entree. It came with a choice of risotto or forbidden rice. Sonya recommended the latter. While waiting, they served amuse bouche of whipped salmon and something wonderful. Charred octopus was absolutely phenomenal. I may now like Zoe's better than Luce Secondo or Ilo Bistro... top 3! Everything accompanying the octopus cooked tender was intentional: greens, light baked potato cubes, micro greens... Sea scallops that came with curry broth and forbidden rice was delicious! Scallops cooked to perfection, lean in for a waft of the dish and it's heaven. I decided to get dessert since a great restaurant typically has great desserts! I ordered the OMG carrot cake (their signature dessert am told) and an affogato which is served with their restaurant made vanilla ice cream. Definitely worth the dress up with my kitty heel Louboutin tonight to break out of my PJ's tonight!

Every dinner I've had has been a bit lackluster. Not bad, but not great or memorable either. I tried the blackened chicken tacos this week which were a bit dry and I found the cucumber salad a strange side dish for tacos. Also had a smash burger which was overcooked.
