I was worried before coming here in late June 2026 because of all of the negative reviews I had read before. This was our first visit to the restaurant. We came for my husband's birthday and we had invited another couple who had also never eaten here before. The restaurant was pretty full for 3 pm, but we were able to be seated 5-10 minutes after we arrived thanks to our reservation. Our server was attentive. The market table was amazing and had great variety. I ordered the pan-seared salmon which was delicious while everyone else at the table had the full churrasco which they enjoyed. I recommend this place for a birthday celebration. Six were in attendance, drinks were good, and they are on it with the drinks. I think it a distraction tactic to keep people inebriated and not focused on the variety of meat coming out. Too many people crammed into a space. Not worth the wait, hype or the expense. Beware of the meats they advertise to serve. I don't care about how many variations of CHICKEN you bring out, I'm not impressed. I can buy and cook chicken all day long. I love a real good tender medium well ribeye. Well, none came out so I had to ask a few times, they were polite and asked me how I would like it cooked, I received an eye roll the third time I asked. I've been wanting to try this place for the longest time, and I finally got the chance! They have plenty of parking, which was nice. Even though I was a little late for my reservation, we were seated right away. The ambiance was really good. Since it was our first time, our server explained how everything worked, which I really appreciated. We went with the full churrasco experience, and the market table was honestly one of my favorite parts. There were so many salads, dressings, soups, bread, rice, beans, and other sides. Everything I tried was really good, and there was a huge variety. I also got the pineapple mint lemonade, and it was refreshing. The meat kept coming to the table, and there were a lot of different cuts to try. Some were really good, but a few were a little dry and chewy. There was also quite a bit of waiting between some of the meats. I waited a long time for the chicken, and unfortunately never got to try the lamb because it didn't make it to our table before we were done. My friends and I went for the National Capirinha Event. It was nice that they had us on the enclosed patio but the air was on high so it was chilly in that small space. The food was good but being someone who doesn't eat pork, I wasn't able to enjoy the full experience of the food that was given. However what was lacking variety was definitely not lacking in abundance. It was a good spread and it was nice that we got to have a part of the churrasco experience with the waiter coming through with a couple of different steaks. There was only one server and one bartender for the experience so service was a little slow and they even had to have a couple of managers help serve and clear the tables. This three star review is purely because of service. The restaurant comes of as high end but acts like a Burger King when it comes to service. Our waitress clearly was checked out. It was difficult to get our drinks refilled. I asked for a spoon for the soup that was served at the bar and she just never brought one. You are given a card to place up green when you want meat and red when you have plenty and you can flip as needed. Cool idea except they kept going to the same tables and would run out of meat and never made it to our tables over and over again. The salad bar was understocked and disappointing. I'm not new to Brazilian all you can eat style restaurant. 757 had quite a few back in the day before they started closing down, so to see FDC in the area was exciting. I went on a Saturday evening with no reservations but was able to be seated within 45 minutes. That was pretty good considering I didn't have a reservation. We were seated all the way in the back at the enclosed porch section of the restaurant. I felt sitting back here, we were missed quite often. The service was not good at all. The waiters were nice but they never came back with any of my request like ice, more water or some cheesy bread. The meat that was coming around was the same thing. Only got to try 2 meats; ribeye and a flank and it was so salty!! After 2.5 hours never got to try the chicken, grilled pineapple, sausage and whatever else they had for dinner. We were not super impressed, but also not mad at our experience at Fogo de Chão. Please note: MAKE THE RESERVATION, especially if you are planning on going on Saturday night. Make the reservation ASAP, books quickly. As for the overall experience, prepare to be extremely overstimulated by the loud noise of surrounding tables (tables are seated very close together, we felt like a can of sardines as we were sat in a tight corner). The waiting area at front is also very small and crowded. Meat is more than plentiful (and relatively good depending on the selection, some were dry), and the salad bar is all you can eat and filled with delicious, fresh foods! The grilled pineapple is DELICIOUS! The positives begin to run out there- service was slow, and they kept attempting to up-charge us by going table to table and offering shots (if we wanted them, we would order them). Some of the sides are hit or miss. I do like how they have cheese. The tomato and mozzarella soup was too salty for me. The cuts of meat are always pretty good! I've been here twice now. Once for brunch about the time they opened and I went for lunch today. Service was good. Except for one thing - I got charge $8.95 for a bottle of water! I tried to order a beer. We celebrated my friends birthday at Fogo. She made reservations, which because it was Valentine's weekend turned into a bit of a wait even with the reservation. It was brunch when we went, so that must be a busy service. Once we were seated my friends got the full churrasco experience with chicken, filet mignon, steak, and other meats that are brought to the table and sliced Brazilian style, and it's fresh. You're given a card that you turn over to green for more, and red for no thanks. Which is cool. They also had the market side table salad bar which had an array of salad, pasta salad, cheese, fruit, and etc. Most dishes were cold items. There were some items missing from the buffet when they made their plates. But they seemed to still enjoy their meals. It also came with mashed potatoes, polenta fries, plantains, and cheese popover rolls for the table. The rolls were absolutely amazing. Cheesy, squishy,fluffly, and so easy to eat 20 and not realize it. Lol. The polenta fries were buttery and I did like them, but they were light on flavor, but still enjoyable. I ordered the lobster macaroni. I had to watch my friends eat while I waited 25-30 minutes for my food to come out, so that was kind of disappointing. But the staff apologized for the delay. The lobster Mac was buttery and had a good amount of lobster. It could have used some seasoning but I'd still get it again. The portion was a decent size. If your not getting the churrasco experience then it's not really a lot of other entrees to choose from. They did have a few, and some ala carte dishes. So I made a side my entree which actually worked out. They have an all day happy hour menu, but you absolutely must sit at the bar. So I was a little bummed about the limited options I had to choose from. Other than that, the restaurant was packed. The staff were all friendly, and we had a good time. They also gave the birthday girl a free slice of cake! The cake looked delicious and rich. My other friend got tres leches cake and she enjoyed hers as well. They also had cocktails which looked refreshing, but were definitely mostly ice. The parking lot isn't all that it should be for the size of the restaurant. We celebrated my friend's birthday at Fogo de Chão last weekend and it was definitely an experience. As soon as we walked in, the lobby was crowded with people waiting to be seated. We made reservations for Noon on a Sunday, so we hoped we wouldn't have to wait too long and seeing as though we were shoulder-to-shoulder with people in the lobby, we were anxiously waiting to be seated. Around 12:20pm, we checked with the ladies at the front to inquire about our table. She kept saying that it shouldn't be too much longer so we gave it a few more minutes and we were seated by 12:30pm. With it being Valentine's weekend, we assumed it would be busy but having to wait in a very small area with many other people was quite uncomfortable. Our server quickly greeted us and mentioned that there would be multiple servers tending to our table. He went over the menu, explained the Churrasco experience and brought out waters. We were then given their complimentary Popovers but honestly, I wasn't a fan of the texture. I decided on the Full Churrasco experience which included the Market Table and Brazilian Sides. The Market Table had many options to choose from. I thoroughly enjoyed the Potato Salad, Elote Corn, Smoked Salmon and Caesar Salad. Once we grabbed our sides, we were ready to try the different meat options. I loved how they offered different meat temps so that everyone could enjoy it to their liking. The Sirloins and Ribeye were pretty good but definitely under seasoned. My favorite was the Lamb Chops! My friend ordered the Lobster Mac & Cheese and it tasted okay. The seafood flavor was a bit over powering and it could've used way more cheese. The Garlic Mashed Potatoes were delicious! Since it was our friend's birthday, she was able to choose a complimentary dessert so she went with the Chocolate Brigadeiro, which looked delicious. I chose the Tres Leches Cake and it was divine! Overall, we had a pretty decent experience. Lamara, who was apart of the Customer Service Team, stopped by frequently to ensure we had everything we needed. She was absolutely wonderful and our servers were just as great. Particularly the marketplace fruit & pickles were fantastic. After 5 visits, I confidently can vouch that I enjoy the pichana, garlic sirloin steak, and rump roast sirloin cuts as my favorite meats for the churrasco. I usually go for the indulgent churrasco which includes a choice of side and a dessert. I feel it's a good deal if you want to splurge. While you can't take home any of the sides or any food home from the churrascos -you can take your side choice and dessert to go if you select the indulgent churrasco. I usually go for the crab cake or lobster as my side and for the dessert the tres leches cake or creme brûlée. It's more than plenty. While you don't have to partake in any of the churrascos (full buffet including meats) , they do offer plated meals. There is a separate bar menu if you are seated at the bar. I strongly recommend making reservations ahead of time. Typically a week in advance if dining on weekends and peak times. The menu prices tend to be less expensive during the week versus weekends. If you choose not to do the churrasco, you can do the all you can eat market table and soups. It consists of an array of fruits and salads including chicken salad, potato salads and charcuterie options. I recommend at least doing the full churrasco at least once. It's an experience in itself. You grab a plate from the buffet area, choose sides and/or soups from the market table area. Make sure you leave room on your plate for the meats or grab two plates one for your meats and one for your sides. You have a coaster that has a green side and red side. When you're ready the gauchos (meat servers) come around and if they see your coaster is on green will stop by your table with different cuts of meat from pork, chicken, lamb, beef) all different. You don't have to accept the meat if you choose not to. If you don't see the cut you want, you can request they bring one out. Be sure to have your tongs ready as they cut enough to hang to catch on certain meats. Other times they will just slide it off the stick onto your plate. Strawberry was to die for! I do believe the require reservations here as we had overhead them talking to another group when they arrived (this was around lunch on a weekday). We had made a reservation and we're sat around 5 minutes later. Not my first time at a Fogo but it was my first time doing lunch and at this location. Server was attentive and was great when trying to find the answer to a question I had but had forgotten a soft drink ordered and charged. Didn't really have the opportunity to remind but also had the charge removed easily. The meat options were ok, I think I saw the same 8-10 options, some were really salty but overall, not bad. Fogo de Chao, after years without a Hampton Roads presence, finally opened a location in the Pembroke area of Virginia Beach in late May. I was able to celebrate my birthday at Fogo less than two weeks after they opened. Having dined at a Fogo in Minneapolis, I came in with high expectations. The Fogo in Minneapolis is huge, not to mention beautiful. I came in on a Friday night and their staff treated our party like royalty. Upon entering the VB Fogo, this venue is much smaller (they took over Romano's Macaroni Grill), although their interior looks amazing. Going back to its smaller size, there were times when the walkways were tight, tight to the point where I actively had to move over or squeeze in to make it through. So anytime they're near or at full capacity, it will be tough to get around. This is an issue since people are constantly going to and fro. Service is impeccable. Everyone was friendly, informative, moved with purpose and generally made a concerted effort to make my mom and I feel at home. Of course, they also went the full nine for me because of my birthday, so Fogo will always score high in the customer service department. The biggest issue with this Fogo, and I will attribute it to them still being brand new, is the food. There were inconsistencies there - some of their proteins were overcooked to the point of being dry and tough. The items that were on point were very good and, of course, you can eat until your heart's (er, stomach) content. I don't have much of an appetite, though, so I quickly got to a point where I was forcing myself to eat, haha. Overall, my initial (and only visit thus far) visit is a 3.5-4 star experience. Despite playing roulette with the doneness of their proteins, this was a memorable experience, and I'm confident that their food will all be up to par in time. The ambiance is vibrant and lively, but the hostesses need a bit more tact in treatment of patrons. Additionally a woman seated by herself near the bar had her phone on speaker, which was probably at volume 10, having a conversation while dining. Absolutely horrible experience. The service was abysmal from start to finish. I was there with my wife and sister, and we waited 30-40 minutes just to get plates. Once we finally got the plates ourselves, it was another 30 minutes before any food was brought around. We were there for approximately two hours and were served only three small pieces of meat. At a restaurant where the entire experience revolves around being served at your table, that is completely unacceptable. We spent most of our meal sitting with empty plates, waiting for someone to actually serve us. For the price and the type of dining experience this restaurant advertises, the service wasn't just disappointing--it completely failed to deliver what we paid for. I kind of struggled a bit with this review mainly b/c of a few simple things. First - the meat cuts were pretty good. Once the meat starts flowing, it really picks up. Quality of the cooks and cuts varied (as expected) and some cuts are just astounding. Service - varied a bit depending on visit. Our first time here the servers were super awesome. Second time, not the same level, but still pretty decent. Where I struggled - and I know it's everywhere... the cost of this is pretty hard to take in. We went all in on our experience and I always like to get the special butter with it. The one thing I can't figure out is why the butter takes nearly 20-30 minutes before it ever arrives. If it's a special add-on, why not add it on at the beginning. If you can roll this way and spend like this, hey cool more props to ya.. but just like most things, it's pretty up there for what you get. Overall, it's pretty decent. Definitely a 'special occasion' type place for us but even then, the competition for this type of market is pretty fierce - especially in this area. I went to a Fogo in DC about 10 years ago so I remember the basic idea and their amazing salad bar. We came in for Sunday dinner to celebrate my dad's birthday. He lives in rural VA and they don't have anything like this there. We all (four adults) got the Churrasco dinner which is about $69 per person and includes their delicious salad bar and non-stop meats. I loved the salad bar - their street corn, fresh green salad, and chicken salad were soooo good! Service wasn't great. It started strong and then our server disappeared, another server got us basic things like drink refills and removed a plate or two but, for about 40 minutes aside from the meat coming by, we were ignored. It ended up my husband had to go find someone to ask for dessert menu for my dad who we were there for his birthday and ask them to come bus our table. This place is too expensive ($300+ for four adults) for them not to be paying attention and bussing the plates and stopping to ask if you need more sides, or anything at all. I'm so disappointed with the way my concern and how it is nearly impossible to get any support as a customer . It has been nearly 2 weeks and no one can seem bothered to help or even reply . I tried to pay in advance for my parents lunch 1 hour before their arrival as it was my dads 60th birthday . I purchased the enhanced and basic braziallian lunch and soft drinks . I was told I would have to get a gift card and that I can get my visitation recorded in account if I reached out. I have attached receipts to the email given to me . Loved it overall! My husbae is an eater!! I made reservations 3 weeks in advance for the Saturday before Father's Day. Reservations for 2 at 4pm. I figured we'd go early to avoid the rain and traffic during this holiday weekend. And I'm glad we did. Our experience was perfect! The only hiccup was the service. Because of the cost and plentiful staff presence, I thought service would be nothing less than stellar. Nevertheless, this did not take away from the 5 star experience. We chose the full experience and already plan to return again. My favorites; bacon wrapped chicken and ribeye. I loved the black beans and rice from the bar! My dessert wasn't bad either. We spent about 2 hours here and left pleasantly full. Parking was a bit crazy. We parked closer to Nordstrom Rack and walked over. But go here for special occasions. We went for my birthday with some friends. One of the friends I went with is Brazilian and it was nice to have explanations of everything. The service was wonderful, never had to ask for refills and they promptly removed dishes from the table. The inside of the restaurant is very elegant. They made the best of the former macaroni grill! Our family came into town and we decided to check out this new restaurant that opened up a few months ago. We tried to get reservations for what seemed like weeks and finally a spot popped up so we quickly snagged it. When we arrived we noticed how clean it was! Beautifully decorated and the assigned meat staff seemed to be working together like a well oiled machine! The Market Bar was plentiful, colorful, fresh, and enticing! Large selection of fresh salad fixings like lettuce, tomatoes and shelled edamame, prepared salads like chicken and potato salad, vegetables like steamed broccoli and asparagus, roasted veggies like cauliflower, artichokes, and eggplant, fresh fruits like papaya, kiwi, jalapeño watermelon, pomegranate, and pineapple, sauces, meats like prosciutto, salami, mortadella, and smoked salmon, cheeses like fresh chunked parmigiana, blue cheese, and manchego, bread&butter, bacon, two soups (black bean w/pork sausage, and tomato), rice, and several accoutrements! The cards were turned over to Green and a steady service of staff walked around with skewers of chorizo sausage, chicken thighs and legs, garlic chicken and steak, chicken and steak wrapped in bacon, lamb, picanha, sirloin, pork belly, cheese w/honey drizzle, and more. There was not a lack of meat service, it was very well done, and the meats brought out were highly seasoned and hot. One thing we all noticed was how drinks were not filled unless waiving a server down and asking which we had to do a couple times throughout our meal cause the glasses are pretty small so it's very easy to drink your water glass within a few drinks. At first we were just politely waiting for our five glasses to be refilled but noticed it wasn't gonna happen unless politely waiving down someone and requesting more water. I don't like bothering staff, so I wish they had some sort of water and ice refill station where guests can just refill themselves or leave a full pitcher at every table cause I noticed we weren't the only ones with that problem. Make a reservation. We did, and we were seated almost immediately. This is a smaller Fogo de Chão location--very busy, but well run. The market table was good, though smaller than other locations. There were plenty of gluten-free options available, which was appreciated. The other two members of our party enjoyed the full experience. Jay was our server and clearly had a lot of tables, often pulled in multiple directions--but she handled it beautifully. Water glasses stayed full, and the sides for the table remained hot throughout the meal. This is not an everyday dining spot--it's a special-occasion meal. Make sure you have a reservation. This location is still fairly new and walk in is not ideal. We set our reservation 24 hours in advance and we sat as soon as we showed up, no waiting for "table to get cleaned". The restaurant was pretty busy but with all that the manager was around constantly. A drink we ordered didn't show up with the drinks ordered and the manager came around very quickly, made sure we got that drink and continued to stick around to make sure there were no further concerns. Definitely felt taken care of, our server was very friendly as well. Food quality was exactly as expected, tasty!. Correct temp on all meats requested and we were even able to request a meat cut that had yet to come by our table. First time visiting Fogo, but not my first Brazilian steakhouse. LOCATION/ATMOSPHERE: Parking lot was pretty crowded, we came for brunch on a Sunday. Right off of Virginia Beach Blvd, you can't miss it on this busy street. The inside of this restaurant is spacious and really well kept. I wouldn't come super dressed up but you'd fit right in if you did. SERVICE: Excellent service, I must say. One of the best I've had in Hampton Roads. We made a reservation (recommend) for 11:30am brunch and I'm glad we did. Our server was attentive, the manager (I think) came to ask how we were doing, and the server's assistance were quick about removing dirty plates. FOOD: The food didn't disappoint. The brunch AYCE option we picked was $53/person. My family and I aren't over-eaters, so I don't think we'd come for dinner to pay $70+ per person. I just don't think that would be worth the amount we eat. The meat was excellent - I think the garlic steak was one of my favs. They have an excellent selection at the self-serve bar. Great service in an elegant setting with fresh, great, delicious food! Staff was exceptional!!! We ordered the Deluxe and Ultimate Churasco. The staff was busy, so we had to flag them down at times for drinks and the check, but otherwise, they were very accommodating! Husband and I had a great date night! It's definitely expensive but if you actually eat enough meats, you'll make your money back. The service was great, we had two servers going back and forth which was nice. The cold bar is great but they need to work on their meats... everything was overcooked and DRY. I was a little hesitant to going to Fago de Chao for my Birthday. After reading not such great reviews. I can say everything was FANTASTIC! I would say getting checked in was a little chaotic, but we came early sat at the bar and had a cocktail before our seats were ready. The hostess came over to get us once our seats were ready. My lovely bride is not a meat lover, so our fantastic server recommended that we opt for the Indulgent Churrasco for the Crab Cake and the Market Table. Excellent suggestion! The meat variety came often. Let's just say I did not leave hungry! I would say we had an early dinner reservation (5:45) and noticed more variety of meats later in the evening. The staff was outgoing and into making sure you have everything you need and want. The service is on point, meat servers are always around to ask if you would like the sirloin, filet, chicken, sausage, fried cheese w/honey and more.
