food was decent and service inside the restaurant was good. But the entire experience was ruined by the end and valet as it took me 45 minutes to get my car. After dinner I came out and I gave them my paper ticket and they said they would get it then. I waited for about 30 minutes but could hear other people getting upset about their valet and their car taking so long. So I went up to ask and said I had been waiting for 30 minutes and asked where my car was. The guy working said they probably already went to get it and he asked for my ticket but my keys were still there so no one had gone to get it. They didn't apologize or seem sorry about the long wait. And It then took them another 15 minutes to get my car, and I was late to meeting my friends at the next place we were going to, as they had gotten their cars within 10-15 minutes (they didn't receive a paper ticket and received a text notification instead, and didn't seem to have any issues) If you're planning on going I would just uber, and goodluck if you get a paper ticket for valet! read more

The service alone is 5 stars! The valet parking is great considering you'd be circling the block for hours if this wasn't complimentary to you. The host stand is welcoming and the entire atmosphere of the restaurant is romantic, dark tones, and beautiful decor. I was most impressed by the service. Our water cup was never halfway empty. We could take two sips and the wait staff was already by our side filling it up. The food was phenomenal! We started with the chicharon de ribeye which came on fresh made guac and it was to die for! The corn tortillas tasted homemade and probably one of the best I've had! All of the salsas to start we're tasty and I love that they describe each one and by spice level so it wouldn't be a surprise when our face started melting off. Jk! None were that unbearable but one of two packed a punch! I can't remember which drinks I had tried but I wasn't too impressed with the combo of ingredients but likely that's my fault since it had cucumber and I'm not too crazy about cucumbers. I would stick to a classic margarita on the rocks here. When a restaurant is THIS good, it holds the standards for a what a classic margarita should taste like. Okay let me just start this by saying the atmosphere was great. I was with a party of 10+ and we all had a good time. Lobster elote and Langosta (lobster) enchiladas were by far the best dishes of the night. My friend had the cowboy ribeye and that was also delicious. I didn't get pictures of the hamachi sashimi or the barbacoa de arrachera tacos but they were both phenomenal. Espresso martini is made with tequila and does not disappoint. Cuatro leches cake was the best I've had in Dallas. My only negative was the filet was dry but everything else made up for it. Absolutely fantastic! The wife and I enjoyed our experience at The Mexican. Upon arriving, valet was quick and easy and we were seated within moments of checking in. We started with drinks, me the El Rey, and the Mrs. had the Mexican Espresso Martini. The martini was creamy and flavorable, and the El Rey was an excellent balance of spice and flavor. I initially was going to try the hamachi raw bar starter, as I LOVE hamachi, but our server recommended the sea bass ceviche. It was out of this world! Super fresh and umami flavors throughout. I'd go back again and again just for the ceviche alone. For entrees we had the double cut pork chop, crispy pork belly (which is really an app), lobster elote, and manchego whipped potatoes. All were delicious, but our favorites were the elote, which didn't skimp on the lobster, and crispy pork belly. The space is well designed, and although it was busy, it wasn't too loud. We enjoyed an outing and dinner at The Mexican on Friday night. We.made reservations earlier in the week easily via phone for our larger party. Delightful restaurant is located in Dallas Design District beside Virgin Hotel. Upon entry, valet service and the entry are beautiful. The customer service once seated was also top notch. Sabrina was our server and she provided great recommendations for drinks and dinner. As a table we started off with chips and shareable salsa tray of 5 from mild to hot. We ordered guacamole, quest fundido and aguachile ribeye. Guacamole was delicious and queso funding was good though served on small tortilla to each person on table. Both were small portions. The aguachile ribeye was deliciously flavorful. If you like red meat wagyu, you'd like this. Our drinks were great. I had the La Niña Fresa and it was delicious. I like sweet cocktails. A fine dining experience in a modern upscale Mexican restaurant. We were celebrating our granddaughter's graduation from high school, so her parents took her and us to a place that they have always wanted to try. It certainly was a treat. The service from the valet, our server, and the entire staff was impeccable. My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful red snapper filet served with two different salsas. Not all it's cracked up to be. This place looks like a high end Mexican food place, but for the prices, it didn't deliver for me. If you want to impress a date, maybe the code works. If you are an honest foodie, you'll see through the facade. Guacamole and the salsas were great. Octopus chicharon ? No way. It dries it out and overcooks it. Stay away. I had tenderloin tacos. They cooked it like it was carne asada. Totally overcooked, dry and tasted like liver. 30 bucks for 3 street taco sized tacos. For $40 you can get 2 enchiladas a la carte. The Lobster was tasty but not worth it IMHO. Chocolate cake was dry and crumbly, and the ice cream cake was OK, but not amazing. The coffee however was on point, totally. This is a place I'd take a new date to show her I'm not cheap, and let her know im willing to spoil her, but if I'm married, we are hitting the restaurants that deliver what 80 bucks a head should bring. My wife and I had a great meal here. The place is huge, but you definitely want a reservation. The guacamole was excellent, as were the 5 different salsas they give you to start with. The ahi tuna and lobster enchiladas were phenomenal. When we were done with the meal, the service was a little slow, but overall it was great. If you're looking for an upscale place then this is a good one! It's basically located in design district and street parking is tough. No worries, there's valet! When you walk inside it is full of bougie vibes! For apps, the guac is pretty standard- tasty but nothing special. However the coliflor was amazing!! The cauliflower is nicely cooked and seasoned so well- I'm a big truffle person so having some truffle on the cauliflower made it a huge hit! I had hamachi sashimi as well and it was quite tasty with flavors including a little kick. The enchiladas that my friends ordered also looked great but I didn't get a chance to try. While the place and food was decent, I went there to celebrate a friend's birthday and first of all, they didn't offer any complimentary birthday dessert. Second of all, for them to allow us to eat a cake that we brought was a $25 fee! Came here a few weeks ago for a business dinner with a group of about 15 people. We sat in the bar in front of the tequila wall. The view, decor & ambiance were nice but the bar was a little loud for all of us to have conversation - you're limited to people sitting very close to you. Service was helpful to point out vegan items or where vegan substitutions could be made. The salsa sampler was really good - different flavors than I'd had anywhere else. Guac was good as well but didn't blow my socks off like the salsa. I had the pequena belleza cocktail which was good but I wished I'd tried one of their margaritas. My vegan entree was a mushroom enchilada with some kind of red sauce on top. It was just so-so for me and I didn't finish all of it (it was a large portion as well though). Everyone else at the table raved about their food. Before coming I made sure to look at the menu but you can't help but notice the dress code. I was a little worried so made sure to dress in more business attire than I probably would have had there not been a dress code. That said, I'm not so sure it's enforced in the bar based on what I saw. Maybe just the dressing room? She knocked over a water jug, messed up our orders, refused to show any remorse or sympathy for getting orders wrong, would not make eye contact with anyone. Sorry was not in her vocabulary. Visited The Mexican on NYE with a group of friends for a late dinner/drinks. We got a private room since there was 10 of us and had an excellent server assigned to us. She was attentive, continued to come back and check on us even though we were a bit secluded from her other tables, and helpful. Given we came on NYE, they gave us all sparklers, champagne, and other goodies for the countdown which added to the experience. The food was yummy, I enjoyed everything I tried including the appetizer tostaditos, guac, vegan enchiladas, and desserts. It had been about 8 months since I ate at the Mexican. It was great to be back. We had the sea bass ceviche for an appetizer which I think is one of the best items on the menu. For dinner I had the trio enchilada option which wasn't on the menu before. They were amazing! The lobster is definitely my favorite, then the crab and then the shrimp.
