I wasn't expecting good Mexican food in Temecula, but wow! Their Sunday brunch is amazing! It was about $28 per person but there was a large selection. There was a taco bar, crepe bar, and omelette bar in addition to a delicious spread of chilaquiles, chile verde, enchiladas, huevos rancheros, pozole, menudo, etc. They had bottomless mimosas too for an additional charge. Don't sleep on the Mexico Cafe! read more

We met some friends today who were visiting from out of town and wanted to find a place that was new to us and would not kick us out so we could spend some extra time with them. The Mexico Cafe was the perfect place. We chose to sit outside the bar on the patio so we would not be a bother. It worked out great. Loren provided great service. I had the Chicken Mole Enchiladas which were prepared homemade and tasted perfect. My wife and the others enjoyed tacos and tostadas they the raved about. Thank you for providing a comfortable place for us to eat, drink and visit. We will certainly be back for more !! read more

My husband and I ate here recently for a early dinner before it grew crowded and found it very relaxing and beautiful interior . Upon arriving hostess greeted and seated us in a nice spacious booth and we had a very friendly waitress and excellent service . Our drinks we ordered were delicious and colorful and our food was excellently prepared with good portions , the chips were hot and salsa delicious and we highly recommend if you like well prepared Mexican food , will be back soon since they have a wonderful brunch on Sunday's to try and many more dishes to taste ! read more

I discovered this restaurant by accident, needing to pull over to check my GPS for a different food place and deciding well I am here... I might as well give it a try. Thank you, Universe! The place is HUGE and absolutely beautifully decorated for the holiday season. Pros: They seat you quickly. Extensive menu Professional friendly service Comfortable Seating Food is delicious. I had the Steak Fajitas! Plenty of grilled tender pieces of steak that is so tender I used my fork to cut it. I loved the seasoning they used. It was so delicious I used one of the two freshly made tortillas to sop of what I could (as if it was bread - I am Italian... I lick my fingers as well when the meal is delicious). The vegetables served with the Fajitas are tender and grilled. Cooked to perfection! The meal is served with rice and beans. I am not a fan of beans because they do something not so pleasant (for others) to my body... but I did venture for a bite and they were delicious as well. They made sure my basket of chips was always full and hot! They sprinkle garlic on the chips. A delicious surprise. I could have easily made chips and salsa a meal... I kept snacking on them. The salsa... the one they serve is the most mild. LOL. I asked as tears were rolling down my face and my sinus were being cleared. If you love HOT salsa their mild may be a perfect fit for you. The woman's bathroom is large and clean. I love the blue tile sinks and the blue tile accents on the floor. A clean large bathroom is very important especially due to the hotness of their salsa! Plenty of free parking. Plenty of seating. It would be a gorgeous venue for weddings and parties... if you decided to have your party there because of my review, will you invite me? Cons: Only one napkin given. I asked for another but the waiter never brought me more. With such delicious amazing food, perhaps offering a hot wet towel to your guests so that we can clean our fingers. I tend to eat with both the fork and my fingers. Side notes: I found it very impressive that when they got busy... what looked like either managers and or owners came to the floor to help out. Water glasses were being filled and baskets of chips brought. Watching the staff move quickly and making sure each customer was being taken care of with such precision was a delight. Nothing was missed except for my extra napkin. Thank you! read more

I finally found our spot! We stumbled across this rest awhile looking for catering for a party. The price of the taco bar fit our budget so we came to pay a deposit and fell in love with the atmosphere of the restaurant. The food was over the top amazing and sent us straight into the planning of our next event in a month. We will be loyal to the restaurant and caterers! read more

Shrimp tacos had only two small shrimps. They were bombarded stacked with shredded lettuce to make them look full. We also ordered the Enchiladas De Carne the meat was so dry no flavor at all. It taste like dry meat out of a can yulk The service was HORRIBLE considering it was Cinco De Mayo the place was pretty empty, that should have been our first clue. Entertainment was three gentlemen musicians, we felt badly for them because the restaurant was empty. Our waitress was horrible we constantly had to ask for what is normal brought to the table like water, chips n salsa and when requested specifics on our orders, they were not done. Our waitress seemed like she kept rushing us to leave, it became so annoying considering we were given horrible food. Let me just say nothing Mexican about this place. My wife and I came in here yesterday for lunch and let me just start by saying the place is huge! It has a very warm feeling from the moment you walk in and the Christmas decorations are absolutely beautiful! The staff was very awesome and attentive and welcoming. My wife had the lobster enchiladas and I had a chile verde chimichanga. Both were excellent! We can learn alot about a Mexican food establishment by the salsa when it comes out and this place did not disappoint. Our server recommended the Italian Margarita and it was soooo freakin good! Normally 2 margaritas dont do anything for me in the buzz department but 2 of those Italian ones had me feeling really good! Lol. Disappointed again!!! Come in on Cinco de Mayo. They want us to spend $60 on drinks but won't provide chips and salsa unless we pay an additional $34.99 per person on Buffett. Amazing!! The first time we came to this place was when we first moved to Temecula. Beto our server welcomed us with amazing service, since then we loved this place!!! Mediocre at best. Chips were good, salsa tasted like it was out of a Pace jar. Rice and beans were bland and Chili Rellano also had zero flavor. If you want a restaurant that has a big parking lot and can accompany larger sized parties and don't care about taste then by all means. You're better off spending your money at La Cocina. read more

Food was ok we can close to close so the food wasn't as fresh and tasted stale. Staff were friendly. We did the Sunday brunch, was a really pricey even for a buffet. Kid didn't even finish their plate so it wasn't really worth it to take kids to. read more

Wife and I had dinner: ordered 2 tacos al pastor with rice and beans; meat was dry, overcooked and flavorless - rice was dry and beans were re-fried well beyond what they should have. Wife ordered a chile relleno; flavorless. The only thing good was the salsa and chips; chips were warm and salsa was really good. Guacamole was not even close to fresh; if it wasn't, we should not have tasted all the preservatives as if it came from pre-packaged guacamole they sell at stores. If I wanted bad Mexican food, I would have gone to a rundown taco shop; feel the food was not deserving to be put on a plate. We did tell the waitress we were not happy with the dishes, she shrugged her shoulders and walked away. Have not tried their Sunday Brunch - will report back when we do. read more

We used Tails & Tacos that is the catering part of this establishment. First, David's communication time was quick and responsive. He was flexible and accommodating to head count and food choices. We ordered the drop off taco bar and added enchiladas. He arrived right on time. The presentation and all supplies were superb! Myself and all guests commented how delicious everything was. We were so very happy we went with Tails & Tacos! An added bonus.... They host charity events and donate to dog shelters. Melted my heart! Strongly recommend this venue. read more

We've been here multiple times. Tonight was our daughters 18th birthday. Pedro our server made our night amazing. He managed our group of 13 perfectly! Our first time and was uhgky anticipated. Loved everything from the entrance to the food to the ambiance the place is huge had lots of seating and now I know they offer brunch! Couldn't decide what to get but was extremely happy with my sizzling skirt steak fajitas. I got a "medium" midori margarita and i don't drink much but that wasn't a medium haha but great value ad quality for everything! We had Jeanette as our server who was fantastic and accommodating. Not going to lie they are on the pricier side but given the location of tourists it is understandable. But the good thing is it tastes just like local Mexican drive thrus like back in SD. There are no single menu items like you can't order just one taco or one tamale by itself without getting a whole platter of other things. The server was friendly and didn't rush us even past 10pm.

The carne asada was just okay, it was cut into thicker piece, which is not my preference. It was also topped with guacamole, which was not the best I've had. The carnitas however were magnificent topped with pickled onions, cilantro, and salsa. The rice was not traditional Mexican rice and did have a bit of a crunch to it rather than a toast before cooking. The beans were just plain pinto beans, not refried beans, but they were good. While this place, is not extremely traditional, it is a great spot in Old Town Temecula with fairly good food. I'm looking forward to coming back again.

When I told her through Yelp, she said she hadn't closed reservations in time and had been too busy the day before to check the Yelp reservations. Respectfully, that's not the customer's problem!!!! MY issue is the false advertising. This was promoted as a COPA MUNDIAL watch party, yet there was no reasonable way for us to actually watch the game from our table. Had I known that beforehand, I would have chosen one of the many other venues available. By the time we arrived and the game had already started, my options were extremely limited. PLEASE If you're planning to come here for a watch party, don't. this restaurant is not equipped for that. Save yourself the disappointment and watch the game somewhere else. **Review of Mexico Cafe** I recently dined at Mexico Cafe, and unfortunately, the experience left much to be desired. I ordered the shrimp enchiladas, which were overwhelmed by an excessive amount of cheese--far too much for a balanced dish. The beans were dry, and the rice lacked any noticeable flavor. The drinks were equally disappointing. I had a Gold Cadillac margarita that was sour and overly strong, while my husband's pomegranate margarita tasted like pure sugary syrup with an overwhelming strength of alcohol. Neither drink was enjoyable. The decor of the restaurant was confusing at best. While they have embraced a Christmas theme, it lacks cohesion and feels more like an assortment of unrelated decorations. There were several Christmas trees scattered around, but the overall atmosphere felt underwhelming. The space in the restaurant also seemed poorly utilized, with large open areas that could have been better arranged. The seating was outdated and uncomfortable, which detracted from the overall experience. On the positive side, the service was good. The staff was friendly and attentive, but unfortunately, the quality of the food and ambiance overshadowed their efforts. Just had an early dinner here yesterday. The building is beautiful and very spacious, the decor is minimalistic and clean which looks nice but it might be a little too plain? Not festive enough for a Mexican restaurant? The girls at the hostess desk were super friendly, greeted us right away. We opted to sit in the bar. Everything was really clean, we were greeted by multiple staff members as soon as we walked in the bar area, just my personal opinion but the decor wasn't very festive, super plain. We had house Margaritas which were amazing! My mom had a chicken quesadilla she said was great, my son had the carne asada fries which he said we're delicious, I had 2 tacos a la carte which we're really good, my only problem was that I had ordered fish but got chicken. They were still tasty though! The servers were super attentive throughout the whole meal and we will definitely be back! Diners please remember this restaurant just opened, the staff is young and restaurants are having problems even finding people who are willing to work! The food on the buffet is delicious. A lot of time, effort, and care have gone into decoration this place for Halloween and it is fantastic. We were seated in the dining room next to the buffet and the sun was shining in from the windows above. You could see alot of air pollution in the light, I even caught it when filming their animated Chuckie doll. Looking up to the ceiling you could see the HVAc intakes were dirty and I assume the filters need to be changed. I was not comfortable knowing I was breathing this in. Every thing else I Loved! The Food, the decor, and the service! Lacie was so warm and welcoming and took care of our every need! I hope the take care of the indoor air pollution issue! Where do I start? What happened to this once beautiful restaurant. If you are looking for a haunted house to eat then you are in the right place. However, if you are a business and put on your counter now almost hidden "stand for the flag kneel for the cross" and put God Bless this cafe and all who work here on your receipt, but put demons and horror movie figures in your place of business that tells the community which god you serve. My daughter is 10 years old and she was so scared we should have walked out. We ate and got out of there. Shame on this restaurant for not making it family friendly. The food is amazing, use to be one our favorite places to eat. But now, we will never eat here again due to the demonic decor. May God have mercy on your soul. I just had their Sunday buffet brunch for the 2nd time and I am very happy again! They even had some new items on the menu. I eat at Mexican restaurants probably more than any other food, but i have never had costillas before. They are pork ribs and literally melted off the bone. They were absolutely delicious and I even went back for seconds!!. Their birria soup has big chunks of tender beef and adding oregano, red pepper, and lime, made this scrumptious...next time i will add some white onions from their taco bar to it also! I also had a shredded beef taco with cheddar cheese and guacamole from the taco bar. My wife had a custom ordered omelet from the omelet bar. Everything was delicious as always, and completed with trip to the desert and fruit bar. read more

I've been here a few times now, and it's officially a go-to spot. This round, I went with the carne asada--packed with flavor and cooked perfectly. Brought my 14-year-old (who's nearly 6 feet tall and always hungry), and he crushed the fajitas. No surprise--they were amazing. Service was quick, friendly, and on point with the refills. We had such a wonderful experience at The Mexico Cafe! We were seated out on the patio, which had a great atmosphere and made our meal even more enjoyable. Our server, Lauren, was absolutely fantastic--friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed without ever feeling rushed. The food was outstanding fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The portions were generous, and every bite was packed with authentic taste. I visited The Mexico Café last Sunday for brunch and would rate it an 8.5 out of 10. The décor was intense--especially with the Halloween theme--and while I'm not a big fan of Halloween, I have to give them credit for the effort. The ambience and overall setup felt very welcoming, and the service was excellent. The food and desserts were good, with an impressive selection of traditional Mexican dishes. It's only our "millionth" time visiting Disneyland... uh I mean the Mexico Cafe' in T town. Never disappoints! Many family birthday requests to celebrate here. Food is authentic, and the drinks, ambiance & service is always top notch. Love their support for Law enforcement, animals, locals, visitors & America. The Mexico cafe feels like our second home. Food was good but I was mostly impressed with our server. Pierce was really on it. He was always there when we needed anything and got us our food quick. I don't think I even had to ask for a refill because he was always coming by with more water. The only issue I had was how loud it was. I came out because I've gone to the location in San Bernardino and it's definitely a different atmosphere. Food is great and tastes authentic. Enchiladas, Chili Rellenos and chicken taquitos are really good. Salsa and chips are awesome. Indoor decorations is beautiful and the restaurant is wide open and feels relaxing. They also have outdoor patio seating when the weather is good. In the evening they have heaters and they have a nice fire to sit next to and enjoy. Some of the cocktails as pricey, perhaps Happy Hour is a good time to go to save on the cocktails. I hesitate to write this review because you may just take our seat at the bar! If you are looking for your "Cheers" this is our go-to neighborhood bar. We know the staff intimately and they always take such good care of us. Our choice beverages are the tequlia flight and house margarita. From outside we saw a heck tone of cars and were delighted to hear that there was no wait. They put us in a quieter place in the restaurant. The drinks were incredible. The Machaca Breakfast Burrito is a solid 4.9/5, would definitely order again after I try some of the others because this place is definitely going on the short list of go-to spots. Yes, there are other spots around town, but I'm just happy to have great Mexican food close to home without driving into Temecula, San Diego, or LA. I've visited a few times before writing this, and the menu has a solid variety. It's primarily Mexican dishes with a few American options mixed in. Their menudo has become one of my favorites, the large bowl is big enough to share and always hits the spot. The birria tacos are well‑seasoned and flavorful, and breakfast here is another win. The omelettes and chilaquiles were both delicious. I will be honest, the La Bestia Mex burrito was a big disappointment... this is so far the only thing that I was so disappointed in. It was a salad wrapped in a burrito, we paid the extra for carne asada and we couldn't find the meat. It was missing the meat..... not worth the price. I'll still them 5 stars overall! They also have a full bar and plenty of seating indoors and outdoors. The patio is nicely spaced and perfect for warm summer evenings. Service has been consistently great. Miguel and Paulina have taken excellent care of us every time. If you're looking for authentic Mexican food without the long drive, this place is definitely worth checking out.

We sat and took probably closer to 10 minutes before we did not receive any water, chips or even acknowledgment so we got up and decided to walk away. Being a Hispanic descent, trust me, I can tell authentic Mexican food, from the so-called other Mexican food just step up from Taco Bell and Del taco. I've always said, do you wanna know good authentic Mexican food,?..then look at the customers. If you see old first generation Hispanics eating there...then you it's real Mexican food! On Saturday we wandered into TCI for dinner and started with the heirloom tomato and burrata with crostini. It was so fresh and delicious that I briefly considered writing the tomatoes a thank-you note. Next came the Harvest Valley Salad, which somehow managed to make me genuinely excited about lettuce--an achievement that deserves recognition from the culinary Olympics. For our entrée we ordered the Wagyu Steak Frites with chimichurri. The steak was cooked so perfectly it should probably be framed instead of sliced. Every bite was fantastic. We finished with the ube panna cotta, which was elegant, silky, and the kind of dessert that makes you promise you'll "just have one bite" before accidentally eating half of it. Nathan took wonderful care of us all evening. He was warm, friendly, attentive, and struck that perfect balance between making us feel welcome and giving us time to enjoy the gorgeous patio. Watching the sunset with live music in the background and that spectacular view? It was one of those evenings that quietly reminds you why people go out to eat in the first place. Apparently we enjoyed ourselves so much that we came back the very just two days for lunch. (Scientific research requires repeat testing.) We started with the hummus, which arrived looking like it belonged in an art gallery. Fortunately, it tasted every bit as good as it looked. Then came the chile relleno, which was absolutely outstanding. If this dish ever goes missing, I'd recommend checking my refrigerator first. Faith was wonderfully friendly and outgoing, and our food expeditor, David, was so genuinely warm and personable that by the time he left the table, it felt like we'd known him for years. Restaurants can teach hospitality, but that kind of kindness is simply who some people are. My only tiny suggestion: please turn on the patio misters during these triple-digit California afternoons. The food was keeping us warm emotionally; the weather was handling the rest. And on the way out we let Christine know the carpets at the entrances needed a vacuum. Fantastic food, exceptional service, beautiful views, and an atmosphere that keeps drawing us back. Cork Fire Kitchen has once again reminded us why it's one of our favorite places to dine.
