I always stop by The Moose Cafe for ice cream ( They have great soft serve and regular ice cream too!) I have eaten lunch there on multiple occasions and I have to say that I was more than pleased each time! I have had the grilled cheese before and it is one of my favorites! I like this cafe, but I don't love it. The food is decent and the service is usually pretty good. I've been disappointed about 30% of the time with either the quality of the food or the service from staff. The food is a little pricey for what it is, but the prices are clearly advertised, so I can't hold that against them. This place has a great atmosphere and it's a great little place to meet someone for coffee, ice cream, or food. The sandwiches are deli style, pretty basic, served with chips and a pickle. There is hardly ever a wait. Most of the staff are very friendly. We go at least once a week. It's a very relaxed community cafe.

Okay.. I love this place.. the coffee is amazing.. way better than Dunkin.. sometimes even coastal roasters. But this morning I got breakfast.. and boy am I disappointed. Their eggs are fake.. completely fake.. you can tell.. it tastes like dunkin on this one.. No fresh cracked eggs here. Was real greesy too. Other than that.. I've always had a good experience. I used to regularly visit Moose Cafe, they have good bagels. However, I will no longer visit this establishment due to the fact that every time I go I get a different price. Mind you my order has never changed and I ALWAYS get the same thing. I don't think it the owner, it's the teenagers you have running the place that seems to not know their but from their head. This does not only happen to me but I've asked friends and they say the same thing. Finally one day my friends and I asked them about why the final prices keep changing every day they ignored us. When we posted on their Facebook asking why this kept happening they deleted the post. I finally had my last straw when they couldn't get my order correct and had missing items. I'll be taking my business to Pink Bean Coffee, they have better coffee and items and they seem to price me the same every time I go. Can't say enough good stuff about this place. So many choices for Froyo flavors. All are good and cheap. We got a small and a BLT sandwich for $8.00. The girls that work there are young but super helpful and nice. I told my girl I was looking for something peanut butter and chocolaty and she recommended the peanut butter truffle with the vanilla base. The girl behind the counter was rude to start. She was in a rush to get out of work and I was clearly inconveniencing her by stopping in for desserts to bring to a family party. I asked how the brownies are she said "good" so I bought 7 of them. Each of them Were dry and inedible. 10 pre packed individual ice cream sandwiches all freezer burnt, also inedible. A few other assorted dessert in which were all not good. I understand it is the end of the day and every one is itching to get out of work but isn't it about my satisfaction when it comes to your establishment? Quality over quantity. Hope they get it right eventually. I want honesty instead of people being greedy to make a dime. I recently visited The Moose Cafe with my friends. We ordered some ice cream, and a milkshake. (The girls taking care of us were so skinny!) The service was friendly and pretty quick. Unfortunately when we sat down at our table, the only chair available was a baby seat and I had to sit in it. The music selection was exquisite, they played amazing throwbacks! A nice spot to go for ice cream - especially when you dont know what you want. They have like 200 flavors (not exaggerating!)! They have good homemade donuts too! Not too sure about the sandwiches, but my kid loves the cookies. Every flavor is whipped up on order and softserve. My family goes there all the time in the summer months. read more

Second time this has happened to us and it's SOOOO frustrating. Forgot the cafe has a 4 item limit in drive through. We're a family of 6. Thought we would go down for a little treat and everyone was in their PJs. Not a single person in line inside and I get to the fifth item and I'm politely told we can't be served at the drive thru. BUT we could come inside if we wanted too. So frustrated I was going to just let them miss out on our $50 order. One of the kids had the brainstorm to go back through and get 4 items and then go back through to get the last two. What I'm mad about is the young lady didn't bother to ask us how many more items we were going to order the first time through. Now please picture this, NOT A SOUL INSIDE ORDERING. Four young ladies standing around chit chatting instead of using their judgment and helping us out. I get that there's a policy. And if there was a line waiting to be served inside I would have understood but to not use a little common sense and be helpful??? Really? The girl decides that the policy was more important. That's bad busineas. If I were the owner and heard about this situation I would immediately do some remedial staff training in the basics of customer service. But no adults are around any evenings we go there so I guess they think their staff can make adult like business decisions on their behalf. Shame nice little place but I'd be more willing to drive all the way into Middletown, RI and go to the Frosty Freeze than have to deal with numskulls. read more

It is a hit or miss. There are two wonderful employees that I wish I knew both of their names (One is Sarah I believe) the others aren't so friendly. The coffee is a hit or miss, mostly a miss. The ice cream is amazing and I love the soft serve. The wraps and sandwiches are terrible.. I got a BLT with 2 strips of bacon on one half of a sandwich that only the top slice of bread was actually cut and one HUGE slice of tomato on the other half with a leaf of lettuce. The wrap wasn't even wrapped, it was basically folded over and when cut it opened up and was impossible to eat. I still love the ice cream though so I will go once and awhile. read more

I used to go to the moose cafe each morning after bringing my husband to work to get their iced chai tea. They would give my dog a treat when I went through the drive thru. I would chill with my dog and read a magazine until I had to go to work myself. I care for an elderly woman but its an hour and a half after I bring my husband to work. We live an hour away in hope valley so I can't go home. There was never a problem until today when the tall blonde girl didn't like that I was with my dog in the car in their parking lot even as a paying customer. She gave me attitude and scolded me for having my dog in the car for an hour. Now I love animals, and I could see a problem if I left her by herself, but I was confortably sitting with the windows down with her the entire time exceot for when I went in to grab a tea and use the bathroom. Apparently the waitstaff there feels the need put their noses in other peoples business and pass judgment on a girl and her dog just trying to get through another work week. I don't like being spoken to like im a criminal by the career go getters at the local ice cream/ coffee shop. And maybe put prices on the drive thru and take home menus so customers can know if they're being charged correctly. Good job chasing away my business completely. read more
