The customer service was horrible. I had ordered a salad with cajun blackened chicken (first of all i asked for dressing on the side). It came with the dressing on it drenched and my chicken was completely burnt to crisps. I let my server know about my dressing and she replied with "Oh, i didnt hear you... can you not eat it like that?" and when i asked is my chicken supposed to look this black? She replied with "Didnt you ask for blackened chicken.. its supposed to look like that." NO. I know what blackened chicken looks/tastes like. It was extremely rude and I will not be returning to The moose ever again. read more

1/23/2010...We'd been in Vancouver for about 2 weeks and I was beginning to lose hope that I would find a decent little burger bar until I walked into the Loose Moose. It happened to be a Canucks game night and I saw the chalkboard outside that said "Burger and Beer Special $8.99". We were surprised (unfamiliar with these type of food specials here) and just HAD to go inside to see if they had made a mistake. Sure enough, it was the correct price. Holly was a GREAT server and made it fun to be there. We were given the option of Chicken instead of Burger so I thought we'd try one each. 2 Pints and Beef and Chicken...not bad for just under $20. Infact, the chicken breast was thick and juicy - DELICIOUS. The burger was GOOD too! (I just had to sneak a bite) For a local bar/pub it's small, but the people are nice and the service and food are GOOD. read more

Wings are pretty small, and I would say over done. This added to their dryness. Our wings also took 45min during a midweek lunch when the place was pretty empty. Not sure I'd head back. Staff was pleasant though. read more

I went here twice in the last week, and it was great both times! As other reviewers mentioned, all menu items are $5.95. Drinks are ~$5-6, which is pretty good too. I had the veggie burger (delicious) and the bruschetta wrap (also very good!). Highly recommend the fries, which are perfectly seasoned. My boyfriend got a huge back of ribs for the $5.95 price and could barely finish half of it! Recommend this place for a casual night out, or for dinner before heading out downtown. read more

This is the place to go for Great French Fries....they are real cut potatoes and the best part is they come already seasoned with salt and pepper on them....and it's just the right amount of salt and pepper that they add to the fries that make them taste so good. However be aware that they may not always come that way....I've been there three times now and once out of that three times the fries just weren't the same...very disappointing. They may have had a new guy back in the kitchen I don't know. But never-the-less I would say it deserves a shot! read more

Another one of Vancouver's cheap eats. Everything is $5.95. It's not the best food, however, it's cheaper than fast food. A small bar that borders between being a hole in the wall and a cool hang out all in good fun. I come here if I am early enough before a club show. Customer service has always been hit and miss depending on how busy it is, however, I am in it for the food. read more

Went there on Monday for the $5.95 full rack of ribs, yes that price is correct. There are sometimes when first class is fantastic, and there are times when no-class is what you need, this is the latter done excellent. Went to the Moose for the 5.95 steak special. Our server was friendly and attentive, but something about this place gives me bad vibes. Maybe it was the guy behind the bar.. I'm not sure. Anyways, enough of my hippy senses. Our steak specail was great. You really can't complain for 5.95 you get a steak, 4 shrimp, and a side of salad ( I sure as hell wasn't expecting a 5 course meal setup). I didn't end up with a tummy ache so it was good enough for me! The drinks are alright, not cheap so it's sub par for me. If I'm in the area on a Sunday again, I'll be there for the steak n shrimp again. Also, the washroom is GROSS. I felt like I was going to catch something by touching anything. LOL. read more

Cheap menu, everything's $5.95 plus they have great daily food specials that are worth checking out. Last time I was here I had wings that were really damn good. I came to watch the Canucks game and was pleasantly surprised to see that it wasn't packed. I had no trouble finding a seat, but it was a Monday. For what one might call a "sports bar", it always feels relaxed and not a douchey, hootin and hollerin kind of joint. There is a heavy metal friendly vibe too. Ok Monday night after a concert and we were walking around in the slushy rain looking for somewhere to eat and ended up upon the Moose. Ok the music was SUPER LOUD but the food was amazing for 5.95!! This bar is a cute little joint just of Granville. They have good food at decent prices as well as good bartenders.If you go here chances are you will run into someone you know as this place is very laid back.With being in the granville entertainment district this place does get pretty rowdy on weekend nights but all in all a good time read more

I met with friends at the Moose after work this evening. The place was busy and we sat at the bar and ordered nibbles and beers. The bartender was nice. Midway through the nibbles, we saw a cockroach running on the bar around our food. We pointed it out to the bartender who quickly killed it with a napkin. We finished our beers and got the bill and another cockroach ran across the bar. On my way to bathroom I noticed that the place was very dirty. In one stall, the toilet seat was hanging off the toilet by one screw. The door did not lock properly. The bathroom was dirty. The waitress looked as miserable as the place. We were charged for our unfinished food which we quickly returned when we saw the cockroach. When I got home I checked my jacket and knapsack thoroughly for cockroaches. I will never return to this dump again. read more

At The Moose tonight and ran into difficulties paying the bill. The service was great and have had really good food as well. Sadly they have opted to not accept Interac for payment and their private cash machine wasn't working for me or my party. Luckily I was able to pay with a credit card but would prefer to pay debit when we can. Food for thought, how expensive is Interac when it comes to the convenience of your customers. read more

I've always been a huge fan of the Jambalaya. It's on the smaller side but it was $5.95 for the longest time. I decided to grab one for takeout tonight. It turns out they've changed the prices to $8.95 and I was also charged a dollar for a takeout fee. So, with tax, it was about $10.50 and I left a small tip, making it $12. It's gone from being very reasonable to now blatantly overpriced. read more

WARNING: they will add an 18% gratuity to groups over 8 and then NOT notify the customer it has been added. I ate here for the LAST time earlier this year with a group of friends. I thought my bill was high, but tipped 20% and went on my way. I was then notified by my friends that an 18% tip had been added to my bill - the server did not tell me and let me tip her an additional 20%!!! If this place had exceptional service, drinks and food - I would not have been upset. But honestly the service is lack luster, food gross and drinks are over priced. Better off hitting up McDonalds for a burger and BC liquor for a 6 pack - and have change to spare. Went in with 2 acquaintances I did not know well. They were trying to get 3 beers for $ 20.00 -NOT TOO HARD/ I guess the bartender thought they were a pain. I ordered the 2nd round and paid with VISA. All terminals for VISA worldwide are different in where you press for a TIP. (I know I travel extensively) When I asked the bartender for help he belittled and ridiculed me like I was an idiot not to know which button to press. NICE TOUCH. Please do yourself a favour and just stay away. At $5.95 per menu item and $4 shots, my friends and I really weren't expecting much of anything at all. Just thought we would check this place out and have a head start on drinks for the night. OMG I was wrong. This place has gone even beneath my lowest standards. I'd rather have eaten at mcdonald's. Seriously thought that even if the flavour profile was wrong, I might still be willing to try it. I expected like.. jarred sauce that was close but not really there.. if you know what I mean. Our waitress Madeline said she would let us know of something we ordered would suck. I asked her how the jambalaya was and she enthusiastically said it was really good. Dont listen to the servers. They really dont know anything or they arent telling the truth. It was.. disgusting to say the least. Come here if you want tomato sauce on rice to pass for your "jambalaya", dry burgers or reheated bbq ribs with gummy mashed potatoes. Realistically out of the things we ordered, the ketchup and mayo that came w the fries were the best things we got. And who really wants to pay $6 for that? Drinks sucked too. The 4 of us ordered the same thing amongst ourselves and they all tasted different.. even though we ordered THE SAME drink. Servers and bartenders dont know what they're doing. The food isn't even good enough for a dog. I saw some homeless people walk by and had a moment where I wondered if they would appreciate having my dinner for me or not. Sooo my friends and I went to the moose after a lovely night at the vag aka fuse nite. After waiting a bit in which we expected, we took our seat. Excited to have a real drink, rather then drinking in the vag's bathroom, me and my friends 'ordered'. When asking for ids, my friend terry was attacked at the waitress refusing to give him a drink saying he didn't have proper id... After showing her the rest of his 6 other ids she left the table in a fluster without taking the rest of the orders. Confused and angered that we were, she came back and told us she still wasn't going to serve him, which was obvious after the kuffel. She left the table and came back again still angry and raging, we decided to cancel the orders that did come thru.. Very rude service from the waitress, which was completely unnecessary. After finding a new place to drink and eat we were dumb founded by why first she wouldn't serve our friend with his valid ID and second why she raged at us..?! My friend brought me here a while back...the music (bit loud), food, and service was great! Since then I have been here multiple times, each time bringing new friends and they enjoy it very much. One thing I can say is for those wing lovers out there, do not order them here. They are small, have no meat on them and the quality of the sauces are not good. Also, the bathrooms are small, smelly and the doors are not secure nicely. Overall, if you can handle the bathrooms this place is great for those on a budget! read more

Good - you know I haven't been here in years and so before the illfated Comedy Mix show I met a girlfriend here for a couple Strongbows. Came here on a Tuesday evening with my boyfriend to try their 25cent wings special. We had a dozen hot and a dozen hot-a-q. They were ok. Not the best wings but for 25cents each, I am not going to complain. We also had the BBQ burger and fries and it was really good! Their entire menu is $5.95 and is a pretty good deal. They have a lot to choose from too! the interior has a heavy metal influence and there's a music jukebox you can choose music from. I would definitely come back and give their other menu items a try. read more

This place is so terrible that I had to make a yelp account and warn others about it. Just awful. To begin, my friend and I went to get some food after work but came out disappointed. We waited 20-25 minutes for a simple order of 4 sliders and chicken fingers w/ fries. This would be understandable if the place was full; however, it was almost empty. Even the people beside us who came in 10 minutes after us got their food first. When the food finally came it looked decent, but closer examination you can tell the fries were frozen from the start. The only warm thing on our plates were the chicken fingers. The back of my phone was even warmer than the fries and that's not even the worst part. When you first pick up the $1.00 "special deal" sliders, the buns are ridiculously cold. It almost seems like it just came out of the fridge and straight onto the patty. I also found it odd when I asked the person across from us if his sliders were cold and he replied "no, they were warm. That's odd". Yeah, odd. This shows their poor quality in customer service and they probably just want to lure you in for the price to serve cheap food. Now maybe they just made a mistake by not warming the sliders but that's unacceptable. I've been eating at the warehouse for years and I never experience a bad bite, not once. Eating instant noodles would be better than this place and would cost only 35 cents. Overall I would not recommend this place. Total price came @ $15 for a cold meal that I could have came to any place and gotten better. Even Tim Hortons up the street would suffice than this. read more
