Absolutely delicious homemade ice cream with great big ol' portions. Especially great in the summer. This most recent visit I had 2 scoops on a waffle cone: coffee and the "Triple Chocolate Ecstasy" (chocolate ice cream, fudge, chocolate chips). The coffee was great and the TCE a rich, chocolate-lover's dream. The ice cream melted all over my hand and I didn't care one bit, it was so good! The staff was affable and service speedy. read more

This place is ridiculously good. We just moved up here and were looking for a spot like this for the occasional treat. We were blown away by how wonderful this place is. The sizes are generous, so order carefully. The tadpole seems like an entire pint of ice cream on a cone. It's delicious though so not a complaint! We will be back! read more

The best ice cream! From MA, but every time we are at the lake we stop in - usually both nights we are here! The ice cream is homemade, and amazing. Flavors are strong and really loaded with the fillings. Our personal favorites are: caramel caribou, peppermint stick, and peanut butter itiderod. My parents, wife, and son went here last night after a nice dinner on the grill. There was plenty of parking and it is a great location they had plenty of seats both inside and out. The menu is extensive and takes some time to read but each flavor has a good description of what it is and some of there flavor are a little out there. My parents split some bear claw, my wife also had it, my son had a strawberry, and I had a Mississippi mud. All were well received. I tried my sons strawberry ice cream and I have to say it was delicious. It is a sign of the quality of an ice cream place when they can take a staple flavor like strawberry and absolutely knock it out of the park like they did. We can't wait to go back next year on vacation, it is good they are so far away or we would be there all the time. read more

This is the second time we had past Mosquito and decided to stop and give it a try. I was overwhelmed with the variety decide on the Bear Claw= Dk. chocolate ice cream with chocolate covered cashews and caramel swirls. YUMMY! We will return there are a few other flavors I am interested in trying. read more

The Mosquito has a great selection of flavors and everything I tried was very good. Portions are large and there are quite a few sizes. They have a variety of cones, including waffle cones. I had a mixture of Coconut and Salted Mocha Carmela. Both were creamy and tasty. I'm picky about Coconut and this one was yummy-creamy with flakes of coconut. The Carmela tasted delicious, but had some white candy chunks that didn't do much for the texture. All in all, a very good ice cream experience. Not made here, by the way. read more

Stopped there today to buy some ice cream. Ice cream is good, but not worth $6.75 a pint!!! Yes, a pint! They don't sell a quart. Highway robbery! Might be good for a quick stop ice cream cone but the prices are WAY out of hand. I'll go back to the Dugout or the yogurt place out a ways. Heck I'll buy local store ice cream before I'll pay that again for a tiny little container....We're here all summer and won't pay that again. For the price, I've had better for a lot less. read more

I visited the mosquito yesterday for an ice cream. I ordered the peanut butter Iditarod. It was advertised as having peanut butter swirl and peanut butter cups. I was disappointed to find only 3 tiny peanut butter cups in the whole ice cream. I've visited many ice cream places that do not skimp on the peanut butter cups. With more peanut butter cups I would give it 5 stars. read more

The ONLY place to go for ice cream if you're within 5 miles of it - they have fabulous, homemade ice cream, have been doing the same terrific job for years now - they moved from a little ice cream stand to this new, larger building a few years ago. Staff is incredible, they always aim to please, and their ice cream is beyond compare - more flavors, more tasty than any we've had, and sometimes we go there twice in a day! Owners are always bending over backwards to make your visit the best, and we'd vote this place "tops" for all of the lakes region. read more
