I bought 1 with video on Groupon as a Vday gift for my Hubby since they were going to be right in my city that weekend after. My mom liked the idea, so she vought one for her fiance too. They have a bromance thing going on so they decided to go together and registered for Friday Feb. 19th 2016 at 4PM online a couple days later, they emailed us apologizing that they had to close by 1PM so we had to reschedule for anytime before 1PM. We chose 11AM, it wasn't an inconvenience afterall because my hubby's schedule changed last minute to 3rd shift for shore power duty (he's a marine electrician). Their reply was very prompt. We had no idea what autocross was but when we got to the address (which was the local mall in my city) like 5 min away, we saw it was a race track made with small orange cones in a large parking lot area. Which was cool, no problem. We were a little late but just in time to sign paperwork and listen in to the last training of the day. We had car insurance and *THEIR INSURANCE IS ONLY OPTIONAL EXTRA COVERAGE* My stepdad paid an extra $100 to get another 3 laps in the other car and gifted another order for my hubby as well. It's their bromance I swear. Lol The instructor/manager was cool as hell. They're all from Boston and I lived there for a year a few years ago so we had a good time joking around with them in their accent. Lol They allowed us to take as many pics as we wanted. And they also took video on a small ScanDisc memory card they provided. Hubby drove both cars and he said in was an epic feeling! I must say he handled the Rarri pretty damn well lol. When all the driving was done. They were wrapping up shop and the manager and other instructor ended up goving us all 3 FREE ride along laps! We had a fucking blast. I went in the lambo and that manager made that lambo and the track his bitches lol. I felt like I was in a Fast & Furious movie or a Nascar track. It was a truly exhilarating experience! After all the Snapchat vids and Facebook posts, out friends and family are definitely interested in trying it out next time they're in town. Regarding the "experience"... Before you read any further, here's my advice... JUST DO IT!!! I'll admit, even I was on the fence, after reading the negative Nancy fears about "the scary ppwk", but; it's there to protect the company from Idiots (and if you're not an Idiot, you'll be fine!) After reading all the negative reviews, I felt compelled to write my own... My story- I drove a Ferrari in Raleigh NC last year, with my best friend of 22 years, (we were 28). He drove the Lamborghini, and it was a memorable experience; we both loved it!! I should mention, that since he is an active duty Marine, he was given 3 BONUS LAPS, as a thank you for his military service. And he didn't ASK; they offered. (Sounds like a shady company to me, right??). Give me a break Both our instructors were awesome, skilled and professional. They even stuck around for 20-30 mins to show us around the cars/ take our photos, and talk about their history with the company and how they got involved. (Apparently, many of them OWN their own exotic cars, and they do this for fun.) And they did not push for tips. It's called "gratuity". Adults know about this. So tip if you enjoy it. And if not, go say what you didn't like. If your concern is legit, maybe they will fix it. So; HOW many people can actually say they have even SAT IN, let alone DRIVEN a supercar!!?? Maybe 3-5%... maybe?? To all you Nay-Sayers (especially the ones who leave a bad review and have never even made the effort to show up? Seriously??). Make the effort, and you could have enjoyed it. I mean, you're kidding, right? You didn't even give yourself the CHANCE to enjoy it. Writing a one star review about something you have never done? You don't KNOW HOW TO DO IT!! But you "think you can" right? As for the false/misleading advertisement complaints about holding their events it in a "race track parking lot"; first off; it's SMART advertising (hey they got your attention, right??) I guess maybe they should have chosen Chuckie Cheese to host. And secondly; WHERE would you like to drive Genius? The open road/freeways...? THE NÜRBURGRING??? If that is your wish, then dream on, bc clearly you don't realize the value of these cars and the risk involved. These guys TOUR all over and they book "closed courses"- On yes; BIG SAFE PARKING LOTS. (Ours was at the NC State Fairgrounds.) And the orange cones make it so you don't play bumper cars! But, if you TRULY WANT a "track experience", then be prepared to shell out $1,500 to $2,000 minimum for a FULL DAY LEARNING, before you even begin to get confident enough to drive a supercar. UNTIL THEN, pay for the $200 groupon. Its quick, but It's worth the $200. And if you CAN'T AFFORD IT, then DON'T COMPLAIN!! Think about the fact that these guys are giving any Joe Blow, the chance to drive a FERARRI. And you are ruining it for other people who don't even take the chance, based on your negative reviews. Keep your heads in the sand, and those of us who use our brains, will keep enjoying a true "Thrill Ride". My only regret (like many I have read); I didn't drive the extra 3 laps. But you know what? It left me wanting to do it again; which is exactly what I'll be doing in 30 days- in Sunny San Francisco. The event I attended was advertised as being at the Spokane Raceway Park road course. This is one of the best road courses for several hundred miles, a shade over 2 miles long, and sounded awesome. My wife bought this for me for my birthday, and I was SO excited to get to drive a Ferrari on a road course for 3 laps. Problem 1) Before the event, you are asked to complete a waiver. No biggy, right? But wait, every single question hits you up for damage waivers to every specific part of the car. They try to get you to pay $20 for each covered part of the car, with stern warnings about cost of replacement parts if you screw up. I declined, but was worried the whole day before about not being able to enjoy myself for fear of bankruptcy. Problem 2) When you arrive for the event, they make you re-do the whole waiver on paper. Why did I bother doing it online the day before? Then, you have to fill out a credit card slip "in case." My wife had already paid, so why did you need an "incidental" CC slip? Starting to seem really sketchy. Problem 3) This is the deal killer. There was no real driving. Instead of driving the road course, they setup a lame cone course IN THE PARKING LOT of the track, and we got 3 laps totaling about 45 seconds of drive time. It took me longer to adjust the seat and mirrors than I got to drive. This whole thing is a complete and utter rip-off. Save your money for a weekend drive school, or some company that doesn't treat you like a child. There were dozens of people there with me this weekend, and you could tell they were all thinking the same thing I was. Worst part is, my wife and kids came to watch me "drive the track," and you could tell she felt so horrible about the whole thing, but I felt angry that she felt that way because she had thought she was getting me the coolest birthday present ever. Even my 10 year old was like, "are you kidding??!? That's it??" By far the worst motorsports experience ever. It is really too bad, because the guys that rode with us were cool, and you could tell they were trying desperately to salvage a horrible thing with their enthusiasm alone. read more

Prior to purchasing this, I read many reviews and was a little nervous about some of the negative ones. I bought this as a gift for my husband's birthday. When booking my date, I had a question about the process and emailed the company. I was answered promptly and booked the date. Circumstances changed and I again had to email them to change my date. The company was very helpful and immediately changed it for me. What a great experience for my husband! (He drove the Lamborghini) The gentleman at check in made the process easy and the "shuttle" driver was very pleasant and enjoyable to chat with. The instructor, Casey, was very patient and friendly also. These three gentleman were dealing with 11 drivers an hour and still made my husband feel welcomed. Casey gave each and every driver his full attention, even stopping to let family members take pictures. So great to see the smile on my husband's face. First let me say I did really enjoy driving the Ferrari. Never drove one before but always wanted to. Instructor was great, he explained everything and was very encouraging throughout the course. Negatives: they advertise the 3 lap experience is $549. That is truly the biggest joke ever. My wife bought this for me for my birthday via a Groupon for $89, which was still too much, but I do agree, they can charge that if the demand is there. I definitely wouldn't say the demand was there the day I went though. Also, the day I went, everything said the cost was $99 for 3 laps, then you can do add ons (never once mentioned that outrageous $549 price, which is nothing but a marketing gimmick). Next, the course was unbelievably short. 3 laps and I couldn't even get to 50mph on a straight-a-way. There was plenty of room to increase the track. Drive time is maybe 4 minutes, complete disappointment for spending $89. Was it fun? Yes. Would I do it again with this company? NEVER! I could get a few guys together and literally we could buy a Lambo and Ferarri and do the exact same thing only make it worth the money. read more

Failure. So not only did they fail to make my test drive dream come true, they also failed others as well. Seeing this on a site where I could save some money (from full price), make a long time dream come true, and get an early birthday present was an awesome win....... Well........ After the purchase everything was booked, keep in mind this was back in February, the date was originally for May 20th. Well roughly a month later, I don't know what happened, but out of no where the booking date got moved to July 30th. Whatever I can deal with that as I didn't have any plans for that day anyways. So the day started around 3pm for me. I had a Ferrari F430 booked for 4pm, had a text message reflecting that time as well, but numerous emails saying 2-3pm. Upon showing up, the Ferrari is in the trailer, thinking to myself great what now!?? Well it just so happens, (yeah it happened alright)...... That the Ferrari was wrecked mid drive due to a tire falling off, that's right I said "falling" off of the car mid test drive experience. The lug bolts snapped and the wheel fell off damaging the car, and of course it could not be repaired on site. I asked the lady what the options were? They claimed the Lamborghini was now over booked due to this problem, and corporate would be getting ahold of those people who lost out. Well considering a long list of people was written down, I expect some unhappy customers considering they mentioned they "may" come back to my location, or a reschedule for another location and if that don't work then a "full refund" will be given. In my book, good maintenance keeping on a supercar would prevent such mishaps from happening. I surely hope that driver didn't get charged for poor maintenance on some one else's car.... So here I am now waiting to hear from them, wondering if I should have "tried" to do something else for my birthday. What a let down..................... read more

So I bought the Ferrari autocross experience through Groupon and admittedly, after reading the reviews on Yelp, I got a little worried. However, I decided to just go to the event thinking "Hey, you don't have to commit if it seems sketchy, you can talk to them/see how everything looks and make your decision there." which is what I *highly recommend* if you purchase a Groupon and are now having second thoughts. **At the very least, even if you decide not to drive the cars, they let everybody take as many photos next to the cars and sit in them** After purchasing the Groupon and signing up for a time slot, I was sent all of the paperwork I needed to fill out before being able to participate in the experience. The paperwork is, admittedly, very intimidating. However, if you examine the situation logically, you realize that you are driving a $100,000+ vehicle. As a company, they need to protect themselves from the people who are 1) really bad drivers and 2) idiotic drivers. The paperwork talks a lot about fines that would accrue if and only if you damage the car. The manner in which they set up the track make it nearly *impossible* for that to happen unless you have poor driving skills. They had some additional insurances you could take out like $20 to cover any scuffs that could occur if you hit a cone or paint chips if there is gravel kick-up. When checking in, we asked the girl working the check-in desk, "Honestly, is there any additional insurances you recommend?" and she simply recommended the $20 cone-scuff insurance. Even that, she was not pushing us to get the insurance and even discouraged us from getting any additional insurance beyond that. I decided to pay for that insurance simply for peace of mind and I would do it again. However, if you're pretty confident in your driving capabilities and don't think you'll hit any cones, please don't think you have to purchase any insurance at all. Tip. I see/have seen a lot of reviews saying that the recommended tip was hundreds of dollars. Yes, this is written in the paperwork, but not ONCE were we *ever* badgered to leave a tip. During the introduction meeting, the nice gentlemen simply informed us that the drivers work off of tips and that if we enjoyed our time, we could leave one with him or at the check-out desk. Then, when checking out, we were asked if we wanted to leave a tip. Other than that, at no time did we feel pressured to tip anyone. Also, the amount you tip is *completely* up to you! We tipped $20 at the check-out desk and the nice lady even asked us, "Do you want any change or the full $20 for tip?" So, don't worry too much about tip. A quick summary of the experience: 1) Bring your driver's license and insurance. You have to be 21 or over to drive. 2) Sign paperwork (I promise, it'll be okay) 3) The professional drivers will take hot laps to show you the limits of the car. You probably will not ever get close to their top speed, so you can usually push the car to what your personal limit is. 4) My friend who I bought the experience for said that during the ride, the drivers was encouraging him to go faster/just giving him some guidance. 5) 3 laps is really short. It's like 1-2 minutes, but really, you're paying for the experience of just getting to drive a Ferrari--something that most people never get a chance to do. If you want to get more lap time, it is available to you. 6) You get a lot of time to take as many photos, videos, and even sit in the car! The earlier you come, the more time you can take photos and check out the cars. The only ~negative~ thing I can say is: This experience is not worth more than $100 or $150. I bought the groupon for approximately $75 and was very happy with that I paid for. Please do not pay an absurd amount ($200-300) because you will be sorely disappointed. Unfortunately all of the comments that others have posted about this being a bit of a scam are true. I received the "agility experience" (basically an autocross; you get to drive the car at speed through a course delimited by cones in the New Hampshire Motor Speedway parking lot ) GroupOn as a gift. One day before my appointment time I received their "information packet", which contained a laundry list of liabilities and additional charges. They basically force you to buy hundreds of dollars of "insurance" for everything from scuffing paint, to hitting cones, to revving the motor over 6500 rpm. Being that redline on the car is 9000 rpm and that it spins up incredibly fast, that last one is particularly troubling. You either pay them $100-$200 in additional fees, or risk them automatically charging your credit card for $1500-$2500 dollars if you spin the motor over their arbitrary limit, or scuffing the paint on the car. On top of all of that they push you through a high degree of pressure to tip the "instructor" who rides along with you. They "encourage" you to tip 20% of the full value of the "experience"; meaning you get the pleasure of paying another $200+ for the privilege of having a glorified baby-sitter in the right seat. Ultimately I refused to give them my credit card and do the event at all. I'm hopeful I can get some of my money back from GroupOn, but I felt better losing the value of the voucher ($200) then being in a position to pay them hundreds more in ridiculous fees. read more

I backed out because I didn't realize all of the BAD fine print, and then just looked at the other Yelp reviews because a friend of mine still has his coupon. To my surprise, Groupon is still offering an 'Groupon Now' deal on this, though for $199 which if I remember is more expensive than the original. BEWARE this listing does NOT contain the fine print which you must read. See the other Yelp reviews for the details, but basically you can't rev your car above a certain RPM or they upgrade you to a ** $2500** price package. You are liable for parking tickets for THEM parking their car illegally if you happen to run late, you are responsible for 'dings and dents' while driving - so what, a rock gets thrown up and chips the paint and you have to pay the repair and time lost for rentals??! This is a total scam of a deal, it seems to me, and so I would warn people to go to the site, download the terms & conditions PDF (read: contract) and understand just how badly you are responsible for every possible issue that should be the responsibility of the car owner. THIS IS A SCAM - STAY AWAY. I signed up for the Living Social offer of $99 for the Ferrari/Lambo driving experience in Savannah, Ga in March 2014. When they send you the 13 page 'driver profile' you will agree with me. Here are some of the 'extra' charges. First you pay tax - on the 'list price (+$76), second they strongly recommend a gratuity for the driver of 18-25% (+$100) and lastly - there are about $160 of added waivers they offer and you would be an idiot not to take them since they cover - taking the RPMS's over 6500 (these cars red-line around 8,000 - for example if you hit 6,501 RPMS anywhere on the course +$1,000. They will ding you for a scuff on a cone, they charge you if you hit a cone (it is an autocross course people - the idea is to to get close to cones), they can charge you if they perceive you are slipping the clutch too much, and for any of these they can charge you for loss of use and administrative costs. I repeat - THIS IS A SCAM - STAY AWAY. I will also not use Living Social or Groupon again these two companies know this is a scam. read more

I cancelled this Groupon as well. This "Ferrari experience" took months to schedule and then they cancelled the day before the appointment. The Ferrari "experienced" an ("exotic"?) clutch problem. Sounds like this poor horse has the bit in its mouth all day/everyday. Also - they require more information than a passport or a (pet or human) adoption application. If that's not enough, they never answer their phone - the voice-mail of which says something like "don't call our office"? Lastly - this required gratuity - which the Groupon offer doesn't include any information on - is absurd to say the least. Everyone knows that people who buy offers on Groupon have $200 to tip for a one-hour service, no big deal. (bwhaha) How about just including what you pay your "instructors" in the price instead of providing your PAYING CUSTOMERS with fine print that says "a 15% gratuity on the full-price amount is expected." A NEUTERED sports car experience. The paddle shift is a weak decision... but not as small time as the reduced rev limit, punishable by $2500 fee! The route is preplanned and traffic choked, and if you put enough pedal down to pass with authority you're getting up in $$ danger zone of the tach. This rev limiter nonsense had me more worried about RPM than enjoying the ride. $25oo can buy a lot of track time. Got to try this out through a groupon bought for me. I can say I enjoyed driving the car however, I left the experience underwhelmed. The booking process was fine, the instructor was friendly so no problems there. The thing is, I've owned a fast car and I was not impressed with the experience. The course was through city streets and I got caught behind traffic a lot. (this is easy because you're always catching up to the car ahead of you.) You really only get to drive the car a brief period and I've gone much faster on these road in far less expensive cars. Would I do it again? ... Probably not. There's better driving experiences out there for longer. Bottom line, I don't think I really got to "experience" the car as much as I was expecting. The gratuity part of the experience was very tacky. The reminder was on ALL the paperwork. I didn't understand the request to pay someone an add'l $125 for what amounted to the same instruction I'd get on a test drive at a Toyota dealership. (turn left here, right lane there) There was nothing about real driving (how to take a turn in a Ferrari). It was just a guy (albeit, a nice guy) riding along to make sure you don't hit someone, go "off - course" or steal the car. Maybe they offer a better experience but I'm sure it's for more money ... Dear Motorsport Lab, I wanted to let you know that I purchased 2 Groupons for my brother and I and reserved Friday July 17th, 2015. After my purchase I ended up looking at your online reviews and was appalled to learn that "Autocross" is actually orange cones in a parking lot. This is VERY misleading as you specifically advertise "Portland International Raceway Autocross Lot". It never occurred to me until after reading your reviews that this expierience isn't actually on the track and in fact is in a parking lot with orange cones LOL. Rent a Wallmart parking lot and advertise it's going to be held there and see how many takers you get. Same experience right? Right. You are holding it it in the Portland International Raceway parking lot FOR THE NAME! You are banking on the fact that by the time folks figure out they are driving for less than 4 min. in a parking lot it's too late to back out. Given the fact that 99% of the public doesn't know what an "autocross lot" is this Groupon is misleading and you should be ashamed of yourselves, alternatively you can be proud that you are taking advantage of capitalism by hiding behind "legally accurate" language and collecting a lot of money while disappointing most of the folks. I guess that's why you have so many 1 star ratings. Your reviews define you as a company, and will do so more and more in the future. Someone at your company should think about this because it's just a matter of time until a critical mass of bad reviews prompts someone to write a story in a reputable paper or god forbid TV coverage. THIS IS FOR THEIR "FERRARI EXPERIENCE" RACING COURSE IN NH Bought into the Groupon for $99 and was able to get scheduled without an issue. Few things, the true cost = $200+ when you factor in mandatory $100 tip and whether you want the insurance (thought I'd be safe and bought it, read on, it is totally unnecessary for this experience). Total experience = 26 minutes from arrival to departure (we were first to drive), total time in the car = 7 minutes, total time driving the car, 4 minutes. The car is a 2003 360 Modena that looks far worse (scrapes, dings, fading interior) than the pictures on the site. They will tell you it is "extremely rare" because only 40 were made in yellow with a tan interior (ooh, pinch me!). The fact that the yellow and tan look like sh*t together is why only 40 people in the world over a six year production run ordered that combination. It has paddle shifters but you won't be able to use them as it will be left in automatic mode only which turns out to be fine as you will barely get out of 1st gear. It is 3 very short laps around an agility course set up in a parking lot of the speedway, you are nowhere near the actual track. Also, there is no shelter if it is raining or cold so dress for standing around outside as the "experience" is run off a card table outside the parking lot restrooms. "Course" appears as a random cone layout and the "training" (4 powerpoint slides telling you to have fun) and first "instructor lap" (person showing off how fast they can drive the course but not actually allowing you to learn the path or lines) are useless. First lap can't get above 25 mph as you have no idea where you are supposed to be driving. By the third lap you have about two thirds of the course layout in your head and are able to make a few quick turns but even then it is too tight/short to get much above 40mph. Not worth it even for $99. read more

I agree this operation seems like a sham. I paid $200 for the Groupon to get 6 laps in a Lamborgini. Then they want you to tip your instructor based on the actual value of the experience which is WAY overinflated to something like $600, so they want you to tip the driver nearly as much as you paid for the experience on Groupon. Not to mention the rather intimidating waivers and potential "fines". You get to Loudon expecting to actually drive on the racetrack only to find it's a tiny little cone-lined autocross setup in a parking lot. Why even have the event at a racetrack? I think that deliberately misleads people into thinking they are going to drive fast. You never get out of second gear and maybe hit 50 MPH if you're lucky. It is cool to say you drove a supercar, but the overall experience is flawed. I'd rather go to F1 Boston and at least get to race on a track, even if it's just go-carts. Finally, the pre-drive operation was terrible. We stood in line for an hour outside, and then many people were told they had to go to a different location for their event. I bought a family member this groupon as a gift, thinking that it would be a cool experience - I mean, how often do you get to drive a Ferrari? What a horrible mistake. As it turns out, you are apparently guilted the entire time into giving your "coach" a $100+ tip . In addition, typical car insurance does not cover this at all. Therefore, you either need to upgrade your car insurance, or buy insurance from them at a rate of $190 for the 3 laps - PLEASE NOTE THIS IS NOT ADDITIONAL COVERAGE - YOU WILL BE 100% LIABLE IF YOU CRASH THE CAR WITHOUT IT. Also, you'll notice that the address for the drive is at a race track. However, they never display a course map - this is because THE TRACK IS A BUNCH OF ORANGE CONES IN THE PARKING LOT OF THE RACE TRACK. This pretty clearly was meant to mislead you into thinking that you'll get to drive the car on a track. If that wasn't all, the orange-cone parking lot track is very small, and the actual amount of time in the car is very small for the $500 outlay. Sadly, I think this ended up being the worst gift i've ever given. :( read more

The people posting on yelp about this company need to grow up. My wife got this for me as an anniversary present and I was pleased by every part of it. Here is the unbiased truth about the experience: 1) Fill out the paperwork. Sign it. You don't have to get any extra insurance. 2) Show up 45 minutes ahead of time with the paperwork. Show it to them. 3) Drive an awesome car you'd probably never get to drive. Drive fast. Have fun. 4) Tip the guy in the car what you think is fair. You can give cash or tip on a card. Or tip nothing if you really want to be that guy. The people at check-in were nice and helpful. They didn't try to sell me anything or bully me into anything else. They asked if I wanted a shirt when I left. The owner is there and is incredibly nice. He gave very clear instructions and told people to clap because it's a nice thing to do. The drivers ("sherpas") are also very nice and they didn't tell me what to do unless I was screwing up on the drive. He told me to do whatever I wanted in the car but to keep it in second gear which was plenty for anyone for the course. You get exactly what you pay for. The experience is clearly defined. The paperwork is there to protect them from screwing up their $150K cars. 99.5% of people won't have an issue. You have to drive like a complete idiot or be learning to drive for the first time to mess up the cars. They clearly show you all the damage on the car before you drive it. The cars are in immaculate shape with mint interiors and low miles, so these aren't "beater" cars as someone said. Yes, the car I drove had mismatched wheels because they swap out wheels with new tires if needed during their weekends. The amount of people who tried to say this was a scam on Yelp really soured the entire experience for me. I kept expecting a "gotcha" the whole time I was there and it never happened. I barely got to enjoy my drive because I was taking it super easy because I was so scared of all of the garbage the people reviewing this company spewed because they were too ignorant to fill out paperwork. They also gave me my credit card info back IMMEDIATELY after my drive, so the whole "24 hour" thing I read on here is also untrue. Who is this not for? Perhaps people who race their Porsches on the weekend and are accomplished racers. This is for people have always dreamed of driving a Ferrari or Lamborghini, not for people who are racing car drivers. I really cannot imagine that half the people on Yelp who left reviews were so accomplished in their autocross careers that they were infuriated by being allowed to whip a 500HP car around a parking lot for $50. You people have some seriously high standards for entertainment if you think they are going to let you on a real racetrack with cars this powerful for so little money with zero credentials. GO DRIVE AN AWESOME CAR! HAVE FUN! Stop listening to the children on this site, they will ruin the experience for you ahead of time. read more

I have to say after reading all of these negative reviews, I am overwhelmed by how many people actually reviewed this after they bought the experience from Groupon and then didn't actually go through with doing the experience. I would probably give one star to any experience I paid for and didn't go to... Oh wait, never mind, I would never do that! I did this in Raleigh, NC in March. My wife bought the Groupon for me for Christmas. I drove the Ferrari and upgraded to 6 laps. The paperwork is there to protect the company from some asshole coming out there and trying to do donuts or for god sake taking the car off the course. You aren't going to get the car above 60 mph and you won't come close to the RPM limit. That being said, the cornering and agility as well as the raw power from this car was amazing. Every person there who drove either car was grinning from ear to ear when they finished. I loved this experience! You don't need to pay for the insurance as the car isn't going to get messed up. I would urge anyone to do this and to purchase the 3 additional laps. They will let you tip whatever you want and discourage you from tipping before you are finished. I thought that the staff were very friendly and informative. Do It!! read more

Great time. My wife bought her dad and I 4-lap packages. It was a great time. Don't get thrown by the 15-page contract, the hideous liability language, the "insurance" (don't buy any of those), the gratuity (tip what you are comfortable with, but do tip, it's only fair). Seriously. Just sign away your life (I promise you won't kill the car or yourself... one bonehead hit a cone the entire time, out of like 40 people totally 150-200 laps). 4 laps goes by crazy fast. Also, try not to go last in your group. I was (because I signed in last, my own fault), and got screwed out of the :30-:60 instructional downtime between laps. It was fine, but I would've liked that. Bottom line, if you want to drive a Super Car, this is for you. Anyone who will be reading reviews on Trip Advisor, this will be posted there too - don't think it's a bogus review. I got The Motorsport Lab Groupon for my birthday and made a reservation online. It sounded great, but turned out to be a disaster: 1. You probably expect this to happen at a serious racing track or something like that. Lower your expectations - it will take place at a mall parking lot, where the surface is not that even and there's generally not to much space to go accelerate for more than... maybe 1 second... 2. My drive was supposed to happen in the Bay Area and the groupon said 1 Southland Mall, Hayward, CA. I looked up the address on Google Maps and it was a Southland Mall - which sounded suspicious. Back then I didn't know that the racing is gonna happen on a parking lot... So, I checked the website for the address and directions: no address listed anwhere in the Bay Area. So, I tried contacting the organizer to confirm the address. I couldn't reach them by the phone (I found out it's generally impossible to reach them on the phone, nobody picks it up) and by email (this didn't work either, it takes them days to respond). So, I tried looking up more attentively in the confirmation email that they sent me: nothing in the email itself. I looked in one of the PDF documents that they attached to the email and there it said that the racing takes place in Milpitas. So, I ended up going to that address just to find out that there's noone there. Then I went to the 1 Southland Mall in Hayward and finally found them. 3. During the sign up process they charge you $140+ in extra insurance fees because your insurance probably doesn't cover supercar experiences... Then they suggest a generous $90+ tip and literally try to charge you for everything, like going more than 6500 RPM is at extra change. Get ready to pay more money... 4. The instructor who was explaining the rules, etc wasn't pleasant at all, he was making some stupid, sometimes offensive jokes. 5. I ended up getting a ride along, not driving myself, because to drive you need an auto insurance. This was in the Groupon printout, so no complaints here, just keep this in mind. The only positive thing in that entire experience was the driver. He was friendly and I enjoyed the 3 lap ride along drive itself... I understand that this is an expensive and risky business to run because of how expensive the cars are. But this does not justify such a poor service! read more

After initially reviewing the paperwork for the upcoming drive, I was skeptical. The paperwork required me to write my cc number on a piece of paper and sign up for optional coverage for wear and tear on the car (which is strongly phrased as something you should do so you are not out a lot of money for rims, or bumber scuffs). Off the cuff, this seems shady. Once I got there, all my concerns were at ease. Everyone was very nice and answered any concerns. Once I got in the car, the instructor was nice and personable. He explained everything carefully and clearly. For the driving experience, all I can say is WOW! It was one of the most memorable and exciting two minutes of my life. Considering the Lamborghini has been my dream car since the Countach, being in one, pressing the pedal to the floor was definitely a dream come true. Looking back I would only do two things differently. I would get there as early as possible to sign up. They go in the signup time order, so if you get there early, you can get in the car sooner. The other change would be to purchase the 5 extra laps. Right about the time you get used to the car and what it can handle, the rides over. Its worth the extra cash to be able to get more from the car. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. Bought a groupon for my husbands birthday. We even got a "reminder" email. Drove 2 hours to the location and not a soul in sight. Called the number 3 times and left 3 messages. Still haven't received a return call and it's been 4 days. I also emailed twice and have received no response. Groupon refunded my money on "groupon bucks". Kind of crappy since this is the fault of this company. I'd highly recommend doing your research first and try to speak with actual people who have managed to experience this. read more

Disappointing. Drove around some cones in a small parking lot in 2nd gear. Paid for & was promised a video which I never received. When I asked the employee working at the event how I can get it, she just handed me a card with the website. There is nothing on the website regarding individual videos. What a bait & switch. Super disappointing experience. My best friend is obsessed with cars and so I was so excited to buy him this experience as a gift before his wedding. The address given was a big race track in Salt Lake City and so I was excited, but it ended up being in the parking lot! The track was so tiny and there was no opportunity to even leave 2nd gear. Of course I didn't believe he would be driving at top speeds, but what we got was terrible. I've seen bigger driver's ed courses. read more

I never really understood the car obsession. Sure it's shiny, but I mocked the middle-aged man zooming around in his sports car who considers "test driving" a legitimate weekend activity. I was content with my entirely limited view that as long as it gets you from point a to point b .. a car's a car. wrong wrong wrong. As much as a Ferrari looks good, it feels even better. A take your breath away, laugh till you cry high. Accelerating through Boston at sunrise - you'll miss all the sites, but instead feel the labyrinth of streets that the city is know for through an engine that speaks to your soul. And during rush hour? Like a caffeinated Frogger, you just weave in and out of other cars moving at a near-glacial pace. Paul Revere had no ride like this. Eugene was amazing - and is still living - which is quite the feat since this was the first time I operated a "standard" car of any sort. Full disclosure, I won this opportunity through a raffle. And yes, they did dictate their own gratuity upfront [20% of the retail value] - which I thought was odd, presumptuous and off-putting at the time .. though I realize they must do this while you are still a rational human, because after, you'll be useless in your own adrenaline-induced bliss ... but there are more becoming ways to earn tips. read more

Yes, there is a lot of paperwork. And yes you have to pay a gratuity and some other fees that are based on the retail price of the service even if you have a groupon. (Don't you tip on the full price of a meal even if you have a coupon or gift card? Why should your server suffer because management puts out a promotion?) And yes if you schedule your ride during rush hour you will run into a lot of traffic and not be able to go very fast. And YES, if you don't know how to drive fast without over-revving the engine, you might run into their rev limit. On the other hand, if you plan to go early (they open at 7:00) or late morning (11:00 is pretty light), can handle a little paperwork and are a good tipper to begin with, you can have the experience I've had. I drove the Aston on one occasion and the Ferrari on another. Amazing cars, and easier to handle than I feared. The Ferrari in particular is a dream. I find the Aston a little insulating, but I'm more a sports car guy than a luxury one. The copilot they sent with me was nice and easy to chat with. He had good advice about where to go to avoid traffic and get a little running room. He told me when to roll down the windows to get the best engine sound reflected from tunnel walls. I was happy to give him that tip. It was just fun to be able to drive the sort of car I could never afford. Totally worth it. I can't speak to last-minute rescheduling as that hasn't happened to me. When I drove with them they only had the two cars, so if one is in the shop (something Ferrari's are famous for), I guess that's what happens. I'm headed for the NH Speedway Agility experience today. I'll add an update for that once it's done. UPDATE: I did the Ferrari Agility Experience at NH Speedway with 3 friends from work on a Groupon. It wasn't cheap even with the Groupon, but we had a blast! Yeah, you are restricted to a wide, flat parking lot filled with cones, but it's not about speed. It's about cornering, acceleration and braking - all of which are dramatic in a Ferrari. We each got a lap with the instructor driving and then four laps as the driver. It takes practice to do the agility course well but on the fourth lap you can really let fly. RECOMMENDED. read more

It's fabulous. Do it! Based on my experience in Portland on a sunny day driving a Lamborghini Gallardo. I bought this through the Groupon and it was worth it. - The waivers are in place to protect the company from people who wish to abuse the opportunity. Others will have a great time. They don't nickle and dime you. - I expected to drive on the race track, but the autocross track they had was enough to experience the phenomenal grip, acceleration and braking that these cars provide, which is what the experience is about. - I recommend doing 6 laps. By the end of the second you'll realize how, and how much you can push it and you'll enjoy it more after that. - The instructors are super nice, and will actually ask you to step on the gas more at appropriate times. Gratuities for them are not written in stone. Since the cost of running this business is pretty high, I think they can use a good tip, however they are happy with what you can offer out of your hard earned money. read more

After reading all the negative reviews I was really worried about driving 2 hours to one of their events. Not to mention it was pouring rain and hearing about all the times they had cancelled events and people weren't notified. If you have attempted to contact them on their posted phone number don't bother. They never answer which is really frustrating. But I was able to send a note on Facebook and got a response minutes later. When we got to the event I was pleasantly surprised. There was no pressure from the staff to tip or purchase excessive insurance. The trainers and staff were nothing but professional and went out of their way to make sure everyone had a blast. Tons of fun! I got the Motorcross experience as a gift along with my father and brother in law. We were initially intimidated by the contract they make you sign but after calling and talking to someone about it, we learned it wasn't a big deal and didn't need to pay for any of the insurance, since the likelihood of needing it is very small for the Motorcross experience. The short experience was just a taste of what these cars can do and will make you want to ride more or take a full lesson. read more

I agree with other reviews that the advertised "racetracks" are misleading. I did my research and saw YouTube videos so I knew about the parking lots. I bought 3 groupon deals for my dad, brother and boyfriend. They all had a good time regardless of the lot. Only complaint they had was they wish the straight way on the track was longer. They were only able to get to second gear before slowing down to turn the corner. I bought a video package for my dad. When we checked the video at home we didn't find any videos in the folder. I emailed the company last night and received an email this morning. They were willing to refund for the video. Since it was a birthday gift for my dad, I really wanted to capture this experience. I emailed them back requesting to go back today, Chuck (event manager), called me and told us to come back! My dad was able to drive the lambo again and we have it on video! :) read more

I tried this out as a gift at the New Hampshire Speedway (via GroupOn) - best gift EVER! At first when I arrived, I didn't think much of this "parking lot" driving... and I was put off by the waivers and RPM limits etc... however don't let that bother you!! The experience was fantastic! (I think a lot of the negative reviews on this agility experience are from people who didn't actually drive the car. I didn't read the bad reviews until after my experience, which is probably a good thing because they may have scared me off / ruined my fun.) Scott Major was my driver, and he gave a great overview/training before the drive experience. I was a bit freaked out (a lot freaked out?) of figuring out how to drive this car, as I've never driven a Ferrari before - but I felt better after the pre-amble. It was SO AWESOME. I thought it would be difficult to follow the course, but that part of it was fine -- it was trying to go as fast as possible around the curves and turns, and trying to get as much engine roar and tire squealing as possible :) Scott is a great driver and guide (the ride he takes you on for the first lap was a blast.) Before I did this, I didn't understand why I needed a "driver guide". I would totally do this again - although it's a long drive for me to the Speedway. If I did it again, I would try to remember that the brakes on that thing are killer --- so I can stay on the gas for longer before I brake into the hairpin turn. I'm used to regular cars that need more brake distance. I would also try to stay tighter to the cones on the "slalom" part at the beginning. Re: extra insurance -- I didn't get anything extra except the $20 paint one. Normally I wouldn't but I saw some guy before me bang into some cones and made some black marks on the car. After I did my drive, I'm not sure how the heck he did that, but I figure it's better to spend the $20 so you can concentrate on trying to push your limit. While we were there they were giving spouses/kids rides around the course which I thought was great. I almost wished I was a "spouse" rather than a driver so I could get more rides by the driver. I would have brought the kids if I knew it was so family friendly!! The kids were loving it. Have fun! I went with friends, and we were on a high for the rest of the day! read more
