That being said, they don't offer drip coffee, only Americano which was disappointing (coffee was ok) and the large (which costs $5!) is really a small size (S Bucks equivalent of a small). This is SUCH an elite place for studying. Tons of outlets, tables, and outdoor seating. It's so good that literally everyone flocks here and it can be hard to get a seat after 12 or so, but when I go in the morning before the noon study rush, I always find a table. Wow! The tiramisu latte was incredible. The cream is on point and delicious! Must try! And enjoy the cream before you give it a swirl. The blueberry matcha was unlike any matcha I've had. First, the blueberry was not a pump syrup but you can actually sense real, fresh fruit. Matcha at mugs is always good but I loved this new twist. Love this place to study. Lots of outlets inside but it can get crowded. I've tried the strawberry matcha, blueberry matcha, berry sunrise, and dalgona coffee. All super good. Berry sunrise is a nice refreshing surprise! Sometimes the WiFi will not work, especially when first sitting down. Overall love this cafe, especially since it is open later. read more

So excited that The Mugs has opened up an additional location here in Irvine! I used to frequent their other in location in Diamond Bar all the time, and I'm glad that I can now get the same tasty honey lavender latte (and sometimes a spanish latte) here. The place seems to already be quite popular as everytime I stop by, there's a bunch of people hanging out inside with a drink and their laptop. Sometimes service can be a little slow (they seem to have trouble when juggling in-person orders, in-store kiosk orders and app orders all at once), but I'm sure they are still working out some kinks as they get settled into this new location. I nearly grew up going to the Mugs location in Diamond Bar (from getting homework done in highschool to hanging with friends when we were home for college breaks.. I even put my mom on and she's their number one fan). So imagine my surprise when they opened a location in Irvine just a couple months after I moved here :,) my little home away from home treat. The service is always great and really speedy and the Irvine location in particular is amazing for those who work from home like me. I love coming here on a Friday morning to get work done and enjoy a delicious coffee. My favorites are the Spanish and Tiramisu! Knocking off a point for the food - honestly not special and way overpriced (that goes for DB location too). Out of the three locations I've been to this one was the most packed. It's located near UCI I believe so all the seats were taken inside by students. The line for the bathroom took a while and it wasn't very clean and it was clogged by the time I went inside... other than that they had plenty of seats to sit outside and the staff was very friendly and took care of the restroom right away when I mentioned it to them. read more

Well well, since they had a location in Westminster and heard about it, that location closed. A good friend who lives in Irvine and was hosting a meet and greet at the mugs Irvine location and I needed a good ride to earn a pour and the photos of said pour did not disappoint. Upon entering the head barista at the time was pleasant and answered all of my pertinent questions. Since my friends were there and one never had a pour, I ordered 3 and a pastry. Delightful, delectable and truly delicious! So upon partaking in a proper pour sesh and mugs , everything was so on point. A new stop on some of my rides around and I will also meet up with my friend there as she lives close. Thanks for the great coffee and pastry. This is the perfect study cafe! They have an abundance of tables inside and out so you will always have somewhere to station yourself to work away for the day. The coffee and matcha are both great as well. The honey lavender is the only drink I would advise against, but I am not the buggest lavender fan so I am biased on that. The best thing about this shop is that the baristas are so good at the latte art! My oatmilk latte looked like a work of art, I was truly impressed. The space is a bit broken up so it can be hard to walk around in there when it's busy, and it feels a bit cramped. Also, when it's busy, it's not easy to find a seat. I've had a very hit or miss experience with The Mugs in the handful of times I've gone. The food here is great (love the croffles!), and if I was rating it on that basis it would be 4 stars for sure. As a college student, they have a great ambiance, service, seating, and proximity to charging plugs. Wi-fi is quite spotty and I usually end up using hotspot. HOWEVER, their drinks leave much to be desired at times. I ordered a decaf pour over, and it was EXTREMELY acidic and bitter, to the point where none of the notes were coming through. My partner got a tea that was extremely tart -- neither of us could finish our drinks. Some of their other drink selections are relatively bang average. Blueberry matcha. I thought it would be creamier just from online pictures. It tasted pretty good until I reached the ends to it. Felt the "mashed" blueberry or whatever it is on the bottom. The drink tasted good, but the bottom part not so much. Felt like it was too sweet then more towards the bitter side. Not too bitter but just not the best tasting feel to it. The Mugs is nestled within the plaza of the Korean market. When you enter, it looks small but there's more seating towards the back and the interior is very nice and clean. There are a lot of people back there studying so I don't know how lucky you might get grabbing a table. Many of those tables are four seaters so hopefully people are nice to let you sit. The front and outside tables are where the elderly like to sit and chat. I really liked the croffle sandwich and I got two drinks. I'm not too crazy about the drinks tbh. I got the dalgona which tasted weirdly watered down. Once the honeycomb melted, it tasted better but I don't know. I also tried the blueberry matcha. I come here so many times for the tiramisu latte, sometimes it gets too sweet sometimes it fills up only 90% of the cup. today might be my last time, the cheese foam was curdled so ugly and the powder was uneven spread at the top, the staff looked grumpy when she was making it and didn't bother to stir the cheese foam to make it even or the foam is not in good condition? considering there was no other orders she needed to rush or anything, so if you expect consistency, this might not be the place. read more
