Brunched at Blueberry Social with some friends on a busy Saturday morning. The indoor / outdoor concept is neat and you'll be lucky to snag a seat inside as the aesthetic is cute and trendy. The line was kinda long around 11a on Saturday but moved somewhat quickly. Order at the counter and then self-seat. I ordered the breakfast burrito and an iced matcha latte with a cream top. The breakfast burrito was filled to a good size and came with a side of tator tots and small salad. The entire plate was pretty satiating and tasty. The only thing I would change is the quantity of salsa as the little cup was nearly not enough. I must say, I was impressed with the iced matcha latte as I didn't think it would be as good as it was. It comes pre-sweetened with agave but thankfully wasn't too sweet. The service was ok, nothing special or to write home about. We sat outside and our food was brought to us and then plates were picked up after we were done eating. Next time I'd like to sit inside and enjoy the effort they've put into the decor. read more

Stumbled upon BLUEBERRY SOCIAL while looking for restaurants to try in the area. Loved the whole vibe so we came to check it out one Saturday around noon. There was a line out the door, which we expected because of the time of day and from posts we've seen, but the line moves quickly since you order at the counter and then find a table. There are plenty of tables inside and outside, but I'm assuming they're usually all taken inside. Luckily, we were able to grab a table inside. The design and decor is so cute and chic! The booths have pink suede couches and so comfy and roomy! So Cal Loko Moko -- it was just okay for me, I think my tastebuds were expecting an original loco moco flavor, but the garlic fried rice was throwing it off. Still good nonetheless. Hawaiian island pancake -- liked this, sweet enough for me without the syrup. B.B tots -- very crispy which I liked, but other than that, they're just tots. They have a huge breakfast/brunch menu and they have separate lunch/dinner menu as well! They also had a lot of interesting drinks, but we didn't order any this time. Service is quick & efficient and the staff was friendly ~ providing food & drink recs, since everything looked good and it's hard to decide. The menu is American comfort food w/ a modern twist. The vibe is casual and I love the aesthetically pleasing decor (esp. the cute pinkish suede couches/bench tables inside) ~ it's quite contemporary & calming. The food? Super yums! Everything was very fresh and tasty. It actually felt worth the hype (which is rare lol). The portions were solid, and the presentation was definitely IG-worthy..go check out my pics & see for yourself. Came here to eat breakfast and the portions and food did not disappoint. The ambiance is somewhat fast paced and there is lots of seating outdoor. The drinks Ingot were the blueberry crumble latte and the double matcha. Both drinks were amazing. Strong 5/5. The truffle tots were decent, I expected it to wow me but it tasted super stale and hard. 2/5. We got the egg spam sandwich and surprisingly it was good. The bread was super soft and the jam made it taste that much better. It came with arugula salad and tots. It paired very well. 4.8/5 Next dish is the chicken and waffles. The waffles to me was the star of the dish. The chicken breading kept falling apart which did not make the meal feel god. I waffle was crunchy, soft, and fluffy. Very good. The poach egg wasn't necessary but I ain't complaining. 4.7/5. Last dish is the Choko Moko. Everything about it was great. No complaints. 5/5. The only complaint I have is people who are done inside are super inconsiderate for those waiting. I saw a table that was done when I was in line just sitting down and talking. There's nothing wrong with catching up, but if you see the place is busy, please kindly give up your table so others may sit. I was in line, got my food, ate it, and they were still there just chit chatting while everyone was looking for a table. I hope the wait staff in the future puts a time limit of when someone is done to tell the party to give up their table. Came here to try their Happy Hour menu and it was great! For the food and price, it definitely is a great value! The great thing is the Happy Hour is all days of the week, most places only have weekdays. I got their Poke nachos, Truffle mushroom pizza, Margherita pizza, and Tokyo lobby fried chicken. The poke nachos were great, good portion of poke and sauce but the nachos were on the oily side. The pizzas had a good dough to topping ratio, although I would have liked if the truffle mushroom had more truffle flavor. It was heavy on the mushroom so it just tasted like a mushroom pizza. The fried chicken was also nicely made, crispy on the outside and tender inside. As for drinks, I tried their Hawaiian mango smoothie and the neapolitian latte. The smoothie reminded me of a more affordable erhwon smoothie with their dates and spirulina. The latte reminds me of the ice cream, chocolatey with strawberry bits. It's more of an order first and then find a seat kind of place, but the vibes are still really good. We got the Jack and Jill combos, which are pretty similar except one comes with pancakes and the other with a waffle. I think I liked the waffle more because of the texture, and it paired so well with the cream. I also ordered the Neapolitan latte and it was actually so fun. The cream on top really did remind me of Neapolitan ice cream, and there was strawberry at the bottom which I thought might be weird at first. The Matcha orange dreamsicle for $8 is a definite win here. Comes with oat milk automatically, and the way they put together the drink... it came out so pretty and tastes so good! And we waited patiently for 20 minutes for a table to open up. But once we ordered, we waited 55 minutes for 3 of our 4 dishes came. But then we had to wait another 15 for my son's pancakes to come out. The first time we came, I assumed it was growing pains of a new restaurant but the second time... The manager said food takes minimum 45 minutes. The manager did feel bad and comp'd some of our food, which was generous, but I suggest only coming if you are prepared to wait and wait and wait. This is a very popular brunch spot in Irvine. There was a long line to order on a Sunday afternoon around 1:30pm. I came back for dinner on a Thursday night, and it was not as busy. Both were pretty good 4/5 Chicken Koko Moco - 5/5, this is so yummy! Highly recommend! Big Breakfast Burrito - 3/5, but this was probably my fault, coz I asked for no bell peppers, and that inadvertently took away caramelized onion. I didn't see or taste any potatoes or bacon in the burrito. It was just very salty. I ended up only eating a few bites. It comes with salad and tater tots. Hawaiian Island Pancake- also a 5/5, very fresh and fluffy. Dinner: Caprese Burrata salad - fresh and decent portion Vongole pasta - it comes with a side salad, and the bread that came with it was so yummy. Pasta was also very yummy and fresh. i came here for breakfast for the first time on a monday afternoon. it was extremely crowded and we waited 40 minutes in line just to order. the food came relatively fast so the hold up was definitely the cashier and not the other wait staff. i got a breakfast burrito and blueberry matcha latte. i have no idea what matcha powder they're using but it's pretty bland and the milk over powered the drink. it was very creamy and milky. the breakfast burrito was ok but it was also kind of bland. there was also some major miscommunication and 2 requests were overlooked. overall pretty disappointed in the food and service and would not recommend or come back. read more

It was our first time, and while the cashier wasn't very helpful when we were trying to decide what to order, the rest of the experience was much better. We ordered the Neapolitan latte, strawberry matcha latte, the So Cal Loko Moko, and the Hawaiian Island Pancake. The loko moco was hearty and flavorful, and the pancake was a fun sweeter option. We ended up sitting outside since the booths were full, and the patio was perfect with the nice weather. I finally got to try this brunch place. I thought I would be packed but good thing I came around 2 and it wasn't too busy. The omelette with the brisket was pretty good. The meat was soft and tender. It's also very flavorful with lot of different spices. The breakfast burrito had way more egg than I expected. However I didn't really like the ground meat in there. Some brisket meat would've been better. The inside was designed like a bar with a view booths for couples or groups and some bar tables. Lots of seats outside too. Parking is plentiful. I recently visited Blueberry Social for breakfast, and while the experience had some highlights, it didn't quite live up to expectations overall. I so wanted to love this place , but it felt short. To start, the ordering process is a bit inconvenient. You have to stand in line and place your order at the counter before finding a table, which I don't mind--but there's no menu available until you reach the front. Because of that, the line moves slowly. We ended up waiting about 11 minutes just to place our order. That said, the young woman who helped us (she wore glasses) was very polite and made the ordering process pleasant. For three breakfast dishes, two specialty coffees, and one cinnamon roll, our total came out to over $80. And the cinnamon roll was cold and not too tasty. Seating was another mixed experience. There were no booths available, so we sat at the bar. It was beautifully decorated and aesthetically pleasing, but not very functional for conversation since we were all seated in a straight line rather than across from each other. As for the food, it was...just okay. Everything was cooked properly and presented well, so no complaints about execution--but it lacked flavor. None of us disliked our meals, but none of us were impressed either. We all tried each other's dishes and agreed it wasn't anything we'd go out of our way to have again. I consider myself a breakfast connoisseur but the food lacked flavor but thank goodness it was pleasant to look at --- The food came out fairly quickly, but since we didn't finish our meals, we needed boxes to go. This turned into another challenge. Because there are no assigned servers, it was difficult to get anyone's attention. It took about 14 minutes to finally get help, as the staff seemed busy juggling drinks, orders, and food running. Overall, the concept of the restaurant is cute and the decor is visually appealing, but the experience didn't quite match the price point. If you're a coffee lover, it might be worth checking out for the drinks alone. Incredibly torn about this place!! When the food is good the food is GOOD & the drinks are delicious. But the menu is insanely inconsistent to where the employees have no idea what is on it & can sincerely not answer any questions. Wanted to try the happy hour menu but was met with so much uncertainty about products it concerned me. Even about pastries. We ordered many things, including a coconut shrimp slider option, and unfortunately the shrimp was entirely raw and had to be sent back (with another table sending back a plate as well). What seemed like the manager was very kind and served us a new one with an additional pastry. Last week we stopped by after school for a casual get-together. It was around 3:30 p.m., so the place was fairly empty--perfect since we were looking for somewhere quiet. We had the best time catching up. Because we were still full from lunch, we decided to order a charcuterie board and drinks. Everything was light and tasty, and our drinks were especially pretty. I ordered a blueberry lemonade; it was a tad sweet for my taste, and I probably should've asked for less or no sugar--it didn't even occur to me that it would be on the sweeter side. Blueberry matcha - I'm normally more of a fan of strawberry, but this place may convert me. The blueberries were fresh and you could really taste them in the matcha. Got a blueberry pancake combo and the brisket hash. Also upgraded one of the tots to the truffle selection. Food was good! The negatives about this place - you have to come early for good seating. We were here pretty early - 9AM on a Sunday but the booths were packed. We did manage to get inside seating and were slowly waiting for a booth since it's easier to manage our Toddler with one. Some of the patrons were just....sitting there. They were done with their meals and just sat. And they were still there by the time we had finished our meal. Kitchen is a bit slow - it does take a bit to get your food out. Even when the line isn't that long.
