The food is delicious and the lunch specials are an incredible feast that includes an entree (anything Tikka Masala is my favorite), vegetable, appetizer, Basmati rice, and four pieces of delicious naan, all for about $16. My favorite place to eat Korma chicken and other dishes. It is authentic, fresh perfect flavors and the Naan bread flavors are great- I love onion in particular. Table side buffet! Why don't more restaurants do this? The feel of a la carte but, the price of a buffet! They even include a red, white, beer or soda!! My friend and I love The Naan. You pretty much can't go wrong with the menu choices. My favorites are Chicken Tikka Masala, Butter Chicken, and Navratan Korma. The staff here are always friendly and efficient. It's a big restaurant with a huge parking lot but for some reason never packed. I assume that it's mostly a takeout restaurant. I took my son for an early dinner here the other day. I'd been wanting to try it. My favorite standby Indian restaurant let me down the last few visits, so I was hoping to find a new favorite place. A dear friend of mine is a fabulous cook from New Delhi, so I hold Indian restaurants up to the standards she has set for my palette- if it's not as good as Doris's- I'm not likely to return! Decor: very modern and beautiful. Service: extremely attentive and pleasant Food: delicious! Everything was fresh, the servings were generous. We had papads, samosas, lamb vindaloo, vegetable korma, kulfi and fried ice cream. Everything was outstanding. The lamb was tender and of a good quality- not fatty and tough. The vindaloo was spicy but not painfully so- it was very good. The vegetable korma- which is my favorite dish- had all 9 vegetables present as well as the requisite cashews with a creamy, wonderful sauce. And their naan breads are fresh and very good- as they should be given it's their namesake! The kulfi could have been a little thicker- it was somewhat watery with not a lot of rice in it or other goodies- but it had a nice, mild flavor that is always perfect after a spicy meal. My son loved the fried ice cream- it was the size of a large orange and covered in chocolate sauce. Price: it's pricey. The servings were generous and it was very good- but it's not reasonable enough that I would go there often. Maybe for special occasions or as a treat. And it was definitely a treat! read more

Came here the other night because I bought a Groupon for this restaurant. Omg I can't say enough good things about it! The service was great, the food was absolutely delicious! The restaurant itself is just a nice setting. We didn't wanna stop eating! We ordered the Chicken-65 and the Aaloo Tikki Chaat for appetizers- amazing and generous portion sizes. My boyfriend ordered the Chicken Vindaloo for his meal and I got the Chicken Madras. We ordered Chicken Keema Naan also which was very well made. I saw their grand opening sign this past Friday on the way home from work. Only moved in a month ago and it's been a struggle to find ethnic foods in the area. I was craving some spicy curries and naan Saturday morning and couldn't wait for them to open up their weekend lunch buffet. Bf and I were the first to enter and begin our feast. Weekend had a wide variety of veggie and meat selections. Meats included chicken, fish, lamb, etc. They have mini dosas with the usual potato filling. Buffet meal includes 1 naan of your choice. Lots of chutneys and pickled items to test out. I loved the pakoras and fish curry. There was another patron that complained the food was not salted and had no flavor. Bf and I totally disagreed with her. Food was a bit too salty for is bc we were drinking lots of water to compensate. Service was good, though the restaurant wasn't packed so I wonder how they deal with pressure. My delivered order tonight has made me decide to shun all take out forever. Take out orders in my experience have no quality control or care given to them. In spite of the fact that so many of us are trying to support restaurants in this time of COVID. Another complete waste of funds. Chicken wings: tasteless. Pekora: fried in ancient oil. I have heard about their table side weekend brunch that led me to this place, though it is about 50 + miles from my home. We have had table-side unlimited food in a now-closed down Indian restaurant in downtown New Haven and I was expecting somewhat similar standards. Overall, the choices of dishes were very less. I mean, there are a few Indian restaurants in CT that give many more items on weekend buffets for the same price. It's a 3-course meal, starting with an appetizer, main course curry - bread, and dessert. I did not like both the desert options we were provided with ( I have seen better options on other days as per some of the menu photos here in yelp). The main course was ok-ish. Appetizers were good. The guy who seated us and served us was very friendly. I am not sure if I try the place again as it was not worth the long drive from my home. I had a great first experience at The Naan! I came here for lunch with a group of 5 coworkers on a Friday. They have a lunch buffet which we didn't know about in advance but it worked out well because we had two people with us who were newbies to Indian food. It was easier for them to try different things at the buffet instead of ordering off the menu. The Naan was originally recommended to me by someone who couldn't stop raving about their Aloo Gobi (which I still have to come back and try). This wasn't on the buffet menu on this day but they had a different type of cauliflower which was really good too. Overall, the buffet menu was pretty standard stuff and it was safe enough for our new guys to feel ok with it (i.e. Chicken Tikka Masala and the like). If you've read my past reviews on Indian buffets, you'll see I'm pretty picky with them but this one is definitely above average. I think the flavors were great but the spice level is too mild for my taste. They have a little dosa station by the buffet so make sure you get that and also their garlic naan is great! Gulab jamun is a must here for dessert also! They have a really big menu of lots of choices so I definitely recommend checking it out for dinner as well. Something interesting that I noticed in looking at the menu is that they have a lot of vegan options (which is pretty rare considering many Indian dishes contain at least dairy). read more

As you can see from my historical Yelp star rating distribution, I rarely give low starred reviews. I use Yelp to praise and support businesses I love, but The Naan did me wrong tonight and I had high expectations from the numerous five star reviews. We always order the same thing from Indian takeout, and today's order missed hugely for me. 1. Numerous bones in my chicken tikka masala. I think I might have chipped a tooth from chomping into one! Never have I had a thick-sauce-based Indian dish where there were this many bones. It's just sloppy and lazy IMO. I debone dark meat chicken all the time and it's not that hard, and to be so unpleasantly surprised by chomping into a bone in at least 5 different pieces of chicken disgusted me. The spice balance was very off here too. Very salty and overly rich, this dinner left me feeling ill afterwards. 2. No chutneys nor any of the standard Indian cuisine sauces were given with our takeout order. I even requested an extra mint chutney with my Grubhub order and that was ignored. For me, what makes Indian cuisine so great is the ability to layer different flavors on with every bite, and these finishing sauces really complete the meal for me. To not have a single one when Mumbai Times gives you the standard trio of mint, sweet thick brown sauce, and raita made me have severe regrets for giving this place a try for a $45 meal. The naan was also wrapped in cheap foil instead of being kept in those lined white bags that help keep it warm. I appreciate business's that don't skimp on packaging, especially for naan when you are named The Naan! Lesson learned, when it ain't broke don't fix it. Sometimes it doesn't pay off to take a chance on a new, well Yelp reviewed restaurant when you already have a local Indian spot that consistently hits the mark. read more

We just discovered this restaurant last night. The first amazing surprise was that the bar was so well stocked with top shelf brands, including Clase Azul and Casamigos! The second amazing surprise was the delicious dishes we ordered! Don't miss the saag which is made from fresh spinach and cooked down for over 5 hours - most restaurants use canned or frozen spinach - you can taste the difference. Had some take out the other night. Was excellent. A little more expensive than my usual take out place, which isn't the greatest, but the quality was soooo much better. I just wanted the basics, biryani, tikka masala, samosas and stuffed bread. The biryani was excellent, had a good kick. Loved the masala, great sauce. Never had goat cheese naan and will always get it again. Didn't know an order of samosas came with 2 so I had some for lunch the next day. They were huge. When we walked into The Naan for the Saturday lunch buffet we were pleasantly surprised by the variety of food that we were greeted with. We were also greeted by a helpful/attentive staff. Being experienced with Indian cuisine we dove right in! There was a nice variety of both vegetarian and non-vegetarian. The mixed grill was moist and not overcooked or dried out, the lamb curry was too good not to pass up, and the desserts were freshly made. We both over ate because it was too good not to attempt to try every single thing in the buffet! Their "ginger brew" signature drink is also a nice refreshing drink. While we were sitting there eating, new patrons came to eat who may have never eaten Indian food before and wanted to try the new restaurant. The owner and the staff were happy to explain each item.
