The naked olive is BYOB, and the selection at the liquor store next door is sad, so if you'd like a nice bottle of wine to go with dinner, don't expect to find it next door. However, the food was wonderful! The restaurant is jumpin' and for good reason. But the staff handle the volume expertly. Fresh seafood a plenty, olives everywhere. A foodies dream. There are less adventurous dishes for those not quite ready to try grilled octopus or sea bass. (Though those are both PHENOMENAL options) Everything was wonderful, though I was disappointed that my broccolini and carrots weren't seasoned at all under my sea bass, just blanched, not even the extra lemon on the plate could bring them to life. Everything is light, bright, and fresh like you want your Mediterranean food to be. We dined at the Naked Olive this past weekend and enjoyed our dinner for the most part. I think with a few tweaks to the food it could be a fabulous place but I'll get to that later. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated and we were promptly seated by the hostess. The environs were great and worthy of five stars. Our server, Britney, could not have been better. She (or maybe the octopus but it's honestly hard to compare the two) was the best part of our dinner. Britney was super friendly and quick to refill our drinks. She was one of the most outgoing, happy servers we've ever had. Another five stars for the service. Our meal started off with some complimentary bread and olive oil which was good enough. Maybe they could make the olive oil a bit spicier but either way it was no biggie. We started off with the octopus shareable which was one of the best octopi we've ever had and we eat lots and lots of it. It was that good. It was tender, perfectly cooked, and served atop a delicious lemony sauce that really complemented it. To the side of it were some greens and something that looked and tasted like guacamole which was good enough but seemed like an odd compliment. We also enjoyed the lamb lollipops which were served with tsatziki sauce. They were juicy, charcoaley, perfectly cooked, and had we stopped here we would have had the perfect meal. The shareables were five stars to me. Our entrees, while not technically bad, we're much, much less of a success. I had the whole (well it was missing the head) branzino that was kind of meh. As much as I love fish I was underwhelmed by the dish except for the crispy skin. The fish itself was slightly overcooked, more than slightly over salted, and served atop a bland, tasteless rice pilaf and undercooked broccolini. I would not order it again. Our other entree, the short rib, was slightly better but i don't think I'd order it again either. It featured two generous portions of slightly dry, over salted beef atop a mound of average tasting mashed potatoes, steamed asparagus that were devoid of any flavor whatsoever, and a decent sauce. It was palatable but disappointing. I'd give three stars to the entrees. My advice to the friendly owner who stopped by our table at the end of the meal would be to have the chef be much less heavy handed with salt, and to retool the entrees so they feature better sides and incorporate things that are in season. And then you'd have a perfect place with perfect food to match the perfect service. read more

Excellent food, excellent service. My wife and I have been here twice, and plan to stop by whenever we go to the nearby Longwood Gardens. Both times we came in around 8PM and didn't wait long for a seat. Service was awesome. Super friendly and helpful. The first time we came back in August they were out of whatever dish I originally ordered so our waiter suggested the Sachetti. I'm not usually one for sweeter flavors like pear in my meals, but this was really really good. Their pesto gnocchi was exactly what we were looking for - not exactly ultra-fancy but the perfect guilty pleasure pesto-creaminess we wanted. Same with the shrimp/mushroom cavatappi. This place does not take reservations and seems super popular Judging by the amount of people waiting to be seated on a Friday night. When putting my name in with the hostess it took over an hour to be called when the predicted time was 30 min. The good part is that it is BYOB. The table bread may have been my favorite part with infused oil. The brussels sprouts were good but a little too much cheese. The beef was okay but the potatoes had zero flavor. The pasta was pretty average and a tad dry. The spice range for it was between a 1 and 10 which was rather large. I chose a five and it was not spicy at all. Went to Longwood gardens today in Kennett Square PA. Stopped here for lunch. I sure wish it were not 2 hours from home! The hostess ( who was one of the owners) was soooo nice! Greeted us with a Big smile & friendly hello! The food was delicious! We were brought a plate of crusty warm bread with seasoned olive oil & olives ! Just Wow! The waiter was friendly, professional & just looked like a nice young guy! My sister in law & I shared the mezze platter & I had to pack my mushroom melt to take home, & she packed 1/2 her Calabrian Sammie . LOL! The creamy hummus, tzatziki, stuffed grape leaves , roasted red peppers, mixed olives , feta cheese, toasted pita on the platter were all just scrumptious! Some of the best grape leaves I had in ages. I mixed a little tzatziki with a few of the olives , yummy! . My sister in law said her Sammie was just delish! It was breaded eggplant, mozzarella, red peppers, whipped ricotta. The fries were super good too! We finished with cappuccino ( faboo) and Baklava. First time a ordered baklava that wasn't made with walnuts , which are cheaper to use, , but made with pistachio. As it should be. ( I knew I wanted dessert , that's why I packed my sandwich) the booth was spacious & the decor was beautiful! Oh, my husband ate my sandwich when I got home. He moaned as he ate it haha! For clarification, my earlier review was not written about one experience. This decline in food/service took place over the course of about a year. We had enjoyed Naked Olive for some time and kept giving it more chances. It WAS during cold weather that we were not given the heater as we requested. Perhaps your tomatoes were not kept in the freezer, but they were certainly stored at a very cold refrigeration setting (equally bad). A server/assistant manager who had worked there for quite some time and we had come to know well DID tell me the wrap was not good. I really do not appreciate the implication that I am a liar. Denying a customers recount of their experience or blaming them for misunderstanding something or that's it just "not to their liking" is rude, unprofessional and bad business practice. This review was written to make you aware of issues taking place and give you the opportunity to make corrections. Stopped in this morning for Sunday brunch with my family and we absolutely LOVED it! Everything was perfect. Even the warm bread at the table was great. From the moment we stepped in I really liked the decor. The place is spacious, super clean, cute with little homey-signs on the wall with a Mediterranean vibe. I originally was going to get lunch but saw the special brunch menu and was intrigued. My Eggs Benedict with candied bacon was on point, the english muffin was more bread like, crispy and super filling. My son's pancakes were light and sweet with a buttery cream and thin maple syrup. My husband loved his steak and eggs. We were also blown away by the freshness and flavor of the grilled octopus, the best we've had around. Service was super friendly and we felt welcomed. I had brunch today and it was awful. I ordered Croque Madame. Eggs over easy with and Moran sauce (described by waitress as cheese sauce) and Brie cheese and toast. I could not even eat the eggs--I suspect it was the Moran sauce. I saw one piece of Brie cheese and I left 75% and ate the fruit (which was good). The waitress (young and inexperienced) did not ask if I liked it. Probably she did not need to since I left most of it, but she should have. The spanakopita was great and my daughter's eggplant sandwich was good, although she had an upset stomach all afternoon. All-in-all, very disappointing. read more

The Greek salad is one of the best around. It's robust and full of tomatoes and onions and peppers and olives. The eggplant sandwich medley is amazing and worth buying. My husband and I ate here a few weeks ago and had a lovely dinner. We were seated right away. It's a BYOB - can't remember if there was a corkage fee but if there was one it was negligible. Just so you know, I eat at odd hours. We stopped here at 3:30 on a Friday afternoon. There were a few tables, but we practically had the place to ourselves. That's when the servers can get lax or spoil us. We got the latter. Bread and a plate of olive oil with assorted olives arrived shortly after we were seated. Drinks followed. FYI, BYOB. Celebrating my friend's birthday but neglected to alert the staff. Entrees arrived at lightning speed. Four seasons salad for me, with salmon for her and chicken Alfredo for our chauffeur, bodyguard and all around sweetheart. Totally enjoyed. Then when we ordered dessert. Their online menu was the deciding factor in our choice. The birthday girl had the lemon mousse cake, the grumpy lemon hating chauffeur had the citrus crème brûlée and loved it. I had the chocolate mousse cake with a skewer of three toasted marshmallows. Home runs all around. Sorry for the lack of photos . Sometimes life is better without the interruption. (This review is based on my family members recent 1st visit) When they got there, they were told seating for 4 was available now, but, only for 1 1/2 hrs? What?? Ok, the decor was very nice & pleasant, but it was packed. There was a lot of "young looking" wait staff, and the waitress was not very attentive. Everything on menu looked amazing, so they started out with Roasted Brussel sprouts w/bacon. It came served without a trace of bacon or anything looking like bacon with very poor presentation & nothing special. They also ordered Steak Frites. The steak was ordered med-rare, it was well done & was poorly sliced. About an inch thick! ....not how this dish is supposed to be made/served. I was a little disappointed when we came to town to meet with friends and they chose this place. I am originally from Delco, but moved to Georgia, so when I come back to the area, there a specific foods and places I want to eat. I started out having a hard time choosing what to order because so many things sounded wonderful. I ended up ordering Kennett Square mushroom melt and that was an amazing sandwich, and my husband and son both got the French onion patty melt and both loved it. Our friends got rustic cavatapi (I almost got), and burgers. We also got the calamari and fried mozzarella. We were disappointed with those 2 items, but the star of everything was the bread, oil with spices, and olives they served with the meal! The lemon mousse cake was light and amazingly delicious. Had a great lunch here at the Naked Olive. The first thing that kind of took me back was the space itself. Fun & relaxing vibe. Good music, mediterranean art and pictures all along the walls, and a ton of natural light beaming in. The service was really friendly as well, super informative with the menu. Their food was good - nothing to fancy or over the top, just healthy/filling food done right. I particularly enjoyed their Fig & Prosciutto flatbread. Super crispy, and the perfect balances of sweet and salty. It was a nice portion too - easy to split between 4 people. I also had their castilla burger, which seemed like a staple on their menu. The cilantro and chipotle aioli sold me, but it had different notes of fresh herbs and spices that made it more memorable than just your regular old burger. A nice touch, their bun was branded with their logo - that was pretty cool. If you are in the area, would recommend stopping in for sure! read more

This is our go to spot for lunch and dinner. We have never had a bad meal and the service is always terrific. Management keeps an eye on everything so before you may notice your server is a few mins late coming back, a manager is over with you filling in.
