    Quiche

A cozy small-town bakery that made for a great post-hike pit stop en route back to Seattle -- we stopped by later in the afternoon, so the cookie was hard since it was out in the display case. The quiche was a surprising hit, especially with a dash of hot sauce. The hot chocolate was skippable, just a run-of-the-mill Swiss Miss.

They have a wonderful selection of pastries, breads, and sandwiches. We went late in the morning so they only had cookies and baked goods left, not very many donuts. We lucked out and got a couple of apple fritters, which were excellent by the way! We also got some brownie bites, an almond bar, a chocolate chip cookie, and a croissant. For 6 things we spent $30 and some change. My favorite thing was the almond bar. It is extremely big and thick. It's also very dense, but amazing. If you love almond croissants this bar is for you. It's buttery, almonds, and flaky. So good. The brownie bites taste like something I'd make at home from boxed brownie mix and bagged cookie dough mix. I don't recommend that. However, everything else was fabulous. I'd like to try their sandwiches and breakfast burritos next time.

A fun place with very good treats and a simple beverage menu. My wife described their treats as something you'd find at a nice local bakery sale and I think that's perfect. We got a hot latte and London fog to drink both were good and what you'd expect. We also got a coconut macron and some sort of peanut butter treat and they were yummy very chocolatey and sweet. Not an upscale coffee spot to be sure but they know what they're doing and make good stuff they had TONS of baked goods and they all looked delicious. Good seating and options for a lunch spit too it seemed and the staff was happy to explain what their different pastries were.

We enjoyed our breakfast here at The North Bend Bakery but the down side is that they got our order wrong and didn't bring out part of our order. They had to be reminded after helping about 10 customers. The inside is nice and right on main street for North Bend.

THE NORTH BENDER ($8.50) Roast Beef, Turkey, Pepperjack, Provolone, Red Onions, Tomatoes, and Horseradish Mayo on Focaccia. Get it toasted!

This is a small bakery located in the downtown area. The decor is zero frills but service was quick and you can grab and go your food selections in no time. My wife and I grabbed a couple of sandwiches, a pastry, and a coffee and our total came out to just over $20. Not too bad. The Turkey pesto sandwich (THE MT. SI PANINI) consists of Turkey, Provolone, Sun Dried Tomatoes, Red Onion, Arugula and Pesto on a Focaccia bread. It was good but it was a bit dry. The thickness of the bread overwhelmed the meager amount of pesto and turkey in the sandwich. The NORTH BENDER is made with both Roast Beef and Turkey, Pepperjack, Provolone, Red Onions, Tomatoes, and Horseradish Mayo on a Focaccia bread. I recommend you get it toasted. It was much better than the other sandwich and I'd get it again without hesitation. The Lemon Cobbler Bar was good but the lemon flavor was subtle. It was more sugar and butter than anything else. If you like your pastries on the super sweet side, this one is for you! Otherwise, pass.

    Peanut Butter Trifle.

Bought a sticky toffee pudding and a peanut butter trifle. $12 total for both. Haven't tried them yet but they look good.

Super slow service always. No matter if you're the only one there or if the lines out the door, which it often times is.

The chicken had a fantastic mesquite seasoning, paired perfectly with a pickled jalapeño aioli that added just the right balance of heat and tang. The bun was fresh and held everything together without getting soggy, which made the whole sandwich even better. I went with the mac and cheese bowl, and it was pure comfort food done right. The rich, creamy cheese sauce over large shell noodles was excellent on its own, but adding brisket took it to another level. The cornbread crumbles and potato chips added great texture, and a drizzle of Buckshot Honey BBQ sauce tied everything together. Every bite was loaded with flavor. What really stood out was the owner working behind the bar. He was attentive, friendly, and genuinely engaged with guests, constantly checking in and making conversation. You can tell he takes real pride in his restaurant, and it shows in both the food and the atmosphere. Highly recommend Buckshot Honey. We're already looking forward to coming back and working our way through the rest of the menu. And hopefully that chicken sandwich special makes its way onto the regular menu soon.

The coolest thing about this spot seems to be their rotating specials year round! The lucky charms cold foam my book bestie described from their last year's St. Patrick's day menu sounded drool-worthy. I was super excited to try their Valentine's day offerings. The woman at the counter who took my order was so sweet. She helped me put together the perfect custom drink for me: a 16 oz oat milk dark chocolate mocha with raspberry syrup and raspberry cold foam on top! It was delicious, I loved how fluffy and sweet the cold foam was and the dark chocolate in the mocha was delectably rich. I was also super excited about their diverse pastry selection! I've never seen a raspberry cornetto before and I was super excited to order it. I loved that it was literally like having a croissant with jam which is one of my fave breakfasts! One of my pet peeves is when croissants are too flaky and hard to tear apart with your fingers, but this one was super easy to tear apart and eat, though it still was fairly messy. The cosy atmosphere made it easy for me and my book bestie to spend hours chatting over our drinks. I love the huge windows that allow for so much natural light an incredible view of Mount Sci. I'd definitely love to come back with my watercolours and paint it. Since this is my book bestie's fave coffee shop spot, I'm sure we'll be back here soon! There is a huge amount of indoor and outdoor seating; it was a place where you could both be there to read/study or to catch up with friends.
