By far one of the best bagels I have ever had! I ordered the egg bagel with lox spread my first time here and had to bring my hubby and boys back the next day it was SOO GOOOD! Hubby ordered the Lox and Works and said it was good, but that they actually gave too much lox, which is unusual for him. (He figures they are losing money on it and could save if they slimmed down the amount they gave.) I used some of his lox on my garlic bagel but was slightly disappointed that the garlic bagel had too much garlic on it, which, when toasted got burned. I love garlic and would've thought garlic would have been in the bagel also not only only on the top. I do think it's a little on the pricey side, but it's local so will support it. All in all, I know I'll go again since it's close to my work and may have to give the glacier a try since others have raved about it. read more

Had my first experience this morning at Nosh Cafe. Early breakfast on the patio. They had just opened for the day, my breakfast was excellent, coffee tasty, my only knock was they don't seem to give new customers a run down on how service works. Nobody told me you get your own coffee, I ordered at the counter and waited outside for my breakfast. When it was delivered I asked if I could get a set up and was told it's all right behind you, pointed it out and walked away. And I sat waiting for a coffee refill and finally walked in and asked how much for a refill, it's free she responded. Well, that's NOT attentive customer service. It seems to be a solid neighborhood place and I'm sure the regulars know the routine, but I'd suggest the owners teach staff to inquire if it's the customers first time in and give them a pleasant run down on how it all works. I'm in town from Denver visiting. I tried out the Nosh Cafe for breakfast and absolutely loved it! It was pretty busy, but food came out timely, the restaurant was super clean, and the staff was very friendly. But most importantly, the food was soo good! I had the South Mountain burro and French Toast. It was perfect! The bread for the french toast was soo thick and soft. The breakfast burrito was very flavorful!! I will definitely be coming back!! So this place used to be decent but in the past month it should be featured in an episode of "Kitchen Nightmares." Went in there about 3 weeks ago, and saw this mean woman, who I believe is the owner of this place, yelling at one of her young workers in front of all their customers. Get a grip of yourself lady, and be professional business owner. You thought you were being a proper boss? Nope you were just making yourself look like a clown in front of your values customers! Anyway, I thought I might give the place another try recently and ordered a bagel sandwich and a biscuits and gravy to go. When I got back home and opened up my breakfast, there was a strand of longer black hair stuck to the cheese of my egg bagel sandwich! Ewww. I almost dry heaved before I even had a bite! The biscuits and gravy on the other hand, was not good at all. It smelled funky, the gravy was greenish color and the biscuits tasted a little moldy. Into the trash bin they went! 4 stars Ahwatukee? No way. This was my first visit (and subsequently my last). I've read the reviews and have seen the traffic on weekends. It must be pretty good if it's busy everytime I go by. It started off ok. I received a friendly greeting and the ordering process was quick and easy. Then the wait began. How long would you expect to wait for a BEC bagel sandwich? I know it's Sunday and it's busy, but, this isn't their first month of operation so they must have a system to prepare orders efficiently right? 5 minutes go by. No big deal. After 10 minutes, I begin to observe the operation. The kitchen is processing plates at least twice as fast as the sandwich line. Now, 15 minutes have elapsed. It's just a bagel sandwich. Oh no. I just spotted the microwaves. I'm waiting 20 minutes now for a sandwich with microwaved eggs and bacon!! Gross. Maybe the bagel will be epic and it will be good enough to compel me to return one day. Nope. The bagel wasn't very good either. I'm from the east coast and have had some really good and some really bad bagels in my time. My Nosh bagel was average at best. 28 minutes after placing an order for a microwave bagel sandwich my name was called out and away I went. My first bite and all I could taste was the overcooked microwave egg. Nasty. I certainly wish you well Nosh and hopefully you find a way to accelerate the flow of your microwave sandwiches. read more

I don't get it. We wanted to love this place, but I just can't. We waited in line for 30 minutes to order, and it was busy so we accepted that, but there were a lot of staff in the back and it seemed chaotic. We ordered finally and they ring in the order on one tab and then the girl typed in the total on the square and ended up over charging me. They gave me back cash to fix it once I realized what happened. You can watch them pour the "eggs" from a pitcher and cook them in the microwave. I got a bagel, egg and cheese sandwich, boyfriend got a chorizo burrito. My eggs were brownish green. The bagel was alright. The burrito was okay, chorizo was hard to find there. And A large cold brew is $5 which is a bit much. Overall it was pretty awful, which is a bummer. read more

We have been going here for quite sometime now. Service is usually decent. Food is always made to order. However there's recently been a shift. Went this past weekend, husband ordered a breakfast quesadilla, my daughter and I both ordered a bagel breakfast sandwich. Husband's food came out within 10 mins. He finished his food and we went and checked on ours. Said they were still making it. Ok fine. They had a consistent line. 37 mins later, THIRTY SEVEN, yes, we get up to ask again if our food is going to be ready soon. It finally comes out. I'm sorry but a bagel sandwich shouldn't take 47 mins. Not when we see tables around us getting food before us and they sat after us. Not to mention, our table plus 3 other tables around us said their food order was wrong! And because they were "busy", everyone opted to just keep whatever they got, as did we. It's too expensive to eat out anymore. Your order should be right and the workers who were running the food just shrugged their shoulders and said ok instead of trying to make it right. They clearly need more training. And yes, everyone is "short staffed" but not here. I saw they had plenty of help! Tons of people behind the counter and in the back. They need to work to train their employees. Orders are wrong left and right and a bagel sandwich taking almost 50 mins. is a bit excessive. Happy a small business is thriving but c'mon. I was in the mood for pancakes so I decided to stop in. This is a bagel shop but the great thing is you can get a full breakfast. I ordered the pancakes and potatoes (see pictures). The pancakes were really good. They taste like a higher quality McDonald's pancakes. The potatoes were fresh and hot and the did not skimp on the portions. You can purchase a single pancake if you'd like, so keep in mind they are huge. Make sure you ask for an extra syrup as well. Great breakfast and lunch joint. The apple smoked chicken sausage scramble and the sausage, mushroom and tomato scramble are two of my faves. After one bite, it's hard to go back to having plain old oatmeal or sucky cereal at home. Unless it's Cap'n Crunch of course. There's other tasty options here including fresh bagels, scratch made buttermilk pancakes with pecan butter, breakfast burros, salads, and sandwiches - if you aren't feeling so eggy. And their portions are quite big, so do come hungry! The people who work here are very friendly and helpful. My first visit, I had no idea what to order because their menu is a smorgasbord of splendid. They gave me great recommendations - the scrambles and omelettes, and it made me want to come back as a result. They also work hard to make sure your dining experience isn't weak sauce. Also, The Nosh Cafe is a nice, free wi-fi zone, so don't forget to bring your laptop or touchpad with you and get some actual work or budgeting done. Or better yet...scroll endlessly through your facebook feed and compare yourself to all your successful and not-so-successful friends from high school. All while scarfing down bacon and eggs. That should bring the feels. Since I normally work from home, it's great to get a change of scenery. Especially when it's a restaurant where one can destroy a delicious omelette or scramble and not feel so bad afterwards - like when eating at a breakfast joint that rhymes with Benny's. 1. There is a really weird vibe in there. Everyone seems WAY too stressed out to be working in a bagel shop. It's a bagel shop. Relax. Today I saw the older guy (Manager?) yelling at the employees like they were children. Twice actually in the 45 or so minutes I was there. Incredibly condescending. I wouldn't be able to put up with that. No one deserves to be embarrassed like that, and it's very uncomfortable for patrons. If there is a problem, pull them aside and talk about it. Don't yell at them behind the counter. (Maybe that's why everyone looks so stressed out?) 2. They are ALWAYS out of something. At least one flavor of cream cheese, and almost always multiple bagel flavors. Being a busy place, maybe make extra for the weekends? 3. I usually only go there on weekends, so I'm not sure how it is on other days, but a line to the door is pretty much a constant, so if you aren't a patient person, skip this place. I ordered a strawberry smoothie that tasted watered down. My fiance's country omelet plate had a hair in his food. My steak and eggs plate was ok except the potatoes were WAAAAAY TOO SALTY. They had a help wanted sign up and I can see why. Nosh is a nice local place that makes a tasty bagel, so we thought we were in for a pleasant lunch by stopping at this old favorite. We were very disappointed. Ordered a bagel sandwich and a toasted bagel to go. It was pretty busy so we expected some wait, but started getting concerned when we saw the people who ordered before us finish their food before we even got ours. About 25 minutes. I went up to the counter to see where they were on our order. They had our tickets still with the bagel done. They said the sandwich was being worked on and they would bring it out. So I thought to myself, only one more minute. Nope, 10 more minutes passed. I go up see what they are doing. They said they were still working on it. The bagel for my wife was now getting cold so I bring that back so she could eat something. I then went back and watched one girl behind the counter pealing cheese slices, while the other girl watched. I'm hoping this was just a bad day, because these girls moved slow. I've done food service. A sandwich takes one minute to make. A bagel the same. We should have received our food within 5 minutes if them starting the order. Wouldn't it be a great customer experience to start and complete an order in a timely fashion? Then bring the food out all at once before it gets cold. When you go to a place and order two bagel sandwiches (it's not busy and takes 25 minutes to get your 'to go' order). You get home and they made one of your sandwiches with 'sliced white bread'. I came in for the first time today. It was a quick ordering process. Bagels are good however the salmon when you order the lox is super salty. I I had to remind the waitress that I ordered a cappuccino and it was awful sadly. So it looks like there seems to be a theme recently with people having to wait ~40 minutes for their food while watching others get theirs. It sucks but I'll have to be another person to report that this has happened to. I get that things get backed up or something goes wrong. It's natural and I've been in food service long enough to not complain about waiting a bit longer than usual, but 40 minutes for an omelette seems a bit ridiculous.
