Ew. I wish i read reviews before eating here. Like every single other place on CSULB's campus, this place sucked. I was so extremely disappointed. I ordered the pesto pizza, and spicy cauliflower. The line was long and slow. They only had 1 cashier during lunch rush around noon. Although it is the beginning of the semester so this place is bound to be crowded. The interior has nice brick walls and a projector tv that was playing a football game. The prices are reasonable here. It was about $10 for a cheeseburger combo. I got a cheeseburger combo with regular fries and a Dr. pepper to go. I got in line around 12:20pm made it through the line at around 1pm, received food at 1:10pm. So it wasn't too bad. They seemed short staffed which is why the wait and line was long. As for my food, the fries were thick but still crispy. My cheeseburger was tasty and the veggies were fresh. When I get hungry my standards are pretty low but lord was this pizza horrendous. Was ordering a pizza and expecting something remotely circular but wasn't even close. Man the food here is AWESOME. Love the pizza, the beer was cold, fresh and on tap, the bacon cheeseburger was gigantic and tasted delicious. My wife ordered the BLT, which came out perfectly. The fries were really hot, and we had to wait a couple of minutes for them to cool down. The bar can get really hectic at times, but that's to be expected at such a large university as Cal State Long Beach. The staff here is really nice and I love the vibe here. The location is set up where one entire side is the seating area for students/guest to work on assignments, study or relax and play some pool or watch a sports game. The other end offers both food and alcohol (beer,wine, mixed drinks). The food line is closer to the register and the alcohol line is on the other side of the food line but closer to the bar counter. (they have basic knowledge of mixed drinks) The menu Varies depending on the time of day, in the morning they offer breakfast items (french toast sticks, omelets, breakfast burritos, breakfast sandwiches) and during the rest of the day (hamburgers, sandwiches, chicken strips, quesadillas, etc). The soda fountain are Coca Cola products and Minute Maid juices (fruit punch, pineapple juice, apple juice). Only a few areas against the walls offer power outlets. The Nugget is like home. I have been coming here since 2011 and can honestly say I always have a good experience, with the food, environment, music. The food is super yummy I mainly go for breakfast my go-to is the skinny burrito which has egg whites, spinach, tater tots and tomatoes. They are always willing to substitute the tomatoes with bell peppers, so that's a plus. The burrito is like $4 and great size. My second favorite is the Sunrise scramble best breakfast bowl ever. Its $5.69 and filled with turkey sausage, cheese, tater tots, spinach and tomatoes, its a steal. Chicken tenders are such a good size super crispy and the seasoned fries is a must. Never been disappointed by the food here. Now that they have Tapingo its even better. The staff are very friendly and efficient. It's definitely a great place to stop in before, between, and after classes to grab a beer and work on homework or hang with friends. The best option for on campus food at CSULB! If you're on break between classes or just need a spot to grab food or drinks on campus, this is your spot. I love their signature Pub Burger. It's a 1/2 pound burger with cheddar cheese, fried jalapenos, and your normal burger ingredients. It's juicy and filling. Make it a combo to get their seasoned fries as well. These fries are thicker cut, well-seasoned, and delicious as well. Their breakfast items are available and served all day so that's convenient. After 11am, their full menu of burgers, sandwiches, salads, and appetizers open up. I believe they have a few vegetarian options too. They serve beer here as well which is a sweet deal for the 21+ crowd! The beers are usually around $5 so it's pretty cheap. The ambience here is whatever. It's basically made up of a bunch of bricks on the inside and can feel pretty dim to be honest. I like that they have a giant projector here that is usually running a sports game or sports related channel. When that's not in use, they pull the projector up and it is turned into a stage for bands to play at. All in all, this a good place to hang out with your friends and grab some grub and beers! Ahhh the Nugget! The Nugget is why I gained 15 pounds as an undergrad at CSULB! The Nugget was our regular hang out. If you had a break in between classes you would head for the nugget and sure enough there would be someone you knew who also had a break. The bad part about all this was when more of your friends showed up and you realized you preferred to sit around with them instead of going to class. The Nugget is where we would eat almost every day! Sometimes twice a day! Breakfast and Lunch and let me tell you... we never went for healthy items... we were all about the Guacamole Bacon Cheeseburgers with Fries and Ranch, the Pizza, the Fried Chicken salads, the Grilled Cheese sandwiches with bacon and ranch and let's not forget the BEER! Ya... FAT, FAT, FAT! I remember the nugget before it got remodeled. It was pretty plain and simple back then, but then my senior year they revamped it and swanked it up. It looks way nicer and they added some comfy sofa chairs in the pool table/video game area. The Nugget also has big screen tv's, they play music and have tables, booths and an outdoor patio. I feel like this place always comes in clutch because of its convenience on campus, it's variety of food, it's alcoholic beverages, and that we can order on our phones prior to arriving. I absolutely love their breakfast burritos (with the bomb salsa they provide). The tater-tots being inside makes it sooo good. Everything about them makes me happy, and many of my friends would agree. I am also a fan of their cajun fries mmmmmm. I feel like the workers here are always friendly and the place stays fairly clean. Just recently during finals week I ordered two margaritas which tasted super good. I think in general, the alcohol prices are a bit on the high side considering we are all college students. I have been to bars in other places of Long Beach with cheaper alcohol, but I guess you are paying for convenience. I usually don't order beer, because it seems pricey and the beer cups aren't as big as other places. Food prices are average and as mentioned, mostly taste good so definitely order here if you are on campus! This is located inside CSU Long Beach. We came here for the Jack Howe Memorial Speech & Debate Tournament, so the pub had special hours for this weekend. The folks at the register were very friendly, and efficient, especially when the lines were always full. We ordered the CHICKEN TENDERS and CHEESE BITES for just under $10. The nugget is hands down the best place to get some real quality food on campus. The majority of the food in the nugget is under 10 dollars so it is not a bad price for food. There is also no tax for students so that's a huge plus . It's location is very convenient as it is located right next to the bookstore , which is like a halfway point between upper and lower campus. The great thing about the nugget and that makes it better than the outpost is that a lot of their items are served all day, including some breakfast items too. Ambiance: the nugget is usually crowded because it is a very chill place to just come out , get food and hangout with your friends. There are certain hours it gets packed and that would be around 10 am-3pm. It would be pretty difficult to find a table inside , but there are always table outside where you can still hangout. Only down side to the outside tables is that you can't have alcohol outside. The beers here are around 5-8 dollars and are served on a plastic cup. The quality of the beer is phenomenal. You can smell the beer a few tables away from you and that alone just tempts you to go buy a cold refreshening beer to quench your thirst: Now to the food . I haven't had every item on the menu at the nugget, but my favorite ones are the L.B burrito , BBQ chicken quesadillas , Pete's BBQ , and onion rings. The biggest bang for your buck in my opinion is the BBQ chicken quesadillas which comes with 4 deliciously made quesadillas for the price of 4.89 It comes with chicken beans cheese and corn wrapped in a tortilla with BBQ sauce on top. The chicken tastes great as you can tell that it is fresh once you take a bite of it. The corn is similar in the way that you can taste the juice that comes out of the corn in the first bite. Overall, the chicken quesadilla is really well made and it would get you full for just 4.89. In my opinion the best tasting item would be the L.B because it tastes amazing with the salsa and chipotle sauce , which makes it my personal favorite and recommendation to you guys if you ever decide to stop by the nugget. P.S there is no nutrition facts for any of the items in the nugget so eat accordingly and if you workout then eat cautiously The nugget should really make a nutrition chart for their foods. A couple tables were open so that was nice. I got in the short line and waited patiently until i was called up to order. I got the Turkey Cranberry sandwich by itself because i already had some water. They offered a combo, but i did not want fries. Since i did not get the combo i was charged no tax because i was a student. So the total came out to be $4. I also wanted to take it to go so i could go eat with my friend at the USU. It was a little busy so there was a short wait for my sandwich. It came up and i think they made it for here. I thought they would put it in a take out box or something. So when i they called my number i went up to get it and asked for a take out box. Apparently they do not have take out boxes so they gave me a plastic bag to put it in....
