When we walked in, the restaurant was just starting to get busier and the staff seemed slightly unprepared for an influx of guests at that time. We stood at the door for a bit, unsure whether we were supposed to be seated, seat ourselves, or order at the counter first. If you are dining in, then they will provide table service. Once seated, we quickly decided what we wanted to order. My friend was excited to try their Turkish coffee and I was looking forward to trying their Turkish breakfast that I had heard great things about. If you love a good snack plate and enjoy nibbling on a variety of cheese, bread, fruits, veggies, etc. then the Turkish breakfast will be right up your alley. The Turkish breakfast includes cucumbers, tomatoes, bell peppers, a cheese plate with avocado and a fried egg, tahini and molasses, jam, Nutella, local honey, fresh fruit, apricot and walnuts, olives, zahter, ezme, butter, and kaymak. It was enough food for my husband & me to share. It's also served with one glass of Turkish tea and a basket sourdough bread. They're obviously known for their fresh baked sourdough bread and it did not disappoint. I can see why their bread is so popular and it was nearly already sold out for the day. While everyone we encountered was very friendly, the service was a little spotty, and no one ever came back to check on us once the food came. They forgot to bring the tea and Turkish coffee for my friend. Once we walked up to the counter to remind them, they brought it very quickly. No one ever came with the check, so we ended up paying at the counter. Not sure if that's the normal process, but it was unclear. Overall, we did enjoy it, but maybe it was just an off day from a service stand point.

Our server was Emily I believe she was so sweet and we will be asking for her when we go back. The restaurant was very cute and cozy. It reminded of a nicer version of Luke's diner from Gilmore Girls. lol Also while we were there we were blessed by one of the managers who paid for our meal, we are very grateful, but we were too nervous to say thank you in person to him so hopefully he reads this. Thank you so much! It was a beautiful diner! My husband had the Philly cheese steak sandwich, he loved it. I had the steak tips with mashed potatoes, gravy and green beans. It was delicious!!! Today, however, was especially memorable thanks to an amazing young lady who served us. Her name was Heaven, and the name truly fits her perfectly. She provided exceptional service and had such a natural and thoughtful way of communicating with guests. She was warm, friendly, and incredibly easy to connect with, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Her parents must be very proud of her--she is truly remarkable. We pray that she continues to be a blessing to the people God places in her path. And Peach Valley deserves recognition as well for making such a great hire.

The hostess and our server were very pleasant and attentive. Refills were abundant, which I like. I hate it when you wait forever for a second cup of coffee. The food was hot and fresh, and the menu clearly defined which items were gluten-free and vegetarian. The Greek omelet was excellent, with a good proportion of feta cheese. The home fries, not so much. They were greasy and sort of tasteless. The atmosphere is sort of a glorified hall. The ceilings are very high, no carpeting on the floor, so sound bounced everywhere. Decor was meh. Bathroom was very clean. Overall, a really good experience. It's only open for breakfast and lunch, but would be a good option whether for a quick meal or a larger celebration such as a birthday.

On my first visit, I ordered the Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal Pancakes with link sausages and a glass of orange juice. The pancakes were delicious, the sausages hit the spot, and the orange juice was... well, you know... orange juice. It did its job! The atmosphere reminded me of a classic country diner--cozy, welcoming, and filled with an older crowd, which I honestly prefer. One thing I really appreciated was being able to seat myself. That's always a plus in my book. Sometimes being escorted to a table means ending up in that one awkward corner nobody wants... but I digress. Overall, I had a great experience and would happily come back. My significant other, however, wasn't nearly as impressed. Oh well--you win some, you lose some! Sometimes breakfast is just a pancake split decision.

Diners are a…read morecompletely American thing that started in America as a mobile eatery and has transformed into what it is now, which are stationary eateries that feature affordable, filling food that appeals to the blue collar man. Fun fact, diners were started in New England region of America in the 1850s. All this to say, I love a good diner. I mean the American diner has always been there for middle America. The closest one to me and honestly it's definitely hidden away is the Maitland Breakfast Club. It's pretty much situated on the boundary line of where the City of Altamonte Springs starts. They have large space that's casual and what you would expect for a diner. Anyone can walk in wearing their Sunday best to pajamas. The waitresses are very welcoming and exactly the kind of person I would expect to invite me into a diner. We had gone on a Saturday afternoon and they're not a diner that's open late, so more of a breakfast diner really. Now I got the eggs Benedict with bacon and hash browns. For me, there are three breakfast staples I believe all amazing must revisit breakfast places should have. A good cup of warm regular coffee, eggs Benedict, and good crispy hash browns. I mean some places have other things like lattes and hash brown bowls, and I'm not saying those aren't good. However, when you nail the basics, you can do anything else. The hollandaise sauce was great and didn't split and bacon was crispy. The hash browns were super crispy, which I loved, and I could tell it had been made on a flat top grill, which is another very classic American restaurant kitchen appliance. The cup of coffee was good, I mean they had the sugar packets and the creamers right there. Overall, I would rate it a 9/10 and it set us back about $15 for just my portion. I will be back (said menacingly), Maitland Breakfast Club.

This time of year is one of my favorites because so many places offer watermelon drinks, and they're always a refreshing way to cool off and hydrate. I decided to try the Watermelon Wake-Up, made with watermelon, pineapple, lime, and mint. The first thing I noticed was that the cup wasn't filled very much. There was a noticeable amount of space at the top, and for the price, I expected the drink to at least be filled to the top. Once you factor in the ice, it felt like there wasn't much juice for what I paid. The flavor was just okay. It was refreshing, but the watermelon wasn't as sweet as I expected. Instead, the lime seemed to stand out more, giving the drink a slightly tart taste. I know the sweetness of watermelon can vary, so this may have just been an off day, but I was hoping for a sweeter blend. I still like that First Watch offers fresh juices made with real ingredients and I'd be willing to give it another try. Hopefully next time the drink is a little fuller and the fruit is a bit sweeter. Drink: 3 out of 5 Service: 4 out of 5 Value: 3 out of 5 Overall Rating: 3 out of 5 stars
