Like most of the reviews , I too, LOVE this little bakery. Whenever I can stop by I do. I usually do the 2 for $10 sliced sourdough bread. One garlic and one jalapeño cheddar. Hey, the bread store is reopened. Apparently the original owners have retired, and the new owners are stocking the shelves with the great bread from Bordenaves the Marin baking Company in San Rafael. Shelves are also stocked with delicious bread dipping oils and balsamic vinegar, from McCaughtys olive oil in Brentwood. Also noticed local honey. Other breads and pastries look fresh and delightful too plentiful to mention I highly recommend revisiting them. They're open and ready for business. read more

Wonderful bread! I bought a park baked French bread and a raisin cranberry walnut bread (RCWB). The RCWB was so delicious! I gifted it to a relative who was hosting a party and her family of 5 raves about how soft it was and how perfect it was tossed for breakfast. Next time I'll buy more! Customer service was nice, a mother and daughter team were working. The store was well stocked, opened on time and they made great recommendations for my needs. I'm glad I got there early! The Oakley bread store is the best place to buy french bread it is a small shop, but great french bread.

This place is blowing up on social media in a good way! Oakley and Brentwood really needed a good carb place. Lol The shop is really small so make sure you only have 1-2 people at a time go in. Go early in the day as they were selling out of things by 11:30. They don't bake there but brings in what their dad bakes over night. It smelled so good in the shop. Their breads are a lot better than those from the grocery store. I believe they're baked fresh daily. We especially love their sourdough loaf -- just perfect. I've been drooling at this place every time I pass by and I live right down the street, sooo. I finally went in today! I was greeted by a friendly face and the delicious smell of fresh baked bread. There was a good variety to choose from. I chose the sliced garlic sourdough. It was so fresh and soft, I loved it with my soup I made at home, it wouldn't have been the same without this fresh yummy bread. I'll be back soon to try something else. read more

I had read a few people's post on the NextDoor app, about this bakery in Oakley that sells some BOMB sourdough french bread.. I do love sourdough French bread........ I like it grilled, I like it toasted, oh I really love to make garlic bread with it or just sliced up with garlic jack cheese... well I had to go and find this place. Go early, they are known to sell out by noon.. I go, I get a baguette... it smells so good, it looks so so damn good.... they had 2 or 3 different French loaves, ciabatta rolls, raisin bread bunny rabbit shaped loaves ... I paid $4 for some of the best bread I have. Had, as far as sourdough goes... BUY LOCAL SUPPORT LOCAL .. they do not bake on site. This place should be called "San Rafael French bread." My boyfriend and I were very excited when we heard of the place, thinking we had a bakery in town. When we arrived, we were a bit surprised at how small the space was, so I asked where it was the bread was being baked. The young woman explained her dad works for a bread company in San Rafael where he takes the leftover bread from and then sells it here in Oakley -- What a disappointment. We did purchase a six pack of rolls because we took the time to visit the place. Unfortunately, they were dried out. I got there at about 10:00 AM. The sign in the window said open. I walked up, reached through the screen door and guess what. The doors were locked. I looked in the window and the lights were out and the front area looked a bit unkept and unused. This place is tiny but packs a punch! The smell alone was amazing. We got one sourdough and a pack of the Dutch crunch rolls for sandwiches. They were soft, and fresh and delicious.
