Legit used to be my favorite bar to go to, used to go all of the time...I went into the large bathroom stall with my one girlfriend because that's just what girls do and the female bartender came in to the bathroom and accused us of slimy drug in the bathroom stall and then asked us to only have 1 person in the bathroom stall at a time...legit have never done a single drug in my life and am an occupational therapist for kids...legit get drug tested once a month. It was very disappointing that we were accused of fling drug in a bathroom stall because my girlfriend and I decided to go in to the bathroom stall together. I don't understand how they determine that? It just sucks, because later two other girls went in to a stall together and they were not questioned. read more

SHADY, SHADY, SHADY... If you keep a tab open, make sure you ask for an itemized receipt. Bartender fumbled around when our tab was more than we expected. We got a paper "guest ticket" with our drink totals... not the amount, just the numbers. When I called it out, the bartender made the "happy hour" excuse. After asking again for an itemized receipt, she came back with a printed itemized check that dropped the tab by $23 and of course an "apology." read more

Old School... darker wood, Lower Greenville bar. I went in early in the day and some regulars were already at it. I killed a bloody mary while waiting to get my hair cut and found the place interesting in the daylight... perhaps you really shouldn't ever see a bar on Lower Greenville in the daylight? I noticed an odor when I opened the door... this seems to be common with older wood bars and may be hard to deal with. Is it the plumbing? Is it the smell of over indulgence? I can imagine this place full of happy drunk people at night and will likely come and see for myself sometime soon! read more

Awesome bar. Good atmosphere. The jukebox is quite fun. We had some fun putting dollars in. This bar has a lot of character. Very long bar the bartenders were quick and it's not pretentious here. I'm not a person who does dive bars much, but for a dive bar I give the old crow a thumbs up. I like that fact there are plenty of tables all around. If you've been crawling on Lower Greenville sometimes you want to sit and the Old Crow will not let you down. The drinks are reasonably priced and even better they are not watered down. The front of the bar kind of dark, perfect for telling secrets or lies to a stranger. If you looking for fun and games they are in the back, pool tables and darts and some more light and even a little room to dance if the mood hits you. All in all it's a really good place for a big group to drink, laugh and people watch. I would definitely stop in the Old Crow again. read more

I've been reading the reviews for this and maybe I went on a bad night? It was definitely poppin in here which is why I went in, plus I like divey chill bars. Unfortunately, the service was terrible. We sat up at the bar for 20 minutes and were never greeted or asked for our drink order. We left & ended up at the libertine bar instead....if I ever decide to come back I'll update my status, but my 1 star remains because I believe that in every establishment your patrons should at least be acknowledged and that's always a deal breaker. read more

I've loved this bar for years. And I have been so happy it was still standing with all the gentrification in the neighborhood. Unfortunately, I came today with my best friend and the bartender made it a point to insult the homeless and then insult us for trying to be kind to a wonderful woman in need. Ahh the old crow. This and singlewide get my votes for best lower greenville bars for the non-uppity crowd. Cheap drinks, dark ambiance, friendly staff, and a huge interior space and patio set it apart from nearby places like Blind Butcher where you're crammed in like sardines. Two pool tables, two dart boards, a jukebox, and a DJ sets up in the front on occasion. Once I saw a guy light his hair on fire at the bar. Thankfully the ventilation is pretty good so it had cleared out by the next time I was in. You can bring outside food in too since they don't serve food. All around great low key bar. read more

I have been to this venue several times...he has been there every time, and has been the best bartender i have experienced. I don't remember names of the bars when we go bar hopping in Lower Greenville Friday or Saturday, so this review is based on Sunday night. A good friend of mine lives down the street so we walk over for drinks. The bartenders are super cool and kept the drinks flowing. They had Sunday Night Football on all the TVs and actually had a few other people there besides us. Supposedly they do potlucks on Sundays during the daytime so I will have to try it out. I'm not sure if you'd get the same vibe say Thurs-Sat, but definitely a decent place to go all the other nights. read more

I spent the night here with a large group away for a going away celebration. The bartenders were ALL phenomenal. Quick, attentive, friendly, yummy drinks. We spent quite a bit of money here. My last drink was served to me at 1:54am. A few moments later, an employee (unsure about his title) began aggressively yelling at all of the patrons to "hurry up" and "get out". He was aggressive and rude. I had experienced such a lovely evening, and I was attempting to finish my drink at a reasonable pace. If you're going to serve me a drink at 1:53am, don't be rude to me about being done with it before even 2am has hit. Unacceptable. I asked this gentleman his name. He was disrespectful, and actually refused to give me his name, which I found immensely unprofessional. I worked in the service industry for ages and am so disappointed that this petite, thin Black man with dreads (unable to name him due to his refusal to provide me with his name) is tainting this environment with his abrasiveness and negativity. Would have been a 5 star rating. This guy killed two whole stars in less than 10 minutes of interaction after having spent my entire night here and having had a lovely time. So unfortunate. I hope this gentleman gets the help he needs, or finds another job somewhere he doesn't have to interact with humans. I can only imagine this guy is the one who "physically assaulted" the 90 pound female from the other review. read more

Went here on a Tuesday afternoon with my wife and we had a pretty good time. Bartender was very friendly and introduced us to some new drinks we had never had. Had a good vibe. Would go back for sure. Jukebox was playing alot of hip hop from the 90s which was cool. read more

Wanting a quiet evening to myself on Greenville, I decided to check out the Old Crow, an establishment that I've never been to before. The bar itself is quite nice, with all the fixings that one would expect. But it's the staff that puts the Crow in the Old Crow. The bartender, for sake of anonymity, lets call her T. Beaurline. No, that's too obvious, let's go with Torre B. When I approached the bar to order my first drink, Torre B. greeted me with a knock-knock joke: Torre B. - knock knock Me - who's there? Torre B. - Obama is a Muslim and Jews (really using a hard J) control the media. Before I could go any further in the joke by saying "Obama is a Muslim and Jews control the media who...." Torre B. had turned around and lifted up the back of her shirt to reveal a giant "Make America Great Again" tattoo on her lower back. I believe I also spotted an upside-down cross tattoo on her side, but I can't be certain. I nodded with approval and was just about to order my drink when T.B. suddenly ducked behind the bar, out of view from the patrons. For 30 seconds or so all I could hear was a very distinct snorting nose and the occasional phrase "ooo yeah mama likely." My heart hurt for TB, because this poor girl was clearly suffering from seasonal allergies. But when she emerged from behind the bar, she seemed very alive and was moving/talking a million mph, which just goes to show that nothing can slow down the excellent staff at the Old Crow. Again, I was about to order my drink, but before I could, TB lit up a cigarette and blew the smoke into my face, which was really sweet considering that I was out of cigarettes and wanting a quick fix. TB then said "if she smokes, she pokes" and sent a wink in my direction before heading outside. On her way out, TB grabbed a big handful of my behind and told me to "stay golden, Ponyboy." Large bar with a laid back atmosphere, the bar tender was very attentive too. They also have pool tables available. My only complaints are that the women's rest-room was a little scary for me. Plus the music was a little too loud and some of the patrons were loud as well. Nice patio, wood bar, big window front, pool tables, all kinds of music on the box. They let acoustic guitar player, preform on patio. Karaoke Wednesday night. All sports on TV.
