    Chicken Salad Quesadilla
    Ellen M.

I always forget about this Columbus mainstay and their turtle soup. Got the chance to visit again after many years and enjoyed trying the chicken salad quesadilla. Salad had a nice texture and seasoning and I enjoyed the crispy tortilla. Great, friendly service. Parking is a bit challenging and the decor can use a bit of updating without losing their old timey feel.

Also in "German town" - we chose to try this on our nd night in town after a whole day of exploring the State Park. We were pleasantly surprised that everything we ordered was so good! Hubby got a German platter - the Bratwurst plate. I got the soup and sandwich- not just any sandwich - it was called A Mother Mohawk - but I swapped out the rye bread for sourdough. Omg roast beef and chicken salad in the sandwich- WHAT A COMBO INDEED! I dream of it. And the tomato bisque soup was amazing as well! My son got the smoked chicken ravioli which was just as delicious- the sauce was perfect. We also got a side of onion rings as an appetizer (no pic) but was just as yummy! And the horseradish sauce was unexpectedly yummy- I could not stop stealing my husband's to dip my onion rings in! Two out of two of our restaurants picks in Germantown were amazing!

Wife wanted to go back to Schmidt's since we loved it there the night before but as tourists and our first time in Columbus, I talked her into trying someplace else. We settled on this restaurant cuz we saw it the night before as we strolled the residential streets of German town looking for the crazy bookstore. It was a great choice in the end cuz we all LOVED each of our entrees and couldn't fathom why we hesitated to go here in the first place! Highly recommend- you won't regret our 3 entrees: the Bratwurst platter, soup and sandwich combo (wife raved about the sandwich she chose - The Mother Mohawk - sourdough bread instead of rye) and she's picky about her soup but she could not get enough of the tomato soup she chose. My son unexpectedly got the chicken ravioli and we all had a taste of it and it was also such a great choice - cannot go wrong if you chose these 3 for sure.  *Residential parking only.

Went here on a recent trip to Columbus. The food was fantastic. I had the sandwich with roast beef and chicken salad (perhaps called the mohawk?) which was so interesting and delicious. I got the half soup half sandwich combo with the French onion soup. The soup was sooooo good, very deep rich flavor. Service was pretty good but maybe a tad slow which was understandable on a very busy Friday night. The ambiance wasn't the best. My friends and I were sort of shoved into a corner at the front of the restaurant that had seats that were pretty difficult to get into and out of. But overall we would probably return.

First and last time ordering from this restaurant. The food is horribly unseasoned and portion sizes are portion sizes are abysmal. Tell me what "dirty rice" comes with chalk white rice, overcooked and unflavored with black beans, corn and pimentos. Means my man threw this $h1t in the TRASH!

Place was very clean, bathrooms and I could see into prep areas for food and looked amazing well taken care off Had the mushroom and bacon burger and it was okay. I'm not a big thick burger guy. Wife and daughter split a blacken cajun chicken pasta and they liked it. I'd come back.

I think the most authentic Old Mohawk experience is sitting inside of the wood-themed, large barred restaurant. But for this Sunday brunch, I sat outside and enjoyed the sun and (relative) seclusion of their sidewalk patio. Yes, couples, children and pets made their way past us on the other side of the gated off patio, but it was hardly a distraction from the sunlight and good vibes in this chill German Village block. The Lasagna with Chorizo was a good choice. Adding a side house salad was an equally good choice. Having a draft Paloma may have been a better choice. They're also known for their meatloaf, and I'm definitely interested to try it.

Great spot in German Village! Fast, kind service in a casual atmosphere and a nice little outside patio too! Taco salad was delicious! And so is the French onion soup! Pop into Helen Winnamores after right across the street! We are fans and will be back soon!

Cute place. Even on a Monday night they were quite busy. Service was good. Food just ok.i ordered a Reuben. The bread was rye and soggy. The corned beef not very flavorful. Generous amount of tasty sauerkraut. Sauce served on the side which is a positive. Not too flavorful which is a negative. I have been before and had the very delicious veggie wrap which I should have gotten this time.

What a great little pub/restaurant! Has a true old time feel to it, situated in German Village. The staff was outstanding! We were quickly seated. It wasn't very busy, so we were able to choose a seat.we were quickly brought water and menu's. We ordered the crab tater tots as an appetizer, friggin' delicious! They come with a sweet and spicy dipping sauce. I would order three of these the next time as a meal itself! I ordered the half sandwich and soup. I had the Mother Mohawk sandwich because it sounded interesting- Grilled roast beef and chicken salad covered with Swiss cheese on rye. So gooood, I'd definitely order it again. My soup was the turtle soup. I've heard so many people talk about it. Again, absolutely delicious! Just try it! Well worth the visit! My wife had the lunch special which was a Pesto Chicken sandwich with fries. I got to try it, a feat mix of flavors! The chicken breast was so moist and tender. Covered in pesto, tomato and onion on a brioche bun. We'll definitely be going back! Great job to all of the employees! Parking is limited, so you may have to walk a little, but that's how it is for most places in that area.

I LOVE the Old Mohawk. Great atmosphere and it was the perfect place to go for a glass of wine and warm meal with a friend on a very rainy night! The homemade meatloaf was delicious with the green beans and mashed potatoes... however I will say I think the sauce / gravy that is on the meatloaf did not sit well and made me very sick the next morning. I pinpointed the cause of the sickness to really only be something I consumed at dinner that night and I put my money on the gravy... I have a sensitive stomach and it just did not agree with it I guess! The food was excellent and I do not believe I got food poisoning... just a little be careful to anyone else who might have a sensitive stomach - perhaps skip the gravy on the meatloaf and enjoy it as is!

Outstanding lil' bar and gastropub in German Village... Stopped by TOM on a Saturday for lunch... It's a friendly, kitchy, neighborhood joint. TOM's got cool old school vibes with excellent service (our server Heather was great) and good food at a fair/reasonable price. This lil' place is certainly worth a stop when coming to German Village.

Stopped in for a late lunch with friends. As always, the place is warm and cozy and welcoming. I had the tomato bisque and half club sandwich. One soup was well spiced (not spicy) and delicious and the club is dependably good. Service was excellent - attentive and prompt.

Fairly large menu for a bar. I thought about burgers and other things, but I ended up with the southern dog. A good dog, good bun, with excellent pulled pork on top, good sauce, greens, relish. And I of course had to get cheese curds because I love them. They were very good too. Small, crispy, nice and melted inside. Came with a good, creamy sauce with a tiny bit of heat. Those added up to enough food for me, because I wasn't very hungry. Definitely on a normal day for me I probably would've also gotten a burger, or some other side. For a lunch, or a late evening meal, curds and a dog were perfect. And tasted excellent. Not busy on a Thursday at 6, just steady. Service was good, upstairs and down. Drinks are at the bar, or they have some canned pop upstairs. I really enjoyed my experience. The only negatives? The soothing sounds of axes, thunking against the walls right beside your table. And the stools are weird. They are too short or the tables are too high or something. And I am 5' 10", so not small, they just were not quite where I needed them. But, if you're eating drippy food, or your motor functions are impaired, a high table might reduce spillage. Speaking of motor functions, the stairs up to the food joint are steep, steep steep. I have bad knees, and it was a little rough for me. Prices are good. The music is good. The atmosphere is good. The food is good. I'll be back.

It was the perfect spot for a relaxed, drawn-out dinner where we could enjoy drinks, take our time, and really soak it all in. We had a reservation and were seated right away, which set the tone for the night. Everyone ordered cocktails (I've heard the espresso martini is one of their best, even though coffee isn't really my thing), and honestly, you can't go wrong with anything on the drink menu. We started with the Meze, which included house-made falafel, tzatziki, hummus, sun-dried tomato couscous, assorted vegetables, and naan--everything was fresh and so flavorful. They also brought out complimentary focaccia right away, which was such a nice touch. For my main, I ordered the seasonal scallops, and I also tried the chicken thighs with fig, goat cheese, asparagus, parmigiano reggiano, and couscous--both were absolutely amazing. I'd go back in a heartbeat just to try more of the menu. We were there for about 2-3 hours, and at no point did we feel rushed or like we were inconveniencing the staff. The entire experience felt thoughtful, welcoming, and just really special. Highly recommend The Sycamore for your next date night or girls' dinner!

The beauty of a Saturday afternoon is there were sports on and TVs hanging on the walls. That made the wait easy. Boy do they know their stuff bc it was pretty much one hour to the minute when they called our name and escorted us to our table. We sat in a booth and took in on the collection of various items around the bar that have been gathered through the years and had some laughs at some of it. It was almost like a fun game of eye spy! They came to take our drink order and by the time they returned we were ready to order. We chatted for a bit and our food came out in what seemed to be a good time. I ordered the Patty Melt with onion straws. My husband got the Thurman Burger. We were surprised by its size when they came carrying it out to our table. Believe it or not he ate every single bite. Said it was delicious. Mine was equally as delicious. Maybe not quite as big but that was fine by me. I actually quite enjoyed that they served the 1000 island on the side. It made it way easier to eat. The cheese was nice and gooey. Just perfect. The onion straws were good too. I shared those with my husband. They were actually just as good on their own as they were dipped in any kind of sauce. That's big coming from me bc I love dipping! We got a box for our leftovers and headed out happy with a great first time experience here.
