The hostess greeted us warmly and confirmed our reservation, but then another hostess -- I assume -- stepped in and instructed her to seat us at table #13(that wasn't the actual # but it may as well have been) The tone alone told me everything I needed to know... and unfortunately, my instincts were right. UUGGHHH. On our last visit, she ordered the Olive Tapenade appetizer, which I had passed over every previous time we visited. Once I tried it, I couldn't stop eating it. It's completely different from the typical spumoni you find in stores -- smooth, creamy, and without the nuts. I come here for one dish and one dish alone: the classic Mizithra cheese pasta with brown butter on the side, the crunchy salad with blue cheese, and spumoni ice cream. I love the odd spaghetti factory. My favorite dish there is the garlic and brown butter with Mezera cheese pasta. It's so good. I never get anything else there. I love their fresh bread and butter as well. I had this delivered by DoorDash and there's always something lost and delivery. Plus it was coming from about 20 minutes away. I obviously had to reheat everything and I got a little dry in the reheating. Sometimes deliveries just not as great as dining in. This is one of those situations, but it wasn't their fault that I had to reheat everything. We got two loaves of bread, which was awesome. The salads were pretty skimpy though. Vibe is classic old school Italian American family friendly with unique lighting and decor, including a trolley in the middle of the restaurant you can dine in! Highlights are their homemade marinara, tasty meatballs, sourdough bread, creamy garlic buttery shrimp fettuccine, and high quality pasta. This dish was delicious and much better than their 'Garlic Mizithra' which comes with Spaghetti - somehow in my opinion the Angel Hair Pasta works better with their signature Mizithra Cheese & Browned Butter. The chicken was tender but I was expecting it to have a little crunchier exterior. The sauce made with a medley of butter, lemon, capers, shallots, and tomatoes was good and went harmoniously with the flavors of their Mizithra Cheese & Browned Butter. Also, just FYI, every entrée is served with sourdough bread, either minestrone soup or green salad, and a scoop of either spumoni or vanilla ice cream. I like their creamy pesto ranch dressing. Was invited for a birthday celebration and our big party was seated at a long table put together in the back near the kitchen area and also near the bathroom. There was another big party like us the sat closer to the bathroom against the wall. I only took photos of the entrees next to me but everyone seems to have a different selection. All the entrees came with a choice of soup or salad and ice cream after. Wait wasn't long and they would always bring out bread if needed. Employees were friendly and accommodating Some of us had leftovers and we were able to box them up with the extra bread and they provided a bread bag. The others in my party that had cream sodas were able to keep a keepsake glass and instead of bringing the used up glass that had the drink our server changed them out for clean glasses to take instead. I like the cable car in the center of the restaurant which also had tables for guest to dine in as well. Probably would like to return with just one other person to experience that someday. Parking is pretty difficult street parking is available but not always available. There is a walking by parking lot though The cotton candy drink was something the kids enjoyed but I think the drink was way too sweet and carbonated. Avoid this place. After we finished our meal, I handed my card to the waitress to pay. It took an unusually long time for my card to be returned. Shortly after I got it back, my bank contacted me about suspected fraud on my account. A $500 charge had been made that I did not authorize. I asked to speak with a manager about the situation, but was told they were too busy to speak with me. Given the timing and the lack of concern shown when I raised the issue, I found the situation highly suspicious and very disappointing. Truly abominable. Upon entering, I noticed the decor was dark and vampiric, but it had a sort've kitsch charm. Little did I know there were terrors to come. My first red flag should've been the flavorless bread and the god awful "butter". That "butter" tasted waxy and slightly rancid. It was an imposter. This wasn't real butter. But I hadn't eaten all day so I kept eating the plain, unappetizing bread. And good thing I did, because the entree that followed was unparalleled horror. That mushroom ravioli...where to begin. Each bite was a molestation of the senses, ghastly and ghoulish. The cream sauce was flavorless at first, but on the back end was that rancid aftertaste that made each bite more and more despicable. The sauce was thick like papier-mâché and the mushrooms were shriveled, like they too recoiled in retreat of the vile sauce. I tried my friend's "lobster ravioli". I hadn't realized that lobster meant mysterious nasty fish. Silly me. Similar to the other ravioli, there was a freezer burned flavor present. Ratatouille and his legion of rats could've mustered up a more palatable meal with the $25 that ravioli cost. I mustn't forget that lukewarm boiled broccoli with weird cheese thrown on top. Heinous! Anyways, I sent it back and got a panini. It was aight at best. My appetite was lost at that point. The server was nice, the only redeeming quality in this hellscape. I had lunch at The Old Spaghetti Factory on a Friday afternoon and the place was pretty empty around noon. Despite getting seated immediately, service was quite slow throughout. It took about 20 minutes before we were able to place our order, and close to another 30 minutes before our food was ready. In our party of four, every member ordered the lunch special with a variety of different sauces so I couldn't imagine why boiling some pasta and re-heating up some sauce would take so long. One person in my party ordered the special October beverage which was a dressed-up cream soda, and unfortunately even that took about 30 minutes to arrive after we had placed the order for it. The food itself is filling -- especially with the included soup or salad and loaf of sourdough bread, but overall, the food is nothing remarkable: sauces are on the salty side, and the pasta itself is cooked past al dente. I got the Pot Pourri -- a sampler of Mizithra Cheese & Browned Butter, Meat, Clam and Marinara Sauces. Of the four sauces, I would probably go with a single one next time: the Mizithra was the best tasting, albeit the most calorie dense sauce of the four. Would I come by again? Only if I'm craving a specific item, or am looking for the novelty of dining in a train. Instead, she packed the desserts in the to go containers. It made me feel like we were being rushed to leave. Then she brought the check, and although I had mentioned wanting to use my trolley points for a $15 discount, she instead charged the full amount. I had to remind her that I wanted to use the discount offer. Once I expressed my frustration at her inattentiveness to our requests, she did apologize and seem sincere. Asides from today, all our other visits have been excellent. Usually staff is very attentive without hovering, small requests are accommodated without problem.
