However what gave me a 4 star is their incredible service and the ability to handle extremely large crowds well. We had a party of 20 and our food was fast hot and great. I ordered their most famous meal, the mizithra browned butter pasta, my mom got the fried ravioli which was BUSSIN and WELL SEASONED I suggest getting those for your first time here. The waiter was very nice and very respectful, he wasn't the most talkative and hyper and that was perfect for me and my mom, it took some time for him to take out order but you gotta admit people... this place is POPPIN so go at the right time! For the ambiance, I gotta say the place inside looked cool, it had vintage photos that were.. random people lol? They had a bar there which was organized, a big bike, and cool seating areas, the vibe of this place is like an old grandma brown vintage aesthetic lol. I have been to other Spaghetti Factories ( different cities) this is my first visit in Phoenix. They are kinda like a chain within a chain. The Phoenix location has some great history and ghost tales you can look up and read about. Sadly our waiter who said he had worked there for 4 years, couldn't even make one up. I will say the Cheesy Garlic bread was absolutely wonderful. 2 people in our party ordered the Chicken Parmigiana and were really disappointed in the quantity, a very small plate for the price. I ordered the meat lovers trio and my portion was much more generous. One person ordered the Mizithra it is delicious. It is quite rich, I'd recommend doing half of it with Marinara or order a side to cut some of the richness. We all enjoyed our dinners. All meals served with Soup or Salad, your Entree, and desert with choice of Spumoni or Vanilla ice cream. A bit disappointed at first as we had made reservations ahead for a large party. After a long discussion we agreed on a time that would work. Upon arrival they said it would be a few minutes which turned into an hour after we kept inquiring why. The worst answer was that they were working on fitting us in? They should not have had to as we had reservations and they knew this ahead of time. Eventually they acknowledged that we were getting upset with their excuses and sat us with a wonderful waiter and a few comps. It did take another very long time to get our desserts of ice cream, sherbet and spumoni. Not sure what happened there. This is easy to dish up. I do have to say that we were thankful. I saw a review here that stated high prices for appetizer portions, I would agree. $30 for a small spaghetti side and chicken parmigiana. My friend got the shrimp alfredo- okay size/taste. I am a fan of the eclectic decor that you can count on at any of these. The food is standard, and it's not going to be the best Italian you'll ever have, but it works. It feels a little pricey, but you do get three courses, whether you like it or not: salad, entree, and a scoop of ice cream. I usually stick to the basic marinara, and it's not bad. The portion is not too large but not too small either. The bread that comes with every meal is also super flavorful, but it can be so hard that you have to be careful cutting it. And I can't lie : that spumoni at the end is great! I don't recommend the house wine, but they have a lot of options, so that's easy enough to avoid. And to cap it all off, we had really really nice service from Jake when I went recently with my parents for lunch. read more

We like this place and have visited it several times. The meals are very consistent, service is above average, it is affordable and if you have a problem a manager always solves it for you. Our recent visit was Sun 3/3 when it was packed. The waiting room was full and the wait was 30 minutes - longer than usual. A walk through to the restroom revealed many empty tables so it clearly was a staffing issue they had on that day. Once seated we ordered a calamari appetizer and our main courses. The appetizer was a bit over looked and chewy but the spaghetti with Mizithra and browned butter, which two of us had, was delicious. The Marinara sauce with extra side meatballs was also pretty good per my friend. The ambience at OSF is very warm and inviting and gives a cozy feel by which to relax and perhaps over eat the pasta. This place is a classic stop on the downtown Phoenix foodie train! Stopped here before it got too crowded with the baseball crowd (it's super close to Chase Field) and it did not disappoint. We were seated with no wait, server was funny and attentive, and the decor is so old school "Titanic"-fancy. LOVED it! Ordered the Meat Lovers, garlic bread, and the Chicken Parmesan, and everything was delicious! Tonight I was feeling like Spaghetti and decided to visit an old spot here in downtown Phoenix Az. The Old Spaghetti Factory, full disclaimer it's not my favorite spot and I don't truly favor their dishes...However, I have not been here in a long-long time and will see what's stayed the same and what has gotten better. Parking is a bit tricky if you drive a large vehicle and easy if you drive a compact car. The place is historic homes built in the 1920's. Like most old buildings there's claims of ghosts in this place too. Sitting was fairly quick and then we waited...waited....and waited some more. The server finally arrived, a very pleasant young lady, she took our order and in just minutes the drinks, soup, salad, hot bread and calamari appetizer arrived. Less than 10 minutes later our main course arrived...the food was tasteless. Our server Gracie was very delightful and super attentive. The restrooms are nice and clean...a bit of a tour through the old building to get to them and kinda creepy especially at night but nice. I must say that I still don't favor the food and if it not for the very attentive server...I'd have no problem giving it 1 star. On to the next one read more

My facts: Ordered online for pickup. My email confirmation indicated the order would be ready at 6:31pm. I got there on the dot at 6:30; noticed there was a dedicated entry door for pickup orders. Great! I thought, well organized. Went through the pickup door, a sign said pickup orders at the bar. Sure! Went to the bar, told them I was picking up for "Jeff". The bartender used a walkie talkie to say 'Pickup for Jeff'. Waited Waited Tried to order an IPA at the bar while I waited. They were out. Waited. Got up from the bar and stood over by where Uber Eats drivers were waiting. Waited Asked an Uber driver what time his order was expected. 7:16. They told him his order was ready. Wait! What? Found the person in charge of pickup orders. Told her I've been there since 6:30 for a 6:31 order and now I hear a 7:16 order is ready before mine? She said, there is no order record for "Joe"; I said, my name is "Jeff". She replied, "Oh, that's the problem, we all heard Joe". Note, the bartenders called twice on their walkie talkies, both times; they said "Jeff". I should have asked here why she didn't ask them why they kept looking for a non-existent order for "Joe"; but didn't think of it. She then checked and said they are packing up my order. I asked they remove the 20% tip from my online order. She agreed and added they would remove one of our 2 adult entrees, as well. Very fair (that's why this is a 3 star review and not 1). Insult to injury, the runner finally brought out my order. I asked, "Is that mine?". She said "Joe?". WTF! The receipt on the bag clearly says "Jeff"! Takeaways: Yep, it was a Saturday night and they were slammed. But, if the bar is calling for a non-existent order (more than once); question them on it. A real person is tapping their feet waiting for that order. Food was fine (Luke warm, but fine). Since I anticipate a fair, partial refund; I will return in the future. TED talk out. Been 9 years since I frequented this location. For me, nothing has changed except for the prices. The 3 course meal is $18.99 now for my favorite dish, which is up $11. Also, there doesn't appear to be any lunch deals either, just one menu. Regardless, my mitzra cheese dish is my favorite and will be eaten at any price. Ths salad was cold and crispy with good blue cheese and the spumoni was a good ending. Oh and the bread of course was hot and buttery. Great meal. Took my wife out for a Friday night dinner date , wasn't sure if I needed to put in a reservation but when we got there we were seated right away. Our waitress Shelby was very pleasant and polite, she asked for our drink order and was quickly served right away, ordered a beer and she ordered a glass of wine . We started off with zucchini sticks in a dipping sauce, was delicious, wife ordered a shrimp scampi fettuccine, which she loved , I ordered the chicken Marcella with thin noodles, was so delicious, couldn't finish the meal but took it home , we also ordered a piece of lasagna to take home for lunch the next day , also very delicious, highly recommend this place for Italian food read more

Hubby and I would enjoy a meal 2X a year when we lived in Seattle but this was our first visit here since moving a couple years ago. We made a 7pm reservation and arrived a few minutes prior. They were busy but this location is HUGE and there were a ton of open tables. We struggled to find parking but the front desk was very helpful and suggested we go around back. I love that this location is an old mansion, transformed into a rustic and historic restaurant. The art work, paraphernalia and antiques were so fun to read about, look at and admire. We were sat in a booth towards the back bar area. Ahmed quickly greeted us and provided us great service during our stay. He brought us our drinks, bread and salads within minutes. Everything was fresh, hot and delicious. ***Word of Advice*** - Ask for the dressing on the side. We both ordered 1000 island and our salads were SWIMMING in it. Pasta is not my first choice when dining out but the hubby was craving their mizithra cheese so I agreed. Not to toot my own horn but I make a really great homemade spaghetti Bolognese with meatballs and figured I would give theirs a try. Sadly, that was a mistake. I was served a huge portion of spaghetti noodles (which was expected) but the sauce lacked flavor, texture and I didn't notice a single vegetable. Maybe it was pureed but it did not look or taste like anything want to eat. Also, the meatballs were dense and didn't have good flavor and the sausage was just ok. Maybe I like my meat sauce a bit sweeter but overall I'd give this dish a D. The hubby on the other hand LOVED his "managers special" which is why we came so I was happy about that. The spumoni ice cream served with all meals is a nice treat and finish. When I return in a couple years, I will be sure to order something I can't make at home. I have gone to OSF for my birthday nearly every year. Every year, I am able to get a free mac and cheese entree through the rewards program. For some reason, the manager decided that I would not be able to this year, even though nothing has changed since last year. The app even has a picture of the mac as part of the qualifying items. Even worse, the waitress made me tap redeem on the app, so I lost my reward if I wanted to come back later this week and try and get another pasta. Because of their greed and unwillingness to care for the customer, I will never return to one of my formerly favorite restaurants. You can get a bigger size too if you have a larger appetite. Our daughter loves the children's spaghetti. Spumoni ice cream for dessert ties the whole meal together at the end. I first came here when I was a kid. It's great walking in and everything looking exactly the same 20 years later and counting. We came here after the APS light parade and took the light rail (which stops right in front of the restaurant)came around 7pm on a Saturday night. The restaurant looked pretty busy but the wait was only 10-15 minutes for a party of 4. We took a seat and waited our turn. It was only about 10 minutes before we were called. We were taken to our table in the back and seated. Now, the decor and ceiling and walls need a good cleaning/dusting as I could see some cobwebs but that didn't deter me from eating here lol Our waiter came pretty quickly to greet us and take our drink order. He brought us two loaves of that hot fresh baked bread that is SO FLIPPING GOOD!!! Our salads came out pretty quick as well and we chowed down on those. Love the pesto dressing! Now coming to the spaghetti factory I ordered the spaghetti with meat sauce as usual. Our food came out nice and hot. I love the spaghetti with neat sauce. The food doesn't taste like an Italian grandma is back there cooking but it's definitely good and night just be good because it tastes the same as I remember. Now, the Spumoni is where it's at. Man I forgot how great the Old Spaghetti Factory is. I feel like we had more of these growing up because I remember going there as as kid in Ohio. Now it looks like there is only one in Ohio. I hadn't been in forever but after moving to the PHX area, my cousin mentioned to me that we had an OSF here. I was telling my boyfriend about it and we decided to go here on a Saturday night. We didn't have reservations so the wait was about 25 mins or so. The place was packed! This is probably one of the best family-friendly chains in PHX to go to. I saw so many families here. What I love about this place (and I had forgotten) is that you essentially get a 3 course meal with your entree. Salad, bread and a scoop of ice cream is included (hence why there are so many families here probably). My boyfriend and I had a sweet tooth to begin with though so we ordered a Masterpiece Shake to share. We figured it would be just like any other Oreo shake. Well I'm happy to say that we were wrong! This shake is fantastic! There is a reason they refer to it as a masterpiece. The Oreo part is so finely chopped up that it's essentially Oreo dust mixed into the creamy vanilla ice cream. It is the best Oreo shake hands down. So do not sleep on this shake! Needless to say, my bf and I were both bummed that we only ordered one to share. lol They also brought out some bread with butter. The bread was fresh out of the oven and so good. I got the salad with the pesto ranch (their speciality) as my starter. The salads are mostly just lettuce and croutons but the dressing makes it flavorful. For my entree, I ordered the Manager's Favorite (two types of their pasta dishes). I love red sauce so I went with the marinara and of course the mizithra and browned butter, which I feel like is what they are known for. Both were very good and although I wasn't too hungry after bread, salad and a milkshake, I actually ate most of my dinner! The dessert option is either a scoop of vanilla or a scoop of pistachio ice cream. I got the pistachio and it was way better than I remembered it being from when I was a kid. I figured since it's essentially free that the quality wouldn't be there at all. But it's actually very creamy, delectable ice cream! Delightful! This place has been around for years for good reason! They have the magic formula of good food, good service and fun atmosphere. They even have yummy Gluten Free options which aren't always easy to find. We just celebrated my best friend's 60th birthday here. They accommodated our party of 24 effortlessly. Service is spotty, sometimes it's fast, other times it's slow. The food is similar. I had the "Unlimited soup and Salad" ($7) for lunch. The salad was a disappointment, it seemed like it came out of a bag. The in-house dressings were great, but did not redeem that salad. The soup was also a disappointment, it was minestrone and it did not taste fresh. The bread that came with it was the same as the previous 2 items, it was a sad sourdough baguette. It didn't even look appetizing. My second visit was slightly better, I had ordered the "Garlic Shrimp Fettuccine" (nearing $20), everything was wonderful except for the shrimp, they were extremely tough and rubbery. When there are authentic Italian places nearby like Forno 301, or Pomo Pizzeria, you really can skip this place. I will reiterate that it really is beautiful so while I might not come back for Italian food, I will definitely come back for drinks at their bar. read more
