The interior is very "old country", all the rustic charm you could ever want, and I love it! However, that's where my love for this place starts and stops. Service is spotty, sometimes it's fast, other times it's slow. The food is similar. I had the "Unlimited soup and Salad" ($7) for lunch. The salad was a disappointment, it seemed like it came out of a bag. The in-house dressings were great, but did not redeem that salad. The soup was also a disappointment, it was minestrone and it did not taste fresh. The bread that came with it was the same as the previous 2 items, it was a sad sourdough baguette. It didn't even look appetizing. My second visit was slightly better, I had ordered the "Garlic Shrimp Fettuccine" (nearing $20), everything was wonderful except for the shrimp, they were extremely tough and rubbery. When there are authentic Italian places nearby like Forno 301, or Pomo Pizzeria, you really can skip this place. I will reiterate that it really is beautiful so while I might not come back for Italian food, I will definitely come back for drinks at their bar. read more

Haven't been here in a minute but was craving spaghetti. Inside looks just like years ago except the spaghetti tree is missing. Was seated very quickly at a comfortable booth. Did a mobile order. Was quoted ready at 6 pm ready. Arrived at 6:09pm front counter guy was beyond what customer service does not look like. He told me walk down the hall and wait in the hallway. I waited and many staff people walked around d me past me and around me again. Not one said hello, a smile, do you need help, nothing. Finally I approached someone who looked like a manager and she had mediocre customer service skills. She went in the back and about 10 minutes later another individual came out with the order. I proceeded back to hotel to eat the meal. I remove the order from the bags and leant that the 5.99 side of mizithra cheese was expired! I called was speaking to someone then got disconnected. I then called back and got a different person who got me to the manager who was looking for a way out to explain the expired cheese. Scarlet was her name and she has made many promises of crediting my cheese and sending a coupon for the inconvience. I explained to her the bad service and all! While in Phoenix we stopped by for lunch and ordered the shrimp fettuccine and chicken Cesar salad oh can't forget my sangria which was amazing. The shrimp fettuccine was my husband but of course I needed a bite and gosh I immediately regretted not ordering that darn plate. It was so creamy and full of flavor. The shrimp was perfectly cooked. I think I ate half my husbands plate and handed him my salad. Note the salad was not bad at all. It was a great size the lettuce was crisp and green, chicken was perfectly spiced and cooked however fettuccine is my favorite and I don't order it everywhere I go cause I'm usually disappointed. I must admit that the sourdough loaf with garlic butter that they bring out at the start of every meal is usually the #1 highlight for me, it is always a most delightful treat to start every meal. As far as the main dishes go, the mizithra cheese and browned butter pasta plate is always my go-to, and if you're a cheese love like me it's a must try! Cool historic place with lots of nostalgia everywhere. Conveniently located close to the Phoenix Theater. Ask to be seated in the train car parked inside the restaurant. My son got a kick out of that and quite frankly so did we. My son and I each got stuffed on the Meat Lovers Treat Spaghetti. My wife ordered the Crab Stuffed Ravioli which she also enjoyed. I have been to this place multiple times. For both special occasions and just to stop in for dinner or lunch. This place has a great ambiance and atmosphere for more of a special occasion. Seems like a lot of old town decor and lay out. The food is always good and if you don't eat that many carbs you can substitute broccoli for any pasta, which is a game changer for me. My husband and I came here to enjoy our date night and will surely be making Old Spaghetti Factory a regular haunt. We arrived around 7pm on a Saturday night, and were quickly sat. Our server greeted us just as promptly. Unfortunately, I did not catch her name. She placed our drink order and a cheese bread order in. Atmosphere was charming and eclectic. Designs from years passed, a few velvet high back chairs, and sparkling chandeliers adorned the venue. Standing center stage is an old train car! Just like in normal restaurant fashion, drinks appeared and we placed our dinner order in. Our garlic cheese bread took a little bit to come out, but we weren't even upset! Suddenly, the cheese bread came out with the head chef, Chef Kreaon (sp.?). He apologized profusely, which we assured him we weren't upset. Talk about customer service!!! Dinner was perfect! My husband ordered the Mizithra, while I ordered the Spicy Spaghetti Vesuvius. The flavors and presentation was very appealing. While I shouldn't have, I ate it all . We also ordered a Chocolate Mousse Cake to go. We will definitely be sure to tell our friends. We used to occasionally go to the Old Spaghetti Factory location in Atlanta. However, it closed down about a decade ago. Now, we sometimes find one in some other city when we are visiting and stop in during a trip. Such was the case in Phoenix. I had noticed that they had a couple of OSF locations here, but when I tried to get a reservation on Saturday afternoon they were already full. Hence I tried again (earlier) for Sunday and succeeded in getting a table for around 6:30 p.m. Our nav app routed us along a street to the side of the OSF - lined with tall palm trees more reminiscent of L.A. We thus came to the back parking lot of the restaurant and pulled in. Though it was a Sunday, the place was packed. Whether this was due to it being Fathers' Day, the L.A. / Diamondbacks game that afternoon, or some other factor, I don't know. We were seated roughly on time, and in the trolley car to boot! The food remains the same as always. I tried a spinach pasta dish that I had not had before. I'm sure you could still get better authentic Italian cuisine at some mom & pop store, but this is occasionally a worthwhile stop just for the long-running tradition (for us). We enjoyed the meal. However, lately the service has been very slow, but we've tried to be patient. Today was the last straw. We had reservations for noon on a Friday. Surprisingly, the restaurant wasn't very crowded at all. We were seated in the bar area and while the server/bartender was nice enough, once we received our drinks and our order taken, we received no further service until we walked out 50 minutes after being seated. I checked this place out after visiting the Phoenix Art Museum. The decor is fabulous. The bar is so cool looking that is takes me back in time. You can eat in a train trolly. One of the 1st Italian restaurants I can remember going to in Phoenix when I was young. I love the San Francisco style Victorian building. Great atmosphere and one of the only dine in Italian restaurants currently open in July. They offer Covid-19 responsible dining and all the entrees come as 3 courses with choice if soup or salad and some spamoni for dessert. My wife and I had the Pot Pourri a combination pasta with 4 different sauces white clam sauce, Mizirthra cheese & brown butter, Maranara and meat sauce. My daughter had the chicken fettuccine alfredo with broccoli and mushrooms they all were very good and reasonably priced for 3 courses.
