So. Pretty cool spot.. feels like a vampire owns the place. The lighting here was pretty dim, so if the food had any imperfections we simply could not see it... clever Our waitress Melissa was great. I just got off of work and maybe looked a little dusty so she made sure I was well hydrated. Thx hommie Wanted to see what this famous baked lasagna was all about and I'm pretty satisfied. The sauce was saucy, the meats were meaty and the cheese... let me tell you.. it was cheesy. So even though it may not have been the best lasagna I've ever had, it certainly wasn't the worst. My first time here and I had a good experience with "ok" tasting food. I tried the crab stuffed ravioli which was $18 for 6 pieces of ravioli. It was kind of mediocre tasting to me. It wasnt bad, and it wasnt superb, so I probably would not order it again. It was a 3-course meal, so it came with soup or salad and a vanilla or spumoni scoop of ice cream for dessert. I read a lot of reviews on here, about horrible customer service and was quite hesitant about visiting this place, because I'm all about being treated good when I patronize a business. Luckily I didn't experience that. We were greeted as soon as entering, seated right away, and had a friendly/attentive waiter.....so my first time experience was a good one! read more

I have been here many times! Lots of birthdays have been spent here. This experience was the worst ever, Jaden had such an awful attitude. Even when we pointed out things she had forgotten to bring or were wrong; she refused to acknowledge. Things that were on the receipt. Just apologize and admit it instead of deny what you know is true. Then to turn your back and walk away while we are have an adult conversation. Little girl please learn to accept things you could have fixed. All "what can I do to make it better?" Don't be rude and walk away. The food itself may have been atleast 4 stars, it was average Italian food. This rating is based off the service we received. We came in, a group of 7 got sat within 5 minutes, half the restaurant was open, ordered appetizers and it took 30+ minutes to get them INCLUDING bread. When our orders were taken one of the people in our group never got to order and the waitress walked off before he could tell her, didn't get to order for 15 minutes. We had asked multiple different passing waiters including ours for more bread, never got it. On top of that we never got ANY refills on drinks and we were sat right next to the ordering machine shaking our glasses. We've been coming here for years and love the ambiance and the smell of Parmesan in the air!!! Sometimes the service can seem a bit slow and its like an eternity before our drinks arrive or when we wait for the manager to open the wine at our table but in reality it's probably no more than 10 to 12 minutes so no biggie. We had a wedding reception reservation planned months in advance. Upon arriving, the staff were not prepared for us. The manager was extremely rude and was angry that our party was lead back to the event space before he was ready. Another member of the staff had already let us back in and we were told our table was ready. The manager was angry saying we need to review the contract in front of the wedding party and made it very awkward. He was very unprofessional and had no consideration towards the wedding party. He was also seen goofing around in the kitchen instead of tending to our party. Shout out to the other servers and staff. Things were a little chaotic because it was a large party, but the servers were very friendly and kept a positive attitude. Too bad we didn't get that same positivity from the manager. We could not remember his name but he was very rude and not qualified for his job. We had a different manager helping us out with the planning and contract, and she was great. THANK YOU Shawna!! Also, the food was cold when it was brought to us. Not all of the guests received bread at their table. There was overall not enough preparation done ahead of time. It was very obvious. Ordered an orange Italian cream soda which was so delicious and flavorful. My wife and I celebrated our anniversary here. Wears a reservation and when we arrived our table was ready and we were sat immediately. The ambiance was inviting and the decor historic, as it compliments downtown Riverside well by honoring its legacy. We were amazed that our meals included the soup/salad option, alongside a dessert. I had the chicken parmigiana with spaghetti. The chicken breast was cooked to perfection. It had a light crisp on the outside while remaining tender and savory on the inside. My wife ordered the Chicken breast Fettuccine with broccoli. The sauce was flavorful and equally portioned throughout the dish. We both upgraded to the Caesar salad, which had crisp lettuce, crunchy and tasty croutons, cheese, and a balanced dressing that brought it all together. We both chose to have Vanilla Ice cream instead of the spumoni. The ice cream was had a creamy and sweet satisfying taste. We had a great time and will return with our kids! This may be my first or 2nd time going, can't recall. But came in on a Sunday. I love how quick and nice the service was. Tried the manager's special with rich meat sauce and mizithra cheese. I think i prefer the marinara sauce the most from my SO's spinach & cheese ravioli. Then the meat sauce. The mizithra was too salty, so don't think I'd get that again. But their $14 3-course meals are hard to beat. That fresh hot, bread with butter is amazing. Soup/salad is tasty and complimentary ice cream hits the spot. I'll be back to try their creamy pastas like the fettucine alfredo. I'd avoid the milkshake/italian soda (though good!)/mizithra next time due to my slight lactose intolerance. Hopefully, their cream pastas won't be too bad on the tums lol. I love the vintage decor in here, definitely smells wooden/musty. But there is a charm to this place! When you have a craving for pasta. This is the place if you don't want to drive too far. It's a great place for a salad to start and then your entree and dessert. Unbelievably bad. It's was 102 outside so we were hoping to enjoy a nice lunch out of the heat. Only to stand in the waiting area with no place to sit, in what felt just as hot as outside for 40 min after we were told it would have been a 15 minute wait. I understand how busy restaurants get especially during lunch rushes, but there were so many tables open that could have been at least available to take a seat in while we waited to be placed. It's uncomfortable as it is but for them not to have the courtesy to allow small children or elderly women to sit in a more comfortable space is disappointing. It would have made a world of difference if they would have minimum offered a glass of water while we waited in the heat. read more

Was craving pasta and am currently sick. Tried to order online through DoorDash and at the end of the process it said the restaurant not accepting deliveries. Called the restaurant and was put on hold. Tried Grubhub and said the same. Called again and someone was gonna ask the manager why delivery orders weren't going through. A woman came on the line and asked her if there's a problem with delivery, she said they don't have in house delivery and to go through 3rd party app, told her I tried, and basically she said that's not her problem. The old spaghetti factory has always been an iconic restaurant in Riverside, with its great decor and train car theme, but unfortunately the service has gone extinct like many of the farms represented in the decor. Expect less than friendly staff, long wait times and your order to be wrong. Let's start with an 18 minute wait for drink orders. Not to receive them but to take them. We ordered our meals while ordering drinks with the delay. When salads came the utensils were dirty and unwashed. The wrong entrees were served to half of the dinner party and we did not really get to dine together as we waited for their meals to be prepared. When dessert orders were taken, again the wrong desserts came out. There was no comping a meal or even a drink or 2. This level of service has made this restaurant a place I will only come to if my guest or date wants to go. I will not voluntarily dine here in my own. So so. Burned appetizer bread. The waitress said they had oven problems. She still delivered it. Also the complimentary bread was extra dark - we had to ask for it. Was very hard to get a refill and we had to ask for everything. Our waitress kept bringing more items to the table but never cleared off any used dishes. We were at a table for two so very small area. Another major observation but I won't say because the manager did take care of it but it was very very unsanitary and didn't involve our us. We came here for our dating anniversary and asked to sit in the trolley but it was closed. Asked the hostess for a server table switch off/exception and she wouldn't even try to accommodate. I was annoyed as hell so ordered a Pinot noir and shot of vodka with an olive garnish just to confirm to myself that I wasn't crazy. She came back after that order and said oh oops I actually did make it with tequila. Girl OWN UP to your mistake. It's offensive to discredit the guest at a restaurant who was genuinely being nice and kind of cheeky about the mistake. I get that some blanco bottles look similar to some vodka and gin bottles so it's not even a huge deal to just say oops sorry, then fix it or get the damn wine. But instead she tried to tell me it was made exactly to recipe. Luckily our server was pretty chill about it and I respect her but the manager needs some serious corporate accountability and basic guest service as management training. I took my sister out with her kids we all had different meals ranging from mizithra, salad, fettucine alfredo, spumoni, and kids mac n cheese. All of five us ended up with severe food poisoning. However, today we went in and for some reason we were skipped waiting for a table for party of two. We waited over half an hour until I went up and asked why we were skipped. They finally seated us and again waited another almost 30 minutes! Other tables were being seated and waitresses were approaching them but us! I finally asked for the manager, but after waiting another 10 minutes we decided to leave. Well, there was a time when The Old Spaghetti factory had a lot going for it. I think their chain has seen better days. Like other chains, TOSF needs to upgrade the food to match the $19.75 average price for an entree . As an accountant, I am more than aware of prices and changes in the supply chain, in addition to increased labor costs. I Guess There will be a flow of diners who thinks TOSF delivers. For us, the food was measured to the gram ( absolutely soul-less.It makes me believe the main entrees could be reheated from frozen from an assembly line and not freshly cooked. But, there is no proof of this. I'm just saying it tastes like this.). My meal was ice cold!! I have had better meals on airplanes-- and this food reminded me of this. The bread on the table is a nice touch but needed more oven time. Kudos for serving real butter. The high point was the salad with ranch. We probably won't be rushing back anytime soon. One of the worst restaurants we have ever eaten in. Our friends invited us here. My wife had eaten here many years ago (did not remember if it was good) and it was my first time. Every dish was terrible. The salad was cheap iceberg lettuce, and if that were not bad enough, half of it was rotten. We couldn't finish it. I had the Meat Lover's Treat: the spaghetti was old and dry (with strands stuck together), the meatballs tasted OK but were also dry, the sausage also tasted OK (nothing special). My wife was much more unfortunate. She ordered the Jumbo Crab Ravioli. The portion was ridiculous: 6 ravioli that were far from "jumbo". The pasta tasted stale and crusty, the crab filling was watery, mushy and also stale-tasting. The flavor was terrible. On top of all this, the prices were outrageous. $23 and $26 respectively. For PASTA! For a few bucks more, you get two STEAK dinners! Never returning again. read more

And the food has gone down hill more than I would have ever expected. The lettuce was brown and limp. The sauce was watery for the spaghetti, dry chicken parm.. and the most disappointing was my FAVORITE the spinach tortellini... nothing but oil. The only thing that was consistent was the bread. We selected OSF for my mother's celebration of life dinner. The reservation process was simple and the limited menu helped keep us well within the budget. Service was prompt and courteous and their preparation and portion sizes were generous. We had a private banquet area that allowed us to relax and mingle with our bothering other tables. What a lovely Caesar salad and warm bread. Enough butter and the sourness if the bread is tasty. The Spumoni ice cream is sweet and very comforting. And the spaghetti and meat balls are very well compatible. The meatballs were moist and well flavored. The spaghetti and sauce were a nice combination.
