My family really loves this place. This is our second time here. We live about an hour away and the first time we were staying at The Woodlands Resort and wanted to eat off site. We Found this restaurant through Yelp. I had the carnivore salad with steak and it was delicious. This time, I had the French onion soup and Cesar salad and both were made to order and fabulous. I wish I had gotten a photo of my soup. It was almost too pretty to eat. The wait staff is very attentive and polite. The food is fresh and comes out quickly. Our server was great. Now, let's skip to the food shall we. As a Food and Beverage director for small chains like Hilton Hotels and Holiday Inn, I know food and restaurants. I read some reviews that were pretty good, but I know it was either an exaggeration or some people just do not eat out much. Let's start with the bread--was not prepare correctly. Little taste. The appetizer was mushrooms that were definitely "rubbery" and just not fresh. But, in all fairness...it was decent. Now, the entree. Chicken Fried Steak. It was either frozen and thawed or even boiled, then battered. Tough, rough tasting. The manager came to the table and was rude. He knew nothing about solving a guests problems or a kitchens problem makes more sense. My wife was talked down to like she/we wanted something. I get it..some people are like that. But, he would not believe his food was bad regardless. Poor management skills. The place has promise and getting a new kitchen manager would be on the top of my list of corrections. Avoid. read more

First time there. Kevin our waiter brought his A game... On top of all things "customer service." We started with the fried jalapeños which were awesome. Hot and spicy just like we like 'em. He had the chicken fried chicken with jalapeño gravy. He cleaned his plate to give you an indication of how much he enjoyed it. I had the shrimp and grits. They were amazing!!! From a chef standpoint, the BEST French onion soup I've had. Oh sorry...they ALSO make the most amazing elevated Grilled Cheese I've had.

Everything I tasted was good! Came on a Saturday around 11:15 and after ordering the food only took about 10-15 minutes to receive. Beautiful presentation and tasted good too! My boyfriend ordered the Texas Brunch burger and I ordered the Onion Soup cup and Taquitos. Onion Soup Cup: Received as a an appetizer, big portion size for a cup of soup. Very flavorful and came out hot with three pieces of delicious breads. Taquitos: looks like 2 medium sized taquitos cut in two pieces each on top of lettuce with avocado slices and a side of white queso (good!) and tomatillo salsa (also good). Chicken could be more flavorful (I'm from Louisiana so I like lots of seasoning) tasted like boiled chicken. Good portion size considering I had a soup also. I am putting 4 stars instead of 5 because I bit into a pretty decent sized bone in one of my taquitos, and it really hurt my teeth. The waitress was apologetic, just wish it hadn't happened. Burger and Hashbrowns: my boyfriend loved his burger, it was really big and flavored well. He got it medium and it was cooked as ordered. I love hashbrowns and these did not disappoint. We were driving by and stopped at this hidden spot right off 45 north for dinner today. My husband ordered the omega chicken that our server recommended with a special lemon sauce and it was the best dish he had in a long time. Thanks for the hospitality and the great service Rene. My boyfriend and I just The Omega Grill tonight for date night. The service was phenomenal. Everyone on the staff was friendly, attentive, and very accommodating (even when we spilt our drink all over the floor - whoops!) The only thing that rivaled the great service was the food. We ordered the friend mushrooms, chicken pot pie, southern bowl, and carrot cake. The food came out quickly and was absolutely delicious. Each meal was large enough for two people to share! This is just a really good restaurant. It's more in the style of a diner, although inside it's set up with traditional seating. It just has the feel of your old favorite diner, but with higher quality everything and no grease. The server was friendly, attentive, and knew her stuff. The restaurant is clean and comfortable, but a little jumbled in its basic color and pattern choices. Cozy and comfy. During our one visit we tried their French onion soup (excellent), the French dip with mushrooms and melted cheese (excellent) and their chef's salad with grilled chicken (excellent!). There's nothing not to like here, and based on the number of people they were hosting on a Thursday afternoon, the neighbors and working folks nearby have all figured it out. This restaurant reminds us that there's a certain feel to a good restaurant, an overtone of confidence, relaxation, and quality. This little place has all that, and more. This was a nice place. The frozen drink were delicious. They did not offer brunch which was the reason we went but several items were very similar so we created our own brunch. Had the Brussels sprouts that same out seasoned well and crispy. Asked the waiter if we could swirl the two frozen daiquiri options. For my meal I got the adult grilled cheese and soup. We ordered: Pork chops w/mashed potatoes Prime rib sandwich (I think that's the name) w/onion rings Pros: The servers are pretty good The restaurant is spacious and can accommodate large groups and kids The food is amazing (and fresh) Cons: Pricing - a bit high Charged for buffalo sauce (and I didn't know there was an option to get the bottle from the front of the restaurant) When they get a rush, servers are stretched, and are not as attentive I would hope the owner considers the cons. Finally got around to checking this place out & were extremely glad we did. We sat at the bar and the service was outstanding. The staff had great recommendations & went out of their way to make sure we felt at home. Everything we had was delicious. Their soups were one of the major highlights, I had the spinach, feta and crab soup. I would absolutely recommend trying this out if it's on their specials for the day, it's a treat. For entrees we had the blackened catfish special & the marinated pork chop special. The catfish was soft & succulent - perfectly cooked & the grits were a meal of their own right. Some of my favorite grits I've had to date. The pork chops were so good my girlfriend cleaned the plate, a rare occurrence. I was about to write a really ugly review. I was disappointed in the service. The wait was longgg (3 g's), I did not receive attention after several minutes and I almost walked out. If you can get past the poor service, then let's talk about the food. I got the Texas dip, chicken fried chicken with jalapeño cream gravy and smoky gouda grits. Skip the dip. It's okay but nothing to write home about. It was very thick and the chips that came with it were warm and crunchy which I could appreciate. It would be better suited for a large group because they give you a generous portion. Again, flavor is alright but nothing special. Now the chicken fried chicken. Holy guacamole!! Well seasoned, the jalapeño gravy is excellent with a kick, the Texas toast is buttery goodness. I wanted to like the smoked gouda grits but....meh. I'm giving them a 3 for service (my cup is still empty (10 minutes and counting...and I just saw a guy from another table go fill up his own drink...maybe I'm doing this wrong?!) but I'd say 4.5 for food flavor. Be patient and you will get some pretty good grub. PLEASE WORK ON YOUR SERVICE!!! You are not understaffed and it's not ridiculously busy. Slammed at lunch, messed up our order & I easily give Omega Grill 5 Stars!! First of all, Renee was fantastic. Yes he forgot to put our chili cheese fry order in but a sincere apology and a super attitude more than made up for a simple mistake. The manager (I assume) upon realizing the mistake also apologized, got them out ASAP and did not charge us. BTW - they were amazing! My Woodlands special burger and hash browns were incredibly flavorful. Every item on the burger - bacon, avocado, bun, sauce, meat patty - all right on point. The bowl of greatness (my words) with fried chicken, mashed potatoes, more bacon & gravy was splendid as well. The margarita was a bit suspect, but who cares. Don't come here for their cocktail menu.
