Slammed at lunch, messed up our order & I easily give Omega Grill 5 Stars!! First of all, Renee was fantastic. Yes he forgot to put our chili cheese fry order in but a sincere apology and a super attitude more than made up for a simple mistake. The manager (I assume) upon realizing the mistake also apologized, got them out ASAP and did not charge us. BTW - they were amazing! My Woodlands special burger and hash browns were incredibly flavorful. Every item on the burger - bacon, avocado, bun, sauce, meat patty - all right on point. The bowl of greatness (my words) with fried chicken, mashed potatoes, more bacon & gravy was splendid as well. The margarita was a bit suspect, but who cares. Don't come here for their cocktail menu. This place is so good that so far on this vacation my husband and I have eaten there twice this trip! We went for dinner and both ordered the chicken fried steak with mash and jalapeño gravy. I don't really like writing reviews on take home orders but felt I needed to address some small issues. I've visited Omega Grill many times and even held a birthday party here. The service is always great and the food is good. One thing I really enjoy about this place is the "specials" menu that changes weekly. Their regular menu is great and I do have some favorites which makes it hard when I come in and the weekly menu has something that sounds better than what I went in for lol. So the small issues I want to address are mainly because I've never had these issues when I eat there, only when taking home. My personal favorite is the captain crunch chicken tenders with their homemade jalapeño gravy. The tenders have a very nice sweet church from the cereal breading that pairs great with the jalapeño gravy. The problem is this is the second time I was given regular gravy and not the jalapeño one. I even asked before I left "you gave me the jalapeño gravy right" and I was told yes. Seems like a small inconvenient but when you have your taste buds ready for something and it's not what you get it's a big disappointment. The second issue was the tenders were over cooked for a second time. Again these are issue I've never experience while eating there. I'm not sure why the food would differ when ordering to go but I will bring it to their attention on my next visit. I would recommend this place for a nice dinner but not for to go orders. read more

The place is a nice wide open restaurant that is warm and inviting with modern design. Several televisions gives it a homey vibe, and for the homestyle cooking they give, it certainly makes sense. The servers are attentive and nice and clean empty tables super fast, which given the modern world is a huge plus. The prices are extremely fair, especially given their liberal portions. I got the Southern Bowl with Fried Chicken - can be sub for fried steak - and it was hearty and filling. The Chicken is super tender with a nice crisp batter, the corn is perfectly cooked and adds a nice juicy bite with each spoonful, the mash was super fluffy and thick, and the jalapeno gravy gives a nice kick to it - it can be brown or white as well. The menu also has a build your own burger where one can chose more interesting meats like bison or lamb or for your tender basket, you can get captain crunch batter. read more

I've been here twice in the past few weeks. The fried pork chops are just as good as they've ever been but the French dip wasn't. Located in a shopping strip, came in Saturday for early dinner. The setting is kind of small but the food is great! I ordered the chicken fried steak, so good and filling I took part of it home. The mashed potatoes tastes homemade, something like my grandma would make. I got jalapeño dipping sauce and it was tasty with the meal. My friend got their sandwich and liked it. First off the service was amazing everyone was so kind. Secondly the food is absolutely amazing I wasn't expecting much just a regular burger but everything from the patty to the lettuce on the side so it stays fresh just sent it over the top. Just went here today with my husband. Got a French dip, patty melt, French onion soup to share, and chili fries to share. Really good taste, large portions. They did charge extra for onions/cheese/and mushrooms for my French dip which I've never had happen before. But not enough to worry about I was too hungry. Tasted good, broth does need a little more flavor though. Chili fries were super yummy just wish the cheddar on top was melted when we got it. Second visit = MUCH better service. Kevin was on top of the ball. Food: -Stuffed jalapeno appetizer dish was awesome. Well suited for a table for two (first visit cheese dip lasted through two servings of chips and we still took some home with us!). The breading was crunchy and thin and the peppers had a pleasant level of spice. -My shrimp and grits was flavorful and filling. I saw a yelp photo of this dish and wanted to check out the smoked Gouda grits. My plate came with unexpected jalapenos. Though they are not on the menu, or in the photo I saw, they worked well with the sweet tomatoes ** You can order a side of Gouda grits with any entree ** -Charlie ranked their chicken fried chicken in his top five! He chose the jalapeno gravy over brown or cream for his dish and fries for the side. I could not resist asking for extra napkins this visit... and Kevin passed with flying colors. He brought a hefty stack out for the table :) so many that he restocked my glove box napkin supple. A few of Omega's entrees (fish of the day, grilled pork chops) are served with the "sauce of the day." Kevin humored my request to sample the day's choice sauce -- and came back with THREE different ones! The only thing Kevin did not do during our visit was take me serious when I asked him to write down what each sauce was. Everyone knows I have an awesome memory, though, so no biggie. This is probably my new favorite lunch spot. There's a 'seat yourself' policy which I love, because there's been many times at other restaurants where I've hated the table given to me. I like being able to choose NOT to sit next to the crying kids or where the AC blows directly on me. Service is always great and the place is always very clean. One of my favorite items is the jalapeño gravy. It's so good, you almost want to just eat it with a spoon. Their salads are large and filling too. My favorite is the Greek salad. They're generous with the olives and capers. Prices are very fair and I like that you can usually get in and out fairly quickly if you're in a hurry. The dessert selection could be better, but I would still go here even if the desserts were nonexistent. read more

OMG I finally got to try Omega Grill last week and let me just say it was delicious. My hubs and I had fun food night so we tried their fork and knife dog and let me just say it did not disappoint. The bun with the poppy seeds was delicious. The dog is a little on the salty side but it was still very balanced with the HTX queso, shredded cheese and chili that was topped on the dog. Omega Grill was a decent lunch on the way to Conroe for the weekend. The food was a hit or miss depending on what you ordered, but I'll admit the service was great. Restrooms were clean which was greatly appreciated because the drive up to Conroe is a solid drive coming from closer to the Galveston area. The grilled chicken sandwich with the ghost pepper sauce and grilled pineapple was delicious and not as spicy as you would think. The shrimp po boy was awful in comparison. There were only 6 small to medium sized shrimp compared to this huge chunk of bread, half of your bites were filled with just lettuce and sauce. The fried chicken bowl was good as it was filled with mashed potatoes, fried chicken, corn, gravy, and cheese, not much you could mess up here. And last but not least was their meatloaf plate. This by far had the best presentation. The mashed potatoes/gravy were creamy, the green beans were my favorite, the onion rings were crispy, but the meatloaf itself was kinda dry. Overall Omega Grill wasn't bad, but I don't think I would come here again. I'd rather take my chances with another nearby restaurant. read more

The reason I don't give it a great fantastic rating is that is just what it was a chill place with chill food, nothing crazy or innovative, just old recipes that are timeless. I am interested in coming back here for the burger they are known for, but when I was here it was all about brunch, which they are lacking on.
