A Chickies Fan from the Old Neighborhood on Pulaski, great food every time I'm in the area I have to stop in. Usually get the standard Beef Combo sweet n hot dipped or hot dog with fries, can't go wrong with either one. Chili dogs are great too. My wife loves your Pizza slice specials, huge slice of Pizza! So I ordered a hotdog and fries and because of the situation can't eat inside the restaurant so I asked for a small cup of ketchup I said I can't drive and eat my fries trying to open packets and they said they don't have any but yet they sell $.50 at cups of cheese to go with the frues so I don't understand why can't they just put it in the cheese cup ketchup and I didn't care they couldn't charge me I just can't eat french fries an open packages and drive all the same time read more

You know what, I really, really hate coming on here and giving negative reviews of places. I truly like just point out employees for a job well done and writing reviews about great food. With that being said, Chickies is becoming a bigger and bigger let down. I really feel that the old place was better and ever since they expanded, the food and customer service has really gone down hill. I went in there for supper this evening and was very let down. I asked for a slice of sausage pizza and was quickly told that they were out. I asked if they were cooking anymore and was quickly told in a rude and arrogant tone that they were out for the night. No worries, so I ordered something else. As soon as I got my food, they brought a fresh sausage pizza out. I asked the girl at the register why there was a fresh pizza if she just told me they were out, she basically shrugged her shoulders and walked off. I kind of stood there for a second and asked the guy behind counter who quickly told me that they can't predict things like that. Now mind you I asked if there was another pizza in the oven. They could have VERY easily told me that a fresh pizza would be brought out within a few minutes. These are the kind of things that really affect a business. At the old location you had the owner out front running business. He was friendly, talking to customers, and making sure things were done right. Some of these new employees have a real chip on their shoulder and attitude to match. Maybe I caught them on a bad night, maybe they didn't want to be there. Chicago has a lot of hot dog and hamburger stands. The Original Chickies Beef is one of the old school, classic places to get some great chicago style food. I have been a lot of these types of places, and this is one of the best. The food here is very good. I first tried their pepperoni pizza. It was really good. Next, I tried their italian beef. The beef was tender and it was perfectly dipped. The best part of it was that the hot peppers were made in house. Next, I tried the best thing during the whole meal. It was their cannolis milkshake. The milkshake had the flavor of the cannolis filling and featured a whole cannolis shell. I also tried their famous Little Village Burger. It's a cheeseburger with their house made hot peppers and onions on a French roll. It was really good. I also had their cannolis. In Chicago, it's hard to find a decent cannolis. It's refreshing that that you can find a great one here. Overall, the food here is worth the trip Hillside from anywhere in the Chicago area. read more

I was surprised when I went to this establishment today (Aug 13 Thu). This was the first restaurant that I've gone to that didn't ensure seating was 6 ft apart. All tables were available with no change from before the epidemic. To make matters worse their delivery man was standing in front of the pickup counter with no mask. He stood there the entire time we were in the store. Luckily we were able to take our food outside where we could maintain a safe distance. They are not the original. Not even the staff. The original was on 28th and Pulaski. The beef is the same receipt. Their menu is 100 times better then the original. The beefs are overpriced and skimpy on the meat, the hotdogs are so overpriced I won't try them, and the meatball sandwich is terrible. I'd eat the one from Subway before me Chickies version. I ordered an Italian Beef Sandwich super dipped with sweet and hot peppers, fries with no salt, and a cup of cheese sauce. The Italian Beef sandwich was perfectly prepared and delicious. The fries did not have any salt as requested; however, they were terribly overcooked and very hard. I think the fries had already been cooked and had been sitting up a while. I've been coming to Chickies for 35 years, original location was on 28th & Pulaski, the best house made giardiniera, shaved jalapeños in vegetable oil, beef is shaved thin with great au jus, get it dipped if dining in, extra juice on the side to go or it's too soggy when you get home (unless you like it that way) hose cut fries are perfect like Gene and Jude's. My first time trying this place. The Italian beef is definitely delicious. I don't do spicy but the plain beef has a nice kick. I like my beefs dipped well with mozzarella cheese and they delivered it just like I like it! The pizza slice is two large slices to create a jumbo slice so you could easily share.
