My boyfriend had a doctor appt in the area, so we looked up places to eat nearby. His mom found this place and insisted we had to stop after looking at the menu. So glad we did! She got the brisket dinner and we both got pulled pork combo. Both were amazing!! Sampled her potatoes, garlic bread, and coleslaw and not one thing I did not like!! BBQ sauce was spot on- tried them both. We even brought one home!! ($4.14 including tax). The bread was thick and did not get soggy! Very good garlic bread too, we weren't sure if it was sourdough or not. We are not from the area but we decided we will have to try a family dinner night here with the rest of the family!! This place was amazing! Blew my mind with the speed of service and the quality and quantity of food that I got. I had to return a second time to make sure the first time wasn't just a fluke. The only thing negative was the cashier's attitude (same lady both visits). Sorry we haven't all memorized the menu and side options but is the attitude really necessary? Me and my fiancée live about 3-5 minutes away and we always passed by this place and every time of day, any day of the week, this place is packed. So we decided to stop in and eat since we live right by here. The gentleman at the entrance that took our order was so kind and since it was our first time he recommended the famous and most sought out plates. I went a simple route and got the brisket sandwich and it was so damn good! Lol. My fiancée got a chicken on a pita and it was delicious! Great food. Awesome staff. Perfect ambiance inside. Ok, I almost gave 4 stars. But, I joined the "Pig Pen" and it says you are supposed to get an actual pig PEN when you come in. I asked and they said they don't have any more. I know it sounds stupid but if you no longer have something promised maybe take it off the website or offer something else. That being said, the pork chops and brisket are FANTASTIC!!! Yelp classified this place as a BBQ joint so I went over and it's not a real BBQ place but a novelty BBQ place. You can tell by the wide range of people that this is some destination restaurant and the place to be on a Saturday afternoon, the cars ranged from custom painted C7 corvette to old people grand marquis with everything in between. The place is cool with water features, outdoor patio, salt water tank, life size Elvis as you walk in. The place goes hard on the cabin decor with wood everywhere and dead animals on the walls. It's soup nazi style and very structured, walk in and go through the hoops and walk out. Since I thought that this was a BBQ place I grabbed a full slab dinner to take home which was pretty weighty for $20.99 with red potatoes, green beans, small corn on the cob, slice of garlic bread and a corn muffin. The food is just ok and the BBQ is not great just so you know so I don't get the Yelp ratings at all, have you people just not had good BBQ. In my opinion good BBQ has to have one of two core flavors which is wood smoked or a grilled flavor which my ribs didn't have and I'm not saying that they were bad. For the $$ they were just about the most reasonable full slab dinner for the money with how much you get. Let's start with the big bone slab which was good for what it was, it's a nice slab cooked perfectly with tender/moist fall off the bone meat slathered in a somewhat tasty sweet thick BBQ glaze but no real BBQ flavor or seasoning. It's just a nice cooked rack of pork worth BBQ sauce on it so it's good for what it is but it's in now way authentic BBQ. The sides are nothing great and need seasoning with a pre packaged corn muffin. If the boring bland green beans were not canned than they were murdered in the kitchen and no better than canned. The red potatoes were seasoned in a bland way sitting in a pool of oil, see my pictures, drain them before eating them and salt/pepper them and they are ok. The soggy garlic bread had some potential and looked ok but they slapped it on top the ribs and it was soaked with BBQ sauce which ruined it for me. The corn bread was the dry gritty kind that if you eat with out a drink you could choke to death, I absolutely hate this style and the reason I never pay extra for corn bread because I never know if it's this style. Overall if you want a cheap mediocre wannabe BBQ at a cabin theme park kind of place than definitely stop by but it's not a real legitimate BBQ place but for what it is, it's a fun experience and kind of cool so I can see the appeal but I should have done some research first. read more

How do they make a pork chop that thick so juicy??! I don't know and I don't care because it was delicious! Honest review... Let me start with the good. Came here in between peak lunch and dinner hours. Crowd was minimal. Staff was very inviting and helpful at the front desk. Seating rooms are fairly big. The tables were clean and there's lots of stuff on the walls to keep your eyes occupied. Food arrived at the table quickly. The carrot cake was fantastic! I pray to God it wasn't from-frozen like the rest of my meal. The pork chop - tender and juicy. It's huge. I don't quite understand how they can give you such a large portion at a low price....but it's filling so I'll let it slide. The bad... The BBQ Ribs.........You know it's a bad thing when you eat something and you get a flashback of a bad chain restaurant meal from years ago. The very, very first thing I thought of when eating these ribs was Applebees.....the oddly chopped and overcooked "rib meat." Well-cooked bbq ribs should be tender but still stick to the bone when you pick it up. The meat SHOULD NOT fall off....this is a sign of being overcooked. A lot of people don't realize that. My ribs were way overcooked and heavily-sauced to hide the poor smoking and warmer-tray storage. What's bewildering is that other Yelp reviews are across the board....some even claim that meat didn't fall off at all. That tells me that this place has inconsistency issues. Other bad things... Baked beans - from a can (at a bbq place...wtf?!) Cornbread - rock hard dry, from a mix Green beans - from a can Oven browned potatoes - prefried potatoes from frozen. how do I know?....because I used to work for a company that made that exact product. Corn cob - ??? I was going to rate this place a fair 3-stars UNTIL I read the ingredients on the bottle of their "award winning" bbq sauce. I've been to 100+ mom and pop bbq restaurants with homemade sauces and not one of them has high fructose corn syrup as the MAIN ingredient. Molasses (sugar) or tomato sauce is ALWAYS the first ingredient. This truly embarrassing. If you're a large family looking for a filling meal on a budget, then this is a good place for you. If you're one of those "I will travel a little ways for bbq" people, then head somewhere else. Where do you start? You know the food is good and the portions are huge. I guess my only complaint is that Hog Wild has gotten so popular that you are kinda rushed in and then rushed out. They now have assigned seating based on the number of diners. I prefer to pick my seats thank you. It's also cash only. Everything is good. Burgers, ribs, brisket, pot roast, you name it. Food is fairly priced. It's not cheap but it's not expensive. I guess you get what you pay for. Want a good meal? Come here and expect to pay $10 for lunch. Want fast food at a value price? Go to the other places. You'll be paying less and you'll probably end up with a stomach ache. There is a huge private parking lot that gets so busy sometimes that they have people out there directing traffic. They also have a large golf cart that shuttles you from the far ends of the lot to the front door. They must be doing something right. Hog Wild also caters dba "Chefs Table" and they are the greatest guys. They will come out and set up where ;you want them and cook chops, chicken, etc. with all the side dishes. Excellent bbq! We were in the area playing golf and in the mood for bbq, so happy we found this place. We had the pork chop, ribs and beef and sausage sandwich. All excellent. If I had to pick one item to order next time, it would definitely be the pork chop. They have a bunch of people working so even though there was a line, we were able to order pretty quickly. There were many things that I liked and didn't like about this place so I'll do a pros and cons list. But before I go into that I will say their ordering section was confusing. When you walk in you see a huge menu on the wall, make sure you know what you're ordering before you step up to the cashier because you pay before you sit and eat UNLESS you have a big party. Pros: -SUPERRR speedy service. You walk in and order at the front counter, which was weird to me, but our food literally beat us to our table while we were getting drinks -ribs were cooked well done.
