Wow. Porkchop sandwich, pulled pork dinner and meatloaf Monday special were over the top amazing. Meatloaf was so heavy, the takeout container almost broke when I picked it up one-handed. Browned potatoes so perfect...crispy outside, pillows soft inside. Got porkchop traditional. BBQ sauce on side...sauce was good...though not knock your socks off good...course it was in a pre-sealed container mass-produced so may be why. Bbq sauce on pulled pork was good...toast was good... First of all they're cash only in a digital world. They have an atm in the establishment that I believe is tacky and greedy because you're making $3 a person just to get cash out of the atm. They're too cheap to have a credit card swipe or apple pay to avoid the inconvenience. From a business perspective I think it's very petty and inconvenient for the customer. read more

It is not very often that I find myself in this area, but I might have to come by a little more often if anything just to visit this place. It's rare to find a decent BBQ place that is only one dollar sign ($). They have most of their menu posted outside which is nice; no pressure from the waiting eyes of the cashier. We placed our order got our drinks and some napkins and before we even sat down someone came by to drop our food off. To say that food comes out quickly here is an understatement. It flies out of the kitchen. First thing we noticed about the food was the portions. They are huge here! Especially for the prices. We had two sandwiches with fries (Pork Chop and BBQ Brisket) and that was enough to feed three adults with some leftovers, probably enough for another meal. The BBQ was pretty good too, no complaints about the meat. We did notice though that the BBQ sauce was bottled elsewhere, so not sure if it's an original recipe. But hey, if it tastes good I won't question it. The decor is pretty eclectic. It's a little dark since there are no windows in the dining area, but there is a huge fish tank and a neon sign in the back. My husband can never say enough good things about this place, and he's starting to get me hooked. I typically don't like barbecue and eat vegetarian most of the time, but Hog Wild gets me to break my rules. BUT they have a mushroom sandwich on the days I want to stick to them. Food is always hot even when getting it to go. The meat is always extremely tender. My husband loves the steak sandwich. The biggest drawback is the cash only policy. I know that I'm in the minority but I don't get what all of the fuss is about. I've been here a few times and it's fine, just not the "best pork ever" as locals claim. The pork chop is properly cooked and juicy, which is tricky but not unheard of. The brisket was sliced super thin, almost shaved, and very bland. The pulled pork is average. Their bbq sauce is very good. Maybe it's nostalgia that keeps folks coming back, maybe it was the only show in town in years past. Everything here is delicious! Inside dining gets crowded because it's very popular because they have a very good variety of food. You can get Pot Roast or Roast Pork or a very good Strip Steak sandwich among their other popular Pork Chops and BBQ items. When we were waiting in line, the line moves relatively quickly. The food came out super fast. We got carry out and sat outside to eat. The weather was super nice. The moment we opened our food, it looks amazing. My sister and I ordered the Rib Tips Dinner and Rib Eye Steak Burrito Dinner. My friend ordered the Beef Brisket Dinner. The garlic bread was DELICIOUS. Entrees were amazing, except the sides were a bit basic and not was flavorful. Some of the Rib tips were super dry. The Rib Eye Steak Burrito wasn't as flavorful. The Steak was delicious and juicy, however we had to use the spicy sauce they provided for flavor. In the end, there wasn't enough sauce. The beef Brisket was super dry. After a long day, the only thing I wanted was something amazing to eat. I've lined Famous Dave's pockets so much it was time to find somewhere else to spend my money. I honestly don't know of any good BBQ places in the south suburbs so I googled, and this place seemed like it was worth a try. I tried a pot roast taco on flour shell and the meat was flavored very well. It comes with lettuce, tomato, cheese, and sour cream on the side. Salsa comes on the side too but it wasn't to my liking so I was glad the meat was seasoned well. Beware the tacos don't look as good as they taste, so don't expect anything fancy. The real winner was their Dixie Filet Sirloin 10oz Steak Sandwich. Mine was cooked perfectly, and although I don't believe in A-1 sauce, it meshed well with all the other flavors. It has lots of sauteed onions, mushrooms, and mozzarella cheese on top, and served with fries. The is a great meal for 7.95. They still only get 2 stars because the order taker was very rude to me. She rushed me through my order and questions on the menu, cutting me off before I could finish my sentence. She then got an attitude when after she took my order and assumed it was to go, that I told her I was eating there. She yells to the cook that I switched it for here instead of to go. Umm no, I didn't switch, you just never asked me if it was for here or to go and were too busy cutting me off and assuming it was to go. Then she slaps a cup on the counter and says "go to table 23". When I'm about to get my drink I discover there is black guck inside my cup; not cool!!! I asked one of the workers cleaning up if they could grab me a new cup just to avoid Ms. Attitude at the front counter. I'm big on good service, so that killed it for me. I believe she was being lazy and didn't want to make another trip to the baxk since she just brought me a mild one out. I even saw it back there before i asked her and i said are you sure there's none back there and she assured me there wasn't. I stopped by for the first time with some family. The layout, which included outdoor seating, was nice considering we are in a pandemic. Although entering for the first time was a little confusing. Do order first? Do I wait for a waiter? Do I pay first? Because the group was large we were asked to have a seat and someone would come around for our order. Okay fine, but, they forgot about us and we had to remind them to take our order. The food came out of the kitchen at a very fast pace, which was great because we were hungry. Prior to arrival I looked over some of the other reviews to figure what others recommended. I concluded that I needed to try their famous pork chop. Was it good? Actually, it was absolutely deliciously satisfying. Then, why only 4 stars? Well, the sides that I ordered along with the very large pork chop could have been whole lot better. The over cooked lifeless green beans were the sort you get in an elementary school cafeteria. You know the kind that were taken straight out of can, heated, then served. As for the red potatoes that I also picked; they were a greasy mess. But I do have to hand it to them with the pork chop because it was very, very good, as was the bread that they served along side the chop. Thankfully, other family members allowed me to try the baked chicken with their original bbq sauce which was also very good. Would I return? Most definitely, but, next time I will opt for different sides. If my review was solely based on the pork chop, then yes it would be a 5 star rating. You are greeted with a Cash Only sign, then another, then another - hey Cash Only - if you haven't figured it out by the time you order go home - you don't deserve a place in line . For me I always get a full slab (because who doesn't want these babies for leftovers), the red potato's and green beans are also very good.
