THIS is our go to for delivered lunch!! One of the best delis around all of Brooklyn (they're my #1 choice, truly). The first time I came across John's Deli, I was in the mood for a really good sub-like sandwich, and found them through Seemless. My fiancé ordered the Turkey Hero, and I decided on their Philly Verizon! Man o' man were these sandwiches huge, delicious, and choke-full with the best deli meat around (and that's without opting for their "add more protein" option). The condiments and veggies were fresh and plentiful too. I've also had their Tony Soprano (perfect for those that love roast beef), Det. Gino Felino with extra mayo, and Butch Coolidge cold sandwiches. All homeruns! Oh yeah, be sure to order a side of their macaroni and potato salads too; so fresh and tasty! I came here on a weekday afternoon for the first time. The place was not crowded, but definitely a lot of traffic with a lot of people coming in and out, picking up orders, placing orders, etc. So I just thought "wow this place must be good." There's a big menu on the wall with their selection of sandwiches, but you can also create your own. I went with the one with Rocky Balboa (Chicken Parm) sandwich. I was impressed. With the new policies in place, table blocking the dining area; customers stand 6ft away from each other and wait for their orders. It's the sandwich shop that does something SPECIAL that takes its menu items over the top. John's has many many many sandwich options that go together, and I loved every single combination. The Vinny Chase, I will always almost get prosciutto and will always almost love it. Definitely did here The Johnny Drama was so yummy and the broccoli rabe was a great add on. Even the rice ball that used to bee good was an overcooked, soggy mush. Oh and when you tip they no longer yell out, "for the subway!" I also ventured out to try something new and tried the rice ball with ham and cheese with parmesan on top. That was just okay to me. Shout out to Ellie the cashier who explained the rice ball and the options I could get with it. Even though there was a line behind me, he was patient and answered my questions without rushing me. :-) Be prepared to wait a few for your food because with the customers in the store and the phone orders it was very busy. Every few minutes the staff would yell "Subway" which meant they received a tip. The next time I visit, I'll try the truffles and another cool sandwich. This is an all around awesome sandwich spot. The hot and cold sandwiches are so good, and they have the best roast beef sandwich I've ever had. If you order that, make sure you get a side of that delicious gravy to dip your sandwich in. The meatball parm is also an excellent choice. From the cold sandwiches, The Godfather and The Fiona are awesome. I also want to note that they follow COVID-19 safety precautions. Came here for brunch with hubby. The place is very New York and has a soprano feel to it. Photos of celebs that visited the deli all over the walls. We sat outside (which I don't recommended if you want a quite lunch , the N train is right there!) I got the Tommy devito which is chicken cutlet with broccoli rabe and fresh mozzarella. It was really good but kind of dry, I asked for chipotle mayo on the side but I think marinara sauce would of worked better with it. Hubby got the usual , the roast beef.
