There is elevator access nearby as well as an escalator and stairs. Atmosphere: very small old school diner feel. Music quietly playing in the background Service: I was a bit disappointed in the lack of staff during lunch hour on a weekday. I stood in the front for almost 10 minutes with two kids before staff even acknowledged my existence. There was a lady working behind the counter just a few feet away from us the entire time and she didn't even muster a "welcome in, be with you shortly". We were just completely ignored until a different staff member emerged from the back much later to seat us. The place was practically empty except for a handful of occupied tables. I've come here before, but this time I came for my birthday coupon ($10 discount). It was on a random workday so I didn't have much time to eat, but they were nice enough to let me order to go instead of scarfing food in the restaurant! There is actually a very close parking lot to this restaurant that I missed, but a good note for next time. Last time I came I didn't get pancakes, and this time I got the corned beef hash which came with optional pancakes. Oh my goodness I really missed out last time! These pancakes were EXCELLENT. I loved how fluffy they were- I tend to not order pancakes because they feel dense and claggy but these were soft and soft and perfect. I truly wanted to give OPH a chance, but after multiple awful experiences, I'm done. It sucks because we really did want to enjoy their food. Most recently, I received moldy pancakes -- yes, actual green and blue mold visibly growing on the food. When I called to inform the restaurant, I was told "we can't do anything about it." No apology, no refund, no concern. Just total indifference to serving unsafe, inedible food. Unfortunately, this isn't the first time I've had issues here. On a previous visit, a cockroach crawled out in the bathroom. I should have trusted my gut and not come back after that. I came here today cause it reminded me of my old job blackbear back in Arizona and it was the decorations, but I'm happy I came over here. The service was amazing. Only waited for like a minute just for the host to sit me down and my service was really nice. She was a good server. She can make a customer service and I'm glad to have a reward program that gives a free drink when you sign up. The menu is not very big, but I like that I got the eggs and meat which include two chicken apple patties, eggs, potatoes and toast for a reasonable price it was all handmade so I love that right there quickly and I got a ice tea as well. It might be silly but I had the chocolate chip pancakes one time and that's all it took to get me hooked on them! I love the classic country/casual diner vibe of this spot. This is a great breakfast or brunch spot for the whole family! The service was great and speedy, and all of the staff were polite and kind. This is my favorite place to have breakfast. The pancakes are absolutely perfect - the flavor, texture, and thickness are all exactly what I look for in a pancake. The bacon is thick, and crispy on the outside while being tender and juicy on the inside - I wish I could get this bacon at the grocery store! The whipped cream is also made in-house, and is thicker than anything you'll find at the grocery store - it's delicious! I love spreading a little of it on my pancakes along with the butter and syrup. The restaurant itself is very clean, and I like the tables - the finish on these tables feels much nicer than the tables found in Maple Valley. The service is very friendly and attentive - I've never had a hard time getting my server's attention. However, the food is straight up awful and a notch below IHOP. The chicken fried steak is perhaps the worst I have ever had. It was flat like a pancake with no discernible texture. It was tough and without the crispy texture that you would expect. The scrambled eggs were way overcooked and literally dripping with grease. This felt like a money grab! I adore the original pancake house in the Suburbs of Minnesota. I do not love this one in Redmond WA. If there is more than one and I'm on the wrong page it is specific to the one in Redmond town center. They mention fresh salsa on the menu. I asked for a side of salsa and a side of sour cream for my omelet. Salsa was $3.50 and sour cream was $1.50. They didn't tell me there was an up charge. I figured there would be one but it was a little excessive. (They do make beautiful fresh salsa at the MN locations) I learned later on my bill they use a chipotle salsa. I asked if they had another kind as I would never have ordered a chipotle salsa and that I did not like this one at all. She said, nope --just the one kind and no where in the menu do they use the chipotle description. Also it was not fresh , so false advertising to boot. The sour cream came in a side cup the size of a tiny ketchup cup. (I didn't need more than that, it was just clearly an over-charge for the amount given. They did not put in our Dutch baby that we ordered and when asked about it when our main food was delivered. We were going to try to share that for the table. Like a starter. Also when they brought the bill it had like a $96 or $98 total. When I put my card in it and it came back it was a higher total. They didn't bring back that original slip. Only the new one. Like $111 or $115, I can't remember. It turns out the waitress had forgot to put it in and Instead of comping it or explaining that she forgot just kind of left us wondering when we saw tons of Dutch baby's delivered past our table time after time. With the item coming after our meal not at the beginning they must have just added the $17 Dutch baby after they had my card. It seems she never put it in yet was totally surprised we had not yet received it. Her mistake. This was really bad business practice and very deceptive to the consumer. To bring one bill with a smaller amount and then return a higher amount after the card was rung. We also did. Not get an apology. Nor any apology or coming on the salsa not being fresh, what was false advertised and not very good. Terrible actually but I don't like chipotle peppers. Whip cream was an up-charge on my daughter's a-la-cart waffle $17 for a-la-cart waffle and another $3.50 for whip cream. which we ordered from the adult menu and it was a size of a kids waffle. And pumpkin pancakes were an up charge on my other daughter's meal. Totally fine and came with whip cream! For $3.50 or 3.95 trying to do this from memory! drip coffee was over $4 Last year I did have two meals when they were featuring crab Benedict and I had a nice server both times. But that was seasonal. It will probably be my last trip to this one unless I randomly cross its path during crab week! They had a few opportunities to comp the little stuff or the forgotten Dutch baby but it was more like take, take, take. There were opportunities to help us be ok with the mistakes but they didn't take it upon themselves selves to see it from the consumers perspective and they used the deceptive business practice by adding something after the final bill was delivered with no explanation or apology. We still tipped $22% but it was not worth that especially after feeling Nickle and dimed. I cannot recommend this restaurant for any family seeking a quality meal for a good value. read more

I have a love-hate relationship with this place. The food is absolutely amazing, but it's definitely on the pricier side for breakfast. Still, I find myself dining in or ordering delivery at least twice a month because it's that good. My go-to order is the meat and eggs combo with bacon, over medium eggs, and I splurge on both the buttermilk pancakes and grilled potatoes. It costs extra to get both, but trust me, it's worth it. The buttermilk pancakes are hands down my favorite. I've tried the strawberry pancakes too, and they're equally delicious, but sometimes I like to stick with the classic. Have eaten here a few times in the past, food always good. Today, they were busy but wait was only 15 minutes and service great. Food was another matter. "Spring Menu" included crab Benedict and crab omelet. Omelet was advertised as being stuffed with crab, asparagus, mozzarella and topped with "shaved parmesan." Prices were $24.95 & $26.95 My wife got the benedict, I ordered the omelet with pancakes. Came out relatively quickly. Benedict looked fine. My omelet was large but didn't show any signs of parmesan, shaved or otherwise. I started eating, and coming in from the edge was not surprised to find no filling. But closer to the middle it was still sparse so I flipped it open and found two small morsels of crab, and a couple ounces of cheese. Plenty of asparagus but all stems, no tips. I think the tips go on the benedict and the stems are chopped up for the omelets. When server came by and asked how things were, I said the omelet was lacking crab. She came back and said she checked with the manager and "omelets have 2 1/2 ounces of crab which we measure out. But since you did not get what you expected, we'll give you a discount." Well check came and they took 10% off the omelet. So I paid $22.50 for an asparagus and mozzarella omelet with essence of crab. Ambience - 2.5/5 - Pretty average looking breakfast place. Food - 4/5. We ordered Sweet Bell Peppers Omelette. They come with 3 regular pancakes. With an additional $2.5 you can choose any other pancakes (if you don't want the regular ones) we ordered chocolate chips pancakes. The portion was huge and can be easily shareable with 2 person. The pancakes were soft. With chocolate chips it had a perfect semi sweet taste to it The omelette was fluffy and stuffed well with cheese. The salsa was a good touch on the top with sour cream. We waited almost 15 minutes after we checked in as we were on a waitlist. She is better off working in the kitchen or anywhere where there is little to know interaction. 4. I have weekly standing appointments in Redmond Towne Center so walk by this place a lot. When they first opened I wanted to support local businesses and had breakfast at The OPH here. Left a little disappointed. 2 years ago, out of the area friends wanted to eat here and I reluctantly agreed - I should have tried to change their minds and go elsewhere. Just a few days ago, I had a craving for a waffle breakfast. And being in the vicinity, against my better judgement, decided to go here. Once again, should have listened to my past experiences. Upon arrival, no one at the front desk to seat you - even though sign says to wait for someone to seat you. I waited and waited and waited - servers walking around, I saw staff in the back - so many staff saw me yet didn't do anything - ended up waiting like 10 minutes to be seated for a party of 1. Ordered a waffle breakfast - 1 waffle, 1 egg and bacon - crispy. Took nearly 25 minutes to get my order - and no, the place was not super busy - it was the middle of the week at around 10:30/10;45am. Read my book I had purchased at the local RTC bookstore (Brick and Mortar Bookstore) and actually read like 4 entire chapters before breakfast arrived. And it was quite disappointing. The entire breakfast looked like it had been pre-cooked and reheated in the microwave. The waffle was 'warm' and entiredly soft - not a crispy edge anywhere and the whipped butter didn't even melt - just sat on top - it was that lukewarm. The bacon was crispy as requested, but once again, it was 'warm' but certainly could tell that it had not been just cooked since there wasn't even a hint of grease on it...like it had been pre-cooked and reheated. The egg was weird - I asked for over easy - and the egg looked like it had been dropped in water with a runny white topside and bottom side - certainly not cooked on a grill. And although I understand that eating out has increased in price, paying nearly $30.00 (including tip) for this lack of quality breakfast is just not acceptable. I really really want to support this business but I do believe I have finally learned from my mistakes and will not be returning - no matter whatl. read more

One of the gyms I go to is at Redmond Town Center, so my friend and I were searching for a place nearby for brunch after our workout. We saw that The Original Pancake House was part of the town center, so decided to check it out on a Sunday morning. Sunday funday brings all the brunchers. It was pretty busy when we arrived, but we were able to be seated immediately for the two of us. The restaurant is what you'd expect from a place that specializes in breakfast, as it has that homey feel to it and no alcohol. The menu had several classic dishes, from its namesake of different pancakes, to eggs made in every way, and lighter options, like oatmeal and fruit. I ordered the country eggs benedict while my friend had the strawberry waffles plate. The food takes a bit to get, but good food is worth the wait, right? By the time our food arrived to our table, they brought out a country fried steak meal for me instead of the country eggs benedict, so had to wait a bit longer for mine to be remade. But what was nice with many of the entrees here is that you get a side of bread or pancakes, and of course I had to get pancakes. So I ate my pancakes until my main entrée was ready and have to say, I forgot how good pancakes were. I hardly ever eat them, but why the heck not? They were buttery, soft and had a hint of vanilla. Even without syrup they were solid. When my country eggs benedict did arrive, I thought it was A-OK. I was disappointed that the biscuit was not soft and doughy, like how I prefer my biscuits. And the piece of the chicken fried steak on the biscuit was thin and lackluster. Gravy was also bland. Yet, the poached eggs with that broken yolk was solid, especially with some hot sauce. I wouldn't order this entrée again, as it was disappointing and not worth the wait. Everything on the plate sounded good with chicken fried steak, biscuits and gravy, but they all fell short. The server forgot the syrup. Ordered a second hot chocolate and he forgot it. Service was slow. Never asked me for my phone number to get credited for my visit.
